Really Good Book!
This book is really good.It gives clear picture of software developement methdologies. I really enjoyed reading this book. This will be my one of the favorite books.

Build Real-World Enterprise Systems
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Roger Fournier's book. I am a voracious reader with many books on Client-Server, Web technology, systems development, etc.; however, Mr. Fournier's methodology is a welcome addition to my library. This may be the most practical book that I have seen for systematically approaching the development of complex systems. I plan on incorporating much of his methodology and ideas in my future projects. I would recommend it for anyone interested in learning about client-server or web technology and it is a great reference for professionals involved in project development (both large and small).

I am encouraged by the books honesty in stressing that building large systems is hard work. Too often the literature touts "sure-fire" success if you follow a particular "cook book" sequence or employ specific technology. As anyone in the business knows, good preparation, realistic goals, teamwork and attention to detail are more important than choosing the latest "hot" technology. The book walks through the stages of a projects life cycle and provides much "food for thought" in how to get each stage right. But it never deceives one into thinking the process is easy and it never implies that the proposed methods are the only logical approach to take.

Although the title focuses on C/S and Web Application development, the methodology presented has a much broader application. It provides an excellent framework for development of any complex system. The book is well written. It provides broad coverage from requirements discovery through project deployment. The book contains so much information that the reader may want to focus on specific areas of high personal interest at first- such as Web architecture or systems analysis. Fortunately, Mr. Fournier's style is such that you can concentrate on the chapters that are most relevant to your needs first and later read the other sections without a significant loss of continuity.

As an Enterprise Architect, I have found the book very helpful. It contains useful information for project managers, enterprise and system architects, analysts, developers and test engineers. Without going into details I'll say that the tables, checklists and web-references presented throughout the book have been very useful.

I believe the survey, analysis and joint facilitated session chapters are well presented and offer a lot of information on project definition and scoping. They certainly make clear the importance of up-front planning to a projects success. For my purposes, the C/S and Web Architecture chapter was of high interest and was well presented. I was glad to see a chapter devoted to software re-use. However, I would like to see this chapter expanded to include more information on infrastructure, middleware and components. I would recommend anyone interested in the book to quickly scan the table of contents to see the wide range of information that can be found.

Mr. Fournier mentions that there might be a follow-up book focusing on the project management aspects of building complex systems. I sincerely hope he writes this.

Excelente
Excelente para el desarrollo de grandes proyectos tanto en Web como de todo tipo de sistemas.

Strong series opener
When E.J. Pugh discovers the bodies of her next door neighbors and the four-year-old who witnessed it she is horrified. After she finds out that she has been named Bessie's guardian, she worries that the child could be the next target of the killer. When she also finds out that the police think that Mr. Lester killed his wife, child and himself she becomes determined to clear his name and protect Bessie. I couldn't put down this fast paced and high intensity start to the E. J. Pugh series.

Dearly love E.J., but
I am glad I am not her neighbor!! This was the first book I read from Cooper, and the friends/neighbors deaths were shocking to me. Cooper managed to pull it out and the book was a good read. Can't wait to read more to see how the family is coping and what danger is lurking around the corner for the Pugh's.

Wonderful book--I couldn't put it down.
I started this book and was hooked from the very beginning. I cried with E.J. Pugh, the protagonist, at the death of her friends and neighbors--the whole family except for one little girl. I could feel for E.J. and her family dealing with: inability to believe and cope with the idea that a beloved friend could committ a brutal murder like this, the difficulty in taking a child so emotionally injured by this incident and trying to adapt her into a new family, with E.J. trying to solve this murder. One of the very best mysteries I have read. I already love and reccommend Susan Rogers Coopers series about Sheriff Milt Kovack, an Oklahoma lawman, as a superior series. But I wonder, after this book, how will she ever be able to keep the suspense this high again. I hope E.J. Pugh and her family are around for a long time.

Pathways into the Jungian World: Phenomenology and Analytical Psychology
Published in Library Binding by Routledge (1999)

Soulful Path
Creative and inspiring,Roger Brooke's collection is a walk into the depths of experience!

An excellent resource beautifully written!
This is an extraordinarily rich collection of Jungian essays with the best introduction to phenomenology you are ever likely to find, anywhere! Exceptionally wide ranging, the chapters look at a spectrum of issues of concern far beyond the Jungian world from postmodernism to television, spirituality to modern philosophy, selfhood, death and eros. From within the Jungian-phenomological frame, essays offer new insights into the work of such thinkers as James Hillman, Heidegger and Erich Neumann. Particularly evocative is the teatment of alchemy and psychology. This is a book for any serious reader looking for healing possibilities in the modern world.

