Love and Nature
Through his discerning eyes Roger's penetrating photographs reveal the richness of nature along the Carmel, Big Sur and Monterey Coasts and opens our eyes to our own backyards. A photographer who shows the soul of rocks, trees, leaves, caves, ocean, sand and sky. Bill's words call the soul of the world, drawing us into a fullness of life's emotions, triggering our own losses and hope and wonder...then reminds us of the gift of each moment through sound, sight and feelings. A poet with the courage to bare his soul and in so doing awakens our. These photographs and poetry bring the universe to our doorsteps. A treasure book.

Touching Your Spirit
There is beauty all around us though we so often neglect to observe it. When we do, we find our spirits filled with joy. Roger Moore's magnificent photographs and William Sechrest's moving poetry touch the best in us and therefore fill our spirits with joy. I highly recommend this beautiful book to all those who wish to take a moment for themselves. By purchasing this book you gift yourself or those you choose to share it with, with achingly beautiful images and often thought provoking words.

Stirred with Emotion
Roger Moore's photographic style is exquisitely unique, truly a fine-art master, and his choice of subject matter can't be beat. These elements combined along with Sechrest's magical and moving poetry take the reader on a virtual fantasy vacation to one of the world's most beautiful and unforgettable areas. The fusing of the artistry of both the photographer and poet gift the viewer/reader with the stirring of all of the senses and emotions. One feels as if they've stepped into the photograph, smelled the ocean, looked up at the trees, felt the feelings, loved as Moore and Sechrest have loved.

Silly Rhyming fun that helps kids learn the alphabet
Nonsense! He Yelled is a wonderful book on several levels. The one thing it is not, though, is a story; although there are a couple of minor threads woven through it. But that's just fine. A story is not needed.

What you get instead are short, fun rhymes that provide a stealth mnemonic device to help children learn the alphabet. It's a rather painless lesson for kids, and very entertaining. The rhymes hint Seussian but stay within the English language (no floogle floops here). Each character (one per letter for a total of 26) is unique and has a little something to say.

This arrangement gives parents the opportunity to act out each character in a different way. There's nothing kids like better than to see their parents act goofy, and this book offers that chance. After several readings the kids start to play along.

Given the rhyming text, the artwork could have gone the Dr. Seuss route, but didn't. Instead, the artist embodied the figures with modern animated sensibilities, providing images that could easily be part of a Cartoon Network original series like Johnny Bravo or Ed, Edd 'n Eddy. Not that the artwork is particularly reminiscent of either style, but it carries the same sharp attitude and sense of fun that the animated shows have. It's very modern and appeals to kids who, through exposure, understand that style.

The bottom is this book is just plain good silly fun. It's something kids will enjoy and parents will enjoy reading.

Run hard you thick-headed monster!
I liked this book, I liked it alot, and that's not just because my name is Scott. The characters are so real, cool and clever, I had to share this book with my friend Trevor. You see Trevor is my hip friend who's in the know, of course he has to be to hang with me and our pal, Joe. If you must know the truth, my real name is Andrew, but it's hard to work in a rhyme that's as hoppy as a tan brew. My three little girls have enjoyed this book, so much so that Daddy's no more a schnook.

What a children's book should be - entertaining, fun to read aloud, great rhythm, clever, and awesome illustrations. I look forward to the next collaboration of Roger Eschbacher and Adrian Johnson.

The perfect fun-time bedtime book
Mr. Eschbacher and Mr. Johnson have teamed up to deliver a wildly creative and imaginative children's book that truly lives up to its title, Nonsense! He Yelled. Chock full of silly, nonsensical rhymes and hilarious illustrations, Nonsense! He Yelled introduces 26 quite unique boys and girls whose names just happen to begin with each consecutive letter of the alphabet. While their names follow a logical pattern, their descriptions of the themselves or their circumstances are anything but. For example, representing the letter "K" is Kyle, who finds himself keeping cautious company with a crocodile who has come all the way from the Nile to visit. "He claims he did so just to meet me, but I suspect he'd rather eat me," Kyle nervously reports.
The author and illustrator recall the literary style of Dr. Seuss and the visual style of Bugs Bunny creator Chuck Jones. The combination is a winning one and I found my children laughing as much at Mr. Johnson's illustrations as they did listening to Mr. Eschbacher's silly verse. With any children's book, the reactions of the children who read or hear it is the ultimate proof of whether a title has hit its mark. In the case of Nonsense! He Yelled, the reaction of my kids indicate it's an out-of-the-park home run. You'll have as much fun reading it to your kids as they will listening to it.

