Clear directions for making your own miniatures
A Family Dollhouse describes and pictures how to make miniature furniture, pots and pans, candles, and other household items. Jobs that require simple soldering are included, and explained in such a way as to make learning how to do this seem manageable. The author also shows how to whittle a small rocking horse. The variety of materials and items is unusually good. All tools and techniques needed are presented in clear language, with excellent photographs.

The Resurrection of Father Divine
This has been the most detailed and indepth book written so far on Father Divine's Kingdom. It tells the objectives of his movement and it explains why thousands would give up everything they have to join.
She analyized the motives of the followers which of course varied, but the underlying cause was they were tired of the status quo if you will and seeking meaning to an already empty existence.

Happiness did not come from status or material wealth, as many sacrifice this and more to live in the "Peace Mission Movement". She took various followers and tried to delve into their minds as to why they joined. With some you could easily understand where as some it was more difficult. Not due to lack of the author trying but with some it was easy to see that they themselves were confused in terms of truly knowing themselves. I rate it with some of the best writings ever! A terrific book for every toddler to own
After checking this book out of the library twice, we decided this one is a "keeper!" Wonderfully illustrated, the pictures almost tell the story on their own. There are several nice underlying themes throughout the story: the bond between a grandfather and his grandchildren, new friendships, a helping community and more. We're glad we found this one!

Beautiful!
The collaged images in the book caught my eye while browsing in the library. I began to read a little of the book to my 2.5 year old. She seemed interested so we took it home. During our usual evening ritual of having books read, she requested this as it was new. She adored it, particularly the ending. The next night, she wanted it read again and became all excited towards the end of the book when Butterfly finds her mother and learns how to fly.

An extensive and scholarly study
Franz Kafka: A Question Of Jewish Identity by Sara Loeb (inter-disciplinary researcher and expert on Western culture, Central European Judaism, and Holocaust Literature) is a meticulously presented, in-depth focus on the life, philosophy, and Jewish identity of the renowned author Franz Kafka. An extensive and scholarly study that contemplates Kafka's friendship with Max Brod, reflections on the Diaspora, assimilation vs. self-hatred among Jews, and much, much more, Franz Kafka: A Question Of Jewish Identity is highly recommended for students of Kafka's writings as an unusually thoughtful, albeit sometimes technical account of the man, his life, thought, and work.

What a great and memorable song collection for kids!
I am a second grade teacher and I have to say that "Funky Phonics and more, vol. 1" really livens up my classroom, every year!

Favorite tunes include "The Vowel Song", "The Animal Song", "Telling Time" and "Androide".

I would say that "Funky Phonics" is really a Reading Readiness kit which also introduces phonics through song. Lots of the songs are action packed.

For example, when we are singing "The Vowel Song", I make giant flash cards for the kids and each child gets a chance to be one of the vowels. Then as we are singing about each vowel, the child proudly gets a chance to pop up and show off his letter.

"The Animal Song" is great. It's much more that an alphabet song. It introduces a new animal for every single letter of the alphabet and teaches an interesting fact about each of the animals too!

"Telling Time" is wonderful because not only does it each kids how to tell time, it reviews skip counting in 5's because after all, this is often the way we tell time.....ie..10:05, 10:10 or 10:15.

"The Androide Song" is an interesting approach to telling time. The kids love to hear the Androide sing about time and his daily race through the fast lane of life.

Of course, other interesting songs, such as "Days of the Week", which teaches how the days were named after the planets, and "Who's Going to Save Us Now?" a great environmental tune, really spice up other curriculum units.

Whether for home use or in the classroom, I hope you'll be as excited and pleased with "Funky Phonics and more Vol. 1" as I am.

GREAT THEME FOR A GOOD ROMANCE
This is Matt Whitewolf's story - a rough-edged cowboy with a deep distrust of love and commitment who believes he cannot be a husband or father. Due to his abusive upbringing....Will recommend --M - good read - excellent characters -well written story.

Nice story
Vivian is fleeing from her ex-husband with her daughter in tow when she goes into labor. Matt, a Native American rancher, finds her, and, due to the storm that flooded out the bridge, delivers her baby. While she recovers, she stays at his ranch and love blossoms. It was a very warm, sweet romance between them, and a good read.
