TERRIFIC BOOK!
This book is filled with spiritual stories and insights that will lift the soul into a peaceful place. God's love is magnified through Mr. Mehl's writings, and again he persuades us to trust and fall on God's mercy even when facing a dead end. Excellent book!

A real faith builder and a great read
I picked up this little volume at a rummage sale because the cover caught my eye. However, when I started reading the book, I found the content so compelling and so inspiring, I had to lay the book down for a moment [again and again] and simply think through what I'd just read. It is quite intense. Mehl shares an insight into the Bible that is truly remarkable. He speaks right to the core of the issue and explains things in simple, clear and concise language.

His style reminds me of William Barclay, one of the most beloved Bible commentators of the century. As was said of Barclay (and is true of Mehl, as well) "He saved the Bible from the experts."

I discovered this book at a time when I was struggling
How truly amazing and faithful God is. I know these truths in my heart, but when things happen in my life to prove it, I can't help but be overcome with awe at Him. I discovered this book at a time when I was struggling with direction in my life. I had none. Pretty big struggle, don't you think? I was done with college--I finished student teaching in December of '98, I was done with my temporary job for the Spring in a school district, and it was now the summer and I didn't know what I wanted to do next. I did not have any leads, or any desire for that matter to pursue anything. I felt a true loss of direction for the first time in my life. I couldn't tell where God wanted me to go next, and was desperately looking for answers, but to no avail--a true "dead end". I was in a Christian bookstore one day, just browsing and looking to see if they had any Ron Mehl books (my favorite author) available. There on the shelf were only two of Ron's books, The Ten(der) Commandments (which I already had), and a book called "Meeting God at a Dead End". I was stunned. Literally. I just stood there in the middle of the aisle, with this book in my hand. This book, that, before I had even opened it, had me feeling like I was Charlie from Willie Wonka holding the Golden ticket. I couldn't believe that there was a book by my favorite author, with a title that summed up my life at that point, in my hands! OK, so I am a dramatic person, but it was a pretty great moment. What was even greater was when I actually went home and read my Golden ticket. I didn't realize how badly I needed this book in my life. I felt as if Ron knew exactly what was happening to me, and exactly what words and Scripture to use to give me hope, encouragement, trust and faith in God. This book gives hope for every kind of "dead end"--where you feel like you don't know where to turn or who to turn to. Ron shows in his usual excellent way that the Lord is who you want to turn to. The Lord is who's watching over you and is there at that dead end, ready to take on whatever is troubling you in your life--you just have to let Him.

What Mokole Is
Mokole is a book for an addition to werewolf the apocalypse. You must have the "werewolf: the apocalypse" book in order to use this one to it's fullest ability. Mokole is a book about and how to play a were-alligator, were-crocodile, were-moniter lizards, were-gila monsters, were-caiman, and most importantly... they are all were-dragons! The mokole gives you mnesis, an ability to remember back to the time of the dinosaur kings. If you want to look like a big lizard, godzilla, dinosaur, sea serpent, fire breathing dragon, or oriental dragon.. then this is a book for you. The werewolves are the warriors of gaia, the mokole are her memory.

Makole by James Ray Comer, et al
Out of all the kin books for the Wherewolf The Apocalypse game i like this one the most. It gave the much needed variety in the game and allowed for a great game. Allowing characters with these new and interesting powers is great fun, and by adding new sources and titles to your WW library you can laugh and have more fun with your friends that you play with.
I suggest this book to everyone and hope you take my word on it.
great great fun.

I love it!
This is a great book. It helps to portray the true peril that the changing breeds are in and it also shows what those who truly desire to restore the balance, not just destroy the wyrm (dissolver) are capable of. This book has enthralled me since I bought it and now I really want to get an all Mokole game off the ground (too bad that my compadres insist on involving Bastet, Changeling, and Vamps :P). If you're considering buying it to this point, DO!

Hilarious Take on a Double Murderer
OK, if the humor of the title of this review evades you, this is not the "book" for you. If you think the whole situation is funny, then get this book.

Page after page of doodles and notes that blow political correctness out of the water, and made me laugh out loud. This product is fall down funny.

Again, a classic that is out of print. Shame, shame, shame.

Out of Print?!? Say it isn't so!
Here it is, four years after I first spent a summer reading and re-reading it with my friends (one of whom must still have it!). I've got to read it again. Maybe e-bay?

a must read!
without a doubt, the funniest collection of drawings and text on the o.j. situation. a comical view into the demented mind of a lunatic!

Plate Tectonics
This is, without doubt, the best review of plate tectonics yet published. I'm surprised that more has not been popularly written about this subject than has been.