A Cambodian Odyssey

Amazon base price: $13.95
Used price: $32.50
Average review score:

One of my all-time favorite books
I originally read a condensed portion of Haing Ngor's 'Cambodian Odyssey' many years ago when it was featured in 'Reader's Digest'. Then later in life, I discovered the name of the book it came from and checked it out from my university library. All I have to say is that this book is one of my all-time favorites, and Haing Ngor is definitely an idol. When I originally read the condensed version, I cried for 2 weeks. I've never been so empathic in my life. The world lost a great man some years ago, and I mourn his loss. To live through hell and back, survive, and then be shot by a bullet from a juvenile gang member?! It is so wrong!

I am half Vietnamese, and my mother taught Cambodian refugee children how to speak English when they arrived in America. She taught them to speak fluently even though English is her second language and she could not speak their language. I was also really young then, and these children were my friends. I had no idea of the horrors they had lived through until I grew older and read this story.

A man of extraordinary courage
This is an outstanding portrait of a man who survived the barbaric reign of terror of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Anyone who has seen the movie "The Killing Fields" has a cursory understanding of the Khmer Rouge and their attempt to transform Cambodian society during their control of the country from 1975 to 1979. However, this film omitted most of the astounding atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge as anyone who has visited Tuol Sleng S-21 in Phnom Penh (as I have) can tell you. In this book Dr. Ngor relates his horrifying experiences of life under the Khmer Rouge in detail and in the process educates the reader as to just how horrible an existence it really was.

This book is remarkable because of the detail related by Dr. Ngor and the personal nature of its content. Many Cambodians to this day will not talk about his period in their lives. For many, the mental and physical abuse they suffered during this period was too painful to re-live ever again. As I read this book, I could not help but wonder how Dr. Ngor was able to keep himself together.

Dr. Ngor effectively puts the period of Khmer Rouge rule in historical context by explaining the historical events and forces which led to their capture of the country. These events and forces included the People's Republic of China, North Vietnam, the Vietnam War, the United States, and of course, the C.I.A.

I admire Dr. Ngor for his extraordinary courage, and I regret that I did not have the opportunity to meet him during his lifetime. May he rest in peace.

Take heed, your problems are not so great.
Haing S.Ngor truly led a charmed life. To have survived such harrowing brutality year after year is a testament to the man's grace. He was roasted over an open fire. He survived many tortures and untold hardships. Dith Pran, the man he portrayed in THE KILLING FIELDS, had a cakewalk by comparison. That film should have had as its center Dr.Ngor's exploits, as his horrific journey was ten times more intense. If you like to read true life stories of those who've really suffered, then this book is an excellent starter. What a tragedy to have survived Cambodia's terror...only to be murdered in Los Angeles!

Essential Spirituality : The 7 Central Practices to Awaken Heart and Mind

May actually be an essential book for spiritual development
Walsh takes the universal wisdoms from our major world religions and miraculously compacts them into one mere 285 page book. Combining the common beliefs and practices of all the major religions allows for anyone with an open mind to discover important practices and philosophies for spiritual development. The exercises are simple and benevolent. He quotes and demonstrates with stories, the teachings of Jesus, Mohammad, Confusius, and Buddha. Possibly the easiest to understand and practice of any of the spiritual or religious books I have read.

Gentle and effective guidance
This small book contains gems from Buddhism, Taoism, Catholicism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Confucianism. Not merely a compilation of sound bites, the author explores core practices revered by these major world religions. Most importantly, he provides concrete examples of how to incorporate these practices, little by little, into everyday life, until a new, throughly unique fabric is created by the reader's personal choices.

The individual chapters address craving, difficult emotions, ethics, calming the mind, vision, wisdom, and serving others. Each section contains a number of exercises that you can try, modify, or adopt completely as best suits your own life and outlook. As time goes on, the practices can serve as springboards to discovering new sources of inner guidance.

