A True Gift
The dear friend who gave me this book two years ago died suddenly last week. In reading the book again, within this new context, I am struck by the wisdom given freely and simply, beautifully demonstating the importance of the moment, the simplicity of quality rather than quantity, the gift of being truly present in our own lives. What else could possibly matter? Time can be used rather than abused, a friend instead of an enemy. The photos are well chosen, contemplative, restful and speak volumnes. I'm ordering copies to give as gifts as he did, while I have Time.

Poetic commentary combined with duo-tone photography
The Gift Of Time: Making The Most Of Your Time And Your Life is an inspiring compendium of insightful and poetic commentary combined with duo-tone photography that will enable the appreciative reader to create more meaningful time for themselves; to find serenity in a hurried modern world; to become patient, balanced, and aware within the moment; to let go of the past and turn dreams into reality; and best of all, to embrace very moment of life as an irreplaceable gift. If you only have time for a single self-help, self-improvement, inspirational, life enhancing book, make it Alexander Anderson's The Gifts Of Time.

Beautiful and Inspirational
I agree with the July 25,2001 review in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Reviewer Mary Ellen Grossman wrote, "If you're looking for a wise and beautiful gift book, this is it...". This book teaches the reader how to slow down, how to find serenity amidst chaos, how to meditate and, most important, how to live in the present moment. Bob Firth's photos, which Grossman said, "...are integrated into the text in a lovely way..", are a perfect complement to the text. I love this book! It will be my gift book of choice this year.

Bovine Bliss
Children love hearing outlandish tales of animals especially if they are true! My daughter thinks Grady is great and so we have given this book to several of her friends and it has become their favorite story at the moment too. The illustrations are so cute and the way the tale is written will keep anyone interested. Definite winner!

Bob Artley's playful color illustrations add a special touch
Grady's In The Silo is a colorful story by Una Belle Townsend about a 1,200-pound cow named Grady who becomes stuck inside a large, gray silo. How is she to get out? A variety of people put their heads together but their best efforts seem ineffective, until a reporter from Denver saves the day with sharp thinking and extra grease. Bob Artley's playful color illustrations add a special touch to this delightful and entertaining picture book for children.

Hooray! Someone finally wrote the book
What a wonderful book! Illustrations are colorful and real. My sisters, brother and I grew up in Yukon, OK, hearing this true story first hand. I was 7 years old and remember when it hapened. We have passed this story along to our children and grandchildren and are delighted that a book has finally been published. A delight to read, no matter if you are 3 or 83.

Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook: 201 Self-Promotion Ideas for Songwriters, Musicians & Bands

If they allowed ten stars, I'd give it ten.
I bought Bob's Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook - and in less than two months I've done more to energize the mechanisms to promote my new CD, and previous three CDs, than I've done in the past four years combined.  Bob Baker really got me going.

Using this book opened up the floodgates of ideas and inspirations.  More than that - it crow-barred a self-convinced "I hate promotion" guy out of his stubborn old habits and into enthusiasm - which is no dang small feat!

A "must-read" resource for all aspiring musicians
Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook: 201 Self-Promotion Ideas For Songwriters, Musicians, And Bands On A Budget by independent musician and songwriter Bob Baker, is a straightforward, "user friendly" guide to promoting one's music and increase sales. Baker covers all aspects of music marketing from designing a user-friendly web site, to exploiting music-related media, to financing a major project or equipment purchase. Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook is a "must-read" resource for all aspiring musicians and songwriters. If you are a musician or songwriter looking to promote and market your own music in the always tough, always competitive music industry, then give a careful and considered reading to Bob Baker's Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook!

Excellent Info
This book has a wealth of information for all levels of musicians and performers. I have been in this business for many years and yet still found great suggestions here. In fact, as soon as I statred reading it I was brainstorming ideas which I have since put into practice with great success. I must have for anyone who wants to further their career.

Absolutely Vital for Christian Leadership
This book is probably the best I've seen on the subject of counselling. As a teacher I have found this book useful in teaching on counselling as well as applying the principles to life situations. The book is titled, "counselling youth" but most problems that exist in adults are rooted in their youth. I have found that these principles are not only in young people but also apply to adults and their situations. Depression, anxiety, suicide etc don't vary too much with age. This book doesn't focus too much of roots of problems but does very well in dealing with the fruits. People who want to deal with the roots, read materials by John and Paula Sandford.

