Excellant
After finally finding this book I was glad that I did. This was a true love story. It was so different than most of the stories that I have read because the main character was blind. Augusta was a real strong person and when she fell in love with Todd there were true sparks and passion.

Miss Clark did a very good job researching the information for this book. I enjoyed learning as I was reading.

The ending is very surprising, you will not want to put this book down so you can see what happens next. I read this book within 2 days and enjoyed every minute of it.

Very Impressed!
I truly enjoyed this story and it was well done by Ms. Clark. The research that she puts into the storyline leaves the reader feeling the pain Augusta must endure and the painful guilt that the Hero must experience. To not give the subject of the plot away, you will find at the end the full awareness of the subject matter and the growing deep love that was developed between this couple. If you like Beverly Clark's work check out her other two books: A Love To Cherish and The Price of Love.

Beautiful Love Story
I read this book two years ago and couldn't put it down. I'm not the type who loves to read a lot of books. But I know a good book when I read one. This book is "must read". I let a friend read this book & I've never received it back. I'm here to purchase the book again & give you all my opinion. Take my word & purchase this book. You will definitely enjoy this Awesome story.

I Am Killer Resume -- Be Afraid!
WORD-UP!

Having recently purchased 16 books on the subject and a professional in the field, I suggest you'll be in deep trouble if one of your competitors reads this book before you.

It is, at once, the supreme effort on the market.

Best you read it FIRST and learn what makes a "rez-u-may" SELL. (You'll also learn to love "Peanut Butter Sandwiches".)

For those intensely serious about a great resume, I suggest two additional five-star books:

1. "Gallery of Best Resumes" by David Noble. Terrific examples of excellent layout and design.

2. "Resumes for Dummies" by Joyce Kennedy. All around good advice.

Follow the suggestions in these three books and you'll consistently write a winning resume.

Remember, "WORDS" can change your life.

Don't think so? Here are some that will: "Watch Out!", "Call 911!", "Earthquake!", "Guess What.", "I Want Volunteers.", "We're Downsizing.", and "I Do."

Still don't think so? Unless you're brain-dead, THESE WORDS will:

"Here's Your Pink Slip." "Where's My Parachute?" "I Need A Job." "What time can you come in for an interview?", and

"YOU'RE HIRED!"

When you hear the above, it's a right proper time to suddenly "Go Forth And Put Asunder".

Brandish & Vanquish with your secret weapon known as "My Killer Resume".

All competitors shall Be Afraid!

An outstanding "how to" resume building guide.
In 40 Minute Power Resume, Beverly Hill shows how to create a personal resume that truly separates and showcases your talents, skills, and abilities from those of others. She guides you through the construction of an effective and distinctive resume through a simple step-by-step processes in easy-to-understand language, while enabling you to highlight your own diverse accomplishments and experience in an competent and professional manner. This "hands on" manual provides resume writing insights and practical examples of professional resume building that will prove invaluable for those newly entertaining the job market, anyone who is re-entering the job market after an absence for family or schooling, as well as those seeking to improve their career opportunities through transferring to a more challenging, lucrative, or career advancing position elsewhere.

Better Than Rehabilitative Alimony
As a divorce attorney, I frequently encounter clients (generally women) who must reenter the work force or find better-paying jobs. At this time in their lives, they have low self-esteem and no idea where or how to start; therefore, I am constantly on the lookout for something that will assist them far more than the few months of rehabilitative alimony I might be able to wring out of their former spouses. Since coming across this book, I have recommended it to many clients. Ms. Hill's approach gives them confidence, direction, and the power to take control of their lives.

A thorough and meaty book
The development of the breed is explained and its relationship to the Sussex, Field and English Cocker breeds is defined. The photos are charming. The section on Form vs function is worth the price of the book. This is one book you shouldn't overlook. Dog Fancy Magazine

A breed book difficult to parallel
The range of information is immense. A facinating book with a different approach and by today's standards good value for the money. For Cocker enthusiasts this is an encylopedia of the breed which would be difficult to parallel. Our Dogs Magazine of England

An excellent reference volume
Dr. Grossman has written what must be the final work on the American Cocker Spaniel. The author has written with clarity, and a tuch of humor sparkles in his style. Every owner of a Cocker will want to own this excellent book as a valuable reference and as a real source of practical information. American Kennel Club Gazette

Catch a Falling Star
I just finished reading "Catch a Falling Star" and I really liked it. I am a senior citizen and have always liked Beverly Lewis' books, but this is the first one I've read that was about young people. I write stories, plays, etc. for young people and am a teacher in Sunday School and Children's Church so I like books for younger people. Now I have a lot more Beverly Lewis books to read.
Love,

Excellent Guide for Those Suffering The Pain of Abuse
I could not put this book down. Most "self-help" books lay on my shelf half read, but this one was a real page turner. The author does an excellent job describing the forms of emotional abuse and helps you understand the dynamics behind it. She also provides helpful information in the book for the abuser. The best part of her book is the information she provides at the end of the book for changing your life so you can begin to seek out healthy relationships. She provides concrete, tangible things you can do to help raise your self-esteem and to identify the warning signs in possible abusers!

