One of the most beautiful books you can own...
I stumbled upon this book in New York a few years back and was immediately stunned by its beauty and quality. The Gilman Paper Company apparently started their collection well before the current photography craze and amassed one of the most outstanding collections that you can imagine. Most of these photos are from the very earliest days of the medium and many are in the sepia tone that I personally love. The quality of reproduction is so good that you can actually frame some of the photos! It's astounding...well worth obtaining for any art book collector.

A Gorgeous Catalogue
I purchased this book in conjunction with The Metropolitan Museum exhibit of the same name. I spent hours in the exhibit, and I spent hours pouring over the lush, and beautifully reproduced images in this book. I've always been fascinated with the photographic process, and this book explores it down to the roots. I've walked away amazed that someone figured out how to look at something, and through a chemical process tranfer ones vision onto paper. (Not to mention concocting the chemical formula) A stunning book, well worth the price.

Great young adult story
Watching Maria is a wonderful coming of age story that deals with the turmoil of divorce, fitting in, sexuality, and relationships. It has great detail and a fluid storyline. I highly recommend this book to men and women.

Great Imagery and Wonderful stroyline
The author has done a wonderful job creating a link between two personal relationships. He has established a deep psychological bond between the charachters that makes each one tangible and believable. I cannot wait to read his next novel!

creepy stories
whistle in the graveyard is fantastic book i would love to
read it a second time or even a third. they are very good stories to tell at night time. I enjoyed reading them to my cousins and they got scared.I think its the best book ever because I love spooky stories.

Gruesome and spooky!
I used to check this book out from my school library continually when I was in about 6th grade. It contains spine-tingling tales to read in the dark. Read about a cat with no eyes and the witch who uses them to see at night for hunting. Read about baba yaga, a creature who lives in a house with legs and eats children. Yikes!! You must read these stories.

A "Must" for MS Word:mac 2001 Users
Since Microsoft does not include any manuals or written materials with Word:mac 2001, Ms. Langer's book is indispensable. Her explanations are clear, concise, and to the point. Her instructions are much more easy to follow than what appears in the onscreen MS Word Help.

Learn it, do it, get on with it!
This book does just what it says it does: it provides a no-nonsense, quick and easy approach to learning specific tasks with Microsoft Word. Need to do something? Look it up. The pictures and step-by-step instructions make it impossible to screw things up. And the Tips in many of the sections help you go beyond the basics. All without a lot of time-consuming "dummies" chatter. This is the third Visual Quick Guide I have by Maria Langer and all I can say is that she really knows her stuff!

My great,great grandmother
I am a Leveridge in fact I am a great, great granddaughter to Anna.I grew up in Coe Hill Ont.I have spent a lot of time on the farm that Anna talks about.I am thrilled that this book is still available for purchase.

An inspirational look at life for early Ontario pioneers.
Our family has a cottage in the Coe Hill area, which is the setting for this book. I remember reading it as a child and being fascinated by the lives of the Leveridge family in the back woods of Ontario. Anna Leveridge's correspondence with various family members in England gives a unique look at her new life in 19th century Ontario. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in a first hand account of pioneer life in Ontario. If you visit the Coe Hill Ontario area, you can still find remains of her old homestead. I visited it 10 years ago and it made the book even more special to me.

My name is Scott but my dad calls me Scottie. My dad got me this book because I like to play outside. We would read the book and play the games outside. I like the pictures in it too. I can read but not all the words. Thank you for a good book.
