A simple guide to birth control
I was searching for a book which will help me to choose a proper birth control method. I was frustrated when I searched the internet because I could not get the answers to my questions.
I'm happy that I bought this book. In 1 hour I learned more about birth control than all the sex education classes taught me. I would highly recommend this book to any women who is having sex and does not want to get pregnant.

Great for Answering Questions on Sex and Birth Control
This book has everything we need to know about the different methods of birth control to statistics on unplanned pregnancies. It is great and I highly recommened it to anyone who is sexually active.

A practical, "reader friendly" guide for both sexes
Accessibly written by Kamal K. Dutta, M.D. (a member of the Diplomate American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology), A Simple Guide To Birth Control is an informative, practical, "reader friendly" guide for both sexes about the varieties of available birth control methods, including pills, condoms, spermicides, the NuvaRing, transdermal contraception, contraceptive implants, injectable contraceptives, sterilization, emergency contraceptive pills, and fertility awareness methods. Other than the pregnancy-terminating effects of emergency contraceptive pills, abortion in general is not covered in A Simple Guide To Birth Control. Examining the effectiveness of various methods in both preventing unwanted pregnancy and halting the transmission of sexual transmitted diseases (STDs), A Simple Guide To Birth Control is a superbly presented, easy-to-understand resource which very strongly recommended for anyone who is (or intends to be) sexually active.

Food for the gods...
In "Ultimate Chocolate" you will be seduced into reading the story of chocolate. Did you know that chocolate grows in spindle-shaped pods that form on the Theobroma cacao tree? You will love reading about how chocolate is produces from the pods which reveal beans and then finally nibs which are used to make chocolate.

Patricia Lousada explains all the delicious details and then gives the secrets for selecting chocolates for your own home cooking. She explains how to successfully melt chocolate. There is detailed information on how to temper chocolate which is only needed for formal candy making.

Do you remember the first time you tasted chocolate eclairs or Belgium truffles? The pictures in this book will send you right to the kitchen. The step-by-step instructions help to turn the pictures into a reality. Adding a professional finishing touch to cakes is also easy when you can follow the step-by-step pictures.

Personalizing chocolate treats is easy when you know how to make chocolate curls, ribbons, flowers, leaves, baskets, boxes, cut-outs and curls. You can choose to make the simplest chocolate mousse or a wedding cake which will serve 100 guests.

Other recipes you will want to try include: Chocolate Pecan Pie, Chocolate Rum Fondue, Pecan Chocolate Fudge Cake, Austrian Sacher Torte, Chocolate Shortbreads, White Chocolate and Lime Mousse and a variety of Chocolate Sauces.

Delicious, decadent and visually satisfying. Enter the world of chocolate seduction.

Heaven can wait!
A truly amazing collection of chocolate recipes! I have only tried 3 so far, but each one has been a great success. The book begins by explaining the origins of chocolate, history of chocolate, how it's made, etc., then moves on to explaining how to work with chocolate. There is also a fair amount of detailing and photography on making impressive chocolate decoration for your desserts, which is actually easy to prepare. The book offers recipies for pies, mousses, cakes, cookies, confectionary, ice creams, drinks, and sauces. I must warn you, though, that some recipes call for as much as 300 grams of butter, and some call for 3 cups of double cream. I tried them once and the results were delicious, but not worth the health hazard.

Nevertheless, the final results taste great and look great. One you should try if you buy the book: the Striped Cheesecake!

Its as good as it looks!
This is the ultimate book for chocolate lovers. It offers a wonderful history of chocolate and fabulous pictures. The recipes are easy to follow - you don't have to be a gourmet pastry chef to make these desserts! Even if you're not into cooking, this book is a feast for the eyes! The photographs make your mouth water!

A must for every reader
If you think you've read the quintessential courtroom novel, or learned more than you can possibly learn bout contemporary history, think again. this book has it all. Janice Woods /windle has an uncanny knack for making real people come to life on a page and they soon feel like old friends or family members. Here's a book that tells you things about Texas you never knew, gives you an entirely different slant on how this country handled the era around WWI, and shows you with almost painful clarity how people's passions and prejudices shape history and lives.

From the first page where you meet Will Bergfeld until the conclusion of an emotional trial, this is a book you can't put down. As much as this book resembles True Women and Hill Country in creating a mood and drawing the history of Texas, it is again totally different, and could just as easily have taken place today. For those who think racial profiling is a new facet of our lives, think again. Pick up this book and you won;t be able to put it down until you've read the last word.

Truth is better than fiction :)
I find it amazing that this story is a true story of the author's grandfather, and his trial for treason due to the fact that he was/is of German descent.

All of these amazing characters are even more amazing because they actually existed. Will's wife Virginia, who believed in, supported, and was so frightened for him; his mother-in-law, who was on his side from the beginning to the end, helping the other men's families while they were confined in prison; and his sister, beautiful, strong, and unafraid to go to the ends of the earth to prove her brother's innocence. Will's attorney, Atwell, again, a man who went the extra mile, even when he wasn't all that sure of his client's innocence.

