The best gift ever
My mother bought this book, filled it in and gave it to me for Christmas one year. I went into my bedroom, closed the door, and did not come out until 3 hours later - I cried the entire time. I loved reading about my mother's mom and things they used to do together. But even more, I loved reading about the different emotions my mom had during the different stages of my life. That was the best gift I have EVER received.

The best gift I ever received!
My mother sent me this book for my 21st birthday. She and my grandmother had filled it with their memories, hopes, and dreams covering a span of 70 years. I learned things I had never thought to ask, and I treasure the stories they shared with me. I cried for a long time after I received this gift as it touched me so deeply.

A Wonderful Book for my Daughter
This is a wonderful book for my daughter. She is just learning to read words but loves the pictures. When she is older, I know she will thank her mother for this beautifully illustrated work of love. As a little girl, my aunt always bought me a book like this on my birthday. I inscribed this for her. A real treat.

A great book written from the heart
THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I'VE READ IN YEARS! The moment you begin to read this book you can tell Ms. Brady is writing from the heart. You can virtually feel the pain she suffered through as she had her stroke and the triumphs she and her family reveled in as she fought to regain her life. She demonstrates a heroic strength that others who are facing great personal tragedy or life threatening illness could draw upon. This book is also written for the family and friends of those who are facing similar tragedies. It describes with great heartfelt eloquence how her family and friends played a critical role in her recovery. If you want learn what it's like to suffer, survive, and grow....BUY THIS BOOK. Ms. Brady is a true hero.

A well written book that touches the heart and soul
Excellent book! Donna writes an honest and forthright book of personal triumph with the support of her family, friends and others. The reader can sense what she goes through to overcome her affliction and learn how those close to her were affected. I applaud Donna's family, friends and counselor who made her journey a positive experience. I applaud Donna for being open and sharing her thoughts and hardships to better educate others. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Touching to the Heart, Enlifting to the Soul
As a motivational speaker/counselor, I had to comment on the special way this book has touched my heart. Not only has this book inspired victims of strokes but friends and family members I have been working with. It takes you inside the life and mind of a victim so that you can almost feel the experience. It's humbling, honest and very real. I would recommend this book to anyone who has survived any life threating experience along with any loves who want to understand the world in which a victim lives in.

holistic consciousness
If you are familiar with the holistic concept of health, then you know that it recognizes that all of the systems of the body must be in balance in order for the whole to work properly, that each part of the whole is connected in some way with every other part. A holistic approach to life leads us to the unavoidable conclusion that there is a oneness between the cells of our bodies, between the people who inhabit a city, between the planets and stars that inhabit the universe. What if this oneness could actually be experienced? What if it could actually be seen and felt? Imagine how differently people would treat each other if they realized that we are all part of one being? That what we do to another we are actually doing to ourselves?
I found Christ Consciousness, by Norman Paulsen, to be a wonderful book that shows us that within each one of us exists the ability to establish communication with and to experience the brilliance of an inner light, and our oneness, through this light, with all of creation.
Norman reveals the subtle nature of consciousness, as he unfolds his own journey and the evolution of Christ Consciousness that has taken place within him. Norman's search for God led him to Paramhansa Yogananda. As related in this book, his autobiography, his continued efforts produced a face to face meeting with that Being of Light called I Am That I Am, Christ. Norman was ordained by Yogananda to teach others how to experience this most wonderful meeting, and how to begin to be able to have direct communication with this Being of Light, our Creator.
If there is actually a way to establish communication (communion) with God, and realize our inherent oneness with all of the wonderful images of light and sound that dance around us, everyone and everything, who would not wish to accomplish it? Norman Paulsen's writings offer us the opportunity to become aware of the sacred forces that enable us to live from one moment to the next, and to see how to balance these forces within ourselves and within others. Paulsen shows us a glimpse of how different life could be: illness being treated by working with the underlying cosmic forces of life, buildings being built in accordance with sacred geometry, people being conscious of the connection between themselves and the earth, plants, minerals, and animals. When people realize the essential oneness of all created images, everyone will approach life in a holistic manner.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for guidance in the search for God and the understanding of the creation that surrounds us. This book is such an inspiration because it gives us all hope ... the hope that we can accomplish what Norman did ... the hope that we can find out for ourselves, beyond the shadow of any doubt, that there really is a God ... and that He is very much alive and wanting to be involved in our lives.

