My daughter's favorite book!
Daughter Anna (now 19 years old) loved this book. It was her favorite above all others. As we sorted through some old kid things for give-away purposes, we stumbled upon this old, well worn copy of "The Velveteen Rabbit." She insisted we keep the book for HER children.

This was her book that Mama (me!) had to read to her again and again and again. As soon as the last word was read on the last page, it was "Mama, please read it again!"

(how I miss those days, by the way!)

The book also has a powerful message about Love that children understand and cherish.

This is a wonderful book. No child should be without their own copy of "The Velveteen Rabbit."

Velveteen Rabbit story good for parents and children
It's a sweet story of a 'simple' stuffed rabbit amidst the more 'complex' modern toys in a boy's "toy collection". The rabbit starts to believe that in order to get the love of the boy, he needs to appear 'real', or be able to zoom about like the motorized toys...
(And I'm not going to tell you the end hahahahaha!!!)
It was great having that read to me, while I was hugging my stuffed animals in bed.
But -- in a way, at first glance it looks like a simple story, but it is actually a surprisingly complex story. Leave it on your child's bookshelf as he/she grows up and he/she will reread it again and again as he/she questions issues such as "who am I?", "what does it mean to be 'real'"?, "what is my role in this world?", and even "what is death"?

A TRUE CLASSIC FILLED WITH A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE
I seldom write reviews on children's books, although I love them with a passion. My children are now mothers and my grandchildren are past young childhood. However, I believe that somewhere deep inside each of us remains a small child that still loves fairy tales, cotton candy, and walking barefoot in the grass. This book was one of my children's favourites, along with "Charlotte's Web;" both were also my own personal favourites. When my children were six years old reading this book became a nighly adventure until I knew the words by heart. For the reviewer who rated the book with a one star due to a spelling error, my heart goes out to you; you have sadly missed something very important - the message. The book is not about spelling, editing or lack thereof; it is about encouragement and love.

The book tells the story of a toy, sawdust-filled rabbit who wishes with all his heart to become real. The message contained in this book is poignant, heart-warming and touching, and one that you will never foreget as long as you live. It is a story of beauty, wonder and love. Any child who misses out on "The Velveteen Rabbit" is missing out on one of life's greatest lessons. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful, wonderful book and highly recommend it to children...and the grown-up child in all of us.

Intriguing, compelling, I couldn't put it down!!
This is a smut book with a plot. The twists and turns keep you guessing to the very last page. The intricate way in which several different storylines all weave together is absolutely brilliant, I kept turning back to reread past chapters only to reabsorb each juicy detail. I read this for the first time about 8 years ago, and my paperback copy is so worn I may have to replace it! If you start this one, be prepared for the housework to suffer, you will not want to interrupt this amazing story of deception, lust, greed, passion, and sex aplenty!

A great novel of passion and fantasy!!!!
This book was given to me by a guy, who said I must read it. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. A GREAT book of fastasy, passion, and revenge, it makes you want to become a part of it. We all have our fantasies, oh, to be a part of this for one day. Stars was eqyally good.I can't wait to read more by Kathryn Harvey

This is my all-time favorite book.
I have read this book so many times, I actually had to go out and buy a new one, because the first one I had fell apart! No kidding! I love it, and I'll probably read it a hundred more times. It gives the feeling of power to all women, not just the main character. It shows what true friendships are all about and keeping true to yourself. Whenever I'm down, I just pick it up and read it. I'm 22, and I only hope that someday I could make as much of my life as the main character did with hers. It's and inspiration. I hope Kathryn wrote more novels. And if you loved this book, "Stars" is a definite, you have to read what happens!!! It's a thrilling continuation of Butterfly.

A new Animorph?
"If you can hear me . . . come. If you can hear me . . . come." That's the message that Cassie and Tobias keep having. But what does it mean? Then, Jake realises that part of an Andalite ship has washed up on the beach - and the message seems to come from the ocean . . . the Animorphs are sure that it's an Andalite calling for help - but Visser Three is an Andalite. Could it be a trap? To find out, they acquire dolphin morphs and find the Andalite dome ship, but as they demorph, they are knocked unconcscious, by an Andalite - Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill - Ax. They escape, as Ax uses his shark morph - but then Visser Three morphs something VERY big and VERY nasty - and there's no way the Animorphs can outrun him. Can Cassie get a message to a friendly whale in time?