The part about the miners fighting for a union broke my heart, the struggles that they had to go through, the awful working conditions they had to endure...and there was Will, just trying to make a difference, trying to help the families, literally trying to save their lives by "uniting". He was a wonderful man by all accounts, strong in his beliefs, and fearless in the face of adversity.

The story of his parents, and grandparents was so enjoyable, with all the love and adventure of people trying to escape their countries and start anew in "The land of the Free, and the home of the Brave."

America is a land of so many different peoples who came here on the soul belief that they would be treated with fairness, equality, and respect. I am always so saddened when I read these true accounts of how we treat other cultures and nationalities because of fear, or mis-understanding. The only true Americans, are Native Americans, everyone else can trace their ancestry all the way back to some relation, who was brave enough to come to this country in order to seek the American Dream...Is it just a Dream? I hope not.

Will believed in the Dream; he believed in equality for all, for fair wages for working men and women; he believed in the union, he believed in Free speech...he believed that he was an American. And he was!

Enjoy, Debbi

WILL'S WAR: Truth and love rise up to prejudice and fear
Will Bergfeld, who "sometimes accompanied the sunset" on his grandmother's violin, was playing for his wife and little girls in Weinert, Texas one night when a train stopped, ominously, without whistling. Eighteen lawmen burst into the Bergfeld home and arrested Will without a warrent. The year was 1917. The United States had declared war on Germany. In a wave of anti-German hysteria, authorities in this country began gathering information about Americans of German descent and placing them on a secret list, "Subjects of the Teutonic Order."

Will, a rural mailman west of Fort Worth, was noticed because he organized workers and was concerned about protecting water rights of farmers in a dry land. He could not stand injustice. He greatly loved America, where his family had come to escape the same sorts of injustices in Germany. However, he and 51 other men found themselves in a Federal trial in Abilene. He was accused of treason, conspiracy to overthrow the government, and thretening to kill President Woodrow Wilson. Will's father-in-law Henry King hired a gifted attorney.

Readers of TRUE WOMEN will remember Henry and Bettie and their gracious home in Seguin, on the beautiful Guadalupe River. In WILL'S WAR, the King's daughter Virginia is a young woman. Her daughters Little Virginia and Mary play on the courtroom floor during their father's trial. Bettie is there, too. Peachtree, the odd vagrant "with a wreath of wild hair" materializes with his owl. He provides valuable information to Will's sister Louise, a thoroughly modern woman with a custom-made red roadster. Other remarkable people make a first appearance, among them, Pastor Jose Polycarpo Rodriguez.

This story is not fiction. It is based on the 3000-page transcript of the trial. Little Virginia is the mother of Janice Woods Windle. This book, like TRUE WOMEN and HILL COUNTRY, is categorized as fiction because of dialog, but all are based on lengthy research in family and public sources. Readers who treasure the author's lyrical prose in her previous books will be delighted with this new one. Even more valuable is the story itself: fear and prejudice of innocent people can twist and destroy American values of liberty and justice for all. Here, in a gracefully written story of enduring love and truth, all Americans can go back in time to dusty Weinert and the banks of the jade green Guadalupe to learn how to avoid these problems in the future. Janice Woods Windle has given us all a valuable and enduring gift.

INTERRUPTS AND THE 8259 CHIP
INTERRUPTS AND THE 8259 CHIP

Complete and detailed information about IBM PC compatibles.
This book has exceptional detail, all the way from debug routines to determine hardware addresses, to assembly and C programs to control the hardware. Numerous schematics and timing tables are also provided. Usually, several books are needed to provide the breadth and depth that this book provides. This book is succinct enough to present virtually all the information I need to dig into PC hardware. If you want to know exactly what is happening in the guts of the IBM PC compatible: from the BIOS calls, to interrupt servicing, to the chips that interface the PC to memory, to the exact timing of the strobe line on the printer port, you should get this book.

Fabulous Book that Everyone Should Read!
Meg Patton, single mother and the newest deputy of the Elk Springs Sheriff's Department, has finally come home. It's time for Meg to reconcile with her sisters---and past time to introduce them to her son. It might even be the right time to let herself fall in love. And even though she wasn't looking for one, she's found a likely candidate for the last part. Scott McNeil discovered an abandoned baby one night, and Meg was the officer called to investigate. She's attracted to him from the start---he's good-looking and great with the baby. So when the baby's mother is found dead, Meg must prove he's innocent, because she knows he can't be guilty. And she has to prove it---they have to prove it---for her sake, as well as his. This is a great book. It's the second book in the Patton's Daughters trilogy, but it easily stands alone. With a fresh take on the traditional woman-returning-to-home-with-her-son-that-no-one-knows-about story line, it stays fresh and engaging all the way through. If you like this book, try The Women in Blue, A Message for Abby, and one of Janice Johnson's latest books Jack Murray, Sheriff.

