A Rich Historical
It is a pleasure to read the work of an author who weaves in enough detail to provide a rich historical backdrop for an appealing story. Her characters are lively and real, and the setting is refreshingly unusual.

Deborah Hale at her finest.
We have come to expect the best from Deborah and she never disappoints. Not the usual hero, it doesn't take us long to see why Jenny can't help but fall in love with Harris. When Harris finally takes her down from the pedestal he placed her on, he finds life will not be complete without her.

Ms. Hales characters come alive on the page. Her description is weaved in so beautifully that we find outselves wanting to go where they've been to see for ourselves. Another book for your keeper shelf and a definite 5+.

All new setting for a time honored fairy tale
A beautiful book with all the elements we love best in romance, plus a gorgeous setting I've never seen! Ms. Hale's eloquence and deligthfully crafted sentences make this book a pleasure to read.

Brava!
The authors were courageous enough to explore and depict the horrors of domestic violence, and conveyed it creatively through powerful characters and circumstances, making for both informative and interesting reading. Well done, ladies!

Fast-paced suspense thriller!
"Dark Justice" is a fast-paced suspense thriller that deals with contemporary issues sensitively, but simultaneously with a head-on attitude that will strike a chord of moral rightness in every reader's psyche. With vividly drawn characters it pulls you into the well-plotted world of Detective Alix Mendez. The tragic yet ultimately satisfying denouement proves this novel is one that is "can't-put-it-down" good. Don't miss it!

This one will keep you up nights
I thoughly enjoyed this book. Meagan and Alex came to life. This is a beautifully crafted book with lots of twists and turns. I couldn't put it down.

Lovely!
Deborah Samuel has used her camera to capture the beauty and unique attitudes of various purebred dogs. Her black and white photography is sweetly insightful. These dogs aren't dressed up funny--these dogs are just themselves. Her photographs capture the soulful, humorous, sweet personalities of our four legged friends. Right from the first time I laid eyes on this book I was bedazzled with it.

See the grace of a Greyhound, the playful mentality of a Jack Russell, the sleek elegance of a Doberman, and more, as well as Deborah Samuel's own studio notes. I can't wait to get her next book, "Pup." Don't miss this one--if you love dogs, you'll be enchanted with this.

dog
what a pleasant gift i recieved when i recieved dog .dog is such a thoughtful examination of man's "best friend".dog is filled with intimate and lushous photos.i loved the studio notes,i felt i really spent time with the dogs.ms. samuel is clearly barking up the right tree.very talented and creative.loved it.spread the word.

If you, or anyone you know loves dogs, this is THE book!
I have followed Deborah Samuel's career for some years, being a photographer myself. I am very familiar with her fashion, editorial and fine art work. She has a style very distinct unto herself.

"Dog" is a leap forward, into a whole new realm of photography, not only for Samuel, but any photographer! Not dogs dressed up in costumes. No. Dogs being themselves, as if they were alone and no one was watching.

It is amazing how she has managed to capture the personality of each breed!

If you , or anyone you know loves dogs, this book is a must!

A touching journey toward understanding
Author Deborah Morris Coryell, who has worked in the health field for more than 25 years and has written numerous books on wellness, now takes pen to paper in order to shed light on the process of healing from grief and loss. She observes that "We only grieve for that which we have loved and, the nature of life being transitory, love and loss are intimately connected," among many other hidden truths about the essence of grief. Eloquent and poignant, Good Grief: Healing Through The Shadow Of Loss is a touching journey toward understanding the regret that makes us human.

THE BEST GRIEF BOOK YET!
Having lost my only child four years ago, I have read many books on grief. This one is by far the best! I found myself highlighting most of the pages and have just bought a second copy!

My advise: Buy This One!

Quenches the Sorrowful Soul
This book was remarkable in that, even just holding it and looking at the simple cover offered me some peace in a time of shear agony. Obviously, a lot of love went into it. The words are simple and beautiful AND offer great depth. So much soulful contemplation and growth can be derived from reading this book while grieving. The entire energy of the book is in concert with the healing process. I've recommended this book to many friends who have lost someone close to them and will many times again, God willing.

