An excellent source of information
The complete guide to food for sports performance is an excellent resource for athletes of all levels. Not only does it provide detailed nutritional information during training it also provides very useful tips for competition (pre-, during and post). The second part of the book addresses a wide range of different sports from distance running and rowing to gymnastics and diving. This part is particularly useful as it highlights problems and nutritional deficiencies that are experienced by athletes in this sport, thus helping the reader to pinpoint (or watch out for) certain eating "mistakes" in their favourite sport. Case studies offer very useful examples on how even small changes in the diet can make a big difference. A brilliant book for anyone interested in sports nutrition.

A fantastic book for sports people at any level.
The Complete Guide to Food for Sports Performance is the best sports nutrition resource I have come across. It covers a great variety of sports and is suitable for the recreational sportsperson to the professional athlete. It covers eveything anyone would want to know about sports nutrition and is set out in an easy-to-read manner. Every sports person or sports professional should have a copy of this book

Covers nutrition issues specific to a variety of sports
I regularly use the book as a quick reference when developing resources or planning a lecture. It is an easy read and provides nutrition tips and issues specific to individual sports. The way the book is set up, allows you to access the information quickly.

I read&loved this book as a girl
This book is a wonderful story&it is especially won-
derful to read in this the 50th anniversary of the achievment of
the summit of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary&Tenzing Norgay.
Momo showed courage as she made her way out of Tibet&down to In-
dia.I also loved the way it introduced another culture&religion.

So glad it's still in print!
I read this book voraciously from start to finish when I was in 7th grade and have never forgotten it. It illustrates how important it is to have faith in a dream and to go after what you want even when everyone tells you it's impossible. And if you've ever dearly loved a pet, this is the story for you.

Momo, a young Tibetian girl, yearns to own a Lhasa Apso, but an expensive pedigree dog like that is beyond her family's meager budget. Undaunted, Momo hopes and prays for one to come her way, certain that it will. Her faith and tenacity pay off when a traveling merchant presents her with an adorable Lhasa puppy, whom Momo promptly names Pempa. All is perfect in Momo's world until the day Pempa is stolen by thieves on their way to India. You will learn a lot about that part of the world as Momo tirelessly treks through Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and finally India to retrieve her beloved pooch.

She stumbles into a lot of interesting characters along the way, making this story an even more enjoyable read.

Moccasin Trail
I Loved this book to death. I fell in love with it. I don't think that it could've been writen any better then it was. I feel into the book, and I didn't want to come out. Even though the ending was upsetting, because I felt he should go back to indians, I realized that that was his home, that was where he needed to be. This book could've been writen about any person changing, and nowing they belonged. Everyone has a place they just need to find it. Jim Keath didn't now who he was, he always felt like somebody else, he needed to belong, and to change. He changed, and he realized he needed to stay for Dan'l. It's an awesome book that'd I recomend to any one.

As a dog Mom, I had to have this book!
A dear friend had let me borrow her copy. After reading it, I had to get a copy. This book will warm your heart and the images are just wonderful. It's great to know others feel the same way as I when it comes to their dogs. Dogs share such a wonderful unconditional love and these stories are just one example. Get it for the dog lover in your life.

Dogs and Their Women
A wonderful book! I bought this book when seeking solace following the death of my first dog companion. It gave me comfort and hope to see that there were many more special dogs out there, (and I have since adopeted another one!).

A celebration of a universal relationship.
This is a book that could be read all over the world, and be loved. (In fact, an international version would be a nice idea.) Any of us who have had or known a special dog find ourselves in this book. My dog Dilly writes her own page every day. You must read about these common and uncommon women and their extraordinary dogs!

An important book, updated by Ronnie Lichtman
I've read many books on the subject and this one is easily the best. Ronnie Lichtman C.N.M., Ph.D. is one of America's foremost midwives. Her writing style and expertise add new dimension to an already great book. It has everything an expectant mother could possibly want to know. Though there are many books on pregnancy and childbirth, this is the one that will be passed down to future generations. I recommend it highly.

a must have for expectant mothers
This book is essential for expectant mothers. It covers in depth information on weekly fetal development, symptoms during pregnancy, preparing for the arrival of the baby, and birth and delivery. This book also covers multiple births, and family planning methods. This book gives detailed information on sexual organs and conception.

Evolution of the contemporary woman
Self-expression is perhaps the only cure for the great social gag that once bound women's creativity. Female poets are essentially empowering themselves through language; society no longer expects them to be simply silent and useful. In particular, Louise Gluck deals with many of the issues facing the contemporary woman as an individual. Her work addresses the feminine identity as it relates to independence and personal fulfillment. The stark simplicity of her language underscores the depth and complexity of her subjects with a sense of tight control. Her writing is constantly evolving; the poems as a body of work are as meaningful when taken together as each is standing alone. Beginning with tentative exploration in her early work -marked by themes of loss and emptiness - Gluck's poetry moves towards a denouement of fierce self-actualization, just as in modern culture women make their way towards triumphant fulfillment. In this collection of her first four books, one may see the movement of a voice from submissive flesh forward into exclamatory liberation.

A Beautiful, Elegant Work of Art
I bought this book for my intermediate poetry class, and although I have not yet finished reading through all of it, I have placed it high on my list of favorites. Each of Gluck's poems is something to be savored - you can feel the words on your tongue, and the pictures she provides are so real that you almost wish her memories and images were your own. Only Gluck can describe something as heart-wrenching as a fickle lover as waspishly and deliciously as she does, ending that particular poem with the words "You pimp." Nor can the reader ignore her own delicate, luminous poem "The Nativity", which expresses her own thoughts on the birth of Christ. The majority of Gluck's poetry is short and the lines simple; however, the images triggered by the words and what she means to convey is of a far greater volume. As you read through this fantastic collection, you'll find that many of Gluck's images, ideas, glories and frustrations are those of every person. The way she expresses herself leaves you bowed over at each poem's end, and you always want to read ahead to see what else she will present you with. These poems are Gluck's gift to the world, and the poetry unfolds before the reader as serenly as a flower unfolds to the sun. So check it out, you might really enjoy and be uplifted by what you read!

