This is a GREAT story!
I have been looking for this book since my babysitter read it to my sister and I when I was seven! I was entirely enchanted by this story and although I can't remember the details, I can say that it sits close to my heart. Without question I will be sharing it with my children and strongly recommend it to anyone with or without children!

Fond memories of reading this book with my daughter.
I first bought this book for my daughter when she was about 10. She really enjoyed the book and I feel it made her more sensitive to other children that were different. Recently, while we were talking about what we've read lately she asked if I remembered this book she had when she was a child & said she wished she still had her copy. So, with the help of Amazon.com I was able to locate another copy for her. She is now expecting her first child and what a lovely story to pass down to the next generation. We love Clarrisa Mae Bean.

What a great mamadrama!
This enchanting educational experience communicates to children of all ages the importance of washing their hands. The rhythmic prose is a delight to read; the illustrations are bright and bold, and questions in bubbles - a "bubblequest" - engage readers throughout the book. "Germs on their fingers" is a first of its kind in heightening multicultural awareness: read the book front to middle, and it's in English; flip it over and read it back to middle, it's in Spanish! By asking the reader to "decide upon which worry your action should take," "Germs" fosters community involvement. With "Germs on their fingers", author Wendy Wakefield Ferrin has made a promising debut on the "Mamadrama" scene. I highly recommend this book to parents, teachers, child care providers, even restaurant owners. It's wonderful!

A new way to look at germs
This book is imaginative and creative. I loved it and I would recommend all parents read this to your child to get them to wash their hands before coming to the dinner table. Just amazing.

Delicious !
The book is well organized and the instructions are clear with step-by-step illustration. The measurements are accurate and it always looks like the picture. I would say the decoration of the dishes is a bit old fashioned (80s style), but you can always add your own touch. I really like the idea of having all the pictures in the beginning and the recipes after that. The recipes are so delicious and everything I tried was great. The party stuffed chicken is a top request on every occasion.

This is a very good book, however, if you already have The Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook, I do not think you should get this one, because most of the recipes are the same -or very similar. But if this is your first Good Housekeeping Cookbook, then it is highly recommended.

A good start.
I got this book when I moved into my first apartment alone. A great start to basic cooking information and recipes.

A great addition...
Grace Beaumont was living in an emotionless void for four years after the deaths of not only her father and her husband, but her unborn child as well. When she gets a letter stating that the accident was no accident, Grace feels she has no choice but to pursue justice for the people that she loved and lost. She turns to the Dundee Agency, and the bodyguard they send, Jed Tyree. Suddenly she her feelings are not only back, but intensified as she and Jed get closer and closer. Soon she realizes that while she may not have cared if she lived or died, she doesn't want to lose out on a second chance to love.

Jed Tyree has a bigger agenda than only protecting Grace. The more he falls for her, the more he realizes what a big mistake keeping the full truth from her was. He's not who she thinks he is. While she is on the top rung on the social ladder, he isn't even on the ladder. He soon realizes that there is no way they have a future together.

As the danger comes to a boil, both realizes that they won't give the other up. With her flair for romance and suspense combined, Barton doesn't dissapoint the reader in the new 'Protector' book.

exciting romantic suspense
Three years ago, a car accident killed Gracie Beaumont's father, husband and unborn child and for all effective purposes Grace is only going through the motions of living. The father of a rich man and the wife of a powerful person, Grace took over the reigns of Sheffield Media Inc. as the new CEO. The job occupied her mind so much that she didn't have to think about all her losses.

One day at work Grace receives a letter that states that the deaths were not an accident but a murder for hire ordered by Booth Fortier, the top leader of the southern Mafia. Her husband and father were going to expose his dirty dealing with the governor and that's why they had to be eliminated. Grace hires a PI firm to investigate the charges and Jed Tyree serves as her bodyguard since the case is bigger than she knows. Jed and Grace quickly become a couple but he is afraid she will reject him when she learns that he is the nephew of Booth Fortier.

Beverly Barton writes a thriving work of romantic suspense that has readers totally absorbed in the story. The sexual tension between the hero and the heroine is so powerful that readers can empathize with their feelings of insecurity. The villain comes across as a real person, which makes him viler than many antagonists found in crime thrillers. GRACE UNDER FIRE is a special book filled with lots of suspense and action.

