David's recipes
I recently order "Cooking for David) and find it the best and most informative cookbook regarding renal disease cooking. The recipes are encellent, easy to make, and provide a variety of selections. The cookbook is so good that I ordered one for my daughter-in-law because she keep asking for the recipes. Since my husband is going on dialysis, the recipes have prepared me in advance to be able to cook for him and provide him with good and balance meals. There are wonderful charts that let you know just what foods are good and which ones to avoid. I have read the book from cover to cover and its become my bible for cooking. I wish to thank these wonderful ladies for creating this fantastic cookbook.

Excellent cookbook and good renal guide
My mother recently started dialysis and I have been trying to find a good cookbook for her. I just got this one for her house and decided to buy another for my household. I have over 100 cookbooks and I could go through them and analyse the recipes I use, but this cookbook does all the analysing for me. It also stands on its own as a great cookbook with a balanced variety of recipes for breakfasts, dessert, main courses, etc. These are wonderful recipes: Hot holiday cider, horseradish spread with melba toast, breakfast sausage, frittatas, blueberry peach crisp, rice pudding supreme,Greek lamb patties with mint sauce, poached salmon with cucumber dill sauce, sweet and sour meatballs, shrimp scampi,Chinese fried rice, pasta primavera, spicy lemon pasta, Asian vegetable salad, crabmeat salad, cranberry orange ginger sauce, candied carrots and apples, deviled green beans, creamy cauliflower bake, and lots more

This book changed our lives!
This is a wonderful book.

For 6 years my mother, a kidney patient, has been preparing bland meals for herself. This year she moved in with us (family of five).
Since then, I have been preparing two meals at dinnertime--a bland one for her and the usual meal for my other family members. My mom felt guilty about my preparing two sets of meals and the other members of the family felt bad about eating their more tasty meals at the same time that she ate. I did not mind cooking two meals but it was difficult for me to co-ordinate the meals.
This book explains the renal diet very well and provides recipes for tasty foods all my family members like.
I especially appreciate the accompanying list of nutritional contents (including sodium, potassium, phosphorous) for each recipe.
I only wish we had known about this book before.

P.D. Esta novel ganó el Premio Yañez 1996.

A classic that needs re-issue
Don Segundo Sombra is a classic that deserves to be re-issued. Elegantly written with superb images, the novel despicts not only the adventurous life of the gaucho but also the journey toward self-discovery.

A must read for anyone's list.
I am surprised by how few people know of this book. An excellent novel protraying the master/disciple relationship and questions of ones destiny. It is a pleasure to read.

Fading away country
This is one of the greatest books in Argentine literature. I can remember reading it at the age of sixteen and the impression it made on me. It was as it was telling my own life and childhood in the countryside with the good men that I knew there. And how they all dissapeared facing a modern and much different world giving the word gaucho a more "typical" and superficial meaning. Very, very strange, it made on me the same effect than, lately and older, Islands in the Stream by Hemingway. I strongly recommend it, though my comment is very personal. (sorry about my awful English)

the best book on the subject!
this book is simply the best on the subject, and it shows how proper nutrition with suplements can control genetic diseases.in the past ,the world of medicine was sure that there is nothing to do with genetic-diseases,but no more!.this book explains these mecanisms in a realy wonderful way.you will have a better understanding on genetics wether you are an unhealthy person or a therapist of any kind(especialy natural-healer).we are not changing our genes,we are only give them a better nutrition in order to make them express themselves in the best healthy way.this book is highly recommanded!.

A book that helped
Too often health books fail to deliver anything other than conjecture and unsubstantiated claims. This is one book on my health that made sense and gave me the tools to make rationale decisions about my health future. I liked the way the book took complicated scientific issues and made them accessible to me years before my doctor would understand them. I recommend this book for anyone wanting the latest in health research that can be applied to their own lives.

21st Century Medicine and Nutrition
The focus on this book is to bring the latest research on how to create from a person's genetic template the best health outcomes as they age using personalized nutrition and lifestyle tailoring. The book is science-based from both the clinical research experiences of the author in the Functional Medicine Research Center and from the hundreds of scientific studies from other researchers cited in the extensive bibliography. This is a "how to" book as much as a description of when, why and where medicine will be changing to become "personalized medicine" in the 21st century.

"I have had difficulty explaining the difference between biological anthropology and physical anthropology to my colleagues and students. This book will make it easier." --Wenda Trevathan, Ph.D., New Mexico State University

Very well done
"I like the integration of classic literature or citations to give an historical perspective on issues. The presentation of contemporary issues and clear critiques of the current data and interpretations are very well done. Another strength of this book is the good use of tables, graphs and figures. They really enhance the text materials." --Leslie Sue Lieberman, University of Florida

A much needed text
"The Stinson et al. is an excellent, up to date review of human biology. It serves to integrate the field in a factual and imaginative manner, and thus serves as a much needed text to present the potential of human biology to undergraduates and beginning graduate students." -- R. Brooke Thomas, University of Massachusetts

The best kind of book
I loved this book. All four stories take 4 women, strong and independent, and create a beautfuil romance for each. It's perfect for that Christan romantic, and just makes your heart jump. Doris English's story was so very touching, and Brenda Bancroft creats a very deep charecter. All 4 stories are worth reading again and again. They never lose that sparkle that makes you want to cry everytime the girl gets her guy.

Heart Warming
These wonderful short stories are great. My favorite was by Brenda Bancroft. The charactor had real flaws that endeared her to the readers. The plot was fanatatic, kept me so engrossed I could not put it down. This is just the book for those stressed out because it can be read in short intervals. I have enjoyed this collection of stories as much as the first two. If you really like this there are also a collection of historical short stories by the same publisher.

