Reflects the latest knowledge in our field and provides clear guidance for bringing practice up to the level of our current state of knowledge. It presents addictions treatment from a truly contemporary perspective, not burdened with the traditions, vested interests, and biases that have inhibited our forward movement for years. The authors have taken a courageous stance throughout the book.

A Thorough Text for the Field
This text provides a thorough look into the field of addiction. It provides for alternatives to the dominant theme in relation to working with people whose lives have been influenced by the use of substances. In addition, the material on other addictions is a long needed addition to texts related to addictions. This complete work is a welcome addition to the library of material I use in working with addictions.

An Incredible Journey
Jo Anne Van Tilburg's AMONG STONE GIANTS took me on an incredible journey. I read many biographies and this one stands up with some of the very best. The depth of her research amazed me. I felt as though I was standing right beside Katherine Routledge as she fought against the contraints of her family and her era to follow her dream to explore Easter Island. I was moved to tears more than once and so sorry when I finished the last page. This is a great read that interweaves archaeology, primitive culture, and feminist energy with wealth, mental illness, and a quest to uncover ancient secrets. Terrific idea for a Mother's or Father's Day gift!

A Story Worth Telling -A Story Worth Reading!
Having been to Easter Island and knowing a little about Katherine Routledge, I was delighted to see that someone had finally written about her fascinating life. She was a remarkable woman whose life was interesting, intriguing, and tragic. Dr. Van Tilburg traces her life as a young child of privilege, growing up surrounded by Quaker ideals in England through her life at Oxford University, her marriage to William Scoresby Routledge and travels to Africa, South America, Easter Island, Mangareva and her final years back in England.

This is a biography that has been thoroughly researched; notes are referenced with interviews, Katherine's personal research and letters, Scoresby's papers and the author's endless sleuthing in all parts of the world that Katherine lived or visited.

The major part of the book is Katherine's stay on Easter Island. The author interweaves Katherine's personal and academic life with what is scientifically known about Easter Island archaeology and the people who inhabited the island then and now. Her words and thoughts are beautifully crafted and bring Katherine to life in a vivid and passionate manner. I could not put this book down and didn't want it to end. It is a story well told.

Excellent Collection - Mostly
This is a great collection of Animorph books. . . . especially # 33 (The Illusion). It was really touching and the end was pretty good. The one with Jake isn't all that great - the worst of his books, actually - and I would've taken out a star if it weren't for the other books. If you want to know what happens in these books, you'll have to read them yourself.

Animorphs
This book series is very very ggod. It is about 5 kids, (one bird-boy), and an Andalite who are trying to save the world from evil paracitic-like slugs called Yeerks. Vissers are the rulers of the Yeerks.

THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!
Animorphs: The Decision By K.A. Applegate

Ax is an andalite stuck on earth because of the horrible Visser Three, a monstrous Yeerk that is the only one to control an andalite's body. Visser Three destroys the andalite dome ship and kills Ax's brother, Elfangor. Now Ax is left with the task of avenging his brother's death and helping his human friends to beat the Yeerks and save Earth. I think the story was excellent and really portrays being a newcomer to a new place.

Very, very interesting
In this book you will find a new twist on the Z Space Theory. Hint: Just keep in mind how small mosquitoes really are. If you're into aliens you'll love this book. Psychics can be a problem when you're trying to keep a secret. If you're an Animorphs fan you definately need this book.

The Best Animorphs Book!
The best of them all it tells the story of Tobias, and his struggle of being trapped as a hawk. The book can be sad but it has lots of action and adventure. I recomend this book to any animorphs reader!

One of the best Animorph books
This is one of the first and best Animorph books ever. Tobias and the others discover a Yeerk ship in the forest taking natural resources for their own use. Animorphs to the rescue! They form a plan to stop the Yeerks from their evilness. Visser Three makes an appearance. This book is great!

Awesome Animorph Book!
This book was great! It was one of the best books I've ever read. It's the first Animorph book I've ever read, and now I want to collect all of them.

A really cool book!
This was the first Animorph book I've ever read. There's really no way to describe it. It started out when an alien from another planet called an Andalite gave five kids the power to morph into any animal they want to by acquiring their DNA. But if they stay in a morph for more than 2 hours, they become that animal forever. One of the kids will always be a hawk. The main character in this book is a girl named Rachael. She's my favorite Animorph. The others are Jake, Cassie, Marco, and Tobias ( now a hawk ). I swear, when I read this book, I read 3 other Animorph books in a week, and I'm currently reading one now. Take my advice - read this book!

Great Insight!
Through her analysis we learn about astrology, the exciting lives of those she writes about, and how the stars will determine events - fortunately or unfortunately for some. I've consulted with Ms. deJersey and she has offered not only her advice based on her readings, but also personal coaching. I appreciated both - I hope she writes another book!

k de j gives great info behind the great stories, inspiring
This insightful book of how astrology helped in the lives of people who were significantly influenced and guided was a real pleasure to read. As a student of astrology I am grateful to read this important book written by a real, honest to God astrologer from the old school. I very much appreciated the way she invited me into her world and narrated events in her life. I loved the beautiful marriage of personal insights and factual astrological interpretations and facts. I am very very interested to know more about this author - is she still around, does she have a web-site, etc.

Attention's Loop: A Sculptor's Reverie on the Coexistence of Substance and Spirit

A truly original modern artist
Ms. King is not only a great artist but an original thinker. Her sculptures, mechanical self-portraits fashioned from wood and metal, are amazingly realistic and beautiful yet at the same time a step beyond reality. As a craftsman, she is truly gifted with her hands. As a writer, she is able to examine the fields of history, philosophy, and science through the lens of her art and make us rethink the meaning of the human brain and senses. Especially fascinating was her research into the history of the homunculus.

As an added bonus, the book is beautifully designed (even won an award for book design).

Crystaline romp
A crystalline romp reflecting tension and reverie involved in the creation of that which is in our image. King's prose is elegant, pithy, never prolix, illuminating topics from the Golem to ETA Hoffman's Olympia while passing on the way thorough Jacquard's loom and Vaucanson's creations.

Throughout this shimmering work are dispersed aching photographs of King's Pupil, a jointed movable sculpture; her Galetea, who seems, at any moment, about to spring to life.

I without reservation recommend this work to anyone interested in the creation of works in the image of "Man," from sculptors to professors of AI.