A Unique Approach to Earth Systems Understanding
I have had the priveledge of close association with the author, Ron Redfern, throughout the writing, organization and photographic activities that support this publication. In a career of geology-based endeavors, I have never enjoyed a more unique, thorough and emminently readable portrayal of the interlocking sciences that result in the Earth's evolutionary history. This is a complex subject. However, the author has made the 700 million year trip a pleasure. The beautiful, panoramic photography, the interweaving of summary-level essays, and meticulously time-based text, lavishly supported by color illustrations, gives the reader a multi-disciplinary view of not only our planet's geologic evolution, but also its close association with meteorological events and the evolution of life. The reader will want to read and re-read this book. A wonderful adventure, every time, with new perspectives of "how things work" discovered on each page.

A paleo-archologist's point of view
One of many subjects treated here is the initial colonization of the New World, which has been the subject of often vitriolic scholarly debate for the past two decades. In this book Ron Redfern has managed to distill the essence of that debate in a highly readable fashion and shows how new data has dramatically altered our previous reconstructions of the timing and modes of arrival and dispersal of the first Americans. As always, the environment remains the dynamic stage upon which the prehistoric actors of antiquity operated-a theme which permeates the entire volume.

Creativity Exemplified: This book is an EXPERIENCE
For 17 years I taught a course in creativity at American River College in Sacramento and gathered everything I could find that would help students open to new ideas about themselves and the world around them. There is no book that even comes close to achieving what Para Science Pak offers.
The pages literally rise up to meet you becoming
3-D sculptures which tease you into delving more deeply into the mysteries in our midst. It is artistic, playful, informative, stimulating and a valuable contribution which
you have to experience to believe. I was reluctant to spend
$. for something that was wrapped up and sealed, but
I understand why now and it is worth every penny and cheaper to purchase on line than in the store. I agreed to share it with a high school psychology class because it's an excellent introduction an overview of skills many have not developed or had explained to them. The unique approach and appeal is remarkable. It brings the written word to life and invites the reader to translate the left brain information into a right brain experience. I was concerned about parts of the book being fragile. I treat my copy like a work of art and want it to be seen and shared, so I constructed a special carrying case to protect it. It commands a certain respect as you explore the brilliant and creative way it is constructed. Actually I don't know how they can sell it for $. It is above and beyond anything I have seen in this area.

The ParaScience Pack is an eye-opening book
From the moment I picked up the ParaScience Pack, I could tell this was no ordinary coffee table book. Uri Geller has done a wonderful job at explaining the world of the unexplained and the paranormal. The pop-up paper sculptures throughout the book are amazing. And the experiments in the back have kept me busy for several evenings.

A Journey into 3D and Back
Wow:)When I opened this book a brain poped out with a great introduction by Uri Geller. Did you know that gravity is an unexplained scientific phenomenon? Read this book and find out Why. When looking at many of the diagrams you wear glasses that animates the diagrams. Wow! When I turned to the next page a beautiful woman Pops Up. Uri then explains the importance of positive thinking and healing. Take a little journey into the unknown with this amazing Parascience Pop Up book and Kit.

Looking Out Looking In
This is a very nice introductionary book that justly exhaust various topics. Pros: Easy to read, and unoffensive to the readers' intelligence. Many examples, diagrams, summaries, and concatenations between the chapters are well done. Great examples. This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

This is a wonderful resource!
I just finished my Communications class and used this book to give a presentation and write a paper on communication and how to do it right. I felt the book was very educational. It certainly taught me quite a bit, despite the fact that I couldn't really read it (I used it for research). It was on loan from my teacher, but I plan to buy this book for myself. Heck, I'll probably have my husband read it too!

A superior friend
When I started using this book in 1978, I could never have dreamed the impact it would have on my students. Now, as director of my own private school in another country it has become even more powerful as a tool to help teach English as well as communication skills in the native language. Through the excersises and discussions, students learn to communicate bi-lingually more effectively...much more effectively. In its 9th edition, it has become a standard, a classic and, for me and my students, a necessity.

Just what I need
In order to pursuit my interest in economics and finance, I search some Statistics texts for help. With the training in science and no background in statistics, I found this book comprehensive. It is rigorous but accessible, well organised with appropriate coverage. The examples are relevant and helpful. Moreover, the author always keeps students in mind. The only downsides are no answers to problems and no bibliography. As a whole, it is a great book.

outstanding textbook
One of the most beautifully written books in mathematical statistics with the right mix of rigor and simplicity. A must read book before jumping into econometrics.