Four great novels in one great book!
I love these 4 novels! I'm always going back to them. If you have never read them, you must do it as soon as you can. It is a perfect collection for the Christian who is a hopeless romantic. They're interesting, inspiring, romantic. Four great novels in one great book!

A MUST READ FOR YOUR HEALTH!
Only you can change your life (lose weight, regain health, energy, and so on) and here are the correct principles geared toward EVERY individual. No more trying to fit someone elses idea of the ideal healthy you, discover how to reach your own optimum health. If you are tired of being tired, find out why! I feel better than I have in a dozen years and to me that is worth a heck of lot more than the cost of this book! Good luck with your journey.

The Only Book On Nutrition You Ever Need To Read
I have read just about every nutritional book out there over the years and found this book to be the best by far. It is a complete course on nutrition, covering detoxification, herbs, what to eat, what not to eat, and especially all the "whys." Until I read this book it all seemed so complicated and out of reach that I was about to give up. The author simplifies it for us. There are no gimmicks, no quick fixes, no imbalanced eating plans. He reminds us that eating right is what our body wants us to do. You will know when you read this book that what Dr. Santillo says is true. My wish is that every medical doctor could read it. I will always be grateful that I found this book. Throw away all your other books and buy this one. Use the money you've been spending on books to buy good quality food. Do what Smokey says and make everything you eat count. Eat light, simple, quality foods and you will find you require less food and have more energy. Thank you, Dr. Santillo.

One of the Best Books on the Subject!
A rare book with deep insight. I found it to be balanced (both in concept and in practice). I have already been applying many of the concepts the author writes about but it is delightful that Dr. Santillo has distilled many of the concepts, theories and applications of a holistic lifestyle into a readable, understandable and exciting book. I have been recommending this book to all my clients and I strongly encourage anyone who is serious about their health and wellness and are tired of yo-yo diets and theories that sound great but don't work to get this book.

Her First Book Read to her
This book is great. It was the first book read to her when she was just born. She still loves at 18 months. We read it to her at night and she loves to look at all the neat pages.

ONE OF MY DAUGHTER'S FAVORITE BOOKS SINCE 2 MONTHS OLD!
PRECIOUS MOMENTS LITTLE PRAYERS' illustrations and storyline are both 5 stars each so this book deserves 10 STARS! It is truly rare to find a book with a great story and illustrations like this one! No words I can utter would do this book justice--I'll let the book speak for itself:

"I'M READY TO SLEEP, ALL SAFE AND SNUG. I'VE HEARD A STORY AND HAD A HUG.

THANK YOU GOD, FOR A HAPPY DAY. GIVE ME A HAPPY TOMORROW, I PRAY.

I WONDER WHAT I'LL DREAM TONIGHT, HERE IN MY COZY BED. PERHAPS I'LL DREAM OF KINGS AND QUEENS OR JUST OF MY OLD BEAR, TED.

MY GUARDIAN ANGEL SPENDS THE NIGHT, AND KEEPS ME SAFE TILL MORNING'S LIGHT.

THANKS FOR THE SUN...THANKS FOR THE MOON...THANKS FOR THE STARS SO BRIGHT. THANKS FOR WATCHING OVER ME--MORNING, NOON AND NIGHT.

THANK YOU, GOD, FOR BOOKS AND TOYS TO SHARE WITH OTHER GIRLS AND BOYS.

THANK YOU, GOD, FOR EARTH AND SKY, FOR OCEANS DEEP AND MOUNTAINS HIGH, FOR SUMMER, WINTER, FALL AND SPRING--THANK YOU, GOD, FOR EVERYTHING."

Night-night, sweet dreams and remember God loves you!

Good Bedtime routine
My two-year-old loves this book! We read it every night before going to bed. The rhyming prayer was easy for her to memorize, so she now "reads" the book to me. The poem reviews the bedtime routine and reminds kids to be thankful for their world.

Should be read by everyone in Congress!
"My Name Is Sara" gives light to the experiences and what it feels like to be a child, abandoned, abused and neglected. I feel everyone in Congress should read this book! It gives real life accounts from Sara's heart. It is the voice of the child herself; sad, happy, confused, with a slight sense of security. This book can touch so many lives. It brings awareness of the abuse and neglect of children throughout this world. "My Name Is Sara" will touch your heart and strike a nerve.

A glimpse of the realities a textbook CANNOT BEGIN to depict
It is difficult to read this book, but everyone who cares about the welfare of our nation's children MUST read it. And read it again when we begin to forget -- because we tend to WANT to forget -- that there are too many children in America that share Sara's heart wrenching experience.

Those who work with abused and neglected children are familiar with the clinical/textbook definitions of abuse and neglect and their impact on children. MY NAME IS SARA gives the reader a glimpse of the realities that a textbook cannot begin to depict.

MY NAME IS SARA gives words to those unable to experess their pain and confusion, and provides the reader a window into the incomprehensible experiences of abused children.

great book
I love this book. I am amazed by her depth of knowledge. Plus it's a good read. I am re-reading it now, keeping it by my bedside to read a few paragraphs each night. Such a wealth of knowledge.

I am so bummed that this is out of print
I first read this a year or so ago and just loved it. This book gave me an even greater appreciation for the intelligence of plants, their adaptability, and the information we can gain from the presence of certain weeds if we know what we are looking at. The author talks about her ongoing struggle with the weeds that inhabit her gardening space. There are no winners or losers in this war, but a definate relationship is created between the two.

This book is very enjoyable to read as well as being full of great, and accurate, information.

wonderful to read and botanically accurate
This book will delight any and all who have done or will do battle with weeds. Mrs. Stein has a delightful style that is warm and personable. Her research was excellent and the reader will discover much about the secret lives of these much maligned plants. Anyone that is thinking about starting a garden should read this book
