An eye-opening sense of being connected to the past
Through the use of illustrations of actual case studies, the author draws you into an urgency of building a good heritage for your children and the generations to come. He points out that we are passing a heritage. . .good or bad. So since we are affecting the next generation with our actions and value systems, why not be intentional about doing it right.

He points out that we are passing an emotional, social, and spiritual legacy. Each legacy is defined. After each legacy chapter, an evaluation is available for the reader to determine what he or she was given from his ancestors.

The author then produced a "Tool Chest" containing four tools that help in passing a healthy legacy to the next generation.

It's a "must read" for those interested in this subject.

Provocative material
This tidy volume is useful for the scholar of post-renaissance poetics, philosophy, or philology as an introduction to one line of thinking on these matters: the German tradition of hermeneutics, from which whole academic disciplines and intellectual approaches (philosophical hermeneutics, deconstruction...) has arisen.

The selections provided give the careful reader a taste of how certain themes such as understanding and interpretation have developed in dialogue with (or in some cases outright imitation of) other conceptions of the same themes. Dilthey's ideas, for example, become much more pregnant with significance when the reader is reminded of Schleiermacher before and Heidegger after. It's striking to me at least how indebted twentieth-century thinkers such as Bakhtin and Wittgenstein are to Dilthey and friends--so these pages are still relevant and contemporary in many ways.

The introduction and bibliographies are also complete and as far as I can tell comprehensive.

Yes, yes. I hope this is helpful.

Herzog & De Meuron: Natural History
Another object book with content that matches the originality of the design. Herzog & De Meuron, the Basel-based architects, are best known for their art museums, but also for creating buildings that are works of art--even when the program is as mundane as a railroad signal box. This companion to the recent CCA exhibition is an anthology of interviews, stimulating essays by artists and clients, and pictures of objects that have inspired them, in addition to an illustrated catalogue of their 200 buildings and projects. (Michael Webb is the book reviewer for LA Architect magazine.)

A Bold, Youthful Adventurer
Kurt shows us so much of the culture, and what it takes to survive - completely independantly of storeshed of cash! His brilliant humor is exemplified throughout.

I know Kurt personally. I can't believe he hung up his drumming / music career hopes to travel in this manner (he's quite an excellent muti-instrumentalist as well)! We're very happy he did, though.

This is truly a gem - a short, yet very interesting read! I dare you to put the book down once begun!

Good Graphics
This is a good monography of the L.A. based architectural firm hodgetts and Fung. Most of their work in the book has a connection with the film industry.

The book addresses the earlier work of the firm. It does a good job in providing an insight of the firm's style and approach to design.

Share a Christian message in every holiday!
Let's face it! Some holidays are more prone to teachable Christian moments than others. Of course, we all have occasion to discuss Christ's birth at Christmas, but how about Halloween and 4th of July, etc... You can create those opportunities with this Heritage Builder volume dedicated to maximize these opportunities. Our family has had such success with the "Intro. to Family Nights" volume that I got this one now and love it now too!

A delightful tale based on a true story
When Waino and Ivar find a moose in their father's stable, the critter looked so sad they couldn't bear to shoot him. The final solution to this unique situation is as heartwarming as it is entertaining. This is a delightful tale based on a true story from Biwabik, Minnesota, and replete with historical information about life for Finnish immigrant children in Minnesota. When it was originally published, Honk: The Moose won distinction as a Newbery Honors Book in 1936. It went on to win the Lewis Carol Shelf Award in 1970, and was listed in Cattermole's 100 Best Children's Books of the 20th Century. Now in a new edition from Trellis Publishing, Phil Strong's Honk: The Moose (wonderfully illustrated by Kurt Wiese) is once again introduced to a whole new generation of appreciative children.

Five Stars... what do you expect? It's my book!
I'm sure this review won't be very persuasive being that it's coming from the author. I can assure you, dear prospective reader, that this was no half-hearted effort. I poured a tremendous amount of time and energy into this book; it took me about one year to write the text and develop all of the line art. Kudos to Dan Kennedy and his staff at Whitehorse Press for the editing and layout. They appearance of the book is absolutely first rate, and I'm proud that the book is the first one by Whitehorse Press to be done in full color from cover to cover.

As far as I know, this is the first book to detail the methods and technology of automotive and motorcycle plastic repair for the layman. It builds on my eight years of experience as technical support director for Urethane Supply Company, a leading manufacturer of plastic repair and refinishing products for the automotive collision repair industry.

This is a great book for the do-it-yourselfer who wants to do some repair or restoration work to his own vehicle. It would also be a great study guide for the collision repair technician who would like to broaden his skills base and create a source for additional revenue. The book only assumes that you have an interest and desire to save money by repairing your own plastic parts.

I think there's a very good chance that, if you choose to buy this book, you'll save the purchase price of the book with your very first repair and that you'll build skills that will save you much more money in the long run. If you have any questions about the book, please e-mail me at kurt@urethanesupply.com. Enjoy!