There Is A need For This Book In Your Library
This is the definitive work on the basics of youth counselling. McDOwell offers solid advice on how to counsel teens through nearly any problem. Frank discussion of suicide, abuse, eating disorders, family life and sexuality help the untrained counselor aid teens. The writing is easy to follow and McDowell makes a point to never get "preachy" or take the Counselor toofar down a path. He offers referal information and soundly tells the counselor at what point to find help in the counselling session. Whether you are a Senior Pastor, Youth Pastor or a volunteer youth leader this book will help you better understand the minds and struggles of young people today while helping you know the best way to help them through.

READ THIS OR YOU ARE MISSSING OUT
ANYONE NOT UNDERSTANDING TEENS WILL GET A GRASP ON A TEENS LIFE BY READING THIS YOU WILL LEARN THAT WHAT YOU SEE A TEEN DOING IS NOT WHAT THE TEEN MIGHT BE THINKING,IN OTHER WORDS YOU WILL LEARN TEEN SPEAK WITH THEIR ACTIONS NOT THEIR WORDS AND NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR MAY BE A WAY A TEEN IS CALLING OUT OR THAT FOR THE TEEN THIS IS THEIR SECURITY SO THEY DON'T FEEL THE PAIN OR GET LOOKED DOWN UPON BY OTHERS INCLUDING ADULTS BECAUSE THEY ARE STRUGGLING. FOR MANY TEENS BELIEVE THAT IT IS BETTER TO HAVE PEOPLE LOOK DOWN ON THEM BECAUSE OF BEHAVIOR RATHER THAN TO KNOW THAT THE TEEN IS HURTING.

Important Messages Said Simply
Books about vision and mission are usually excursions into the ether of fine thoughts and noble thinking. I appreciated how Boylan reduced these concepts to very practical concerns and actions that once expressed will get an organization effectively pointed in the same direction. This is a book I recommend to anyone who needs to get an organization from here to there, when the group is unclear about which "here" and which "there" is intended.

Boylan's ideas can be put immediately into practice.
Leadership isn't a commodity, but a process - one that Bob Boylan lays out clearly, step by step, so that almost anyone can follow it and put it immediately and successfully into practice in their own organizations.

Boylan's book could transform your career and your company.
I have used Boylan and the concepts from his book, at both KPMG Peat Marwick, and ARAMARK. Bob's ideas work because they are understandable, memorable and realistically actionable.

Great Place to Track your progress
I like the format of this journal. You can track exercise, food intake, alcohol, fat and sugar along with writing your thoughts and specific food if you so desire. The only thing that I do not like is his use of the term "Bad Carbohydrates." I hate the whole good food vs. bad food terminology and think that it promotes some unhealthy food issues.

Bob Greene is the BEST!
From Make the Connection to Get with the Program to Get with the Program's Guide to Healthy Eating to this Daily Journal, Bob Greene is down to earth, easy to understand, and is highly motivating and encouraging. I would recommend his books to anyone desiring to take better control of their health and fitness, and do it with a common sense approach. I see why Oprah likes him so much.

Essential Companion
If one is to spend money and time on reading the book, then they should use the daily journal to put "words into action." Set up into twelve week increments, this is enough time to record your progress and also see the results. With this notebook one can organize and record their fitness goals, exercise, and eating patterns. You can keep track of fat, sugar, carbo and alcohol intake. You can tell if your staying on track with your goals, progressing or slipping. Use it or lose it.

Praise for Ghost of Little Fawn
Wow! This story of mystery, hope and love was engaging from the beginning to the end. A really great find. Original and well-written.

GREAT READING. WILL HOLD READER SPELLBOUND
I loved this novel from the first page to the last. It has so many elements; love, action, hate, Indian lore, and mystery. The author did a great deal of research. Although a time-travel, each action seemed real and heart warming. Hope he writes many more.

Bob Kody scores a hit with The Ghost of Little Fawn
The Ghost of Little Fawn held me spellbound. Not only was it a classic western, but it also included mystery, drama, romance, time travel, and so much more. A very entertaining book and I am anxiously awaiting the author's next one! Bob Kody is a winner!