The discussion of various intersections of the religions is valuable for several reasons. The background provides specific reasons for engaging in spiritual practice. Rote repetition of formulas does not have the value of mindful attention to our actions, and these explanations help to put the practices in perspective. In addition, the discussion often reflects the gut-level experience of the seeker, and will likely resonate strongly with those on a spiritual journey. Also, the practices do not conflict with observance of any of these religions, and would instead enrich one's spiritual experience, irrespective of its formal context. Finally, the discussion of common ground is a beautiful example of how we can rejoice in our similarities, respect our differences, and share common goals for peace, rather than allow religion to divide us and breed hatred.

As the introduction by His Holiness the Dalai Lama states, a few minutes a day devoted to engaging in the practices and contemplating their significance will go a long way towards bringing compassion, and ultimately a sense of inner peace, into your everyday life.

The Wisdom of Walsh
Go into any bookstore and you'll find piles of books on spirituality, featuring spiritual paths ranging from Evangelical Christianity and pseudo-Vedantist guru worship to Americanized Zen and reconstructionist Neo-Pagan goddess worship. With people turning away from the churches they were raised in and world-weary atheists searching for spirituality, the spiritual marketplace is going through a boom period with no end in sight. But in the midst of such selection, how can one tell who's faking it, and who's the real deal? Is the teacher or author a committed seeker or a devious charlatan? Modern, sceptical Americans often avoid spirituality all together due to horror stories of silly cults and gurus perpetrating spiritual scams on the unsuspecting public. Who can we trust?

How about an Australian philosopher-psychiatrist with years of experience dealing with spirituality, transpersonal psychology, and mental illness? Roger Walsh makes no claims to have attained a spurious level of "enlightenment" beyond a measure of basic sanity in this world gone slightly mad. In "Essential Spirituality", Walsh provides the perfect companion to Huxley's classic "The Perennial Philosophy"- a book of practical spiritual exercises, advice, and wisdom from sages the world over. Divided into seven sections on what Walsh believes to be the seven essential practices of the world's "Wisdom Traditions", Walsh provides advice on reducing craving, cultivating emotional wisdom, living ethically, meditating, awakening the senses, growing intuition, and pursuing spiritual action. This isn't New Age mysticism- "Essential Spirituality" is grounded in the teachings of saints throughout the world and history, extensively documented by Dr. Walsh. Even the most sceptical mind can see the gentle wisdom in his approach to spirituality.

I give this book my highest recommendation to seekers of all faiths and none- may it help you on your way.

Left for Dead... A Digital Manifesto
Published in Paperback by Spizorinctus Publishing (01 September, 2001)
Author: Roger Sause
Amazon base price: $12.99
Used price: $9.95
Average review score:

A classic!
This book should be mandatory reading in political science classes for high school and colleges. Of course, that won't happen because those very institutions are part of the same dehumanizing system that Sause rails against. I'm only half way through this book and I already consider it to be a classic! The book is written from the author's standpoint of having been both a left wing liberal and now a supporter of GOP conservatism. This young man wrote this book with a community college level education. The fact that he could put together such a breathless narrative of the geo-political/socio-economic forces throughout history that have led to the development of socialism and its horrendouse offshoots is validation enough of his contention that the Information Revolution is empowering individuals previously oppressed. It seems Sause's epiphany led to the realization that he had been living a lie and that he needed to self educate himself beyond the confines of the education colossus that is the media and government school system. This really hit home with me as I too had previously believed that the left wing dogma that had been programmed into me was the truth and 'intellectually hip'. After reading this book, you may not look at the world the same way again. If you have ever stopped to ask yourself, why are things they way they are in our society, then this book is for those seeking answers to that question. Its heavy. I mean, heavy like "The Matrix" heavy. The author presents credible concepts and theory's that are much in line with what I have been thinking myself for a number of years. I am glad there are other's out there like me who see the current political/socio-media sphere we live in for what it truly is. Sause will show you how the present day era is shifting from an industrial output model to that of the information age. The enactment of the industrial era served to provide history with governmental systems that valued efficiency but degraded the individual in the process. With the advent of the Information Age, the individual is becoming empowered to compete with the previous gatekeepers of power. Case in point, the explosion of financial data and legal knowledge on the Internet which allows people to circumvent the old system of brokerages and lawyers who have a vested interest in the type of knowledge and amount they share with you. Sause exposes the current home of the leftists, the Democratic Party and their efforts to impose the old order so that they can put the genie back in the bottle....or at least harness the genie to obtain their own political ends. This book should be a must read for every citizen concerned about building a brighter future for America. I personally am recommending it to my friends and family. Other related books in which you may be interested in are Alvin Toffler's Third Wave (which is requently quoted in this book) and Newt Gingrich's To Renew America.

