Art Teacher's review
I've done many of these projects with children, and they are both educational (the book gives some cultural and historical references on the projects) and a cut above some of the really simplistic projects found in a lot of books. I go back to it again and again! I'd highly recommend it.

It's All Here
For fans of the great adventurer Miles Davis' music, this book is visual witness to the constant creativity of his music. He paints and draws in the way that he played-elegant, mysterious and sensuous. At other times, quick and skittering. The paintings are that, too. Layers of his solo imagination appear, curving, colorful, playful. They are painted. Tricks of musical fantasy, dual personalities, remembrances and hints are on the canvases. The bold strokes of his genius are displayed. Miles Davis was a never-ending surprise on the stage. He was intense, serious. He led music past the boundaries known and into so many new places in the heart, mind and soul. The textures and rhythms of the quest he led are captured in his art.

This oversized, paperback art book (originally published in 1991, the year he died) is long out of print. It has become rare and precious. Highly recommended for all who want to "see" what he saw and painted...and played.

One of the Best Studies about Public Art

Outstanding Resource
This book places an outline of world history in an attractive format. There are color maps and illustrations to accompany the highlights of different time periods. There are sections about languages, rulers, politics, agriculture, inventions, and more. A time chart with specific dates runs along the right hand page. Following the section about the twentieth century is a world time chart. On this chart, the dates run down the left and the names of the continents are across the top. This allows you, at a glance, to compare what was happening around the world. This atlas contains a glossary, index of maps, and general index as further study aids. An outstanding addition to home or class libraries.

Barbie Friends
Our family loves this book. The sentences are nicely written to encourage reading skills and stories are for and about little girls who love Barbie to encourage finishing the challenge of reading the whole book. Amy and Michelle are good friends to each other, and as I have found with any Barbie story, Barbie is a good role model: fun, wholesome, encouraging... The main story line is two best friends who are going to be in different classes at school the next year. They are feeling sad, so to cheer themselves up they visit Barbie.com, when they do that they are invited to take a virtual tour or a real tour if Barbie's Home. They accept and find themselves right with Barbie. They have a fun afternoon with visitng Barbie's horse and playing ball topped of by Strawberry smoothies in Barbie's kitchen. Barbie helps them understand that even if they are in different classes they can be friends by relating her own experience when Midge had moved away while they were in school. The girls go home and are much encouraged. All in all, it's a great story, and who wouldn't want to visit Barbie?

really good
sure the title for the review is short but the comic book is great. the story takes place in modern day new york and revolves around Jiro the best killer in his class. the background of most of the fights takes place on rooftops and the occasional apartment. the illistration and story are top notch i can't wait for the second one (if they make one that is).
