Storyline ....
Since Amazon hasn't posted an editorial review for this book, here's the description from the back of the book to help you decide if this book is for you: "He's never met a woman he couldn't charm -- until now! Jason Van der Bollen is -- to put it bluntly -- a womanizer. Dashing and delightful ... still a womanizer. Lately he's been thinking there's something missing in his life. Maybe that's why he moves back home to west Texas. After all, his brother's family is there ... and the idea of a family has suddenly become very appealing to the confirmed bachelor ... when Jason meets Laura Ghant, mating for life doesn't seem like such a bad idea. At least, not to Jason. Laura, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with him. Poetic justice?"

From shameless to daring, smart to dowdy, hideous to amusing
Ms. Brannon is a professor, and this is a textbook. A supurb textbook that unravels, analizes, graphs, charts, and narrates the dynamics of consumer choice in light, effortless prose. It is an epic study that brings aboard the great cast of characters who have devoted their lives to staying a jump ahead of us. (The bibliography is 16 pages long!) Whom do they watch? How does a forecaster know when an innovation has good "legs"? Is it in tune with the times, or a counter current? All this and more is told as Ms. Brannon peels the onion that is fashion.
Did you ever wonder how Tommy Hilfiger connected with his market? The story is here.
For me, this was a great read, like say, "The New Yorker." And I am not even in the biz.

A particularly well written autobiography
Finding My Way: The Autobiography Of An Optimist is the self-told life story of Evelyn Stefansson Nef, a young woman born in Brooklyn 1913, who became a master craftswoman in the specialized art of creating marionettes; a skilled editor, researcher and writer; and who in her late fifties studied psychotherapy and became qualified to administer to patients. A particularly well written autobiography, Finding My Way presents a most remarkable and varied life, vividly and memorably narrated.

I FOUND THIS BOOK TO BE VERY ENJOYABLE. IT TOUCHED MANY EMOTIONS WITHIN ME. I LAUGHED, I CRIED, I BECAME ANGRY, AND I BECAME ELATED. I WAS ESPECIALLY HAPPY WHEN HEZEKIAH WAS ABLE TO OUT WITT HIS MASTER. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANY YOUNG CHILD FOR THERE ARE MANY LESSONS TO BE GLEENED FROM THIS STORY. MS. COLEMAN HAS DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB IN SHARING AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY WITH CHILDREN OF ALL RACES. MY HAT IS OFF TO MS. COLEMAN. MAY SHE CONTINUE TO SHARE HER TALENT WITH US ALL.

grandma from manhattan
I found myself smiling at several points while reading your book. You have a gift of storytelling and humor that shone through the entire book. I really enjoyed the easy way that you told the tales of Grandma. I thought the stories were very well drawn and the characters of Grandma and Tata. You were able to paint a portrait of her personality with incidents and a variety of the stories. The same held true with the setting of NYC and the time period. The book read easily and you have a definite gift for storytelling. I've always found that the best examples of humor come from the characters. The humor that you show in the book stems from the characters, especially that of Grandma.
