I Would If I could
This is one of my all time favorite books. In this book, Patty goes to stay with her grandmother and aunt for the summer. While there, she recieves a bike for her birthday. But, Patty just can't learn how to ride it, no matter how hard she tries. And to make matters worse, it's the ugliest bike, she's ever seen. And worse yet, her best-friends have started a club, but she can't join it unless she learns how to ride her bike. Will Patty conquer her fear of bicyles?

Illustrated Glossary of Petroleum Geochemistry

The petroleum geochemistry deskbook
The book is one of the best examples of comprehensive and logic presenatation of such a complex multidisciplinar area as petroleum geochemistry is. The author has embodied the main concepts conserning petroleum geochemistry as a field of knowledge, its fundamentals, and practical application as well as applications to other areas into short topics avoiding complex chemical classifications and providing case illustrations. The glossary is illustrated in clear and comprehensive manner wich permits the user to acess rapidly the necessary information both to the specialist and professionals from other areas even unfamilirized with the subject. Taking into account all mentioned above, I guess the work could be entitled also as "Basics of petroleum geochemistry" and in my mopinion is higlhy recommended as a deskbook for all geologists and enviromental engineers or as a short course for both graduate and post-graduate students.

Get those creative juices flowing!!!!!
These are the greatest ideas in books I have seen in a good long time. They teach creativity and help kids open their minds and see what's inside. I really like the fact that it has exercises in it that encourage rewriting. Whether your child needs a boost in writing or plans on being the next Hemingway, this is a great book to get them started. My favorite part was the exercise that asks, if you were a dolphin how would you spend your day? These books will generate a mind no matter what type of stories your child likes. I gave one of these to both my 7 & 8 yr old boys and they have been begging for more ever since and making up their own. This is a great stocking stuffer instead of candy!!!

I'm an Angel. We don't Lust!
Absolutely fantastic! Dashiell is just the sweetest angel you could imagine and there's a lot of humour in his relationship with Liz. She thinks he's just a private eye with problems- who else would be wearing a trenchcoat and imitating Sam Spade? And as a thoroughly modern woman she objects to being called "cupcake" but when the guy you fall in love with has been dead since before the 1930's, when he joined the Avenging Angels, slang is just one more thing to cope with. The action is good, the storyline fantastic and Dash is absolutely gorgeous. A brilliant read and a definite keeper.

An excellent book for avid hockey fans
An excellent overview of the history and rules of the game of hockey. This walks through the creation of the game as well as biographies of the greatest players of all time. Even though the target of this book may be for the true fan, those who are merely interested in the game will find enjoyment as well.

It's a mile from here to glory
I've read this book numerous times since junior high. I love it! It is one of my favorites. It takes all the insecurities that we feel as young adults and brings them into the mind's eye. It's a highly inspiring story about real life teen issues such as not fitting in, getting in trouble and the parent/child relationship. It's a "feel good" story that takes you through every emotion, from life's small setbacks to triumphant glories. This should be required reading for young adults and those who deal with them. It's not just for kids, adults can take something from this book also.

It's a Mile From Here to Glory
As a book for young children and adolescents this is a true find. Early McLaren takes what life gives him; loss of his mother, mop of red hair and an ability to run with a chip on his shoulder and shows you that help from an unlikely source can help you bloom.