I'm recommending Letting Your Heart Sing, a daily journal for the soul, by Deborah Tyler Blais .This is an awesome self help manual for all who are in need of spiritual renewal! Everyone should check it out, especially with what is happening in our World today! Maybe, using her daily action plan, we could even get the mideast region to stop fighting! Amen!
I believe it could help anyone, not just Cancer survivors! As a cancer survivor myself, I'm recommending it to all AA, and NA, OA members, or anyone who feels that they are not in touch with thier inner spirit! I've read it through once already and am preparing to go back to the beginning to do the daily action plan at the end of each segment! This should be required reading, and is a first class book to be listed by Oprahs' Book Club editors ! Deborah Tyler Blais is a cancer survivor and also a former drug user! Debbie's honesty and spirituality, coupled with her strong determination to overcome her weaknesses have helped her evolve into a very spiritually recharged person. She now is an accomplished speaker and writer! Deb's clouded past , with alcohol and drug problems consuming her and her husband Gary's lives , now have transformed them, and improved their relationship! This awesome self- help manual is a must read! It should be required reading for high school and college age students as well as adults! Anyone who feels that they don't know where they are headed or have hit a brick wall in their lives will benefit from and be helped using her renewal-of-soul action plan! Extremely Candid & Touching
Deborah and I are fellow writers so I couldn't have been more happy when she told me her book was being published. She writes with great courage honesty and humor. Her tale of Dharma's effect on her recovery from her surgery is very moving. The miraculous way this tiny kitten triggered this whole story and the profound effect it will surely have on many many readers as it spreads far an wide.. is truly inspirational. You'll certainly want to get 2 copies so your can share this with someone you love.

Miracles do happen.
This book has the capacity to change every single aspect of your life if you open yourself up to it and make the decision to reach for the highest inner possibilities that are within each of us. From start to finish, Deborah guided me along a path that she has walked with courage, honesty and faith, holding my hand, prodding me when needed, sharing her life, her innermost strengths, weaknesses, fears and shining triumphs, always with hope and a passion to heal, recover, find the very best that I could be and telling me how to find that "real self" hiding within. The author has been there, done that, and gently relates how her path can be your path. I too am "in recovery", a cancer survivor and have a passion for life which has been aroused and redirected by this book. This book is a daily reminder that life is not a spectator sport and that we MUST each moment regroup, redirect and focus our energies, sometimes gently, sometimes firmly towards finding our very best innerselves in spite of our weaknesses, our insecurities and our perceived lack of strength. The author truly has shown me that in spite of trauma, disease, fear, anxiety and low levels of trust we, with faith and hope, can have lives full of joy, peace, health, love and can indeed become whole, healed inwardly, and capable of going outside of ourselves once again and confidently rejoining the human race on equal terms with all people. The author has elevated living to a new dimension for herself and husband, and, in doing so has instilled in all readers of this book the ability, direction and means for elevating their lives and living out their own stories with compassion, strength, courage and love. Must reading for all who have any doubts, fears and insecurities about the events and direction of their lives and their future.

Great food, low-fat or otherwise
There aren't a lot of "cooking for two" books out there that have really good recipes. This is an exception. Every one of the breads is fantastic, and only makes enough for 1 meal, so the bread is always fresh. We don't need to watch our weight or salt intake, but I use this book so much because the food just tastes so good!

Cooking Light for Two Results in Easy Weight Loss
There are too few "light cooking" books designed for just two people, and this is one of the best yet with a wide variety of recipes using fresh herbs and minimal oil. We make extensive use of this book weekly and are pleased with an easy, and permanent, weight loss while eating gourmet food. We would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys great food while losing weight.