The First Four Books=Four Aces
The first four books undoubtedly comes from her relatively early period. However, they are all works of a born-poetess.Original,gripping,challenging and elegant.Very elegant...

Hot! Hot! Hot!
Hats off to Kim Loise!!! I think this is her best book yet. I was not too impressed by A Touch Away, but this one more than makes up for it. I loved how Sabin was not the damsel in distress, desperate for a man to rescue her. Instead Kim "flips the script" on the average female heroine stereotype. Sabin is strong, fierce, and independent yet somewhat vulnerable. I loved the storyline. It was full of suspense and intrigue, the passion was intense and will leave you breathless. Great ending, but I wish it were a little more involved. It was an overall great read! Worth every penny!

FALLING FOR YOU
KIM HAS DONE IT AGAIN, THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL MYSTERY, SEX AND FAMILY SECERTS. IS A WONDERFUL STORY OF LOVE AND PASSION. THIS IS A MUST READ. ONCE YOU PICK IT UP, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN. YOU WILL FALL FOR MONTGOMERY AND SABIN. JUST AS I DID,. MY HAT IS OFF TO MS KIM LOUISE!!!!!!!

What A Book!!
Kim Louise has made it to my favorite author list. Her latest book has you burning the night light because you just can't put the book down. Sabin Strong has been hired to protect Montgomery Claiborne from someone who wants his life. In the search of her birth parents she needs this job for the money. But what she was not expecting was losing control of her heart. She falls head over hills in love with Montgomery.

Montgomery knows that someone is trying to kill him and on his first meeting with Sabin he thinks that she may be the one. His thoughts changes when Sabin is there to save his life more than once. It was nice to see how Sabin and Montgomery's relationship blossoms. And they not only begin to trust each other but fall deep in love.

I don't want to say to much because you have to read this fast and easy read. You will love how the secondary characters also keep the pages turning. I think that Kim should continue the story of Montgomery's sister Cherlyn and Lucien. It will be an interesting story.

If you haven't picked up this book, I urge you to run to the nearest bookstore. You will not be disappointed.

Great Book, Bad Ending
I thought this book was really interesting, and helped to inform the reader about the suffering caused by civil war in Central America. The author should have given more details about the characters. I really liked the descriptions of the character's thoughts as they were engulfed in battle inside of the thick jungle. I also enjoyed reading about the small joys in their lives, such as playing baseball or getting to wear boots. The storyline progressed fairly smoothly, until the end. The ending was weak and didn't explain enough about several events that occured. I would recomend this book because it shows that even where people are uneducated and poor, they can still find time for others.

Review of The Forty-Third War
The book was crammed full of action and was also based on real wars which added to the excitement. I liked most of the story; it was very inspiring, and it got me thinking about whether or not I could ever get drafted into a war. The relationship between Uno and the two other main characters was very tight which added top dialogue to the book. The story, however, was only spread over eight days. I would have been more satisfied if the book said what happened to Uno after the war ended.

Uno's character developed steadily through the book. Uno started out being very worried about what was going to happen to him. He turned out to care a lot about people, and he wanted a better world for them. Towards the end of the book Uno showed that he could be a real solider and kill if he had to.

This book had a lot of hidden meaning and depth to it. This is one of those books you really need to read twice to catch everything. Its descriptive details and complex plot had me begging for more. This book was definitely worth reading, not just once but two or three times. The writing was extraordinary and put you right in the shoes of the protagonist. This book is highly recommended by me, and I hope to read another like it.

The Forty-Third War
Forced into the revolutionary army at age twelve young Uno must face the harsh realities of civil war. Set in an unnamed Central or South American country this gripping novel addresses the life of children caught in the pathway of war. Uno spends a week with the guerilla fighters and in that time sees things that we cannot imagine. Forced to drill as a soldier Uno is sent out on patrol. While in the jungle Uno comes across a village that has been destroyed by the enemy. Later, Uno takes part in an ambush of loyalist troops as well as an assault on a town. Each of these experiences changes Uno in a fundamental way. The Forty-Third war refers to the fact that Uno's nation has already faced forty-two other revolutions and wars. Set in a seemingly hopeless situation Uno's story does offer seeds of hope. The author does a wondeful job of recreating the world within which children become soldiers. This is a story that could have been set in El Salvador, Nicarauga, or a number of other locales. It is also a story of children caught up in warfare that needs to be told. This is a difficult book to read but one that tells a vital story. The characters are well developed and realistic. Simply put, this is a classic look at one aspect of the face of war.

This book is a complete do-it-yourself to good health
I've consulted this book on many occasions for information on how to improve not only my own health, but the health of friends. It is an excellent reference guide for most common ailments as well as most herbs and what they are good for. Louise also covers vitamins & minerals etc., what they are used for and what depletes them from your system. My opinion is that every mom should have a copy of this book.

the best herbal I have seen in over 20 years
This small compact herbal is the best herbal reference I have encountered in over 20 years in the healing profession. Not only are the descriptors and uses clearly indicated for those seeking application but the expanded base of what makes these herbs and combinations work well speaks to physiologogists in the language of mineral and chemical content. I have many herbals..some quite expensive but none as good as this small compact handsize volume.. I have had to replace it several times due to use.

This books Beats all the Rest
Louise Tenney has definately done her homework. I purchase this book for all my new recruits in my natural health business!
