The author must have driven alll the back roads of Wyoming!
This book is an invaluable tool for those hunters, sightseers and others looking for the wide open spaces of Wyoming. Each back road is carefully detailed and forks or landmarks are noted. If you don't want to get lost on the prairies or in the mountains this is the book for you!

"What Do You Wish For?"
This book was written by Shirley Jackson whose spooky short story, "The Lottery", you might have had to read in High School.Originally published in 1963, it's back now with beautiful new illustrations filled with color and dreams from the lively imagination of childhood.
What if a magician with stars on his hat suddenly came up to you and gave you 9 wishes? Would you wish to live forever, or for world peace or for something much more wonderful like "a squirrel holding a nut that opens and inside is a Christmas tree." The wishes our lucky girl chooses are delightful and the illustrations of them are pure magic. The ending is the most beautiful part of a very special book. Read this one and find out.

Finally a breakthrough into chapter reading!!
I've tried, unsucessfully, a number of times to introduce my son to chapter books. He is only four, but will be turning five soon. I wanted him to experience the imaginative process of developing an image in his mind from what he hears. This is the first book that has held his interest. He can't read it himself but I can see his face change expression as he listens - I know his mind is at work. We always only read one chapter at a time, drawing the story out. He always can recall the story up to the starting point and is anxious to hear another chapter. I feel like the "magic" of books has been taken to a new level for our little reader - what an amazing thing to see.

Hilarious!
My kids and I laughed and laughed as Adam Sharp and Magna Carter (great name!) tried to get Big Ben back from the Texans who had invaded London. This is a great series for kids who like spies. My sons hope to see Adam Sharp on televisio one of these days. A wonderful series.

A is for apricot...
I loved this book when I was a little kid. My mom used to read it to me and it was so magical. The book is an A B C book that weaves the alphabet into a nature story. It starts off with an Apricot, A and goes on from there. It also has beautiful illustrations. It reads like a poem and the content is not dumbed down like a lot of children's books are. I would recommend it for any parent with small children.:-)