What A Blessing!
This is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. This book is a “must read” for anyone having chosen a conscious spiritual path and who has ever had experiences they could not explain or thought just too far out to be real. As one who taught meditation and other spiritual practices for sometime, I can tell you with confidence that aside from Yogananda’s “Autobiography of a Yogi”, nowhere else do I know of a personal account of spiritual awakening so revealing, rich, and honest. Incredibly affirming, so many of Mr. Paulsen’s experiences mirror my own -- but especially attunement to the distinctive, tranquil, inner voice -- his guiding light since birth.

In this biography, Mr. Paulsen relates his innermost spiritual experiences and adventures in a most candid and sometimes child-like way (most refreshing!) that is quite engaging and easy to read. Many spiritual biographies I have read were a bit hard to follow; either too cerebral, ungrounded, or offered in poetic and even nebulous terms leaving the reader to fill in the gaps. However, Mr. Paulsen’s account is presented in straightforward language and lends credence to the experiences each one of us may yet be destined to have or have had along the spiritual path. Most importantly, his account leaves the reader with a greater sense of oneness; offering many examples to any longer wonder at the reality of your soulful encounters. This book also contains an abundance of wonderful photographs and excellent sketches that richly illustrate his encounters that bring to life his journey in a most incredible way.

Spiritual seekers have long questioned the validity and value of their epiphanies, the purpose of their dark nights, and the meaning of their illuminations; as well as doubted the sanity of their thoughts about these on an interior level. Look no further: Mr. Paulsen covers all the bases, and then some! Once began, you won’t want this book to end. I can only hope Mr. Paulsen will choose to write a sequel since I understand he is still teaching, alive, and well.

Read this book with the open heart of a child and I dare say you shall be transformed. A true blessing for all of us!

Another Great One!
This is the third book by Donna Sterling that I've read and I loved every one of them. She keeps getting better and better. Her characters are real, her writing smooth and her story compelling. WOW! Can't wait for more.

A great book!
Temperature's Rising was such a good book I hated to put it down! Definitely a "keeper". I also loved Donna Sterling's other book, "Say Ahhh". Can't wait for her next book!

I didn't think I'd like a romance novel, but I loved it.
I've never read a romance before. I was so surprised. This book is great. I couldn't stop reading, and when it was over, I wished it wasn't. I'd love to know which other romance books are really good. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to e-mail me.

Great new book!
I enjoyed Ms. Ferguson's book very much. Not only was the plot good, original and believable, but I learned a great deal about harvesting sea urchins, a creature I am totally unfamiliar with. All in all an excellent first novel.

Don't miss this one!
Having been to Neah Bay, and knowing of the "dock business" atmosphere, this fiction seems more like a true story to me. I could not stop reading Troubled Waters and actually read the whole book in one day.

Micky is not only stubborn, she is tough and intelligent. I can't wait for the next book in Ms. Ferguson's series!

BEST SELLER!
Dont miss this one. I couldnt put it down. Donna Ferguson is sure to become a great mystery writer. I'm looking forward to the next novel.

Cold Nights, but warm hearts
Francis Ray's, "Until Christmas" is a touching novella about a young woman who not only touched the heart of the high school principal, Ethan Rawlings, but Samantha also won the hearts of Ethan's twins, Alan and Alex. Samantha, aka "Sam," was hired as a combination housekeeper, babysitter temporarily, but only until Christmas. At least, that is what Ethan told the twins and Sam, as well as himself. However, it was much too late for all of them to abide by this decision. Each was starved for the other's affections and each had become too attached to give up. The twins, not only saw Sam as their housekeeper/babysitter, but they saw her as a friend. She could play ball and was not afraid of their dog. The twins' affection went deeper still. Although they were in contact with their grandmother, they were still minus a mother figure. Sam with her winning ways, not only because she was a good cook and let them help her in the kitchen, but because it was who she was, had become special to them and they wanted her with them full time. Not only had Sam become special to them and the twins had become special to Sam, but Sam had also affected the twins' dad. Ethan's feelings for Sam were more than that of an employer, more than that of a friend. Somehow, in that short time, Sam had imbedded herself into Ethan's heart. Was he willing to allow a new love interest into his life or was he still shadowed by the deceit and experience of his ex-wife and the deceased mother of his twins. Ethan thought he had a solution to the problem when he reluctantly agreed to keep Sam, "but only until Christmas." However, love does not have a set time to go away. Therefore, until Christmas, turned out to a lifetime of love for Sam, Ethan, Alan and Alex. "Until Christmas" was the best. Way to go, Ms. Ray.