Healthy Teeth For Kids
As a parent of a 7 year old I found this book very helpful. This book is chuck full of practical information that is a must for anyone who has a child or children in their life. It's an easy read and held my attention. I strongly urge anyone who wants their kids to have good dental care to read and re-read this book. I'm glad I did!

Required Reading for Parents & Providers: Healthy Teeth Now
I have followed the writings of Beverly and Jerome Mittelman for 4 years, and was eager to read this book; I was not disappointed. The book is an invaluable how-to/reference manual for expectant parents, parents with children of any age, and should be distributed by pediatricians, dentists, obstetricians, and midwives to their patients to insure healthy teeth among all members of the family. The focus is truly holistic and begins with prevention. The Mittelmans and co-author Jean Barilla's progressive focus is upon nutrition with an emphasis on whole foods, whole grains, natural sweets derived from fruits along with supplementation from key vitamins. The contents succeeds in getting the reader to broaden the traditional view of sugar away from just chocolate bars to all sugars - refined and unrefined, processed and natural - and to manage and minmize total sugar intake. Another key emphasis is upon proper hygiene and attitude toward dental care i.e. dental care from a dentist and hygienist should emphasis healthy teeth rather than being an after-the-fact resource for identifying cavities and filling teeth. This book also provides the answers to the troublesome questions that health care consumers have concerning fluoride (does it prevent tooth decay), sealants (are they safe and/or necessary), mercury (are there alternatives and does mercury affect the immune system), and so on. Finally, this reader was struck by the authors' view of the teeth as being one component of our entire body, and that dental care should not take place in a vacuum. Healthy teeth are related to a healthy immune system, and overall good health. The authors will take the reader light years beyond what we have been taught is basic dental hygiene and light years beyond one's definition of dental well-being. READ THIS ONE AND THEN BUY IT FOR A FRIEND.

Parents and High School Students need this book
The book is useful for homeschooling parents who want to plan and help their child keep a portfolio of the high school years. It is also a COURSE for the child to take in time management.
Beyond the wonderful, helpful ideas, the child is taught steps to complete his/her own personal notebook organizer (with plans, calendars, personal goals, etc sheets inside). The book also teaches the child to plan his education and develop life goals.
The last part of the book contains forms for the notebook, project and essay checklists, course planning sheets (a child can plan his own course and have evidence of completion of that course), and many other helpful organizers.
THEN there is a CD free with it. It contains all those sheets in PDF form PLUS a scope and sequence and goals for just about any typical high school course you could think of (no environmental science but yes, even calculus).
I can't say enough good things about the book. I wish I had my oldest going through it last year (he's doing that now) and I plan to have my middle son go through it this summer before he starts 9th grade. My biggest problem is organization. The lack of it causes me to waste so much time. With this book, I'm hoping my children (and I) will learn skills so they (and I) will do better.
Better yet, the book enables the child to take charge and make decisions about his/her education. COOL!

Excellent for bilingual students.
Please send a copy of your book for review. I would like my graduate students to be using this book in their classroom.

Brought tears to my eyes...
This book left me breathless....absolutely beautiful. The faces of the homeless were indescribable and brought tears to my eyes. It's hard to imagine what these people have gone through...but this book portrays it. An excellent buy!!

A compassionate look at a human problem
The images in this collection are stunning. The text equally so. (Schatz has provided the photo images and the subjects dictate their own text). The result is a very compassionate look at a real human dilema - this work will both challenge your stereotypes of homelessness and confirm them. For writers, preachers, speakers and those engaged in the fight for human justice, you will be afforded a broad and insightful glimpse into the world of homeless persons - one that will either enflame your heart or cause you to bolt.

Tools for a healthy life and marriage
Have been aware of the importance of self healing from childhood pain, but have never read anything that put the process into workable application, until I read this book. My goodness, I wish I could share my personal growth from reading the book, with all my single and married friends. I do like it when a light comes on..

This book captures the heart of singles everywhere!
I am thirty-eight and have never married. I almost gave up and I found this book. It showed me what a healthy relationship is all about. It also helped me learn to become healthier as a single person. If your single you ought to get it!