Charting deep waters...
Roger Brooke has gathered together a fine collection of essays for the edited volume, Pathways into the Jungian World. The volume is a rare treat for those with a mutual interest in Jung and phenomenological psychology, but also proves to be an entry point for analytical psychologists into phenomenological perspectives of Jung's legacy. For Brooke, Pathways into the Jungian World is a natural progression from his 1991 work, Jung and Phenomenology, which developed from his doctoral dissertation at Rhodes University, South Africa. Brooke is Professor of Psychology and Director of Training in Clinical Psychology at Duquesne University, as well as an Adjunct Faculty at The C.G. Jung Institute Analyst Training Program in Pittsburgh. It is clear, from the beginning, that Brooke has taken pains to make the volume "user-friendly." His introduction provides newcomers to phenomenology and analytical psychology a hospitable "pathway" into the intersection of these two worlds. While the introduction is rather brief at seven pages, it gives the reader just enough background information to confidently situate the essays in the volume. Brooke makes a point of showing how analytic psychology and phenomenology have had "an uneasy relationship" (p. 1). On the one hand, Jung himself considered his work phenomenological in nature, part of the Geisteswissenschaften(human sciences) as opposed to the Natuurwissenschaften (natural sciences), though at times he attempted to straddle this rather ambiguous line. On the other hand, Jung has been relatively ignored by phenomenologists until fairly recently. Brooke locates part of the tension in the conflicts between Jung and Medard Boss, who developed a psychotherapy based on Martin Heidegger's Being and Time. The good news is that both analytic psychology and phenomenology share a desire to "describe the phenomena of psychological life without violating the integrity of experience" (p. 1). As Brooke tells the story, analytic psychology and phenomenology are no longer merely rigid systems of thought, but rather movements that can be mutually enriched through dialogue with one another. Clearly, Pathways is a huge leap forward in fostering such a promising collaboration between these two traditions. While there has certainly been a tension between analytic psychology and phenomenology, it is hoped that this volume will stimulate more scholars to take up the challenge of charting the deep waters where these two traditions intersect. With papers from brilliant writers in the field, including Robert Romanyshyn, Michael P. Sipiora, Eva Simms, Mary Watkins and many others, this volume will not disappoint. Cute
The book makes me happy in the sense that a mutt can make himself a part of a family, actually an indispensable part so naturally. The phrases used in the book are best chosen so that it is easy to read and feel the real emotion in it.

A true family member
Rusty just had so many things to make you love him. It paints a true picture of some of the bad times along with all the antics he took part in. I'd recommend it to readers of all ages.

A Feel-Good Book
More Than a Mutt hits the spot for anyone who loves dogs. Roger did a great job of humanizing a very special dog's personality. Our whole family enjoyed the book and we highly recommend it.

Very accurate - at times too accurate
All in all, a great tab book to a fantastic album; David Gilmour is really a fascinating player with a very unique style, and this book is a great way of learning about Gilmour's technique, and thus understand Pink Floyd as musicians as well as the guitar as an instrument much better. Some songs here are very easy to play, even for beginners, and others are more complicated, so it's better to start with the easier ones like 'Hey You', then build up to the more sophisticated riffs and solos.

The book is very accurate, and has few errors; but in that accuracy lies its biggest failing. Many times the transcriber made too much of an effort to put down every single sound on the album, and thus take small, almost unnoticable ticks and scratches and write them down as 'unpitched percussive notes'(i.e blocked notes). Those are very confusing and many times completely unnecessary. I played the Wall CD in full volume and still wasn't able to hear many of these notes (I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were gleeches in the recording which were removed during the CD remastering). Of the ones I did hear, I'm sure at least some were not intentional.

Bottom line: excellent book, but more for studying of Gilmour's playing than for actually playing the songs.

