Good Source for Identifying Stemware
This is an excellent book for identifying good stemware that you find at garage sales, swap meets, auctions, estate sales or something left to you by a relative. The book has several hundred pictures - either actual photographs or sketches of stemware that are sorted by manufacturer. Just browse the book until you find a match and you know the manufacturer and pattern name of the item. It also has a handly index - if you happen to know the pattern name - so you can find the corresponding picture or sketch and the manufacturer. Once you know the manufacturer it's easy to get more information off the internet. The book also references a place where you may be able to get additional pieces or sell the pieces you have. My only wish is that the book gave some historical information on the various manufactures and their patterns.

This book will pay for itself!
This book is the greatest. If you haunt flea markets and garage sales like I do you need this book. It will more than pay for itself the first month you have it by allowing you to identify the mystery stemware you pick up. I take it along with me every time I go to the flea market or a garage sale. Once you know the name of your stemware you can always sell it to Replacements or on eBay and pick up a little extra cash for more junk :)

the only one you need!
This excellent reference would have saved me 6 months of fruitless searching to find the name of a discontinued pattern, if I had found it sooner. I would give this 6 stars if I could! Its completeness and layout are truly superior to anything else like it.

Ah Fickle Celebrity.......
Did you ever wonder why, because of his basketball skills, Shaq thinks he can rap or act? Or why football players point to the sky after scoring a touchdown (like God has nothing better to do then "bless them with their skils"...although it would explain all the starving children in the world) Or why even after all of the drugs and prostitutes, Charlie Sheen STILL ended up with a honey like Denise Richards? Well Chris does not address any of these issues directly in his book, but he does give us a glimpse of how nearly unreal things like this can happen, by inviting us in the "back door" of the Elliott household to witness the ugly, unvarnished side of celebrity. Living in the shadow of greatness has made it very difficult for many of todays outstanding stars (such as Melissa Rivers and Frank Sinatra Jr.) and Chris is no exception.

While not on the same artistic level as say "Little Women", if you enjoyed "Cabin Boy" or "Get a Life", or you are just a wandering wordsmith hungry for a 'feast of words', you will love this book!

(BTW, the book is obviously hooey, and just another helping of Chris Elliott humour).

Chris Elliot
When Chris Elliot was busted for the same thing Paul Rubens was a few years back, I had to pull out this hillarious account of life with his father. I now realise that this book is a work of fiction, and I realise, Chris elliot is a liar. His album "Red Beefy Mighty Meaty" (Import Bookleg Only) Was even worse. He made jokes about child porn!! That is sick, and so his he. HIs father also worked on this book, writing some alternating chapters. His father, (Part of the comedy team Bob & Dave) is also a convicted felon. This guy needs to get sober, clean and start living a life away from pree-schools and women's changing rooms. Don't by this lie of a book

This book will make you pee.
Chris Elliott takes you on a candid journey through his tormented life as the son of a famous Father. You will relive a day in an AA meeting where Chris is drinking Rob Roy's, and all the time wondering why they can't have one or two without feeling the urge to drink themselves into oblivion. He takes you to his fatty teen years where he has to be carried to school in a crane, and accompany Him on a fateful trip on the Andrea Doria. This book is without a doubt the best book I've ever read!! I've read it 4 times, and I'll keep rereading it.

Astonishing .... Sure to be a Classic!
I was blown away upon finally viewing and reading my copy of Dragonhenge. I had seen slides of some of the art, along with portions of the text as it was in final creative stages. But now, all together at last, it is a seemless and timeless masterpiece. Bob's glowing and stunning images flow beautifully within and around John's mesmerizing text, creating a visual and verbal feast for the imagination. This lovely book whispers the reality of the wisdom of the ancients, the dragon-like mythological beings who existed before the beginning of time itself. You must get a copy of this book.... no get several copies to share with everyone. It will become a classic!! Jael

Dragonhenge.. superb collaboration of two geniuses
Dragonhenge is a mesmerizing collaboration between Author John Grant and Artist Bob Eggleton. Both of these creators are well known for their many other ventures. John Grant/aka Paul Barnett, is a Chesley award winning art director, Editor, as well as being a brilliant and prolific Author. John Grant also wrote the lovely text for my book _Perceptualistics_. Then there's our Bob who's earned so many Hugo and Chesley Awards with his astonishing art through these many years.

Dragonhenge, however, is something starkly unique, a seamless blending of text and art, softly framing lyrical mythological tales, passed down for thousands of years by ' the master story tellers', "Dragons".... many of them having been created well before time itself. You must pick up a book. Be sure to read it under soft lights, where multi-layered shadows will reflect the glowing imagery, and where the words will leap off the page and enter your soul. It's a wonderful wonderful book. Jael

Dragonhenge
This is an extraordinary book; a book that takes a concept and builds legends around it. In reading it, you feel as though you have stumbled on a long-lost trove of lore from a vanished race.

The book is presented as a series of legends about a race of dragons, from their "how we came to be" origins tale through mythic explainations of where their powers came from and how their society developed. Eggleton's illustrations are beautiful, running from very tightly-sculpted depictions to much looser work that evokes a sense of time and space while presenting only form and color for the eyes.

This is a book that is sure to end up on all the dragon lovers' "wish list."

The Gate

Outstanding, action-packed adventure tale
The Gate was an excellant, thrill-packed literary ride. A splendid mixture of fictional action and actual or imagined historical events. Being a native of San Francisco, I paid attention to his geographic details and found only a couple of minor ones. The action, the drama, dialog and characters were well-paced and fleshed out just enough to keep the story going. North Korean commandos, Yakuza killers, rogue CIA gunmen, wacko milita-types, murder, great plot-twists, mayhem and a great plot were all handled exceptionally well. Mr. McGuire has a minor thriller classic here. A terrific film if done correctly. I finished this one and promptly began reading The Line. Entertaining page-turning nighttime reading. Check it out.