This book was great. It was the fourth in the Animorphs series, and a lot of it is based on Cassie's doubt that they should morph such intelligent animals as dolphins. It also introduces the new Animorph - Ax, an Andalite. And just wait till you hear that guy in human morph . . .

Realy good book; I especially liked the ending.
The Animorphs. Rachel, Cassie, Marco, Jake, and Tobias. The book opens with Cassie acquiring a squerril morph. She morphs, and the instant the morph is complete, a fox comes in and tries to catch her. Thankfully, Tobais flies in and rescues her. Once Cassie and Tobias get to talking, Cassie explains why she was up at three in the morning, turning into a rodent. She had a dream. Tobias cuts her off, telling about a dream he had, where a voice calls out from the sea. Later, the whole Animorph group gathers in Rachel's bedroom, disussing how Tob and Cass could have had the exact same dream. They watch a taped news broadcast, where a man hold up a peice of metal that had washed up on the beach. Cassie and Tobias immediatley have the same dream, only now they can hear the voice distinctivley. "If you can hear me, come." So they acquire dolphin morphs and ehad on out to sea. The Animoprhs are positive that it's an Andalite trying to reach them. And where there's a helpless Andalite...there's Yeerks. Now it's a race. Who will find the Andalite first? Later, after saving a humpback whale from sharks, the Animorphs dscover a huge dome. In it, are trees and grasses and lakes and rivers, all of it, in one huge, underwater dome. Cassie and the others swim into an airlock, demorph, enter, and are knocked unconcius as they are fired at. When Casie waks uop, she sees an Andalite, staring hard at her, pointing a weapon. Meet Aximilli.

One of my favorite books. Not only because they get these really great dolphin morphs, but because they first meet Aximilli. And, despite what others say, I loved the last scene, where Cassie dances with the dolphins. I'd definatley reccomend this book to anyone.

one of the best
In this book, Cassie and Tobias are getting destress calls in their sleep. On the news is a piece of metal that a man found with some alphebit that Jake said was like the letters on Elfangor's morphing cube. they morph dolphins. If i tell you anymore, it will give the story away. :)

Darkest book yet.
To sum this one up Jake finds a web page on the Yeerks. The Animorphs decide to investigate but because of no background info on the person's mansion Rachel and Ax get captureed. There the others find out that the Yeerks can live without Kandrona rays. Every three days the Yeerk has to make its host eat another Yeerk. Everything turns out allright but Jake or Cassie might have set fire to the person's mansion.

THE BEST EVER!!!!!!
In this book, Jake discovers a web site about Yeerks. He shows it to the others and they see the chat room. They decide to pay a visit to Web Access America (not AOL, A reader from U S A). They go to the airport because WAA is too far to fly in bird morph. There they fight over wether to morph flies on a United or Northwest plane (they choose United). Marco eats some shareholder's first class lunch and Jake (?) wonders if there will be an in-flight movie, and Marco (?) says not a movie, the flight's 1 1/2 hours long, more like an in-flight cartoon! Tobias in fly morph is funny. When there in the WAA building, Jake, in tiger morph, Rachael, in Grizzly morph, Cassie, in wolf morph, and Tobias, in his natraul form (hawk), mop the floor. An employee says there crazy, why are they mopping the carpet? Ax and Marco sneak in to the computers (everyones distracted) and find out who MegMom, Fitey777, and Gump (screen names from the chatroom) really are. It turns out Fitey777 is Joe Bob Fenistre is the CEO of WAA. Jake gets a rhino morph and They go to Joe Bob Fenistre's house. I'll leave it at that

Great book
The beginning was funny and sad, becasue when the Animorphs go in the chatroom, they find a kid named gump, whoce father is a controller and he wants someone to tell him if he could free his father. Soemone sends an e-mail to Jake and is really funny. The jacket photo (you know the one inside the book) shows Jake the rhino outside around a couple of trees and grass, with a bird flying above and a sign (you know, those yellow signs which show Children playing, or men at work, or ped Xing)that shows a rhino picture on it. check my review on megamorphs two! you'll get a really cool sneak peek from me. This book was the bomb! Bo-o-o-o-o-m! ----Amar

Exalting
This is the best book I have read in all my 12 years. K. A. Applegate has an amazing power to capture a reader's heart and mind and draw it further into the book . . . then MORPH a bird and fly away, heart in her heart, mind in her mind.