"Kwanzaa Angel" was a sweet remembrance into the past with a chance to correct the future. Erin had been hurt in the past by Raimi, who had reentered her life. Would Erin give in to her feelings that never dissolved for Raimi and become involved in a new relationship or would she revert back into the past? "Kwanzaa Angel" was about the Kwanzaa celebration, but with a twist of love for Erin and Raimi. Good story.

"'Round Midnight" was about the New Year's celebration. I loved the story of Dr. Summer Lane, the psychologist who now has a job at the radio station as a counselor on the air. Her show airs around midnight. It is at the radio station where Summer meets Tre Holland, one of the bosses. Everyone thinks Summer is a snow or ice maiden because Summer stays to herself and does not socialize with the others. However, Tre is attracted to Summer and sets out to melt the snow. Summer also has feelings for Tre and wants the ice to melt from around her heart. However, after getting together, somewhere while the ice is melting another freeze comes along and the ice around Summer's heart becomes another block of ice. Summer and Tre suffer heartship and are temporarily separated. Tre sets out to recapture Summer's love and to permanently melt the ice. He knows a new year will be approaching and is determined to be in Summer's life when the new year begins. So, he sets out around midnight to make it happen. Will Tre succeed in his endeavor? Read "'Round Midnight" and see what the New Year has in store for Summer and Tre. Great story with just the right amount of heat.

No one was cold on those "Winter Nights!"
Again my girl Ray out did herself with another great read! "Winter Nights" kept me up all night! I encourage everyone to go out and get a copy. They even have it in paperback now!

I loved it!
Winter Nights was a beautifully written book by three extremely talented authors. I really enjoyed reading the book. Ms Ray, Ms Hailstock, and Ms Hill are some of my favorite authors. They have brilliant writting styles that not just I enjoy! The novellas by the above authors are a must read. Much love to all three authors!

Great True Stories
This book is a great collection of true stories from all over the U.S. They are able to tell the real stories of medics instead of the Rescue 911 variety. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Emergency Medicine. I am glad that someone wrote a book letting everyone know that not all the patients you encounter will survive despite your best efforts..

Alot of work went into this one!
Theisen did her homework--interviewing hundreds of "angels". I have a greater respect for paramedics and Emt's now. I'm glad there are people like them in this world!

This book is more true to life than most
Having read most of the small selection of books relating to EMS.I found this book to be more true to life. In my 16 years experience the last 10 as a Paramedic. I found that I could relate to almost all the stories presented in one way or another. One thing about EMS, We like to tell our stories and listen to others tell there's.These folks did a good job at that.

A good jumpstart
I purchased this book in 1997. I did the program and I had wonderful results. I lost 20 pounds in the 10 week program (which I stretch to 14 weeks) and I did feel vibrant and strong. I did however find the program hard to maintain. It is a great place for a novice to start; an invaluable tool for those of us that have always been intimidated by exercise and fitness. Realize that the results will come and that once they do - you will have to change your plan and approach to exercise. Chris will walk you through the first 10 weeks but after that - your on your own.

65 and lovin it!
I am a senior citizen, and have always tried to watch my weight, and to tone up, not only for looking good, but also to feel good. When I discovered this book, I immediately found that it
explained every exercise in detail that I could understand, and the illustrations were exceptional. I am constantly told that I look at least 15 years younger, and this is without plastic surgery. I highly recommend this book to every age group. It's wonderful!!!

Highly motivational - it works!
If you want to get fit this is the book for you. The concept is simple and Chris & Sally detail the guidelines for the average individual to follow. Counting calories is a bit time consuming for the first 2 weeks, but after that it's second nature. The program truly works - I'm back down to my healthy weight range after only 7 weeks (and 20 lbs lighter!). But, most importantly, I feel great. This book comes highly recommended.

I loved this book when I was a kid
My mom used to read this book to us when I was a lass and I can still remember exactly how it goes from cover to cover. I'm a 25 year old grad student, and I STILL can't get the contagious, singsong rhyme scheme out of my head. One sleepless night I recited it for my fiance. This will be a book you'll remember for the rest of your life, whether you want to or not. It also contains great pictures. I especially like how she ends up with the hot guy with the bike at the end. I love Donna and I love head pats.

Excellent introduction to rhythm in poetry
I have read literally hundreds of books to my children (3 and 5) and this is one of the best we have found so far. My 5 year old is memorizing it line by line and I don't mind reading it over and over and over as the rhythms are so much fun and the rhyming is clever!

Wonderful Rhyming Rhythms
Even if the story weren's so darn cute, the rhythm of the words would have hooked my two-year-old (and me!) Kudos to Grossman and also to illustrator Truesdell who has pictured all the action so delightfully.
