POWEREFUL!
This is such a powerful book. It contains many people's descriptions of angel visitations. If you ever wondered if they truly exist, you will wonder no more!Carmen, the author had her own visitation and was told to write this book!God bless Caren Chapman for this book

It Will Touch Your Heart
I recommend this book for anyone who has ever felt alone, needed a friend, questions their own divine beginning, or wants to receive inspiration on such fundamental questions as "Where did I come from?", "Why am I here?", and "What will happen to me once this life is over?" The fact that half the royalties support those in true need is an added bonus.

"A Word From The Angels"
"A Word From The Angels" has deeply transformed my life. At an extremely low point in my life, I read this miracle book. It gives full and beautiful accounts of actual angel experiences by everyday normal people. All of the stories each person has to tell, showers one with great chills, knowing they are true. To read this book, truely changes one's life. It has had this same effect on my friends who have read it.If you are ready, it will indeed transform your life. Thank you, Carmen for sharing these wonderfully inspiring stories.

An Awesome Book!!!
I LOVED this book. Anyone that likes animals, Africa or adventures will like this book. This book does a great job of expressing what it would be like to live in the wilds of Africa. It also has great photos!

An absorbing read packed with details
The natural history filmmaker authors have lived in the African bush for over twenty years: their lifestyle and work with wildlife is profiled in a diary of their world documenting their work. Any with an interest in African life will find The Africa Diaries an absorbing read packed with details and a 'you are there' atmosphere. Color photos complete the effect.

The Africa Diaries: An Illustrated Memoir of Life in the Bus
After so many outstanding Joubert wildlife films, we finally get to know more about the great people behind the lenses! The Joubert's second book is a classic African wildlife-book and a must for any fan of this great continent. Two books came to my mind while I devoured this wonderful book: "Serengeti shall not die" and "Cry of the Kalahari" - all three have the following in common: an honest, down-to-earth description of life among Africa's spectacular wildlife; a long-term conservation-approach; a unique way of putting the reader right in the middle of the bush-action with wonderful words and stunning photographs. The African Diaries are must-reading for any traveller to the great dark continent. Having experienced the mentioned locations many times myself this book brings back fond memories of Africa's last true wilderness area. My recommendation is to first see one of the Joubert's classic wildlife films and then to enjoy the "read behind the scenes". One will not be disappointed!

great book!
This book is really good for art students and medical students if you want the deteils. I highly recommand it!

For art students, this book is GREAT!!!!!!
Albinus on Anatomy is a great book. I am a printmaking student; My teacher introduced this book to me when I asked her about detailed etchings of the human figure. I love how intricate and delicate the lines are to create figure. They remind me of the prints of Rembrandt. For anyone interested in art, I really suggest this book. It's great for those studying to be medical illustrators, print students, the everyday sketchers.......ANYONE! It's also great for those who just love to learn about the anatomy of the body.

A beautiful and acurate anatomy lesson for artists
This oversized book contains over 200 illustrations of the human body, posed so as to be of use to the artist studying the human form. Beautiful and highly accurate, the book can be a valuable tool for the artist wishing to improve his skill through a better knowledge of human anatomy. Albinus himself is not solely responsible for the engravings. He collaborated with an artist who did the drawings and finally the copper plate engravings of the figure. In the meantime, Albinus arranged the poses and oversaw the process from rough sketches to the manipulations of the printing press, ensuring that the accuracy and quality of the images were preserved. The figures are represented with various layers of tissue exposed, first the nude model, then the outer layer of muscle, the next layer of muscle, the organs, down to the bare skeletons. Each layer has an anterior and a posterior view. The potential for the engravings to become a grim lesson on internal anatomy is offset by the engraving artist¹s whimsy. He was allowed artistic freedom with the background on each plate, and the settings range from a Greek temple to a verdant forest. In one plate a rhinoceros grazes directly behind the model. For the student of anatomy, each bone is taken individually, and the proportions, muscle attachments, and major connective tissue are shown for each in turn. A passionate introduction to drawing the human body starts the book off, and a complete index ties it together. The playful, detailed drawings make this book attractive to the artist and the art admirer alike. For its size and complexity, this book is a great buy.

Perfect for newlyweds or longwed couples.
This book has everything from my favorite things to how tocheer me up and in the back has some "cute" coupons for yourhusband to share his time and love with me. When I was going through the book, I thought how awesome this was. My husband and I have only been married for 2 and 1/2 years and it still seemed that I didn't know him and vica-versa. This book helped us to peer into each others deep thoughts. I loved it!!!!! I loved it so much that I also got the All About Him book to go along with it!

What do you mean he can't read your mind?
Some how when a special occasion or a holiday approaches my mate forgot who I was and what was important to me. Now, there is no question how he will handle life's little bumps in the road, or special holidays. No longer will I be presented with that onion bagel at 5:45 a.m. when my true desire is a cinnamon roll at 8:00 a.m. I was able to fill out this book in a short evening. Now he has a place to go to for inspiration and ideas on how to handle me, my mood and my heart's desires. It is so easy! Makes a great bridal shower gift, or gift in a new relationship!

At last! This book does it!
If you're a woman fed up with getting gifts like a blender for her anniversary, this book is for you! Let him get to know you, the REAL you. He doesn't have to read your mind, he can read this book! Men love this book, it makes things SO much easier for them. My husband uses it all the time, and I'm so glad!

This is an excellent counseling tool for troubled youth
Buddy Goes to Canterbury Camp is an exceptional novel about a teenage boy faced with tremendous pressure to choose a path tainted toward destruction or a path of positive change.