Tobias's twisted life has taken quite a turn in the last couple of weeks. He and his friends meet an alien who gives them the power to morph, then is murdered by the force he is fighting. Morphing is a process of changing from human to animal. MORPHING into the body of an animal. Animorph. There is a problem, morphing has a downside . . . stay in a morph for 2 hours, and you stay forever. Tobias had trouble with getting out of his red-tailed hawk morph for the deadline . . . and now will never get out again. . .

This entrancing book takes you into another world, a world of fear and love, joy and pain, power and total helplessness. It takes you through all points of being trapped in another body, from flying on your own wings and looking at your friends from above, to the feeling of loneliness at being the only of your kind who can think like a human.

When human nature and animal instinct cross, what do you get? Both the frightening ability to kill a rodent and the power to fly on your own wings, the sunlight on your back powering the thermal on which you are soaring. Says Tobias: "So be happy for me, and all who fly free!"

The third Animorphs book . . . from the viewpoint of a HAWK?
When the Andalite Prince landed on Earth and gave the Animorphs their morphing abilities, he gave them one cardinal rule - NEVER stay in morph for more than two hours. But Tobias was trapped when they attacked the Yeerk pool - and now it's four human Animorphs and a hawk . . . Tobias thought that he was gaining control over the hawk's instincts - but then he kills - can he ever really be human again? Or should he just forget he was ever a human and give in to the hawk - forever?

This book was great. It deals with Tobias, the third member of the Animorphs, as he struggles to adapt to his new life as a nothlit - human trapped in morph. More heart-rending than the others, but even without the slushy stuff, it's still a great read.

tobias
Well,I have Read the entire Animorph Series and This is DEFINETLY
The BEST!!Rachel and Tobias are my favorite characters. And this Book is Almost all about Rachel and Tobias!
This is the story.....
In the first book(after the battle)Tobias discovers that he is trapped in hawk morph forever...As he tries to ajust to his New life he has to deal with the Yeerks.
While flying one day Tobias thinks he sees something move across the sky,or at least he thinks he does. After some investigation the Animorphs discover the it is a ship,a very large ship,Infact,It's a YEERK SHIP!!After the Animorph have A close Call(they ALMOST get trapped as wolves),Tobias starts to Realize that he will be a hawk forever, that he will never be Human again...Tobias Goes of for a few days and has to deal with his first kill,it soon becomes too much for him And he tries to kill Himself....

Awesome! Keep up the good work Katherine!
Im a devoted Animorphs (and now Megamorphs ;-) ) fan. I got this book two days ago (May 16th) and I stayed up from 9:00 to 11:00 taking my time and reading it. I rate it a 9 because it was kind of weird when Rachel had amesia, it was sort of confusing. But the Veleek was sooo COOL!!!!! It was alost neat how Applegate wrote about every Animorphs point of view. Hopefully next time we can have a chapter from Visser 3's point of view! ;) Well thats all for now. If you have any questions regarding this book, please contact me and I will answer your questions ASAP. Thanks

THIS BOOK WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love all the animorphs books. But this book has to be one of my favorites. The author (K.A.Applegate) really knows how to tell stories about what kids go through. A lot of books you read has stuff about kids ackting really nice and saying yes sir and no sir. But in Animorphs K.A. writes about how kids really act.Now about Megamorphs one.I think this story is for kids who like people who are funny(Marco) brave(Racheal) leaders(Jake)and downright strange(Ax)and who cares about animals and really loves animals(Cassie) So I recomend this book because you can't put it down every page your thinking and what happens next. But don't stop here read all of the Animorphs series.

The greatest Animorphs ever!
This book is probably the BEST Animorphs ever. I'm an Animorphs MANIAC and love them to death!!!! This book is great. Rachel gets mobbed while taking a "fly" around the block. She slams into a tree and falls to the ground. She wakes up and her total memory is gone. Visser Three gets a dust beast that can track morphing energy. Ax tries to save Rachel when they find her in the forest. She had morphed her grizzley bear and was almost dead. Thats why Ax tried to save her. He succseded but gets caught by the beast who takes him to Visser Three's Blade ship. Will the Animorphs ever morph agian??? Will they save Ax??? Will Rachel ever remember agian??? Find out in this exciting, action-packed book!!

