It is a story of undying friendship, terror, laughter and the sadness of loss. But most of all it is a story about the heart of a man and his sense of duty to friends and family. It is a journey none should wish to take, but it raises the spirit to follow Ron and his battle to overcome his personal war.
It is the essence of "Semper Fidelis" (always faithful). It is the story of one VMO-3 Marine Crew Chief, a title not given nor easily earned, and the men with whom he served.
Outstanding, well written and a clarity next to none.

If I ever decide to teach a marketing class I'm going to use this book as the text.
The content is good; in some places it's excellent.
Two excellent worksheets focus on charting who your customers are & where your sources of business come from.
One of the best worksheets is "Worksheet for Potential Customers." It takes up an entire page and is the best way I've seen to target each group of your potential customers and decide how you will market to each of them.
Another idea made easy is putting together a 'sound bite.' Some people call it your 30-second commercial. King's step-by-step instructions make it a very easy exercise to do.
King also mentions "The Brand Called YOU" a concept that promotes making * yourself * the brand. You = your business in the sense that customers aren't buying your product or service, so much as they're buying you. This also works when you're selling yourself as an employee.
FAST COMPANY magazine spent a good part of an issue in Aug/Sept 1997 on this and I'm surprised that King's book is the only marketing book where I've ever seen it mentioned. The idea was (is?) so radical Fast Company gave it a separate web site.
It's a highly interactive marketing workbook. It encouraged me to use my common sense and what I know about my business to develop simple, effective marketing plans that really seem to work! I was VERY surprised!!!
I also like the way it's written. It's very easy to read, has lots of graphics, and probably 100 or more mini-marketing plans, many of which I was able to put to use right away!
I figure if he's been successful at 6 buinesses, I'll try what he says!
Great book!

Especially so as this book focuses on the actual experience of the Holy Spirit as opposed to some abstract theorizing that the Holy Spirit is 'just' a metaphor etc. This book is a good antidote for the devotees of the it's-all-just-a-metaphor theory!
Now having read most of it, I find it to be a valuable 'hands-on' (hehe) guide to prayer and study excercises designed to orient one to receiving this power in their life.
It is not an exhaustive history or 'exegesis' (thank God!), but a very personal account of what one long-time minister, Ron Roth, has found to actually work in conveying the Holy Spirit to others.
I also appreciated Mr. Roth's descriptions of how common it is nowadays to feign or fake the experience of the Holy Spirit in contemporary American Christianity. This explained a lot to me about the excesses of contemporary televangelism etc.
There are also many references in the book to other faiths and traditions, such as Rumi etc, which may turn off those of a fundamentalist bent, or those opposed to any tinge of 'New Age' ecumenicalism, but this may also encourage others, such as the fans of Matthew Fox or Thomas Merton.
Though there is some discussion of the cross-faith experience of the Holy Spirit, as in Rumi, I dont recall him mentioning the kundalini experience per se, which many consider to be a different name for the same thing.
One other very minor detraction of the book for me, was the emphasis on a 'positive thinking / prosperity' message. Those of us who suffer from depression (and who, God knows, could use the Holy Spirit's healing) may find themselves being 'put down' (though no doubt unintentionally) for their depression before they can find the healing they seek from the Holy Spirit.
I have read in the African-American Gospel music tradition that depression can be a sign of seeking, such as in the descriptions of the 'Mourner's Bench' and being 'Heavy of heart' and feeling 'oppressed' (see the classic book 'God Struck Me Dead' by Johnson).
So a more sympathetic treatment of the sufferers of depression (or 'loser's limp' as Mr. Roth calls it) might help Mr. Roth's message, in my very humble opinion.
After all, the Gospel music experience of 'Getting Happy' doesnt always come without a little time spent on the 'Mourner's Bench'!
This tape helped me feel a sense of closeness to the Holy Spirit like never before. I loved it that Ron is very to-the-point. He doesn't congest his message with superfluous material or stories that go on and on and on and on for 20 minutes and carrying only one point. Rather, every minute is chokeful of information for you to think about and ruminate over. Repeated listenings will cull new information.
It is also very inspiring when you need a pick-me-up on those days when you forget about the power within you and its limitless potential to help you in your difficulties.
hope this helps.