The Emotionally Abusive Relationship
I would like to thank you for publishing the book by Ms. Beverly Engel, entitled "The Emotionally Abusive Relationship" . This book was well worth the time and effort it took to read and, I am convinced that if others had an opportunity to experience what I gained from this reading it would force them to look deep within and possibly gain an understanding of themselves. Ms. Engles book, The Emotionally Abusive Relationship was recommended to me by my wife, who believed that I was emotionally abusive. I was told to underline passages within the book because she felt that they pertained to the way I was treating (mistreating) her. I agreed to read the book and carry out her wishes, well upon reading the book it turned out that she was the cause of hers and our emotional abuse. This book described my wife to a tee, which she still denies. In order for one to understand ones problem one must first admit that there is a problem unfortunately others would rather blame others for their own inner turmoil's.

Ms. Engles kudos to you and your fabulous work and for the advice you rendered, you're my blessing in disguise.

Sincerely

Ron Owens

An important book on emotional abuse
Beverly Engel is a terrific writer and her knowledge and sensitivity make this book absolutely vital to anyone trying to understand, improve, or get out of an emotionally abuse relationship. I highly recommend it -- it has been a real source of comfort and knowledge to me as I've tried to understand why I find myself in emotionally abusive relationships again and again.

Shooting Star----Make a Wish Iggey
Hope, Fear, Near Tragedy, Suspense, Friendship, Humor, and most af all, a touching story of Love. It is all here in, " A Flower For Iggey ". The emotional sensitivity of this story brought out the best in me when I wrote the music for it. Thank you and Bless you Beverly....Love, Sal

A Flower for Iggey
This book teaches a lesson in friendship, and our whole family enjoyed reading it. My daughter's school recently added "A Flower for Iggey" to their library.

A Flower for Iggey
I do know the author and the music composer. I have heard the music and it is beautiful. This is a must to read for all of the kids that want drama in their life and a real hero. This is a non-violent book, maybe too tame for these days. My husband did some of the artwork. I hope this book gets discovered soon. My favorite pet is featured in the story, a dusky green conure similar to the hero in the Paulie movie. It is based on real life...our favorite tropical pets.

A Great Book
This book is a great story and is somewhat a secondary book to Belle and the Beau.

The leading character in this story is Josephine Best, Daniel younger sister, and is very set in her goals. She owns a hairstyling shop, been to college, and is dating George Brooks who is passive and not really her type.

Then she meets Adam Morgan, Daniel's friend from way back, who is famous for his charm with the ladies. Jojo knows that she can't get caught up in that... but somehow she just cant help it. She tries to resist Adam. But does it work? Do these two who seem destined to be together work it out? Or does this romance fall apart?

I highly recommend this to anyone who love historical romance... definatly a five star book!!

Shades Of Romance Magazine Review

Seventeen year old Josephine Best had a life long dream to own her on beauty shop.

JoJo didn't bother with affairs of the heart, because she had more other important things on her mind. With the war coming to the end, JoJo had her sights set on marketing her hair products. JoJo was not looking for love, when she met George Brooks, a wounded soldier on medical leave. George convinced her to allow him to court her.

Casanova, Adam Morgan has known Josephine most of her life. When he joined the military she was young girl who was always getting trouble. Upon his return, he met a gorgeous, sophisticated, extraordinary young women who stole his heart away.

When Adam found out that the young lady was JoJo his best friend's younger sister he could not believe his eyes. Because his reputation preceded him JoJo had no mind to consider Adam as a beau, even though she was attracted. Both JoJo and Adam tried desperately to stay away from each other. But one kiss let them know that it was impossible. Their heart had already been pierced by cupid's arrow and they had eyes only for each other.

Touché to Ms. Jenkins on this excellent bouquet of emotions. A magnificent romance that brought memories of my first real love. I rated this great piece of art 5***** stars.

Sweet Love
If you have read any other books from this series, you know that they are simply fantastic. Belle and the Beau features JoJo, who's story is in Josephine and the Soldier. JoJo is Daniel's little sister, the man that Belle married in the aforesaid novel.
JoJo's story is my personal favorite in the series(so far. In Belle and the Beau, Adam Morgan and his brother Jeremy used to tease their best friends little sister all the time, calling her "Pest" and aggravint her to no end. When the brothers move to Canada, the Best family thinks that that is the last they will ever see or hear from the Morgans. But it's not!
Adam is injured in the civil War and returns to his old town where several soldiers are staying. Mrs. Best offers him a place in their home, since she always loved the Morgans like her own sons.
When Adam see his little "Pest" again, he doesn't even recognize her! She is grown up and beautiful, taking his breath away. However, the Jo remebers Adam and Jere was that they unending charm towards the ladies, always "picking flowers", and they stayed that way. That is, until Adam sees JoJo.
JoJo treis to ignore the way Adam makes her fell, but she simply can't. She has her eye on another man, after all, who's asked to call on her. But, then how does Adam make her feel in ways that no other man ever has? She loves him, and he her, bu whereas Adam is willing to admit to it and put an end to his "flower picking days", JoJo does not believe him....yet.
Read this book, but only after you read Belle and the Beau. Knowing the two's history together makes this even more charming and hilarious then it would be, READ IT!