This book is great!!!!!!!!!
Animorphs The Attack K.A. Applegate The Ellimist an all-powerful being (or so the Animorphs thought) has helped the Animorphs many times. The Ellimist has an enemy, his name, Crayak. The Crayak wants to destroy a planet with lifeforms that could be the only thing that could save Earth. The Ellimist and Crayak have come to an agreement. There will be a battle. The Ellimist and Crayak can each choose seven characters. The Crayak chooses Howlers. The Ellimist chooses the Animorphs - Jake, Rachel, Marco, Tobias, Cassie, and Ax- and an Android (an Android is a robot that imitates a lifeform) named Eric for knowledge. His creators the Chee were wiped out by the Howlers so he knows a lot about them. He is incredibly strong, but his programming restricts violence. Whatever side is completely destroyed first will loose. If the Ellimist wins the planet will be saved if not the Howlers will destroy it. Find out why this planet's inhabitants are so vital to Earth's future by reading this book. I highly recommend this action-filled book. John

Howlers!
Before I review this book I have to tell the people at Amazon.com to FIX YOUR , please! Anyway, back to Animorphs. In this book, the Big Red Eye from #6 is back with his name revealed: the Crayak. The Crayak and the Ellimist have been enemies locked in combat since the beginning of time or longer. Today, it isn't any different. Now, the Ellimist tries to get the Animorphs to do his dirty work to stop the Crayak from tearing the universe into shreds. Unfortunately, the Crayak also has a very powerful source doing his dirty work: the infamous Howlers who destroyed the Pemalites. It'll take all of the Animorphs' morphs, allies, skills, and strengths to overcome the Crayak and the Howlers. Exciting, huh. I haven't read this book but from all of the sneak previews put together, I got this TRUE scrap of info. I recommend this book to all people everywhere.

Simply Incredible
This book is one of the best in the Animorph series. (For the record, the best is the Andalite Chronicles.) All the aliens have a life of their own, from the Howlers who have been destroying races since their creation to the Iskoort who are divided into different groups with each group sharing an opinion or belief. The story is this: the Ellimist and Crayak (the big red eye) are deciding the fate of the Iskoort race, the race Crayak wants destroyed. They decide to each pick seven people to fight. The Ellimist picks the Animorphs and Erek. Crayak chooses seven of his Howlers. (Yes, the Howlers have someone they report to.) One thing to note. I, unlike many other people, did not like that Jake and Cassie kissed at a critical point in a dangerous mission and I definitely did not like how it played such a big role in the plot. Still, this book is awesome. P.S. Please don't try and track me down and Attack me (no pun intended) for not liking the kissing scene.

This was a great book for anyone who thinks about sci-fi
It all starts when Rachel becomes an elephant agian to teach a cruel circus master a lesson. She then gets the idea of aquireing a new animal: a grizzly. Without telling any other Animorphs, she aquires a bear at The Gardens. But now her father will move out of state, and he wants Rachel to come with him! But not now, says Rachel, as they find their way down to the Yeerk pool in search of the Kandrona. Suddenly, as it looks like it's all over for our heroes, time stops. This is the work of an Ellimist, a strange being. He wants to take Rachel, Marco, Tobias, Jake, Cassie, and Ax to a whole other planet. Can Rachel decide wheter or not to keep fighting, like Jake and Marco and Ax and Tobias say, or leave Earth forever, along with a few other animals and humans, like Cassie says? Can Rachel make the right choice? Or is planet Earth doomed to the Yeerks

I Should Know This Book
I should know this book I had to write a report on it.Here is my summaryThe science-fiction novel I read was called The Stranger. It is by K.A.Applegate and is the seventh book in the Animorphs series. The story is about a young girl named Rachel. She had been given the power to morph into other animals by an alien called an Andalite. With her friends Jake,Cassie, and Marco. They battle evil alien slugs called Yeerks. They crawl inside your head and sink into your brain using their power to control you. Then there is Tobias. He stayed in a morph for over the time period, two hours, and is trapped in his morph. They also met another andalite named Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill or Ax for short. He is the brother who gave the kids the power to morph and was killed that day by Visser Three. An evil leader alien yeerk. He was the only yeerk slug to have an andalite controller. He was the Animorphs main enemy! In this book they encounter the Ellimist. He says he can save their lives and a few

Leave the Fight?
This is one of the best animorphs series book. I loved it because it introduces one of my favorite characters: the Ellimist. Rachel is stressed. Atop of having to fighting the evil mind-controlling yeerks by turning into animals, her father is going to move away and wants her to come with him. A chance for a normal life. But she can't leave now. Her friends have found an entrance to a yeerk pool where the slugs rest each three days. They go inside as roaches and are almost swallowed by a taxxon (a controlled spacial worm) when time stops. A strange man tells them that he can take them to another planet along with some loved ones where the human race can reproduce. Some have made their decision. Will the fight be abandoned?