Well, what can i say
Roger really out did himself with this album. Not the best from my point of view, but on the scale of things one of the best lyically in the world to date. Pink Floyd, with Dave Gilmours huge influence, has written the best 'story' album in history. The depth that Waters has gone into is just ....wow. The story of a boy called Pink Floyd along with the film is just a true image of what was waters and barret's life lead to. A wounderfull view into the world that is Pink Floyd. Listen to it, is the only thing I can say, and you will never turn your back from Pink Floyd

Classic Creation, a must have!
Roger Waters has done it again, one of the most amazing CDs in the history of Symphonic Rock, this book is very well designed illustrated and written, for all of you who play the electric guitar this book is a must. Includes all the songs from the double CD The Wall. and if you play the acoustic guitar, hey there are songs like "Hey You". I just got it and I it's amazing!
Comfortably numb matches the original version exactly, and nothing is more satisfying than being able to play pink Floyd solos. You got some things for Piano as well - like 'Nobody's home'. FUn to play, fun to sing, buy it you won't regret it.

Told it like it is
Having been a cop myself for almost 18 years along with being injured five times in five years, being diagnosed with PTSD, and also having to take a medical retirement-Ken hits the highlights of being a cop.
Few people know what it's like to go to work and some days have life or death situations happen several times in a day. Ken's book tells of the fight AFTER the fact of "mind against body."
After doing booksignings myself (ONE STANDS ALONE)in several states this summer, I've had to mention Ken's book several times. It is a true "been there, done that." Thank the Good Lord he made it out okay and is bringing PTSD among cops to the public eye! I'll definatly give it five stars!

PTSD
I never realized policemen were human until I read this book! I found the book very interesting and read it in two days. I have a new respect for policemen - it can't be easy!

A note to Ken and others - I am not a policeman but I did have PTSD about a memory that was tormenting me. I have had major success in dealing with it through my excellent therapist and the use of a technique called EMDR (I think it stands for Eye Movement Desensitize Reprogram). This technique has been incredibly successful for me.

You are not alone!
My applause to Ken Rogers for articulating his lived experience of post traumatic stress disorder. As a mental health practitioner familiar with treating children and adults who have suffered trauma, I join Ken in his hopefulness that spreading the message, "you are not alone," to our public servants will support them in their struggle to reclaim their lives and heal from the hurt of PTSD.

Power Update
A good, well written update on the power industry. Conrad is balanced, shows no bias but is obviously concerned about the future power situation. 20 years of underinvestment, in his opinion, will start taking their toll and it is up to us to rethink this and take a long, hard look at the changes taking place in the industry.

Good for the investor and a must read for the Analyst (if there are any left) on Wall Street.

Power update
A very well written, balanced and unbiased update on our power situation.

The author is not trying to "push" his viewpoint but rather attempts to show us where we are and what we should be thinking about to start us on the road to a new power infrastructure.

Highly recommended for the individual and the Wall Street Analyst.

Power-FUL insights
Essential reading for anyone interested in how to take advantage of the changing forces shaping the energy and telecom utility industries. Well-written & interesting. I'm a subscriber to Conrad's excellent newsletter, which I also recommend.

Getting to Know Oliver
Thank you, Chris de Vinck, for sharing your journey of love with Oliver. Your book has been an inspiration and guideline since 1984 in our choice to care for and nurture our own litle Oliver, Gregory David. Although he died recently, it gave us courage and strength to know that someone else has been where we have. He gave us a vision of life that transcends the life we knew before his birth. It's all about love. It's ALL about love. You will always remain in our prayers for writing this little portrait of the gift of knowing someonewho has nothing to give but love.

**You'll want to read this more than once!**
If you have ever wondered why God allows people to be born with handicaps of any type, read this book. Oliver was born blind, mute, physically and mentally handicapped, yet his life had a greater impact on more people than many of us who are "normal" can ever hope to have. This book reminds us of the value of life and is very inspiring. I found it most touching that Ronald Reagan wrote to Mr. DeVinck about the power of his powerless brother and now former President Reagan is also one of the powerless due to Alzheimer's. I would highly recommend that you read this book. I also recommend Harold Kushner's "When Bad Things Happen to Good People."

life changing book
I want to let anyone know that is interested in this book to buy it. I first read this book about 8 years ago, and have made a point to read it at least once a year. It has a way of reminding me what is important in life, and what is real. Read this book and you will never be the same! I have given my copy to anyone that will read it, it is good for young teens and up!

Low-fat Gourmet cooking?
This book is fantastic. Everything tastes like gourmet cooking.
Some of the recipes are fairly simple while others are not. This book is great for people who love to cook and want low-fat alternatives that taste great. Fair warning though this isn't one of those quickie meal recipe books. It is the best cookbook I own, regardless of the low-fat. It gives tons of information on exotic as well as common ingredients. It is a great gourment recipe book as well as instructional cooking book.