Timely, Important, and so very True!
Roger Sause gives the reader a reality check that many of us on the "vast right wing conspiracy" have known for some time. He exposes the Leftist Socialist B.S. that has invaded the Democratic Party and its unwavering attempts to thwart the progress of the U.S.A. He's someone who has searched over the past few years to get the real scoop about what's taking place in the sociopolitical scene and what it means for the future. The book brings to light the "ghetto" mentality of the Left and the truth behind Big Government and Big Brother. Written in a no-nonsensical way, Sause reveals the best way to bring about our technological progress that will eventually tear down the old industrial socialist policies that are responsible for so much disaster in the modern world. Only by lower taxes, privatization, and deregulation will this take place at a faster pace. Then, once we begin the move into this phase can the government fulfill the role that the framers of the constitution originally intended. The role of less government, individual liberty.....government by the people, for the people. Read this book, think about it, and then read it again. Once you're finished you will not see politics or the future in the same way.

Hold on I'm Comin'
Why is it that men like Roger sause can see unvarnished reality for what it is while others, perhaps more credentialed from an academic point of view, engage in a continued adherence to a belief system that ignores critical analysis? Is this a genetic trait that resides in a particular lobe of the brain? The one where the ability to formulate proportionate judgements resides? With any luck the genetic decoding currently underway in the biogenetic community will shed light on this anomaly, but at the moment we are just left to wonder.

Roger sause has written the most interesting book I've read since Balint Vazsonyi's "America's 30-Year War: Who's Winning". Whereas Vazsonyi comes to his criticisms of the Marxist ideology that permeates so many American institutions today, from the perspective of an immigrant who lived under its Totalitarian boot heel, Sause comes at it with the viewpoint of an Eric Hoffer'ish, street-wise Los Angeles musician. His language and prose are diametrically opposed to that of the poseur academic and many times more communicative. He has done his homework and his take on the big picture is "on the money". In unalloyed terminology he assails the fog of the socialistic ideology that has been foisted on this country's social policy by "progressive charlatan's". Rarely will you read such detailed historical reference written with such an enlightened information age perspicacity. This guy is exceptional as in "really good."

Sause recounts how a high school teacher, an advocate of Marx with an anti-American slant, inculcated his political theories into Sause's personal worldview. This political and social policy assumption model was further reinforced thru Sause's living environment in the Los Angeles arts community, a hot bed of far Left radical thinking. Hollywood is a place where conservative views translate into "no work" so almost everyone in the arts is a reflexive, knee-jerk Leftist. For further confirmation of this read anything written by David Horowitz, a neo-conservative who lives and publishes there.

Sause involves the reader in his personal odyssey as he relates how the street riots in south central L.A., the ostensible result of the Rodney King verdict, caused him to re-examine his pop-Marxist political views of society. To say that only emotional trauma changes behavior would be too trite in his case. The surge of his intellectual curiosity, brought on by the above crisis is Da Vinci-like with a nod too the considerable differences between soft science intellectuals and intellectuals adept at symbolic logic. Needless to say, I found Sause's insights and his ability to tie-in historical reference astounding.

The culmination of this book resides in Sause's negatively critical view of our government's inadequacy as a provider of free education and health care. He profiles its sorry record of outcomes while linking its out of control costs. He predicts that the 3rd wave information revolution will bury the anachronistic 2nd wave industrial model from which America's Marxist inspired social policy is derived. His insights are profound, easily understood and convincing.

This book should be a primer for any course on American history. An academic could quibble with some of the material, but Sause gets it remarkably right. He covers all the Left-leaning shibboleths and all the flawed premise's on which they are based. He brings to light the truth about the religious-Left's influence on the media, race dialogue, health care, education, the environment, feminism, the family, private property, the military, welfare policy and foreign policy. He overlays this in concordance with his views of Alvin Toffler's prognostications as elucidated in his book "The Third Wave". This is all the more remarkable when you consider that Sause is a community college dropout. But, let me tell you, Sause is one very bright guy (remember that Bill gates dropped out of college too!). His credentials are that he is a professional musician who lists a four-year stint as a keyboardist for Kenny G amongst his other considerable credits. It makes one wonder about the value of credentials? Again I ask the question, why is he able to see the world so clearly while so many esteemed academicians cannot?