I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A LOT BETTER
I couldn't wait to get the book. Tobias is my favorite character. I LOVE Animorphs and couldn't beleive it was as bad as it was. Also for all of you who heard the rumor Tobias and Rachel Kiss, well I'd been waiting for it throughout the animorphs, and I guess I'll be waiting a lot longer :( Well I'm glad he did learn about his dad. I just want to see Ax's reaction, I also wanted to see Rachel's reaction when she found out Tobias can morph his old form for book #13 but (sigh) That'll probaly never happen.

A family for Tobias?
Tobias Birthday is coming up and he's been called to an attorney's office to be read his fathers will...And a 'Long-lost' cousin supposedly just came back from Africa and she wants to adopt Tobias.Could it be true?Could Tobias really have a family? If he did,he would have to morph human, and stay that way. become a nothlit again...that would mean dropping out of the fight, No more Yeerks,Morphing,or Animorphs.....Well,he would still have Rachel, and they would BOTH be human.....But can he give up his new life as a hawk?Give up flying?Well, his Birthday is coming closer, and now Tobias is about to learn the Secrets of his past........................

I loved this book, espcially what Tobias learned about his father! When I read I just sat there and was like,Oh my Gosh!!!!!!Then I got the Andalite Cronicles and it kinda explained it.....Hmmmmmm,I wonder if Tobias will ever meet his Mother,Loren????????Anyway,This was definatly one of the best Animorph books,All the Tobias books are! They really show his feelings, and emotions, what its like to know that you will be trapped as a hawk forever, and now his feelings about Elfangor, how important he really was to him......I recomend this book,You'll probally be laughing, crying, and wondering right along with Tobias!!!!

One of her most involving books yet!
This was one of KA's most involving books yet! There is only one problem I see with Tobias narratives: The ANIMORPHS don't realise that he could morph human for two hours and then use the box to get his morphing powers back. That is bugging me. I like the book because Tobias discovers something vital at the end; something only those who have read The Andalite Chronicles know. However, maybe a lot of people haven't read that book, so I can't say the ending. One other thing bothers me: Marco is too sarcastic and Rachel too warrior-like to come right out and say that they like each other. I wish they would at least tell each other because its obvious from the way they tease each other but its getting annoying that they won't say it out loud.

not the best
In this book the Animorphs and Ax find out that instant rasien cinnimon oatmeal will make a Yeerk free from Kandrona, but the Yeerk will go insane. The Yeerk will stay in the host's head, no needing Kandrona, but the host will be in control almost all of the time. So the animorphs morphs moles and dig into a bat cave, then morphs bats and go into the Yeerk pool. Read the book to find out what happens next!

I think yall might find this interestin'
Book #17 opens with an incredible rescue: a crazed Controller leaps from the top of a skyscraper and the Animorphs, all in bird-of-prey morph must try and save him before he hits the ground. Book #17 is a Rachel book in which the Animorphs discover a very strange fact about the Yeerks: they have an odd addiction. This addiction allows them to be free of the need for kandrona rays, but at a price. The question facing the Animorphs is whether they can, or should, use this knowledge against the Yeerks. In the process the kids must find a new and terrifying way into the Yeerk Pool. A way that involves morphing bats and moles, among other things. Cool, huh? I got this off a chat. enjoy! Osprey

Ax and the Animorphs have a weapon, but might not be lucky.
"What's tasty, good for you, and only takes about sixty seconds to make? Oatmeal." If it's instant maple and ginger oatmeal, it's a weapon against the Yeerks. By the way, Yeerks are parasitic slugs that enter other living bodies through the ear canal, seep into the nooks and crannies in the brain, then take over the body and read its memories like a book.

So this oatmeal weapon sounds good right? But that's where your wrong. It might mean a trip to the Yeerk pool, a chance of running into Visser Three once again, and this time there might not be a way to get back to the surface. "The Animorphs and Ax have taken chances before and been very lucky. But this time their luck may be about to run out . . ."
