Object: Matrimony
So ended Erin Dunmore's advertisement in the Walla Walla newspaper. Unless she found a husband quickly, Erin would face a lifetime of unwed motherhood. She prayed daily that her ad would be answered by a man who could fulfill her dreams of home, family, and love.

Mace Dalton needed a wife, all right. But his secluded ranch was hard on women, and his rambunctious kids had driven away more housekeepers than he could count. A wife would be bound to him by law-his law. For Mace had enough of home and family, and love was something strictly fromt he past...

Healing: Christian Mandate
Published in Paperback by GOAL Ministries (31 January, 2002)
Author: Mary Theresa Webb
Amazon base price: $11.95
Average review score:

Clear, Concise and Practical!
In "Healing: Christian Mandate," Terry Webb carefully examines several of the stories of healing as told in the Gospels. She provides background to put the healings in the historical as well as social context of Biblical times.

Her vivid narrative style brings the stories to life for the reader. Each recounting of a healing is divided into the Narrative, the Healing Strategies of Christ, Modern Applications and Kingdom Dynamics. The author carefully examines each aspect and leads the reader to practical application for the 21st century. The book concludes with several study questions designed to help the reader explore further aspects of prayer, faith and healing.

I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in faith and prayer as a means of healing and restoration. Individuals in need of wholeness, prayer groups, ministers, lay workers, recovery and 12 Step groups will all find this book to be of great value.

I loved this book!
Even though I am an experienced herb grower, I very much enjoyed this book because it had so many new and fun ideas. The chapter on homemade cosmetics was probably my favorite. I have made the "Gardener's Hand Salve", "Lavender Cologne" and the "Bath Oil". They all were great! I gave them away as gifts too. Be sure to try the Chocolate Mint Pudding recipe too. It is to die for!!

The Hidden Mission Field
The Hidden Mission Field is an excellent resource to help the church leadership begin and build a Single Parent Family Ministry with simplcity. It offers Biblical foundation, real-life experiences, and practical advice. It also addresses the concerns of church leadership in a respectful and logical manner. I would recommend it to both those with a burden for single parents and church leadership.

The Holocaust Trilogy: Theresa, a Dead Woman on Holiday, the Dybbuk
Published in Paperback by Consortium Book Sales & Dist (01 April, 2000)
Author: Julia Pascal
Amazon base price: $20.95
Average review score:

Looking Back To The Present
This is a stunning and important trilogy of plays about the Holocaust. Julia Pascal both takes us back in time and brings us forward, we are never allowed to view the subject matter as though it is merely historical. These plays are simultaneously about the attempted destruction of the Jewish people, about the survival of the human spirit about the importance of culture and the power of love over hate. If that was all the author had done this would be an amazing achievment but these plays are written in English in Britain and so they become another testament. Testifying to the complicity of the British Channel Islanders, the nazi concentration camp on Alderney, the deportation of Jewish women by police in British uniforms and the casual xenophobia and anti semitism of the war-time British are all tackled. For the younger reader there is a lot to learn. For those of us who are older and have connections with the Holocaust there is the recognition that the pain still lingers and needs airing. THE DEAD WOMAN ON HOLIDAY in the second of the plays struck me as a powerful metaphor for all survivors, children and grandchildren of survivors alike. Overall in these plays it seems to be the strength of women and the power of love to assert itself that touches the heart.

Great Resource!
This book has been a big part of my homeschooling experience. It has given me the tools to evaluate my children and curriculum more accurately. I have a base line from where I can set new, appropriate goals. By Teresas guidelines I am able to see the things that should be reviewed and continue on with things already mastered. It has helped me to challenge my children even more.

This is a great resource for any homeschooling household or anyone with elementary age children!

This is the single most important book on African poverty you are likely to read. Ok, it doesn't compare with the scope of Cliffe's The African Poor. But it is very powerfully written and extremely insightful. Those familiar with participatory assessments will know they often find that respondents blame the poor for their plight (not surprising, we do the same in developed countries) - but these results are usually ignored by the researchers. This book demonstrates how important this finding is - not because the poor ARE to blame for their poverty, but because the stigma attached to being poor creates a social poverty trap.

Don't let the simple cover artwork fool you . . .
The recipes in this cookbook are wonderful! There is everything from a simple New York style cheesecake to a cranberry-sauce-topped cheesecake with a complicated preparation.

In addition to the wonderful recipes, the author talks a little bit about technique in the beginning of the book.

An astounding book........
Based on the premise that we all spoil much of life, by insisting on being right instead of being happy, Benjamin lays it on the line as to overcoming this failure-focused habit. It's possible to change and enjoy more of living fully and she tells us how to do it. A must read for anyone who desires the warmth of happiness within and with others.

Prayers Answered
I'm always telling people "I'll Pray for You". Before I had this journal, I would pray for a few days and then forget.

With this journal, I am reminded on a daily basis of my promises to pray.

And, because I have photos of the people I am praying for placed in the photo pockets of the journal, I am able to visualize them more vividly and pray with more passion.

It is mind-boggling to see just how many prayers are answered!