Buy this book, send copies to your friends, give it to your neighbors; the backlash against socialist totalitarian tyranny is nigh, and Sause is in the forefront. Quite obviously they really ticked him off.

Roger Dawson's Secrets of Power Negotiating

Author: Roger Dawson
Amazon base price: $13.99
Used price: $4.90
Average review score:

One of the best on the subject
"Secrets of Power Negotiating" is one of the most complete books on negotiation that I have ever read. Logically organized, it carries the reader through the entire negotiation process. It covers the most common gambits and how to use them as well as how to defend against them.

The book is divided into seven sections. The first section is on negotiating gambits and principles. Negotiating gambits include the common reluctant buyer/reluctant seller, handling impasses, nibbling, positioning for easy acceptance and well as many, many others including unethical ones like the red herring. The second section is on how to resolve tough negotiating problems. The third section covers how to use pressure points in negotiation. Then comes negotiating with non-Americans followed by attitudes and beliefs of a power negotiator. Section six covers developing power over the other side and section seven covers the various drives that motivate people in a negotiation.

Simply one of the best books on negotiation, it is a highly recommended read and should be kept near at hand for the occasional review whether to assist you in dealing with the car salesman, the children, or anyone else you deal with.

Packed With Knowledge!
As you read Roger Dawson's now-classic book, you'll find yourself nodding your head saying, "Those guys used that gambit against me last week." And then you will say, "Never again!" This book is a rarity: A "Secrets of" book that actually provides you with useful tactics that you can employ in daily life and business. In fact, the knowledge you gain from this book will come in just as handy in everyday situations, like buying a car or setting your kid's allowance, as it will when your business' survival is at stake. While the secrets themselves can be reduced to common-sense approaches, many are intuitively brilliant, like the advice to psychically flinch when you hear the other side's first offer. We [...] recommend Dawson's insider insights to all readers, because everyone can benefit by negotiating a better deal.

If you want to be a PROACTIVE NEGOTIATOR, read this book!
Roger Dawson has been one of my success mentors for years. Since almost every dealing in our lives involves some type of negotiating, this book should be on everyone's book shelf. His wisdom is clear and eloquent - but more than that it is right on! Even before you finish The Secrets of Power Negotiating for the first time, you will be a changed person - it's that incredible. I say first time because you will want to read it again and again.

Roger Dawson covers all of the proactive bases: smart thinking, system thinking, futuristic thinking, and positive thinking. If you are truly seeking the kind of success and abundance that makes your life 100% livable - you must read this book. Some of Dawson's ideas are found in SUCCESS BOUND, another book that can help you proactively deal with problems and turn them into opportunities for success.

Everything that I have put into practice that Dawson has recommended has worked. The dozens of gambits and recommended strategies will bring you success. Read it and you will believe that you can negotiate anything that you set your mind to. My copy is worn with highliter and pen marks all through it from the numerous times that I've returned to it in order to study it again.

You will find that this exciting and informative book becomes a part of you. Don't hold back - let it happen. In fact, you should spend 10 to 15 minutes every morning focusing your thoughts on the truths of this book, thereby allowing them to seep deep into your subconscious mind. If you do this I guarantee this wisdom will most assuredly bring you the success and abundance you deserve.

Enjoy the book and your new proactive life.

An action plan for employers to avoid the crunch
Finally, a book that connects the dots with all the data that supports what I've been experiencing all along as a small business owner: We're in an employee crunch that won't go away unless we as employers do some long-term planning NOW. Despite all the media hype about the highly qualified people on the street currently looking for work, I've been frustrated for the past few years in finding the qualified, productive few to fill the slots we have. Herman, Gioia, and Olivo explain why. Makes good sense!

But they don't stop with theory and statistics. (Granted, there are plenty of charts, facts, and numbers. But I liked those-adds credibility. I want authors to give me proof rather than platitudes.) They outline an action plan for employers to make sure they don't get caught in the crunch. I'm handing the book to my general manager and telling him to implement immediately.

