WONDERFUL!
I read the small book in one sitting and choose a meditation that seemed right for me, and off I went. The mantras on the audio cassette are done with a group so that you have the feeling that you are in a class. Each meditation is under 15 minutes so that you can do one or more depending on your time. I liked the tape so much that I passed it onto a friend. It really explains the use of mantras; suggests that you can make up your own according to your religion or preference; offers traditional Sanskrit mantras and explains their meanings; explains the use of mudras (hand postures) and offers a variety of breath work. It really demystifies mantra meditation for me and opened up a door in my life.

Everything needed to start meditating- and to keep up!
I loved Khalsa's "Success of the Soul" so I was thrilled to learn that he had done an earlier book. His writing is so simple, so clear, and yet often profound. Above all he is able to take the mystery out of meditation without sacrificing any of its power. I had tried to meditate before but could never motivate myself to stay with it long enough to have any effect. This book changed all that. The language is definitely motivating and the audio tape makes it feel like one is meditating along with a group and is being guided by a kind and knowledgable teacher. Subagh Khalsa is a gifted teacher and this book is a little gem.

A great insight into real Punjabi culture
I was only three years old when I emigrated to England from India, with my parents. I had not little idea about Indian culture and the way of life of Indians divided between Indian culture and Western society and its demands. This book gave me a great opportunity to actually be in the skin of people living these kind s of lives, their emotional experiences as well as their conflict with Western culture. It seemed to me to be so easy to emigrate but this book makes one realise what a traumatic upheaval immigrants can go through. I thank Mr. Bindra for opening this world to us. N.Crequer

An Indians View of India
Ragubir Singh's India is poignant, stark, vital and alive. His photographs of everyday life in India are glimpses into the soul of all strata of Indian life. Whether seeing a mother and child, two little girls who are best friends, or the incredible paradox a rich man and his luxury car juxtaposed to the glaring, overwhelming poverty and human suffering, one can't help but be deeply moved and touched by the vibrant movement flowing through each and every image in this visual journey to the real India.

Stunning, compelling photography
If you have ever been to India, or have ever wished in your mind's eye to go there, this is the book for you. Singh's legacy is to offer captivating images. Even my five year old daughter will sit and look at each image for the longest time, and think of what is seen -- just like a visit to India itself!

Unique and Beautiful
It's too bad this book has gone out of print, because it's fantastic! Not only does it have 7 days' worth of Kundalini Yoga workouts, but there are several of Ravi Singh's beautiful poems interspersed throughout. The black and white photographs are very nice and a great help when you are trying to do the exercises. Singh explains, briefly, the history of Kundalini, and there are appendices in the back which feature many different types of mantras and meditations, plus information on the chakras. There is an introductory warm-up set that is to precede each day's workout, and then for each day of the week there is a set of exercises which correspond to the energies of that particular day; for example, Monday, ruled by the Moon, features exercises which balance the emotions. Each exercise is followed by a short description of what it will do for you. The only thing I did not like about the book is that I wish the descriptions of the different types of breathing were more detailed and explanatory. Otherwise, this book is filled with beautiful words, lovely photos, and is a nice introduction to Kundalini Yoga.

great book as fantastic as Ravi's classes
Great book. Kundalini yoga has really changed my life. I especially like this book. His writing is very inspirational, and so many insights are next to each other. The yoga sets (kryias) are very unique. By just doing one of the sets you'll gain more personal benefit from it than you had to spend for the book

Silences Selected Poems Gulzar

A must for all Gulzar Fans
Translation of Gulzar poetry is always going to be a difficult task for any one. Gulzar saheb is very particular in selection of word in his poetry. Most of the words and Upmaas loose their meanings if translated eg. "Shaam ka pighla hua surkh sunhari rogan" or words like "Maazi, shafaq, Khuunas". But Silences is a good attempt as far as selection of poems or translation is concerned. A must for all Gulzar Fans

Amazing Achievement
Not letting the juices out of the translation , the sweetness and the sadness in Gulzar's poems have been perfectly retained by Rina Singh. A collector's item. Buy it !

Priceless talks on the practice of spirituality
This is the first collection of talks by Sant Ajaib Singh Ji that was published by Sant Bani Ashram. Later ones include _The Palace of Love_ (on the Vars of Guru Nanak, 1st Guru of the Sikhs), _The Jewel of happiness_ (on the "Sukhmani" of Guru Arjan, the 5th Guru), _The Two Ways_ (on the "Gauri vars" of Guru Ramdas, the 4th Guru). The great Saint and poet was a man of practice. He used to pick some verse from the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh Scripture, and rather than just comment it, He would explain it and make it fresh and actual, with lots of examples and stories, so that this treasure of spirituality may be put into practice by truth seekers everywhere and anywhere. This is priceless devotional poetry.

Something special about this man!
A simple man attains greatness.

To read about the truth is one thing, but to see with your own Eye is another.

Enlightening and cleverly written.
This novel is a ground-breaking piece of work of popular fiction. Its narrative element of vivid descriptions, moralistic themes and arduous adventure makes it an absolute must to read.

A truely remarkable peice of work
This book is highly uplifting and elegantly written. Many books come and go, but I believe that 'The True Self' will be enduring because of its inspiring messsage which comes from an author whom I believe has a deep spiritual insight. 'The True Self' is like an encyclopedia which contains a number topics most of which ought to be addressed by reasoning with one's self. I strongly recommend this book to all readers as it is truly a remarkable piece of work
