Great book with lots of great info
We just read this book as a read aloud for science in our homeschool. We learning alot about oil spills and the damage they can cause. At the end of the book was the idea for kids to write to Senators about laws for oil tankers and such. My son and I plan to do this. This is a great lesson on how kids can be involved and can make a diffrence in the world today.

On the Street Where I Lived (Case Studies in Cultural Anthropology)

Neighborhood Social Breakdown
Mr. Williams examined Blane Street in Pittsburgh's Homewood area during the 1970s. He broke the Belmar section of Homewood into three distinct categories: Mainstream, Genuine and Spurreous. During the era of social unrest, Mr. Williams cited the stigmata of inferiority associated with black behavior that exists at any level of integration. Mr. Williams poignantly described the reality of neighborhood breakdown and how to rebuild that fabric. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in anthropology, neighborhoods, and the heritage of African Americans within the Pittsburgh area.

Clear, concise presentation of clinical optics
I used this book in optometry school and found it invaluable. It clearly presents optics, refraction, magnification, neutralization, and ophthalmic instrumentation. It was one of the more valuable books I purchased in school.

Fast moving,facinating,absorbing,comforting.
Reminds us that we are spiritual beings having a relatively brief human experience before returning to our real & eternal home. Reinforces that spirituality is truely present in everyone and transcends all earthly religions. Many wonderful stories throughout the book to support the love and freedom that our beloved deceased have found. Death will kill the body but not the soul. We can grieve the ugliness of earthly disease and death, but we cannot grieve about the love present in the hereafter. EN

Patriotic Civil War Tokens

Authors: George Fuld and Melvin Fuld

Quintesential Resource
Patriotic Civil War Tokens, by the Fulds, is by far the most complete listing available for every variety of Civil War patriotic token. Not only does it provide information for each variety, it also contains a complete section of photographs for each token! Every listing is numbered and in order, thus making it easy to find the specific tokens you are researching. Other books in the area of Civil War token collecting contain only a fraction of the information provided in the Fuld's book. I must commend Amazon.com for finding a copy for me. My copy was printed in 1965, and is in absolutely mint condition. In fact, I hardly want to open it as it is in such good shape! Although the book is out of print, I recommend it to any collector in this numismatic area. It is certainly worth the wait and is an invaluable resource to add to your collection.

Grreat self-help book for understanding esteem
A very easy to read/understand book that is soooo interesting to read. It is for people 13 to 130. It is fun but is not toiling to read and doesn't have any paperwork/ boring exercises to do. It doesn't demand that you must change your whole lifestyle to get high self-esteem (like go on extreme diets or practice some strange type of religion). I keep it by my bed and read it often although it isn't a long book packed with unnecessary information. I really recommend it. :)

An interesting story of untold African American History
Mr. Charles provides very detailed specifics into the making of the Black American Heritage Flag which few knew about in the 1960s. I gained insight into his great love for his culture, and his persistence in creating a flag which represents the struggles and triumphs of African-American people. It was interesting to discover the challenges involved in the journey of two middle class gentlemen and their quest to be identified and acknowledged as proud African-Americans.

This is the best source I have found for suggestions on staging and adapting scripts for the older reader's theater members. Most texts I have found have concentrated on primary and middle school adaptations. It's a shame this text is out of print. There are excellent sample scripts, illustrative pictures, and a wealth of examples for broad interpretation of choral reading selections.