By the way, I liked the readable style. Great pullouts of the key ideas. Easy to skim. You could even hand this book to a department supervisor or manager to cull ideas to correct department recruitment, retention, and productivity problems. Although it addresses big-picture issues of strategic planning, it certainly gets down to the details of the do-now-today stuff .

Dianna Booher, author of 40 books, including Speak with Confidence, Communicate with Confidence, and E-Writing

On the mark, ahead of the curve...
I've been a fan of Roger Herman and his books for many years and once again he shows us the insight of looking to the future, but acting now to make the best of that future when it arrives. During a time when many managers and business owners may be focused solely on survival, Roger and his co-authors, Tom Olivo and Joyce Gioia, show the importance of focusing on current business and management practices that can enhance employee engagement, communication, and recognition and thus improve employee relationships, tenure and recruiting as it becomes an even more significant competitive advantage in years to come. Clearly and persuasively written, I also like that this book includes useful action steps for improving any company's circumstances on its way to becoming an "employer of choice."

Fair Warning
IMPENDING CRISIS is vision founded on common sense and substaintiated by unrefutable data. It plainly defines the coming management challenge that most business leaders do not take seriously. Frankly, that's just fine with us. Competitors - please don't read this book. Our organizations are preparing based on the guidance of Herman, Olivo and Gioia. We expect it to be our greatest competitive advantage.

A Great Mystery
This review concerns the 1928 edition. When Fenton Hardy is injured during a case, he asks Frank and Joe to join him in Montana to find some stolen gold. I'd more accurately give the book 4.5 stars. The mystery was great, with plenty of action and the book was well-written; however, the book is half over before Frank and Joe finally reach Montana and I found that this was too long. Also, while it was good to see Frank And Joe singlehandedly catch the criminals for a change, unlike the first four books, it seemed a little too simple. But, still, it was an enjoyable book; well worth reading.

Once you start reading, you cant stop
Hardy Boys, Hunting for Hidden Gold is one of the best books I have read in my life. It combines mystery, adventure, and suspense all crammed in one book. The Hardy Boys series is a really great series. I usually don't like mystery books but this one is really good.Unlike some books that have boring parts. Hunting for Hidden Gold doesn't have any boring parts. That is very good. I really don't like parts where they just talk and talk about boring things that don't interest me. The Hardy Boys have been around for awhile and people still read them. Hardy Boys can be read by all ages. it is not really hard to read. In the whole Hardy Boys series there are 58 books. I am looking forward to reading more books from the series. Hunting for Hidden Gold is a sort of long book. It is about 150 pages long. That is not too long but it is not very short either. Since it is long, it gets lots of action in it. If it was any longer, it would have some boring parts in it. In conclusion, this book deserves five stars.

A book review of Hunting for Hidden Gold by Alyssa Laspesa
Recommendation - This book is an exciting thrill packed mystery novel. I recommend this book to anyone 13 years or older. It contains thrills, suspense, and many unpredictable close calls. If you are adventurous this book will hold your interest. "She may drown" Frank thought fearfully. The boys were very adventurous and brave to swim after the drowning animals. Another reason would be that the Hardy boys are heroes. "Look out!" Frank cried out. He grabbed Joe's arm and both boys leaped ahead in the nick of time. No matter difficult the situation, they never get hurt. They always come out the good guys. The Hardy boys think over each clue carefully so they out smart everyone. In conclusion, if you like a mystery novel where the main characters end up heroes, read this book.

One of my favorite characters, is Nate who lives on a farm with his older brother, Abe, Abe's wife, Effie, and Effie's twin babies, James and Elza. I like him because he is nice , like when Rose gets sick, he comes to see her a lot.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about 12 year old girls who have lots of adventures and who love to read. One adventure is when a tree falls on their henhouse, after a big ice storm, and makes a big hole that the chickens escape out of, and then they have to find all of the hens and roosters.

A wonderfully entertaining pageturner!
This book is absolutely terrific! Rose Wilder adjusts to life in Mansfield, away from her beloved Rocky Ridge Farm. She meets many new people, has exciting experiences, and also falls in love with her best friend Paul Cooley.

This was my second favorite little house book
I liked this book second favorite.New Dawn On Rocky Ridge was my favorite. In this book,Rose and her parents move into town becuase of tornadoes, fires and droughts on the farm. She meets new friends, and watches her freind Swiney change his name to Nate.