Concise, thorough and practical...
I have used this book since it came out in 1990 and continue to find it handy in the field. It covers everything you need to know for survival in the North American woods. Everyone who goes backpacking with me wants one! The photos of the edibles/poisonous plants are most excellent, as are the write-ups & historical uses. It easily fits in a cargo style pocket or in your pack. You'll find first aid and basic survival skills discussed in detail...no fluff.

Perhaps the best pocket size practical survival guide
This combines simple, easy to use instructions on basic survival actions that any hiker or camper can use with a great color-photo index and directions to edible and poisonous plants, and a first aid guide. If you only want to carry one little book, this is a great one to choose!

A great, portable plant identification guide.get it.
This Book has more edible and poisonous plant identification info than any other pocket guide i've ever seen.Where bigger tomes many times ue line drawings which are less than useless for identifying plants,Nature Bound has actual photos! Also brief preparation information and survival instructions that are sure to help someone that finds themselves lost in the wilderness. The fire starting in particular is codensed, but much better than I would have expected in a nature guide. The size is very handy;it will fit in the smallest buttpack, or even pocket. You will actually have it when you need it!I bought mine in 1987,and it's still the best i've found.

Pelican Games is a good, fast paced read.
Pelican Games starts fast and keeps going. I was drawn into the plot immediately, then kept involved by the superb character development. In fact, the character development was good enough to make me actually despise one of the characters. I don't often get such a reaction to a novel character.

The author was once a reporter and his eye for detail helps round out story line with very rich images.

Several of the plot threads are ultimately resolved in ways that I didn't see coming. That was a nice change from the formula endings that seem to permeate novels.

As a bonus, the chapters are short, making this a great bedside reader.

A PERFECT READ
This is a really rare novel, a book one can read, see, smell and feel all the way through.

The stage on which the drama plays out is Louisiana and the writer portrays Louisiana as the terrible beauty that it is. The themes of the work are woven like threads through the tapestry of the political landscape in Louisiana.

The story is universal and has as much relevance to California, Chicago, and New York as it does to New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Most importantly, this book delivers what most novels only promise. The pages turn themselves; you cannot put the book down till the end.

One of the most difficult things in storytelling is accomplished effortlessly by the author - - people whose lives are lived in stereotypical roles (Candidates for Governor, Political Staffers, Corporate Officer, Media and even Mafia) are not presented as stereotypes at all, but rather as real people. And all of the major players have entourages and those entourages are drawn so that the distinct characters within the groups emerge as clearly as the principal players in the drama.

The plot is not something this reviewer wants to hint at, except to say that if one is only going to read one fast paced, complex, colorful novel this spring, this is the book to buy.

This seemingly Louisiana story by a Louisiana writer is anything but a regional story. It's a big story that could play out anywhere. In setting the story in Louisiana, the writer did the reader a favor because he knows Louisiana as well as anyone who has set a story here.

This should become a film. When one finishes reading the book, all one can hope for is the chance to see it on the big screen.

The Louisiana of our dreams
The novel was thoroughly enjoyable and a real page-turner. There is no way of figuring out where the plot is headed.

Of course, it is only fiction, but it was fun trying to put real Louisiana faces on the characters.

Ron Gomez really does a great job with all the details and suspense. As one of our rare honest and ethical elected officials, Ron understand and has seen the dark underbelly of LA politics.

Unfortunately, the book was not only fiction, but more like a fairy tale of LA politics. Here's wishing that one day it may all come true.

Ron has always been a great story teller, so it was no great surprise that he has become a talented writer.

Poems from the Heart
I have read the book from cover to cover. This is an eclectic collection from a group of Florida Poets. There are poems that rhyme and make good use of meter, and there are poems that have no set structure and no rhyme. There are poems about love and loss, and poems that are declarative and proud (see Gisele's chapter "Proud and Passionate"). I would recommend this collection to any lover of poetry. Take it on an airplane for casual reading, or simply to pass time on a rainy day. It is easy reading.

Real world thoughts and feelings come alive
I thoroughly loved this book of poetry. Knowing it was written by 'real' people, every page spoke to me as though the thoughts and feelings on that page could've been my own. I remembered childhood moments, my first love, the loss of a dear friend, the excitement of new love, my internet friends - all within the covers of this enjoyable, well written joyful collection of poetry.

Life's Mirror
Between the covers of this book and in the words on each page, I have found a reflection of my own life. Through the words I have revisited the beauty of this world, experienced loneliness, remembered the euphoria of youthful love, and felt the pain of loss no parent should ever experience. I was drawn back willingly and sometimes unwillingly to these moments. When words like these are able to transport you from this world to a different time and place, they are definitely worth sharing. If you are not afraid of revisiting your own life experiences, then I highly recommend this "book of memories."
