Perfection
This was an amazing colection of short stories by a wonderful author. They are all stories you have heard before but taken from another character's point of view. Puts a wonderful slant on our world. Maitland should get more recognition than she does.

An well done introduction of Western European society.
An easy read, this text is an excellent overview of some of the issues faceing European society and social anthropology. Despite the fact that it deals primarily with more time honnored subjects it is an excellent source for further reading. Moreover, it gives the student/ novice/ or beginner anthropologist 'food for thought' and leads the reader to question and prepare for more complex problems in Europe. In addition, it confronts contemporary topics such as tourism which as a globalk phenomenum is not exclusively European and thus has further applications.

Feminist therapy concepts for war-torn survivors.
Feminist therapy concepts blend with surveys of women in war-torn areas to provide an intriguing focus which applies feminist practice outside the US. This important survey includes interviews with judges, Belgrade feminist experiences working with female survivors of war, women's projects in the former Yugoslavia, and a host of related topics. Difficult to easily categorize, this will appeal across genres.

Truly for advanced Spanish students
This textbook is a gem if your desire is to review complex grammatical structures in Spanish only with thorough explanations and examples. I purchased this text many years ago from a university bookstore that I was visiting and immediately purchased it after browsing through some of chapters. The grammar review is complete with practice exercises and an answer key at the back of the book. The reading sections are interesting themes. Some writings are from famous Latin-American poets and authors. The reading sections also have comprehension exercises and vocabulary building sections. The textbook is ideal for advanced students who wish to review concepts that have already been studied and would be a suitable textbook for Intermediate students who wish to advance to the next level in their studies. Keep in mind the grammar topics are not exhaustive but covers traditionally difficult concepts in ten chapters. This text will surely clarify many common grammatical doubts for advance speakers and present some new concepts to Intermediate students.

Fun book to get your kids reading and laughing!
This was a really fun book/game. It consist of several games you can play by spinning the wheel on the book. The book reminded me of a "fortune telling" type game for kids. The answer possibilities were very funny! I played this with my daughter and we had a great time spending time together and laughing! One of the spins said my daughter was going to be the first woman president but her car was going to be a garbage truck! She loves to play with her friends and they always have a good laugh! Great book to get the girls reading and fun at the same time!

Big beautiful pictures of fun designs
I like this jewelry book a lot! The title and cover suggest the idea that it's a book about beads, but this is a book of jewelry projects made with beads. I find it to be a great collection of eye-catching designs, from pretty and delicate, to subdued, and bold. There are a variety of necklace and choker shapes, both single and multi-stranded, using all different kinds of beads: pastel flowers, ethnic-look clay and pipe beads, pearls, glass, seed beads and more. I find most of the designs inspiring, or easy to adapt to my taste. None are extremely difficult or time-consuming. Other projects include a bead curtain and items decorated with beads: a hat, a shirt collar, frame, curtain tiebacks.

Also appealing about this book is the clean, well organized layout of the pages. Each project has several photos showing the steps, and the finished pieces are displayed in large, beautiful photographs. This book is a mainstay in my bead jewelry book collection.

Beatrix Potter's Country Cooking
I originally bought this book as a gift for a Beatrix Potter fan, but soon realized I had to have a copy for myself. Potter fans and cookbook collectors alike will relish the fine color photos and illustrations as much as the tasty, and very English recipes. How about a nice "Steak, Kidney and Oyster Pudding with a Guiness Gravy"? (page 50). Ms. Williams, the author, also does a fine job with the introduction in which she gives us a synopsis of Beatrix Potter's life, from London to her beloved Lake District where many of the book's recipes were collected. By the way, if you have ever worried about how to deal with such "English" ingredients as "dark treacle", a Glossary of British Terms with American Equivalents is included (dark treacle = molasses). Book length is 176 pages, about 3/4 inch thick, with photos or illustrations on nearly every page - very satisfying for those of us who like our cookbooks to be pretty as well as functional.

Advance your skills
This book is for the beader who doesn't want to stop at just putting beads together, but who now wants to make the beads themselves, and to try some creative new techniques for jewelry-making. For people who have time to make their own beads, there are instructions for beads of clay, wire, metal sheeting, meltable plastic, and paper. The photos show very professional results, and the jewelry made with these beads look like what you might see in a jewelry boutique.

Other projects in the book include jewelry made with knotted hemp and beads, and some interesting uses of wire. A few necklaces are made with beads joined by stitching or on a loom. A final section has projects for decorating your home with beads and wirework, such as vases, clothing accessories, a frame, and windchime.

These projects are for the serious-minded beader who has time to dedicate to expanding their skills with beads. The instructions are very good and close-up photos show the steps clearly.