Intriguing concept.
I enjoyed this book. Brought up several things I had to consider-- one was the Japanese atomic bomb program in WWII. The other was the idea of deals being made at the end of that war. Maybe the decision to drop our bomb occurred for reasons we'll never know. The story was set in present day San Francisco but it covered a lot of history.

GREAT READ
I really enjoyed this book. I had not heard about the Japanese atomic bomb program in World War II. Went to the library to check on this and there seems to be more truth to this work of fiction than appears. Would make a great movie! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Pretty Good
Cut-Out had plenty of action and suspense, as well as many plot twists I simply couldn't have imagined. Once again, Bob Mayer demonstrates that he definetly knows his stuff when it comes to special ops, being a former Green Beret himself. The book was a little on the short side, though, at 238 pages

A taut suspense adventure thriller
The fourth Dave Riley book and well worth the wait. This one has Riley assisting a lady friend from the previous book, a Chicago police detective, with a Mob member who goes into the Witness Security Program. Things go wrong as people are murdered, hired killers pursue Riley and company across the wilderness to a terrific climax. No one can be trusted, phones are tapped, ruthless professional hit men and government agents are using all their skills and power to stop the witness and his wife and whoever they are with. Then Riley enters the picture and with his military skills and courage tries to outwit the killers. Great storyline, the plot is filled with turns and corners. Fresh dialog and smooth action scenes propel the reader into this nebulous and dangerous world. Good stuff, Bob. More Dave Riley. I am currenly waiting for Eternity Base and I cannot locate a copy of Z anywhere. Keep up the great work, Robert, the ending to this one sizzles. Also, check out The Line and The Gate (written as Bob McGuire) for more adventures with a twist.

a great and must read!
I enjoyed it, devoured it in one night! What can I say? A book simply put and plotted with a natural in-depth touch. The Witness Protection(Security?) Program just made me sick with disgusting taste! Read it, my friends, read all of Mr. Mayer's Riley titled books, you won't be disappointed

Disciple Making Teachers
Lots of good ideas and encouragment for teaching adult classes. Great for new teachers or old ones who want to brush-up their skills. Very Biblically oriented -- not just a new fad on teaching, but a good balance of true Biblical discipleship and fresh, up-to-date ideas. WORTH READING!!! I plan to keep my copy to refer back to it in the years ahead.

Are you an effective teacher?
Josh Hunt has done an excellent job with this book. Two very strong benefits the reader will glean from this book are 9 Types of Questions and what it means to Review in a Bible Study context. The benefits from understanding and applying these two sections of Hunt's work will be great and teachers will find they are becoming more effective in teaching the Bible.

Dragon Sim 13
I first read Dragon Sim 13 when I was in junior high. It sparked my young, impressionable imagination. It ingrained images of Special Operations into Red China as directed by a computer program. What was only to some a simulation, was life or death to others. Fighting the Communist cause, no names, no faces, no identities period. For anyone who likes military fiction, this book is one of the best.

A fast paced special ops adventure tale
The second book in the Dave Riley series about Special Forces operations around the world. A really enjoyable read, plenty of suspense, good character developement, a lot of inside info on Green Beret team spirit and their mission planning and fighting ability. A great plot and the fast pace keep the reader guessing until the end. A special ops into China that suddenly goes awry with some cost to the team involved. I sure hope HBO grabs the Riley series and works on them, a sure fire hit for the action fans. Also highly recommended by Mr Mayer (writing as Bob McGuire) are The Line and The Gate. Terrific books. Keep 'em coming, Bob. In fact, I will be loaning the books I have read to a couple of buddies.

One of the best special ops books I've ever read.
Rates right up there with the Five Fingers, Never So Few, Bravo Two Six. This is excellent military fiction that is very realistic.

the home garden handbooks
I am looking for someone that knows something about old books like the home garden handbook published in 1927

No finer book for the finer points of Excel
I am a heavy duty user of Excel and I support users of the application too. This is one of the best books I have seen on Excel's most powerful features. The chapters on array formulas and range names are the best I have read on the subject. This book is outstanding. I am here writing this review because I was hoping to order a copy for work.

Very good for those who want to know Excel more
One of the excellent book of Excel. However it is out of stock. I lent it from the library and can't find it from any book store. I hope the publisher will re-printed it.

Fatso
The book fatso was very funny book, and had alot of very funny stories to tell. I liked the book alot because of the stoies that were told were very funny. Sometimes the stories would get old but that was just because they was so many. I would recommened this book to anyone who likes to hear stories. Overall the book was a good book.

A classic, a must read for all sports fans.
This is one of the best sports books I've ever read. I believe
even non-sports fans would enjoy Arthur Donovan's life story.
If you are looking for a quick read, something to pass the time
on an airplane flight, or if you just like reading colorful
stories of a time past this is the book for you.

Best sports biography ever
Art Donovan was the best defensive tackle ever to play football, and his story of life in the NFL is fascinating and entertaining. Never one to mince words, Art freely expresses his views, particularly on the state of the modern-day NFL; in fact, his candidness brought about the end of his stint as a sportscaster, when he told a national audience what he thought of Bob Hayes' failure to stand for the playing of the national anthem. His wonderful sense of humor and keen insights into both human nature and professional football have made him a popular guest on the talk-show circuit, and give this book an irresistible appeal. There is a wealth of hilarious anecdotes and observations, and any reader would be hard-pressed to avoid laughing at them. Art Donovan is not only a great athlete - he is also a great man, and this book deserves to be read and appreciated. In fact, one need not be a football fan to enjoy this wonderful book. Way to go, Art!