Easy, Quick and Very Tasty
I just started cooking religiously when I got married, and I never realized how many recipes from very expensive cookbooks could be so undesirable. But.... Not this time! This book is fantastic! The recipes are easy to prepare, with ingredients that are easy to find, and although the food is low-fat, it is delicious. Now, I'm on ........ to find more cookbooks by the same author(s). Buy "Light Cooking"; it will not disappoint.

An Outstanding Cook Book
I found some of the techniques employed in the recipes of this low-fat kosher cook book to be particularly helpful and time-saving. It is very informative with respect to Jewish dietary laws and the tempting-looking color photographs are an additional bonus. The results obtained were excellent so I have to say that it's my kind of cook book.

A Review of Secrets of Fat -Free Kosher Cooking
In "The Secrets of Fat-Free Kosher Cooking", Deborah Bernstein, M.D. provides us with a large variety of mouth watering, lowfat recipes which essentially are quite simple to assemble. In addition, the author clearly explains all recipes while giving the reader background information and amusing stories, relating to the importance of the recipe, and which also bring balance to the wonderful illustrations. Among other timely tidbits, the reader will also learn about the laws of Kashrus. To sum up, this recipe book is an attractive, compilation of facts, and pictures, that will find a wide and appreciative audience. A very laudable effort.

The best in kosher, healthy cooking!

And all this within our kosher paramenters. Even more important, every recipe we tried we loved! I reccomend it highly to everyone! And oh yes my Bubie (jewish grandmother) loved it too!

Battling the MSG Myth

Battling the MSG Myth
As the mother of a child that displays symptoms of ADD when he is exposed to foods containing MSG, I can tell you that this book is a life-saver. Along with fabulous recipes, there's a bounty of information on MSG, sulfites, Aspartame and other food additives. I use this book daily.

Battling the MSG Myth
I was so so sick and didn't know why. This book saved my life. I now understand how excitotoxins have poisoned my body. After 1 1/2 years I feel better than I have for 20 years. I am well and I avoid msg and msg hidden by other names, thanks to Debby Anglesey. This is a marvelous hands-on book that talks about msg, sulfites, and helps with common sense recipes that work.

The definitive coping guide for MSG sensitivity
Deb Anglesey has written the best coping guide for dealing with the dramatic diet changes one must make if they are sensitive to MSG. I was a food industry scientist, and I feel that this book is extremely important. Monosodium glutamate is hidden in so many foods, and since many people react to it with asthma, and other serious medical conditions, it is crucial to find where it is hidden. Deb Anglesey helps you not only find where it is and eliminate it, she has great ideas on what you CAN eat.

Meier Does it Again
Deborah Meier does it agian with her new book on the importance of buidling trudting realitonships among all the parties in schools. A must read for those interested in truly democratic public education. She discusses the iomperative for studenss, especially teenagers, of having important adults who care about them and know them well in theri lives, and how a school can be organziaed around that pricnipal.

A major theme of the book is how trust built on relatinships is a much better and stronger form of accountability than the standardization that is currently in vogue -- which actually buiilds distrust. Techer-Student, teacher parent, teacher-teacher are among those discussed.

She then spends some time illustrating the weaknesses and dangers of relying on standardized tests. Lastly she lays out her broader vision of what could be.

The personal challenge
Deborah Meier issues a personal challenge to the reader to deepen our work and our commitment to the role public schools play in our democratic society. Her voice is clear and powerful.

Common sense, common sense, common sense
As an educator (high school guidance counselor), union activist and progressive skeptic, I strongly urge folks far and wide to read Meier's book "In Schools We Trust." Not only is she easy to read but she makes sense out of difficult material.

Meier uses examples from her own experiences and links them to the weighty issues we face in public education. She uses humor as well as lofty research to back up her claims. In an early passage she challenges us to bring adults and children closer together ( a theme she returns to at the end), so that children can learn what it means to be an adult. In doing so she has us ponder our own adult culture. For instance, why don't we let children copy? since that's exactly what we urge adults to do (i.e. through best practices) and what would that mean if we did allow it?

All in all a good read, a refreshing look at schooling.
