That fighting Irishman, Finn Mac Cool
I read this book a while ago and it's still alive in my mind. Rosemary Sutcliff writes with depth and accuracy of history and myth, that I'm sure if you could read all her books, you'd know just about everything. Finn Mac Cool is written in a beautiful style that puts you in the character's place. The flow and incredible scenery of the book makes it a good read for girls, and the intense attraction and gore is active enough for boys to read over and over. A wonderful read for any boy or girl, no mater their age.

Beautiful Illustrations
The illustrations in this book are beautiful. The story is good with animals that do not frighten most children. My 3 year old daughter wants us to read it again and again. She really likes the detailed illustrations. The illustrations in this book are among the best I've seen. Can't believe it didn't win an award.

Should be back in print
The Hound of Ulster is a gripping retelling of the Ulster Cycle - the Irish myths about the semi-divine warrior hero Cuchulain and the Cattle Raid of Cooley. The stories apparently date from the bronze age oral tradition, but were finally written down in the 8th century. Sutcliff writes well and vividly. The stories are a mixture of savagery and lyricism, wild fantasy and psychological realism. Cuchulain in his battle frenzy literally metamorphoses into a monster, yet when he mourns the dead he is completely human. The original Ulster Cycle, also known as The Tain, is available in an English translation by Thomas Kinsella, with stunning illustrations by Louis Le Brocquy, from Oxford University Press. But the text is extremely hard to follow: the Hound of Ulster is much more readable for newcomers to the story. And anyone who likes this novel should read the haunting WB Yeats poem, Cuchulain Comforted, about the hero's death. It's full of ambivalence about heroes and men of violence: how do we admire their courage while deploring their deeds?

This book gets five stars from my five-year-old!
A mother wants to go to the beach, and like any good planner, wants to bring a few things: a turtle, an umbrella, a book, a ball, and of course, her baby. But every time she tries to get there, the mode of transportation makes it so she has to leave something behind...which she is not willing to do. What is missing in each picture? Little ones will enjoy guessing, and they will also enjoy finding the teeny ladybug in each picture. I liked the Mama's aplomb as she searches for the perfect solution to her problems (look at the picture where she wears the turtle like a bicycle helmet!). My little guy wants this book read over and over, and with this charming interactive adventure, it's my pleasure!

This is a gutwrenching book about creativity, addiction, insanity and gender in the Deep South. A truly readable book challenging assumptions about conventional morality and what it means to be an artist, a woman and a mother wherever you are.

People who are are very flexible, that is hypermobile for the most part are very lucy. They are usually very graceful and good at sports but for a small percentage of them flexibility is not so kind. They have on going joint and muscle pains and uncomfortable fealings of stiffness. As they are more flexible than average their movements appear to be in the normal range, but for them this reduced mobility Faced with a person who to all intent and purposes move well, it is hard for the medical profession to take their complaints as seriously as they should. This condition affects women, start in adolescence as growing pains and continues through out their lives.
This book is the first to describe how to help these patients. Very often physical therapy is too vigorous for them, their symptoms become worse, they complain more and and in an attempt to convey their problem can appear very neurotic. They are not; they are just in pain.

A Straightforward Simple Alternative to Dieting That Works
An excellent book which provides a simple and straight-forward, yet sympathetic guide to healthy eating and weight management
without dieting. Dr. Kausman's many years of experience in this area are evident in his writing. He offers the reader evidence for
why diets don't work, but then ensures that the reader is provided with useful & sensible strategies to replace dieting. Dr.
Kausman's discussions of non-hungry eating, intuitive eating & eating with awareness make lots of sense & he provides the
reader with lots of activities and worksheets to help apply his ideas. If not dieting, then what? is a great read, it makes great sense
& the strategies really do work. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with dieting or their weight, or simply
needs some renewed motivation. You'll love the shared stories too!