Another Masterpiece written by Janice Johnson!
Janice Johnson is one of my favorite autors. She makes the people in her books very realistic. This book is no exception. It has a detailed storyline, and great charecter's! I couldn't put it down untill I read the very last word. What an enthralling story!! It is a sequel to The Woman in Blue, which is another great book! The story is part of a trio of books labeled Patton's Daughter's. This was such a great book, I can not wait until I can read the third book of this series!!

Black Children -- by Janice Hale: EXCELLENT!
Janice Hale has made a significant contribution to assisting educators and others in understanding the cognitive style of African American children. In her book, she covers the concepts of emotive style (especially as it exists historically in the Black community), relational vs. analytical learning styles and some solutions for how to better reach (and teach) African American youth.

Her writing is timeless, as valid today (in 2000) as it was when I first read it (in 1993) and when it was first published (1986, I believe). This book is a "must read" for anyone interested in gaining insight into how schools (and teachers) can better serve the educational needs of African American youth, particularly in understanding the emotive style of communication most African American youth are exposed to in church and family gatherings. While not a validation for "Ebonics" -- which I do not support -- this book definitely makes the case that the relational style of learning and emotive communication style are vital parts of the African American community's legacy, tradition and uniqueness.

"THIS IS A GREAT RESOURCE TOOL."
THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG TEXTBOOK IN THE FIELD OF BLACK CULTURE. IT IS SIMPLE AND CONCISE, YET COMPREHENSIVE IN ITS COVERAGE OF THE EXTANY RESERACH ON THE SUBJECT. THE ORGANIZATION AND STYLE OF THE BOOK MAKE IT USER FRIENDLY FOR CULTURE AWARENESS AND AN EXCELLENT TEACHING TOOL.

Starts up another great series by Janice Harrell
Janice Harrell, author of the Vampire Twins, has written another great vampire story. Rina has spent the two hundred years since she was turned into a vampire at age 16 longing to be human once again. Her love for James, a human boy, only serves to make this longing stronger. Will Rina regain her humanity? Read this exciting, romantic two book minseries to find out. Teens who like vampire and horror stories won't be dissapointed.

A great love story and thriller.
Blood Curse and Blood Spell were great romance and thriller books. I recommend them to any teenagers who love a good romance novel. Read it's great.

Awesome Book!
I loved it, I never go online and buy books, but after I read this one I had to go and get Part one and see how it all started!!! I think I have a new fav Author!

Not as good as The Vampire Twins, but still very good.
The Vampire's Love by Janice Harrell was a pretty good series, even though it wasn't as good as The Vampire Twins. However, the series was very short. I felt it could have at least been a trilogy, rather then two books. Also, the ending seemed a little neat, unlike the Vampire Twins, where the line between good and evil seemed thinner. I still reccomend this to teen horror fans.

The best from the series.
Bloodchoice was definitley the best from the Vampire Twins series, probably because it was the most emotional. Ari struggles to make the right decisions as her vampire twin, Paul, continues to kill. Her natural instinct is to protect him, despite being a human who knows right from wrong. She has to make agonizing decisions, but manages to find her own strength. I highly reccomend this series. It is supenseful, thrilling, and even emotional.

One of the best Vampire series I've read
When I first got the Vampire Twins Series, I expected it to be a ripoff of the Vampire Diaries (another four book "trilogy" by L.J. Smith). However, I was proved wrong as I started reading through them. Bloodchoice is probably my favorite out of all of them because it has the most feeling in it. The main characters (the twins, Paul and Ari Montclair) go through a lot of loss, but it has a note of a new beginning that leads into the next book. The whole saga of the Montclair twins is riviting, but I consider the third book to have the most depth and fast-paced excitement.

Not for Babies
I read this book in 4th grade. The reading level is about 5-7th grade, not for babies or toddlers. The plot of the book is based on a number of items in the Metropolitan Museum of Art which all hale from a town in Vermont called Castleton. One of them is hand-woven carpet with a blue cat depicted on it. Another is a pewter teapot. Around these artifacts and the small amounts of information that could be gleaned on their history, the author has built a charming tale of a blue kitten in search of a home. Since he was born under a blue moon, the kitten can only find a home and a hearth in the house of a human who knows (or can be taught) the River's Song. The River's Song is the Song of Creation, of the making of beautiful things. The kitten encounters many inhabitants of Castletown in his quest and finds them falling under the dark spell of Arunah Hyde, whose whole interest is speed and wealth. The kitten himself nearly falls under the same spell, but escapes at the last minute. His quest seems doomed to fail, however, until he crosses the path of a lonely, ugly girl. This is a book that does not deserve to be out of print. It could easily be used in the classroom as a lesson in early American culture and history, but is also a just a very enjoyable and moving read.

blue cats are enlightening!
This book made me laugh and made me cry. It also did something that very few books have done before, it gave me hope. The book demonstrates how a love of honesty and beauty affect the lives of different people in different ways. It never falters or leaves the reader hanging. The best read in a long time!
