A hard-hitting, realistic story
Carly Chambers may be a shy, abused child at home - part of a family constantly moving to avoid trouble - but on the boardwalk she has her unusual friends who watch out for her and worry about her. She loves the beach and their new Oceanside coastal home, until her father's activities and the interest of a stranger threatens her new life. In The Secret Within, Theresa Golding has created a hard-hitting, realistic story of a child involved in a destructive pattern of family abuse and illegal activity - and how she survives by building healthier relationships outside the home.

SCOTLAND'S FINEST - THE CLAN GUNN MEN
Theresa Michaels really knows how to spin a passionate, action-filled story featuring the second of the Clan Gunn warriors of northern Scotland (Micheil, the oldest of the Gunn men, was first). Jamie Gunn, who is Clan Gunn tanist and his tribe's war chief, snatches the Lady Gilliane from the cruel Norman despot, Guy de Orbrec, only to find the redheaded beauty he rescues lays seige to his heart. Jamie is not ready for love, and the beautiful fiery-haired and convent-bred Gilliane is not at all sure about this bold fighting man with his alarming bursts of bad temper. Theresa Michaels skillfully brings the realities and the sensuousness of Scotland in the Middle Ages to vivid life, and leaves the reader waiting for the next brother, the eerily gifted Davey, and his story. I can't wait.

Very Good!
I am in the 6 grade and getting my confirmation. I decided to do Saint Theresa for my Saint Report and this book gave me great information about this wonderful creature. I thought that it was going to be a very boring book but I was very surprised because it was so great! Read it!

Wonderful Children's Story
This adorable tale about John and his quest for acceptance with his peers can teach all children that they have a gift and that they are special. The illustrations are beautiful and the writing is superb. I strongly recommend this book to parents, grandparents and teachers, for the lessons in it are too often ignored!

Glorious Paradox
Suffering into Joy - what a glorious paradox! Incomprehensible, as paradoxes are, yet always, also making the most utter sense. This book holds a message to reach and touch deep in your heart where you hold your hurts, ready to consume and renew them into a most profound and holy joy. I have learned all too much about suffering in the last half year - I was brutally hurt, physically and mentally, by a cruel man in a drawn-out ordeal in December. I have yet to be able to work through my darkness and step into the flames of joy. But this book is a light to hold by. And it is Mother Teresa - her words. There are few people on earth who can think of her frail humble figure without love and reverance. It is a blessing to have her thoughts with you, and a honor to try to follow her footsteps. Buy this book if you are struggling, if you are in pain, or if all your searching for happiness leads only to fruitlessness and bitterness. I hope the glorious paradox will fill you with its perfect and Godly sense.

A heart felt story.
I read this book to my little sister and she would not let me put it down till the end. The book itself reminded me of what it was like being a kid. Having a secret place to play that was yours alone had always been a dream for little girls, me included. Sarah and Suzanne made it possible to fufill that dream through them. There friendship and there encounters with Ms. Lily almost made me cry. It truely shows the importance of friendship and the importance of healing old wounds.

Great for educators
As a student of American History and as a teacher of American History and Government I have found this book to be incredibly helpful, informative and inspiring. Malcolm X is a figure in American History that deserves more recognition and this book helps students and teachers re-evaluate his contributions. It also worth reading even if you are not a teacher or a student but just interested in malcolm X and African-American studies.

EXCELLENT TEACHING RESOURCE
This is one of the best teaching resources I have seen in a long time. I am a Staff Development Coordinator by profession, and the Christian Education Ministry leader of my church. We took our Sunday School teachers on a retreat, and I planned the whole retreat around this ONE RESOURCE. The teachers got so much out of it, and now my copy of this book is well worn and tattered. While I cannot refer to scriptures in my day to day training of educators in the public sector, I do infuse the teachings in this book in much of the training I do. I highly recommend this book to all teachers and parents, and anyone who wants to grow in their knowledge of Christ.

Mother Theresa comforts in her amazing way again!
I never tire of hearing the words of Mother Theresa and hearing them on this audio book was like being touched by God himself. This little bitty woman touched so many in her life. One has to fight the tears when listening to her stories and true life accounts of suffering. Yet, in the suffering she always points to the Cross of Jesus and the love of God. The Hope of God never ceases in those who come to him. She offers this hope to all who listen. A beautifully-written, compassionate, and endearing book. The author of this book brings Mother Theresa's words to life!
