Awesome...
Being a Chronic pain patient, I purchased this book and found it of much use for my own "recovery" ...With a positive and practical approach I thoroughly enjoyed these readings. Hats off to Harriett and Theresa! I have had the pleasure of being under Harriett's care and have never met a pt who has genuine caring for a patient. I will re-read this book from time to time in an effort to help myself, even though I am not a PT myself. Congratulations on a fine book.

Cimru and Cub
Cimru is awash with John Butler's wonderful paintings. The colors are blues and greens, with some pink in the skies. One can easily imagine the seals'life at sea. First the cub is battered about in a storm, then after she recovers the next day she is threatened by whales. There is real terror as the whales swarm around the seals' rock. For now, however, they are safe and so their lives go on.

A MUST for ADD Coaches!
This book is an absolute must for EVERY ADD Coach, whether they work with college students or not!
What makes this book so valuable is that it is not just a lot of theory. It is nitty-gritty coaching technique at its best. The various issues that face ADD college students are examined closely, then specific recommendations are made about how the coach can help the student/client. Examples of check-ins are provided along with step-by-step outlines that take the coach through the important points.
Not only is this essential for coaches who work with ADD college students, but it is also extremely valuable for anyone who coaches people with ADD/ADHD. The introductory material makes it clear that this book is not meant to take the place of coach training, but this reviewer believes that this should be an essential text book for all ADD coaches. The authors have done us an invaluable service.

I GOT A SCHOLARSHIP!!!
I just received a college scholarship to play baseball at a Division I school and I owe it all to this book. It took me through the whole sports recruiting and college application process step-by-step. If it weren't for what I learned in this book, I never would have written to coaches and told them I wanted to play for their teams (I thought they'd come to me!); I never would have known that spring-sport athletes have to contact coaches in their junior (not senior) season; and I sure wouldn't have understood all the dos and don'ts of the NCAA regulations. I haven't even begun my senior year season yet and I'm already signed up to play in college! Thank you to the authors for helping me achieve my dream of playing college ball.

Intimately longing free verse poetry
Daykeepers is a volume of hauntingly impressive and intimately longing free verse poetry by Theresa E. LaVeck. Brief prose excerpts intersperse the lyrical stanzas about life, love, and loss. An insightful and memorable selection of verses, Daykeepers mark Theresa LaVeck as have a distinctive and memorable voice. Mary's Lament: What shall I do if he leaves me?/What if the child does not have his eyes?/But like the rest, he waits,/suddenly silent, sneaking glances when he thinks I do not see./Perhaps I was already sick with child and have listened too much to/Elizabeth's rantings./Yet how do we, how will my son, continue to live for the men that/would have us enslaved?/I took to the road for 14 days to abide their law and pay their dues./Now one will open their doors to my bulging belly./Where is the physician? Where is our rabbi?/What if the child dies in the dung?

A Real Eye Opner/A Real Mind Opener
I am a Goddess-loving Witch and didn't think that i could relate to women of other religions. But this book really changed my mind. There is stuff in here written by catholic nuns that i could really relate to.I guess what opened my mind and connected the whole book, was that each woman wrote from a feminist perspective. It is incredible the way these women can bring the Divine Feminine into their religious life. To read a nun use the word "goddess" was really healing for me.I bought this book because it had an essay on Kali, and another essay by a favorite writer--Linda Johnsen. I thought I would find the rest of the book boring--but it wasn't. I feel richer having read it.The book contains essays by catholic nuns, jewish rabbis, american zen practicioners, a japanese shinto priest(ess), a dianic witch, a lakota woman, a young muslim, an american hindu, an indian hindu, a chinese taoist doctor, a devotee of the Virgin of Gudalupe, african american feminist, an african american woman raise by a spiritualist/vudoun preistess and then by a babtist mother, a new ager, a quaker and more.It tries to by multi-culural but most of the essays are by white women--which is a little disappointing but you can't have everything. Also christianity and buddhism are over-represented while islam is very under-represented. But the effort at providing a balanced representation is still apreciated. Each writer can be placed in one of two categories, women who did not like the religion the were brought up in and found one that suited them, and those that remained with the religion of their childhood and learned to find meaning in it that spoke to their female perspective.I highly reccomend this book to feminist women of all faiths, and to anyone who wants to understand what women's spirtual lives are like. An excellent "hands-on" book for statistics with Excel
This book is great for people who want to use Excel to analyze data using the statistical package and functions that Excel has to offer. The book reviews how to manuever in Excel and starts from the basics of statistics and proceeds to more advanced statistics such as hypothesis testing and regression. The book has great examples, and plenty of pictures and visual aides so that the reader does not have to guess as to what to do. The book does come with software so one can practice and have hands on experience.

The authors explain statistics in a plain and simple way and do not try to lose the reader with long and complex words. They are straight and to the point keeping it simple so that the reader and student learns and can go through the book and the course with more ease. If you want to use do statistics with Excel, this book is a great start.
