Terrorism has fascinated me ever since I have been able to understand its complexities. I highly recommend Kurt Carlson's book, as he explains with vivid candor the courage of the crew, especially Uli Derickson, his terror at being brutally beaten and the anger of the Lebenese terrorists who hijacked Flight 847. It is a book that will transport you to that Boeing 727 on June 14th -- a searing memoir that will take you back to when airline terrorism was at its climax.

The story of the 1985 TWA incident has always been very interesting to me, for almost 5 years now. This is one of the best sources of what happened on the plane. The way the story is told is very suspenseful and very engrossing, and is presented in such a way that once you open the book, you won't be able to close it until you're finished, like in my case. You should definitely grab this book!! It could be one of the best books you'll ever read!!

Petrogenesis of metamorphic rocks is probable the best textbook available for students of metamorphic petrology. In a short, concise form it introduces the reader to the principles of metamorphic petrology as well as to the evolution of different rock types under changing metamorphic conditions.

This book is divided into two sections. The first section deals with the basic princiles of metamorphism, including composition of source rocks, types, processes and condidtions of metamorphism. A very detailed description on the construction of metamorphic projections is also included. Part two covers the metamorphism of different rock compositions including ultramafic, mafic, carbonate, pelitic, and granitoid rocks. This section is very detailed, without bogging down with specific examples of metamorphism.

THIS BOOK IS PARTICULARLY INFORMATIVE ABOUT THE PROTESTANT LIFE OF THE PEOPLE MOSTLY FROM SOUTHERN IRELAND AND WHAT EFFECT RELIGION HAS ON THEIR LIVES. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND IT!!!

The very best collection of funny essays since the heyday of Mencken and Thurber. Andersen writes with equal authority on bourbon, cola and lazy dog missile clusters. With the success of his new novel, I hope this collection will see its way back into print.

I am absolutely appalled that this book is out of print. All those readers who have yet to experience the keen-wit and affected arrogance of the fabulous Mr. Andersen... really, it's heart-breaking. The Real Thing is extraordinarily amusing. I think it's safe to say that only certain types of people will enjoy this fabulous collection of satirical essays. His chapters on Affectations and Self-help Quizzes were especially hilarious. Many of the pop-culture references were before my time but, I still found the entire book humourous. I envy the elevation in experience of those readers who actually remember the early 80's. I urge everyone to track down a copy of this book. Mr. Andersen is my hero.

This is a must read; Torrance cuts right to the heart of "evangelicalism" by calling the very nature of Scripture into question. To what extent do evangelicals engage in "Scripture worship?" Borrowing philosophy's well known linguistic/semantic relationship between "sign" and "thing signified," Torrance argues that evangelicals all too often may stop short of -- and indeed confine -- the ontological Reality of the One True God ("thing signified") in their defense of the authority of the Scriptures ("sign"). That is, awareness of the reality of God in its totality may be compromised when evangelicals continue to insist on finding this reality in the Scriptures alone.

There exists a Reality of God that language -- and thus Scripture -- is impotent to convey. It is this Reality, Torrance suggests, that Christians should be seeking, and not stopping short at the signs that point to it.

T. F. Torrance has been an important voice in Protestant theology for over 50 years. This relatively brief book offers an accessible summary of what he takes to be theology's claims to speak truth about reality. His writing is marked by an impressive awareness of historic Christian theology combined with an equally impressive awareness of contemporary writers such as Dummett, Gadamer, and (above all) Polanyi. Anyone interested in Christian epistemology should be aware of Torrance, and this book is a fine place to start.

there was a lot of things in this world i didn't know how to do until i read this book. it opened up my imagination i never knew i had. i now do do-it-myself. thanks for all thew know how!!

I bought this book after seeing that what it contained was everything I was searching for. I have collected many old issues of Popular Mechanix/Science from the 40's and 50's, because back then they showed you exactly how to do things yourself - to be self sufficient.

One Popular Mechanix issue I have shows how to build your own clothes washing machine - another shows how to create your own garden tractor, and a third describes how to turn your basement into a workshop from junk parts. You won't find that in any magazine from today!

Unfortunately, each of these magazines take up space. I wished for a long while that there was one source of information I could go to to find things like this. I haven't found The Grand Encyclopaedia yet, but I have come close with the Survivor series.

Many of the little anecdotal sidebars that Kurt Saxon writes might make one think that he is racist - but after I read many of them (not just one, but almost all!), I have come to realize that the only thing Saxon is against is anybody too lazy to do things himself. I don't think he picks the right words sometimes to express himself, but he does get his point across.

This is one excellent book - as well as an excellent series. Any do-it-yourselfer would be crazy not to own this book. No home should be without it.

This book is head and shoulders above the Eissenberg book (O'Reilly). Kurt Cagle is a serious developer, and the book shows it, with advanced examples that explore all aspects of programming. It would have been nice to have a .zip file that had all the examples in it, but that's a minor nit.

Finally an SVG Bible for the Web. I have worked with SVG for just under 2 years and had to learn SVG from the W3C documents and lots of "experiments". I have only reviewed half of this book so far and found a wealth of knowledge on using SVG on the Web. It's examples are solid and well organized.

This book can be used by the novice and the experienced to add the coolest vector graphics to their Website. This book is well balanced for all levels. It has earned a well respected slot next to my computer...

This is a great book on Team Roping by author Leo Camarillo & I could be Joe Beaver the team roping (header) & my team roping (heeling) partner Alica Foster or Stephen Shore.

This is the man who turned team roping into an art form. It would be cool to do team roping in Las, Vegas Nevada at The National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas & Mack Center & other places would be cool & fun!

Leo Camarillo has a wife named Sharon & they live near Lockeford, California & continue to compete and win at rodeos throughout the country. Leo has a brother Jerold & cousin Reg Camarillo also conducts roping schools for aspiring ropers.

Now when two cowboys rope a steer, they must brand it & let it go back to it's mother...

i found this book at a time in my roping career where as most people get sometimes think they know it all and this book really helped me get back to the fundimentals and greatly improved my times, it also helped me with heeling where i was self taught and fairly concistent i am now as good a heeler as i am a header (almost). the book braught me back to the fundimentals, i think if it helped me it can help you.
