Definitely worth getting for MBA students and World Leaders!
A great insight into how world economics really works. It's easy to read with examples and diagrams that really help you understand why people behave economically the way they do. To add to this, Andrew Scott is one of the best lecturers to have worked at London Business School.

This text should be compulsory for all World Leaders!

Main Street to Miracle Mile : American roadside architecture

Average review score:

Excellent social history of American cities in 20th century.
"Main Street to Miracle Mile" is an excellent introduction to the development of American cities in this century. What's more, it takes what could be a dull topic and makes it lively by looking at such structures as gas stations, motels, and shopping centers and showing how the changes in the architecture of these businesses reflect the changes that were taking place in American society. Good photographs from many parts of America illustrate the impact a more mobile population has had on the location, size, and design of the buildings that serve us. While this book has been used as a text for college classes, it also can be very enjoyable for the casual reader.

Marianne as a liberated Cinderella
Marianne is a heroine that is not beloved for her typical beauty, and is not a slave to the expected behavior of young wealthy women. This is somewhat of a faery tale romance, without seeming unreal or contrived. Sand presents the two main characters as real, intellegent, and passionate about nature. It is nice to read a book about a strong woman without the author feeling she needed to sway to much in the women's lib direction. George Sand's life is an inspiration, as is this romance where two kindred souls overcome the standard ideas of age, meekness, and the expected behavior of the classes. I read this at the same time as Dumas' Camille, and in only two days. I couldn't wait to see what happened to the characters in these books.

Great Tunes for Advanced Players
A fine collection of wonderful tunes. The book is valuable not only for learning an array of fantastic old-time tunes from top players, but it is also a fine record of the playing of top fiddlers. Krassen includes good biographical information about the fiddlers, and he includes excellent photographs of the musicians. It's a great book. The tunes are not for novices, though, and they will challenge intermediate and even some advanced players.

Where Would I Be Today?
I can not explain the feeling of this book. Four words A SCOOL BOYS MEMORY. Being 33 years old now, this book brings back all memories of a young boys school days. I remember this book perfectly, and remember doing all the lessons that it contained. Call me sentimental, but i enjoy books that had a meaning to my life, and "May I Come In" is it. If a guy can remember such a long ago part of his childhood school memories, this book must be telling all something. My dream is to get this book in my hands once again-and remember what it was like to be a boy starting out in his road of life. MAY I COME IN? Please once again let me.

walking and writing feat
This book is about a walk from south Portugal to Italy. As the writer is on a very modest budget he usually sleeps rough, but gets lots of hospitality on the way. This leads to all kinds of stories, mainly from old people and people who live a lonely life in the mountains.

He does not make his goal of Istanbul, but it is a very remarkable journy anyway, comparable to Patrick's Leigh Fermor's walk from Hook of Holland to Constantinople but without the luxury part in the latter book.

The book is very well written and keeps you reading mile after mile (page after page). I have quite a collection of walking stories, this was one of the first and I still rate it as one of the best.
