Dec. 7, 1941: The Day the Japanese Attacked Pearl Harbor
Published in Hardcover by Outlet (1991)
Authors: Gordon W. Prange, Donald M. Goldstein, and Katherine V. Dillon

Used price: $3.75
Collectible price: $11.95

Fact-filled history of the attack itself
This is the centerpiece of Prange's (and Goldstein and Dillon's) Pearl Harbor trilogy. 'At Dawn We Slept' set the stage for the attack, and 'Pearl Harbor: The Verdict of History' summarizes and draws conclusions. But this title, 'December 7, 1941,' tells the story of the attack itself, from the point of view of both American and Japanese planners, participants, and spectators.

Prange's research is stunning, and he presents his facts in a straightforward and non-sensationalist way. He doesn't point fingers or call names, he just lays things on the table. As someone who's read a fair amount of Pearl Harbor literature, I really appreciate that.

I recommend Prange's trilogy for anyone interested in serious Pearl Harbor scholarship. And if you're just looking for a fact-filled, yet easy to read, introduction to the event itself, 'December 7, 1941' is the title for you.

Highly recommended.

An excellent, well researched book of the Day of Infamy.
This book is a must. Though difficult to obtain, it is well worth the wait. It is a usual Gordon Prange Book: Well researched, easy to read, and without errors. Prange's relentless search, and also of his "sucessors" after his death, for the TRUTH about the the attack on Pearl Harbor, make this a must read. It belongs with Prange's other works "Miracle at Midway", "At Dawn We Slept", and "At Dawn We Slept: The Verdict of History".

This book dispells many myths (as do the other books) about the December 7th attack: FDR's "guilt"(he was innocent), Kimmel and Short's responsibility (they were scapegoats), The USS Arizona (a bomb NEVER went down the smoke stack). Prange's exhaustive research gives an accurate account of Dec. 7th.

This book is a must for anyone interested in the Pearl Harbor attack, and should actually be the FIRST book to read on the subject.

I cannot praise this book and his other works enough. He IS the authority.

Do You Know Colors? - Teaching your children to read
This book was the first to teach me to associate colors with words. It is so wonderful, I buy it for each of my friends' children when they turn 2.

Good for toddlers too!
To my surprise this book has been my sons favorite since he was 10 months old! The illustrations are quite appealing. Although he does not understand the concept mixing colors, this book has helped him learn colors and he will identify concepts in the real world that he learns from the book. Pretty good for a one year old. This book is a big hit.

Interesting combination of renovation and family life.
I just read this book and found it appealing because, like the author, I have a 100 year old house with many of the same problems she wrote about. The text was interesting and well written, the old pictures were wonderful and there was a happy ending where the tired, old house finally becomes a beautiful swan.

Inspirational to anyone dreaming of renovating an old house
I read this book when it was new. It was easy to read and very enjoyable. Now I'm doing my own home renovation and remember the trials and tribulations of the author.

Keep talking Dreamkeeper
I've been reading the words of Dreamkeeper on Deborah's Web page for a while now. The book is better than I anticipated! It was presented in such a sweet, gentle, positive manner. I appreciate no threats, fear or guilt trips -- and no secret agenda of trying to force or "convert" believers. No asking for money etc. Just honest, open communication and a respect for an open mind and heart and individual beliefs. It's an uplifting book full of goodies.

Great Book everyone on the Path should read!
Dreamkeeper is a wonderful book cowritten by Deborah Harmes with channeled information by Dreamkeeper. I highly recommend it. The information there is pure light. It has helped me put together information I've been receiving for years. Thanks Deborah Harmes and Dreamkeeper for all of your good works.

I really appreciated the cases and examples presented in this book! It helped to apply what the author's recommended to my projects and their teams. Would recommend to all hands-on PMs

Excellent PM book Concise, well written etc
Dynamic PM is an excellent PM book. It is "short and sweet." Especially useful for anyone studying for PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam. Lots of great information in a small package, well indexed, clearly written. - Mark Durrenberger, Project Management Consultant, Oak Associates, Inc.

wow, Vaz never ceases to amaze me. her writing is so powerful, these stories made me laugh and cry and and dance in the rain and talk to purple and plant orchids and and my god, it is endless! Vaz has the amazing ability to express her thoughts in the fewest words possible, making the stories all the more breathtaking. these stories capture life and humanity in its rawest, most honest form. love, truth, passion, longing, joy, sacrafice, these stories are the embodiment of every hidden aspect of YOU that you'll never know exisited until you read these words of an angel...

Excellent stories couldnt put it down!
This book really puts Katherine Vaz at a new level. Her other books were great also but Fado really gripped me and made me think about life. Would be of benefit to all

A Family Haggadah II
Published in Paperback by Kar-Ben Publishing (2001)
Authors: Shoshana Silberman and Katherine Janus Kahn
Amazon base price: $6.95

Great seder
I have used this haggadah for several years, and have found it to be a beautiful and practical addition to our seder. The print is easy to read, and the overall appearance is impressive. The one criticism that I have, is that there could have been more Hallel verses in English for those sedergoers who need a translation. Other than that, I recommend it enthusiastically.

This seder was the best
I finally understood what was going on at our seder, and really enjoyed the interaction. Plus it's a great looking book and well priced!

Great book to read before your animal friend dies
This is a very good book with lots of information. These authors understand what it is like to lose an animal friend. It suggests preparing for your animal's loss before it happens so that one doesn't have to think about what to do when the loss occurs and thing's get emotional.

Great book...
We found out about this book through a link on when we knew the death of our beloved Muffin was soon. It really and truly helped us to prepare ahead of time for what we wanted for him--so we wouldn't be making decisions after the fact. It also reaffirms that fact that the grief one feels for the loss of a much-loved pet is real and not something "silly". While it's not fun to think about, those who have a pet (re. of breed or type) they love dearly may want to have this. There's also a chapter about post-death grief and how to help young children deal with the death as well. Recommended highly!

Excellent Teacher Education Handbook
This book radiates wonderful and resourceful ideas, lesson plans, and time saving tips. As a beginning teacher, I found The First Year Teacher an excellent handbook and would definitely included it in my library professional collection for teachers.

Jeffery P. Barbour Future Library Media Specialist, NK-12

This is THE book for the first year teacher.
I was fortunate enough to take my student teaching seminar with one of the authors of this book (Dr. Karen Bosch). Although she is terrific in and of herself, her co-authored book is outstanding. From the first on campus interview with human resources personnel to my first day of teaching, this book had it all. There are chapters to guide you through each step of the process to becoming the first year teacher that we all dream and hope to be. It's written from the perspective of the teacher him/herself. Each thought shared by other first year teachers were echoed through myself during those first few days of teaching. I recommend this book to everyone who is about to embark upon their teaching career and those who are returning to the career after an extended absense. It has been my guide book through everything.

I have truly enjoyed reading the Cape Light Series. I really hope the authors continue the series, as I would love to read more abotu the town and people of Cape Light. The authors have done a wonderful job of making you feel like you are part of the town, and make the characters so interesting. I look forward to the next book.