Not sure if this book is still useful in 2000.
I used to think that this was the best resume book on the market. It helps you to understand that a resume should be something carefully crafted and designed with a goal in mind. I'm just not sure how useful it is in 2000. Today your resume is entered into a database and a search is done on key words to find you. This book needs to be updated. The last update was in 1989. A lot has changed in the hiring industry since then. Why has this book not been updated?

Good material for building a job search campaign
This is an excellent book. Together with other books, this is what is needed in a job search. The author has done a great job in pulling together the elements which spell success in the quest for employment. I recommend it.

Do you have the guts to change?
When I was out of work, and wanting to make a career change, I went to the library and, literally, checked out a three foot stack of resume and cover letter books.

I sat them next to my couch, got a glass of iced tea and went to work perusing the pages. Right away it was evident that, for the most part, the only thing different about these how to tomes was their cover. Inside was the same tired advice and the same over used examples of resumes and cover letters.

Guess what? As an employee candidate your job is to stand out from the crowd, not blend in with it.

I had just about given up on my reading (and was getting more depressed by the minute) when I came across "Who's Hiring Who?" I could tell right away that it was different, the question was, would I have the guts to run free, as the book encouraged, or would I continue to run with the herd?

When I read "Who's Hiring Who" I was three months into a job search. After this much time spent looking for work (and I was at it 12 hours a day!) I told myself that my resume, which took form based upon a lot of the ancient advice in the mainstream resume books, wasn't working and I wasn't going to lose anything by trying the advice in "Who's Hiring Who?"

It took me a week to read the book, really think about the suggestions it made, and then distill it's principles into my new QUALIFICAITONS BRIEF. No more resumes! Other no mores? No more worrying about a spotty work history. No more worrying about an incomplete (that means little or no college) education. The book tells you the best ways to accentuate the positive and marginalize the negative.

Within two weeks I had several job offers on the table. Within a month I had done more than get a job, I had successfully changed careers and was working for a hot software company with benefits out the wazoo and a pay rate higher than I'd hoped for!

(Since then I've read Tom Peter's book, "Circle of Innovation" (I think that was the book), which, when talking about resumes says who cares about education, companies want to know what you've done. What have your successes been? This is one thing "Who's Hiring Who?" focuses on.)

My advice to you? Buy the book, follow its advice and have the guts to change!

Bottoms up!
There's lots more in this book than just recipes--great info on giving a cocktail party, etc. I especially liked the author's personal touch--like the stories about her younger days and learning that there's more to drink out there than just "house wine" or beer. Good appetizer recipes, too.

Here's to a Great Book about Drinking
I got this book so I could figure out how to make a mint julip for a Derby Day party. We had so much fun, we decided to work our way through a few of the other recipes.

Let me recommend the Chocotini -- chocolate liqueur and cocoa. Almost better than sex.

Meanwhile, the cosmopolitan, which gets a lot of attention on Sex and the City, is sweet and girlish for a woman who usually drinks scotch neat.

Anyway, if you're looking for basic bartending instructions or just a good time, I recommend this book.

A Great Gift
Someone just gave me this book as a gift and it was a great surprise. It's almost as much fun to read as to make a party around. It's funny and packed with terrific drinks. Try the high-octane Havana Delight. It's like a Frappaccino...only much better!

The Most Loved Sitcom of All-Time
The critics hated and audiences loved it. CBS only put it on the air because they had no other good sitcoms in the fall of 1962. What happened was a revolution in sitcoms. "The Beverly Hillbillies" went on to become one of the biggest hits in the history of television. It climbed to the top of the ratings faster than any sitcom in history. It is no wonder that forty years later audiences still love this show. With the exception of "I Love Lucy", not other sitcom has been so durable and successful in syndication. Thanks to Mr. Stephen Cox for writing a book about a sitcom that truly deserves such recognition. "The Beverly Hillbillies" was a runaway hit and a phenomenon. But, for me, it is simply a funny show that I don't mind watching over and over again.

Up comes a bubblin' great book
Another winner for Steve Cox! His relaxed writing style makes for a fantastic read, and the photos compiled for it really make this collection stand out. A must-have for any fan of the BH, or heck - TV for that matter.

Long live the Clampetts!
For anyone who is a fan of "The Beverly Hillbillies" (or is interested in TV history) this is the book for you! Steve Cox has a way of writing that makes you feel as if he is in your own living room telling you the remarkable story of the Clampetts. The book contains: fantastic black & white and color photos, behind the scenes stories, great interviews with the cast, an episode guide and a detailed history of America's favorite hillbilly family. So set a spell with Steve Cox as your guide and relive all the fun and laughter of The Beverly Hillbillies. Y'all read up now y'hear.