During the course of the story, Buddy is sent to live with an older couple who are the owners of Canterbury Camp. The couple demonstrates unconditional love toward Buddy and the other teenage boys who live at the camp; thus cultivating an atmosphere of inner healing and revitalization of broken hearts and spirits. Buddy and the other teenage boys are given a second chance at their lives, while incorporating positive character changes.

The author stresses intergrity a great deal in her book, and the importance of developing a sense of overall purpose for one's life which is essential for the main character to develop.

I applaud Ms. Jones for writing such a brilliant piece of work at such a time as this; youth today need guidance and character keys such as intergrity that will enable them to become future leaders of tomorrow equipped with strong moral and personal values.

My desire is to see this book at every grade school and high school across the country as a counseling tool to help troubled youth. This book is a necessary counseling tool and if you are a counsellor like myself whether in the field of law or social work or teaching . . . "Buddy Goes to Canterbury Camp" would provide and answer countless questions that one might have on the topic of troubled youth.

This is a masterpiece -- we should all hope for a sequel.

Excellent tool for instilling integrity into today's youth
After reading this book, I believe the author has hit upon something that has been overlooked in today's youth. Every parent should read this book along with their child. It is excellent for teaching youths integrity and instilling principles that will last a life-time. In light of all the school shootings in this country, I believe what is taught in this book will help prevent such events from happening again. If we teach kids to love themselves, then they are less likely to get involved in self-destructive behavior.

a book every mother and child should read
Buddy Goes To CanterBury Camp is an exceptional book which should and must be read by both parentand children. It is a counseling tool that help parents understand what is inside of their children. Thanks for writing such a great book.

Useful Community College Insights
All who work at a comunity college are important in achieving the college's mission. But it is the president who set the vison and provides the leadership. If he or she is weak and fails in any fashion the college, the students and the community suffer.

What are the characteristics of a good president? How do they monitor themselves? Are they born leaders or do they train themselves. What are the main demographic characteristics of presidents? What majors did most college presidents pursue in college? What is the average compensation and term of office? What role do their spouses assume at the college? Finally what does a panel of successful presidents see happening in the years ahead?

All of these questions and more are answered in this clearly written book. It is a useful resource for those interested in a career in administration, in learning more about college presidents or just in being better informed.

The Community College Presidency
I was a student in Dr. Mellander's doctoral seminar on Community Colleges. This was one of the textbooks we used. It is
well written, concise and prag, matic. Very useful.

The Community College Presidency
Good, factual, useful for those interested in studying the community college presidency. Published by the American Association of Community Colleges.
What do presidents do, how did they become presidents? etc. What implicit advice can one glean?
Also has a useful section on the future of community colleges and their presidents as seen by successful presidents.
Sound academic research but presented in layperson terms.

A life line
This book is a life line for people who continue to be damaged by parental abuse as adults. It is one thing to forgive the distant past of our childhoods, but quite another to put up with abuse as an adult. God bless Beverly Engel for sharing her insights and encouragement. I wish she (or someone) would write another book for people who have NOT been abused explaining why it is inappropriate and sometimes cruel to pressure others, like coworkers or complete strangers, to express love and devotion to their parents no matter what. Would it really cost anyone anything to mind their own business or give another the benefit of the doubt about their most personal choices?

The book really works!
I am a 65-year-old gay man and for years endured the negative judgments of my mother, father, and sister. Using several techniques outlined clearly in Beverly Engel's book, I was able to free myself from the pain and hurt and move on with my life. I am deeply grateful to the author for her insights into love and pain. The best "how-to" book I have ever read.

this book changed my life
when i was given this book by my therapist i was at a crossroads in my life that meant i was going to lose my life over some crazy people who gave birth to me and raised me or i had to fight for my life in order to raise my daughters without the same sickness i was raised with. this book gave me the courage to stand up for myself and make a break from the two people who were supposed to love me. i saw by what the author was saying that we are not all blessed with parents who have the best intentions. i was able to send them letters that broke any ties with them . it has been seven years since i have seen or spoken to them and i still battle old ghosts but i at least have the support of this book to remind myself i made the right decision by choosing my life over the people who will never change in order to have a fairly decent relationship with me.

Good book
Eleven-year-old Livvy Hudson's life is shattered when her mother dies of cancer. Livvy now has no support for her skating, and her dad has turned into a hermit. But one day her dad decides that he wants to move to Alpine Lake to get away from all the memories of Livvy's mother. Livvy is upset that she will have to leave everything and everyone behind, especially her coach. But Apline Lake turns out to better than Livvy thought, especially since she now lives in the same town as her pen pal. But Livvy is still unable to get a new coach or lessons. Will her Olympic dreams ever come true? I really liked this book, even though I am not into figure skating.

the Shunning
I have read all of Beverly Lewis adult books and long for more. I am intrigued by the stories of Lancaster County Pa. Looking forward to more tales of the simple life. Beverly, thank you very much for soothing "winter" reading. I really enjoyed your stories.

Dreams On Ice is great!
Dreams On Ice by Beverly Lewis is a fabulous story about an eleven year old girl named Olivia Hudson. Her dreams of becoming a professional figure skater are put on hold when she and her dad move to Alpine Lake, Colorado after her mom dies from cancer. Olivia makes friends in some unexpected places and begins to really enjoy her new home. I love it when she gets to meet her pen pal and finds a place to skate. I enjoyed this book because I like to ice skate like Olivia. I have read nearly all of Beverly Lewis' Cul-De-Sac Kids books and this book in the Girls Only series is just as wonderful. I'm looking forward to reading the 3 other books in this series. by Kaitlyn Drennan, 10 years old