Good
It is a little wierd. You would understand it better if it wasn't a comic book. Some stories are really good, though. The thing I like about it is it introduces a new G-force.

A Great Selection of Godzilla Comics!
I am a huge fan of Godzilla, so I loved this book. I used to read the Dark Horse Godzilla comics, but I lost most of them, so I was thrilled to read this! G-Force is the coolest team ever, I'd love to member of that group! I also liked the many new monsters in the book. Bagorah, Gekido- Jin, Cybersaur, and even Hero Zero. The fighting scenes are great, these comics would easily make great Godzilla movies!

Oh man, if your a fan of Godzilla....
This comic is awesome. It's Godzilla that adults are likely to enjoy. Very well written. One of the best drawn comics I have ever laid eyes on. The creatures that Godzilla meets in this series are rad. If your kids are old enough to read, and they like the original Japanese Godzilla, this comic series will make a perfect gift for them. If only someone would make a live+CGI or an anime version of this comic and bring it to television.

Golden Images: 41 Essays on Silent Film Stars
Published in Paperback by McFarland & Company (2001)

Left You Wanting More
This book provides 4-5 page biographies of many silent film stars. Some are very familiar to film buffs such as Rudolph Valentino, the Talmadge Sisters, etc. but others are not as familiar such as Martha Mansfield, Milton Sills, etc. Golden's writing style is so easy to read and she has done a great deal of research. Many of the biographies left you wanting to read a great deal more about many of these people. I would recommend this for all silent film buffs!

Biographies of silent film giants and obscure actors
This wonderful book contains 41 short (5-6 pages each) biographies of silent film actors and actresses. Some like Clara Bow, William Haines, and Rudolph Valentino have been covered more in-depth by other biographers. However, there is no other book that covers the life and careers of Marie Prevost, Milton Sills, Arthur Johnson, Clarine Seymour, Harrison Ford (not Indiana Jones), Pearl White, and Wallace Reid. Even famous personalities who just made a few film appearances like May Irwin and Ormer Locklear are covered. Many of these performers died before the silent era was even over, which is why they are virtually unknown today. These essays were originally written for CLASSIC IMAGES magazine, but have been updated for the book. Ms. Golden's bios are well researched and very easy to read. If you are interested in silent film performers, you will want this book!

Golden showers us with excitement!
Before I read Eve's books, I couldn't tell Buster Keaton from Michael Keaton. I kept confusing Anita Page and Doris Hill with Anita Hill. This woman knows more about Virgina Bradford than Bradford herself. Her book has opened my eyes to the wonderful genre that is The Silent Movie. Eve has taught me not to laugh at the name Richard Dix. She's explained that Charlie Chaplin doesn't wear that moustache and glasses because he's in the Witness Protection Program.

I could go on forever about this book, but I think I'll leave you all with a quote from my favorite silent movie: " ".

Turns out this was just part one
HIGH AND TIGHT could have been one of those works that is closer to an overblown magazine article than a full-fledged book. But author Bob Klapisch keeps the pages turning, and it's over quicker than a 1985 at-bat against Dwight Gooden and, unlike that at-bat, leaves you wanting more. The new book HEAT by Gooden and Klapisch serves as a part two for Doc. With Darryl Strawberry's Yankees comeback and subsequent health challenges, can yet another entry be far off?

Orange and blue
High and Tight is a tried and true page-turner, an excellent sociological study of two rising urban stars who found that life in the big apple was too much for them to handle. The book also reveals some interesting stories concerning the other members of the 1986 Mets, a team divided in two camps-bible beaters and party animals.

"High and Tight" A Majestic Homerun
Having grown up and watching Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden shine for the Big Apple's "other team," I was initially afraid to read this book. I was afraid of the brutal honesty that I would encounter and about tarnishing the images of my two childhood heroes. I was right, the book is brutaly honest, yet so captivating, I really couldn't put it down. The book follows the careers of the two men from thier days growing up to their darkest hours. I really enjoyed watching both players before I read the book, but after reading it, I feel as though I know them personally and was right there with them during all of the incidents that took place. I respect these two men so much for having conqured their demons. Nothing they acomplish on the field could ever equal the magnitude of the personal victories that they have attained. Kudos to author Bob Klapisch for capturing the reader's attention with his captive descriptions of the players' individual situations.
