Please Reprint this!
Krinata, a loyal servant of the empire, is a debriefing officer for the emperor Zinzik, (A position similar to researcher, as far as I can surmise). When the emperor, an evil man, plots to rid the world of the near immortal Dushau who have helped to found their civilization, Krinata becomes involved inadvertently. Soon it becomes a race against time to rescue the Dushau before its too late.

This was truly a fascinating read! The Dushau are a fascinating race, of blue, humanoids who are near-immortal. They possess a telepathic gift (although the Dushau really deny this), and they work in something called an 'oliat' which is a group of Dushau who work together, and have a sort of communal mind.

The hero, Jindigar, is a Dushau prince and a rebel. His telepathic gifts make him a really sensitive yet pragmatic type which I found appealing. Krinata is a smart capable non-whiny heroine who makes mistakes but knows how to get things done! Minor characters such as Arlai, the ships AI, and Storm, the Ensyvian were also well done. (I would've loved to have a description of the Ensyvian's, I could never quite figure out what they were supposed to look like)!

Lichtenberg writes Science Fiction that you can really sink your teeth into. This is an older book, but better than most modern fiction. I recommend this book for fans of character driven drama, or those who like telepathic man characters! Excellent.

Kids will like to look at this one up close!
This book has neat step-cut pages that get bigger as the pyramid grows. There is simple text explaining the process of pyramid building for young children, as well as additional facts and information for older or more experienced children. I am taking my kindergarten class on a field trip to an Egyptian exhibit, and this will be a good book to introduce them to the pyramids.. we may even make our own! I was surprised when I received the book -- it is a hardcover with sturdy pages!

Very Very Useful!!!!
If you need to whip up a lesson or you have a great activity and need some specialized vocabulary...this is it! This book is also very helpful when you can't think of examples "off the top of you head," but you know the "grammar-point" you want to make. For instance, it lists exceptions to rules, idioms, prespositions, common mistakes made by specific groups of language learners, etc... I've used it at least three times a week for four years!

Great Book
I used this book among others to do a research paper on the history of San Francisco, specifically, Prostitution which took place during the gold rush days. The core of my paper was based on the useful information provided in this book. It was well written. Barnhardt does a superb job to illustrate that the prostitutes were the true pioneers of San Francisco. She further illustrates how these "ladies" played an important role in the development of the City.

A quintet of creative, colorful, musical children.
My children and I have checked Five Live Bongos out of the library at least a dozen times in the past two years. The frazzled parents are true to life - and yet encourage the creative energy of their brood. The kids get along great - a wonderful example in a world so full of conflict. They work hard to have fun, which is the most important work of childhood. The rhythmic text and colorful artrwork delight my three year old and he practically gets up to dance when we read the book. He keeps asking me to buy it. I was very disappointed to find that it is out of print so soon. Overall, it is a great book for kids ages two to ten.

Terrific addition to guide books
With so many competing guide books on the market, especially to popular destinations like London, product differentiation appealing to different sectors of the market is necessary to stay in the race.

This is in the same series as Fodor's Around Paris With Kids, and is a welcome foray into this market from a travel guide publisher long though to be the exclusive preserve of the well-heeled and unadventurous traveller.

This book is a handy accompaniement to a visit to London for anyone with children.

The information is useful, the size is wholly convenient. Nothing glossy, no photos, no pictures at all. I have borrowed all the glossy stuff from the library to read ahead of time, and anything useful have put as margin notes in THIS book, because this is the one I plan to have along. It tells you how to get to each place, opening hours, what to see and do there. Includes information on attractions especially for kids, as well as all the conventional tourist sites, museums etc, emphasising the aspects that are most likely to appeal to kids.

If you are a first-time visitor to London you may feel more comfortable having a good, conventional guide book along as well, but if you don't need the basics AND you have children along with you, I reckon you'll want to have this book above all others.

An enchanting first reader
This book evokes the peace of winter in the woods. Animals travel home, each in his/her own way. We see the animal moving in the woods, then snuggled up in its own cozy home. The illustrations are beautiful. I've purchased two copies so far--one for my sons and one for a cousin. I'd highly recommend this peaceful book to anyone with a beginning reader in the family.
