It's the real thing, y'all.
I grew up on the Texas-Mexico border surrounded by terrific Mexican restaurants, both gourmet and hole in the wall. After I moved to the Northwest I went into Mexican food withdrawal, since nothing in my new area really deserves the name of Mexican food. I got so desperate I decided I would learn to make it myself. I went through a lot of cookbooks to find this--and it tastes like home. The acid test: my southwestern relatives came up for a visit and said these were the best enchiladas they'd ever tasted. At six bucks, what a bargain!

This book is great for basic Mexican cooking, the best...
I moved to Arizona from Minnesota and aquired a taste for true Mexican cooking. This cookbook provides great recipes for excellent authentic Mexican favorites, from the basics, to salsa's, to entire meals.

I highly recommend it.

Truly excellent; this is an authentic collection of recipes
After collecting cookbooks for over 30 years, and specializing in Mexican cooking, I've found three really reliable Mexican cookbooks that I use all the time:

1. This book (Mexican Family Favorites Cook Book)

2. Concina de la Familia (My favorite of the three)

3. 365 Easy Mexican Recipes (believe it or not!)

So if you're after the real taste of Mexico, I suggest you invest in these (and don't waste your time with the other 35 Mexican cookbooks I've bought)!!

Ms. Bermudez is a good, honest author.

A compelling story that held my attention from start to end.
This story was a compelling read and held my attention from start to finish. Patrick's protection of Dinah was enthalling. He was and is surely her most loving guardian angel.

An amazing story that reads like fiction.
I'm skeptical when it comes to this topic...but this book is written with such honesty and love that I think there is truth to the concept of Guardian Angels. I would like to read more books by this author.

Once I started reading could not put the book down.
Very fast paced book, that held my interest till I finished. The subject matter, of a young women devastated at the loss of her husband in a tragic accident and the intervention of her deceased husband as a guardian angel was well documented. The story was presented in a way, that it was highly believable. I hope to read more books by this author.

Beautiful!
A very sweet story.. beautifully illustrated! As a bilingual mom of a 5 month-old baby, I enjoyed reading this book. Although the title suggest a book in Spanish, it's actually beautifully written in English.

A Beautiful Story About a Beautiful Girl.
I loved this book! We're a bilingual family and when we first read this story in Spanish, my children and I laughed and squealed with delight. The language is uniquely latin, and the author uses the words pu-pu for poop, and pipi for pee which made us really laugh.

But the sweetness of the story is really how the little white bunny fell in love with the little black girls' striking beauty, and determined that if he himself could not look like her, then he would seek to marry a black and beautiful rabbit, and perhaps have children who were beautiful and dark.

Excellent book dealing with race and diversity for children.
This is a delightful story about a white bunny who falls in love with a beautiful Black girl. The bunny tries everything to turn himself Black. In the end he marries a Black bunny and they have grey, black and white bunnies. A very positive book which deals with racial bias, and racial differences. A positive story for children of all races.

couldn't put it down
This is the kind of book that makes your heart bigger at least for a while. It's funny and sad and hip and real.

a great, smart, fun read
A friend gave me this book, and I got a huge kick out of it. It's smart, funny, and original. I couldn't put it down.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL BOOK
This is a wonderful book about a young woman reaching a crisis in her life. It is not corny fiction. It is completely and brutally honest about women's true feelings about men, and it has an ending that will make your hair stand on end. Carter is one terrific writer -- at once sensitive and poetic and yet completely down to earth and willing to get into the gutter. I recommend it highly.

The greatest one I ever read besides The Holy Bible
Walk with Jesus...!!
How lucky we are to see the life of Jesus..to follow the footsteps of the Saviour..literally

Buy this book, if you love Jesus and Mary.

Awe-inspiring, Life-changing Book
Poem of the Man-god books are basically elaborate versions of the Gospels...and much more. I believe you are spiritually called to read these books. They "change" your life as Jesus and Mary reveal the "wonders" of their lives -- and their on-going relationship with us today. Words cannot describe what the five volumes of these books did for me on a spiritual level. They answered every question I had about faith -- and in a timely way so that stories and ideas were revealed to me as questions formed in my mind. Truly the greatest book ever!

the greatest telling of the greatest story ever told
Wether you accept the divine visionary status of the author, or are even a christian or not, you will LOVE the telling of the gospels of the New Testament in the detailed personalized fashion used by Maria Valtorta. Even if taken as Biblical or historical fiction, it is a masterpiece of in depth characterization and story telling that stands on its own as unique, inspiring, and personal. If you would like a way to visit the times and people of Jesus Christ's life and mission in a most vibrant true to life manner, these are the books for you. It brings the gospels, the characters, the times and circumstances of Jesus' teachings into a perspective of personality and human depth you will appreciate long after you finish the books. Maria Valtorta's writing brings the relationships between the apostles and Jesus, each other, and his mother to a level of intimacy and approachability way beyond the dogmatic limits and formality possible in the Bible. They reveal the LIFE behind the scriptural verses. I am not a Christian myself, yet if i were, i'm sure i would get even more excited about these books than i already am. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a most satisfyingly uplifting read. And even more so for anyone seriously seeking to get to know Jesus, His associates and teachings better.

