Best Walk-thru I've Used
This was one of the best walk-through book (text and images) that I have used in learning Access. Access is somewhat a more difficult application to learn, but this format was great.

Thnks for the author who developed the first thought of this design.

Huxley and God: Essays
Published in Paperback by HarperCollins (paper) (1992)
Authors: Aldous Huxley and Jacqueline Bridgeman
Amazon base price: $14.00
Used price: $12.00
Average review score:

A five-plus star book
This book is a collection of 26 essays and two poems written by Aldous Huxley during the last twenty years of his life. Each essay is about man's relationship with God, with the environment and with his fellow man. Huxley started out life as an agnostic and, at times, took a sarcastic, almost caustic attitude towards religion. However, certainly by 1939, his attitude had changed, as those familiar with Huxley's later works will recognise. In fact, several of the essays contained in this book appear in Huxley's later novels such as DEVILS OF LOUDON and TIME MUST HAVE A STOP.

Huxley believed that those who wholeheartedly and sincerely seek God will find what they're looking for. He tried to strip religion of all the tradition and trappings to find a common thread running through all religions. What he found was, in part, that God is One and that God is love. In these essays, he shares his methods for seeking (and finding) God. He also shares his thoughts on the destructiveness of misguided religious idealism and nationalism. There's alot of deep thought in this book. I really can't do Huxley justice in a review of one of his religious works. The man was in a class all by himself. I will say that this book makes its readers stop and think. The essays contained in this book are particularly apropos to a warring and terrorism-stricken society such as ours. I especially recommend two essays, "On a Sentence from Shakespeare" and "A Minimum Working Hypothesis". You'll see life differently after reading them.

Did you ever think a book was written to save your life?
I did read this book many years ago, I did wait, I don't know for what, but after some years I started to get contact to the people of this book in Germany and I was there and I did find, what Jacky Lair describes in this book. What more could someone wish and hope for, when he gets a book in his hands

The Innovation Equation : Building Creativity and Risk-Taking in Your Organization
Published in Paperback by Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer (2002)
Authors: Jacqueline Byrd and Paul Lockwood Brown
Amazon base price: $35.00
Used price: $29.41

Thorough and Practical
Byrd and Brown show how innovation can help organizations grow and how the lack of innovation can stifle companies. Recognizing that it takes all types of people to have a functioning organization, this book helps individuals, groups and organizations recognize their innovative strengths and weaknesses. Equally important are the stop signs that inhibit organizational growth. Many people talk about the value of innovation in organizations but this book takes that discussion much further, defining and thoroughly analyzing innovation and, more importantly, providing the reader with tools that can be easily applied.

Great guide book!
This guide book may lack the extensive lists of hotels and restaurants that Lonely Planet guides have, but for someone who is curious about travelling to Persia, this is a great idea. There are some nice photos, information on how to get there, and a good amount of cultural notes. While some of the material is probably outdated, its a great book for those who are interested in Iran.

Is Your Child Ready for School?: A Parent's Guide to the Readiness Tests Required by Public and Private Primary Schools
Published in Paperback by Hungry Minds, Inc (1990)
Author: Jacqueline Robinson
Amazon base price: $12.95
Used price: $6.00
Average review score:

Is your child ready for school?
This is an excellent book for parents who need guidelines for teaching a preschool child some of the basics. Readiness tests are also included. My only concern is that this book seems to be written with the most academically gifted child in mind. My hope is that parents will use it to provide themselves with ideas for play and fun with their child rather than a measuring stick to negatively compare their child with the requirements suggested in this book. Not every four year old is interested in paper and pencil work or in reciting the alphabet. However, with an attitude of fun children seem to respond to just about any game their parents want to play. If the games in this book are well used a child would receive valuable parental attention as well as an introduction to settling down to use their small muscles and comprehending their first abstract ideas.
