fast, fun cyberpunk read
I read this as a paperback, not an e-book. It was fast-paced and imaginative. I always liked the back cover which called the author's work, "the daydreams" of W.T. Quick.

Practical How To Book - not 50,000 foot theory
Our firm is in cost cutting mode, so I got this book looking for practical tips on how to cut our considerable telecom bill. What I liked was the step-by-step approach covering local, long distance and alternative technologies. Instead of a lot of theory, it gets down to USOCs and has a checklist of specific savings ideas. The audit program at the back rambled at bit but had plenty of detail. The book throws in some useful "shovelware" at the back too -- sample RFPs, contracts, things to look for in a good contract, etc. Defintely worth the money.

Chapters chronicle Shakespeare's most pervasive themes
This survey of the major themes in Shakespeare's plays is meant not for a literary audience so much as for a theater audience of playgoers who seek to enjoy these performances. As such, chapters chronicle Shakespeare's most pervasive themes and how these patterns hold changing meaning to past and present viewers.

Not For Kids Only
This book by the "God Squad" is a MUST have for couples and families of all faiths. This book explores the many questions both children and adults have as they walk the path in their spiritual journey. My husband and I are an interfaith couple and love to share this book with everyone we know. Some enjoy it so much, they won't give it back. Rabbi Gellman and Msgr.Hartman are humorous and insightful. Add this book to your home library - you won't regret it!

William Friedkin : Films of Aberration, Obsession and Realit
I'm looking forward to seeing his new movie "rules of engagement". I have thought him the greatest director in the world for a long time. And this book certify you that I'm not wrong. Now I know his effort of making many famous pictures I already saw, for exanple, The French Connection & The Exorcist. And this book answers my curiosity about his steps of filmmaking from his early days as a TV director to recent day. You'll see that he's not a lucky guy but a talented genius like Spilberg.

William Henry Welch and the Heroic Age of American Medicine

A very comprehensive account of a distinguished American.
Simon Flexner portrays William Henry Welch as probably the biggest contributor in helping establish the backbone for medicine / pathology as we know it today. Simon Flexner was a very good friend of Welch's, and this source is one of the best secondary sources available to explore what is basically a patriotic American who helped his country in every single way (including the war) but did not get the fame or credit he deserved because to achieve all that this man had, he could not afford to concentrate on any one topic. This is a book which has enabled me to access what his most intermediate friends described him as, and not only was it a good source, but also an excellent read. If you want to know why American medicine really reached its pinnacle, this book is the answer.

William J. Gedney's Thai and Indic Literary Studies (Michigan Papers on South and Southeast Asia, No 46)
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Michigan Center for (1998)
Author: Thomas John Hudak
Amazon base price: $30.00
Used price: $29.40
Average review score:

Great compilation of Thai literary studies
The book is a collection of writings assembled by Professor Thomas John Hudak. It features articles penned by the most prominent authority on Tai language and linguistics, the late Professor William J. Gedney. It is 155 pages in length and covers several interesting areas, to include "Siamese Riddles, Problems in Translating Traditional Thai Poetry, and Siamese Verse Forms in Historical Perspective." As with all Professor Gedney's writings, this collection is exhaustively well-researched. The information provided is quite illuminating, in particular concerning the history of Thai verse forms and the Sanskrit influence on the origin of some of them. Knowledge of the Thai language and basic components of Thai literature is presupposed by the writer, and for those with an interest in Thai literature this book is a "must have."

An eye opening revelation of the real William Shakespeare
What an eye opener this little book is!

My secretary was typing the manuscript of this book for Dr. Thomas until she went on vacation. Not being familar with computers, Dr. Thomas was at a standstill until I stepped in to make corrections and amendments to his manuscript. I thought it would be a boring inconvenience, but I was very mistaken.

Helping Dr. Thomas on this book enabled me to be one of the first to read the book, and it forever altered my view of the man of the millennium. I found each page illuminating and informative.

Some doubt that Wm. Shakespeare authored those works he is famous for. However, I am convinced that all but the most intransigeant will be forever convinced by this book, written by a man who has been a lifelong student of the Puritans.

As well, I cannot imagine a teacher of English literature dealing with the works of Shakespeare after reading this resource without addressing the issues brought up in it.

If you know a lover of English, and a lover of English literature, this is a book you will want to give to that friend.