As the title says: "Magnifico!"
Having travelled to Puerto Rico dozens of times over the past twenty years (and I lived there for a time as well), I have to say this is absolutely the most impressive and complete "coffee-table" book on the island that I have ever seen. It is large-format, filled with superb color photographs (including a lot of aerials and a fascinating "then and now" chapter of archival pictures side-by-side with the same scene as it is today). And the text doesn't insult your intelligence -- it's a concise overview of Puerto Rico's history. An added plus is the Spanish translation (done by a Puerto Rican translator) at the back of the book -- too many books about Puerto Rico ignore the island's linguistic heritage! I've given several copies to friends who love the island. The jacket blurb says the author was once a Peace Corps Volunteer, and it shows ... this is a real in-depth portrait, not just "post-cardy" superficial coverage.

Magnificent Arm Chair Travel
For anyone familiar or unfamiliar with Puerto Rico, this superb pictorial and eloquently written portrait of this country, its culture, its people and its history, will bring the reader palpably close to the very pulse of the island. Page after page of breathtaking photography and descriptive narrative succeed in transporting you to the the subject matter at hand. Both visually and verbally, this book lifts you right off each page as it gives you a soaring birdseye view of one of the Caribbean's most beautiful island destinations. The overall impact of this book on one's senses can only be exceeded by actually being there. Otherwise, be prepared for some unsurpassable armchair travel.

The ultimate guide to Puerto Rico.
This stunner provides you with two books rolled into one, a beautiful and timeless collection of more than 100 lush photographs as well as an easy-to-read history of Puerto Rico. It is apparent from the obvious care and attention to detail that went into this book that the author is both dedicated to his craft and enamored of the people and island that he is profiling. The book depicts the great diversity of Puerto Rico -- from the hustle and bustle of its urban centers (including the grand architectural heritage) to the most desolate and pristine parts of the island, shown both in close-up and from the air. The stars of the book are the people themselves, who act as guides to the island and invite you to visit them for the first time or simply to return again as old friends. A highly recommended work.

When You are Ready to Know Your Soul's Journey
This book sat on my shelf until I was ready, then I consummed it. I am not an avid reader. The style flows and captures the mind, soul and immagination. You must be ready, however, you cannot read this book and it not change your life. You will never look at this life's journey the same way again. Brace yourself!

excellent, amazing, inthralling
All that I can say is that this book has been the answer to many of my questions. It is an amazing story that entertains while telling a remarkable tale. I highly reccomend this book.

The best work on the Alchemy and the Philosophers Stone
This was the most interesting treaties written on this subject, dealing with the outrageous personage of The Count Saint Germain and his pupil, spanning many lives and the inherent effects of using the Philosophers Stone before being prepared. Enticing reading as you follow the journey through the lives of the pupil as he attains the knowledge of the tree of life, and the wisdom to attain the Red Lion

I read this book in one sitting! It is a very spiritual book and feels like you are reading a beautiful poem. Makes you want to reach out and touch everyone and heal them too. What a beautiful and wondrous gift Ingrid has. Especially interesting were her stories of when she worked with the children.

The "Complete Guide to Mary"
Finally, an all in one book on Mary for the average person! It was a pleasure to read this book as it contains: the role of tradition, Church teachings, noted theologians, the place of apparations, Marian prayers and personal reflection all in one volume. Most important, however, Ms. Scaperlanda stresses the place of Mary in Catholic teaching and her role thoroughout the book. Mary is "honored" by the Church, not worshiped and her role is to point to Jesus. Mary is a model of obedience, that is, of listening to God, and she shows us what God's grace can do in us when we say "yes" to God. . .it allows Christ to be born in us. A wonderful book for every Protestant as it also contains how founders like Calvin and Luther honored Mary.

Mary for anyone
I found this to be a very readable book about Mary, Mother of Jesus. Mrs. Scaperlanda does a great job of demystifying the person of Mary for the general public. I highly recommend this book and have made it available to my class of adults preparing to enter the Roman Catholic Church.

Seeking a Guide
A concise, lucid guide to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and to Mariology, the faith traditions that have grown up around the figure of the historical Mary. It includes historical, hagiographical, and devotional information about Mary, including apparitions, shrines, and popular devotions. The materials of the "guide" are interspersed with reflections of a "seeker": the daily significance and usefulness of the Marian tradition to a contemporary woman. Useful both to the intellectually and spiritually curious.
