I can finally paint!
I always wanted to be an artist, and with Donna's easy-to-follow techniques, I can now paint! Before, I drew rotten stick figures, but Donna had me painting like a pro in nothing flat! I have given items away as gifts, and have had requests for items! I've been concentrating on clay flower pots, but I now feel ready to branch out to bigger and better things! Thanks Donna!

Buy It! You'll thank me later! :)
One Stroke Painting is the way to go! This book is a must have!
If you ever wanted to learn to paint, here is your chance.

Beginners - you too, will produce results in no time. The instructions and illustrations are straightfoward and easy to understand. I did a rose and rosebuds on a french bucket. No one would believe I did it freehand (no pattern). I had never painted a day in my life, before buying this book.

Experienced - expand your repetoire!

Easy to follow
Great for beginners. I'm already on my fourth project and each one gets better.

Little Lords
Beautiful, gorgeous artwork. Highly recommended

Excellent Children's Book
The illustrations are great and very likeable to children. I was so pleased to give this book to my nephew for both his entertainment and for educational purposes. I have several other books written by this author and have been pleased with all of them. This is not a typical coloring book. Great job to the author.

Little Lords of the Desert
Storad and Atwood have done it again. I hope to take my Colorado kids to the desert this spring so that they can see firsthand all of the wonderful, magical things we have learned about insects and the desert. This book has engaged them and taught them in a way I rarely see in juvenile non-fiction.

Welcome to Mossy Creek
"Welcome to Mossy Creek the town you can count on ain't goin' nowhere, and don't want to" with these words you get the flavor of life in the small southern town of Mossy Creek. The people are fiesty, funny, sad, and loving. Each chapter is a different character's story. You learn the history of the dispute between Mossy Creek and the nearby town of Bigelow. Each chapter becomes a story unto itself while characters overlap occasionally in the tales. From Miss Ida, the guardian/mayor of Moss Creek who will go to jail rather than put up a new welcome sign outside of Mossy Creek (afterall it was written by a Bigelowan!) to Casey, an Olympic hopeful whose dreams are dashed while returning from her elopement, due to a car accident which leaves her paralyzed from the waist down, you will laugh and cry with the inhabitants of this marvelous town. Come on for the ride and enjoy a few moments in Mossy Creek. It is a fast read and powerful in its emotions.

Great book ....
I thoroughly enjoyed this book - lots of fun, quirky characters. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Laugh Till You Cry!
I read this book because I love Deborah Smith's work. I figured at least her stories in the book would be fantastic. I laughed so hard with the first story my husband finally asked me to share the joke. And it just got better after that. I can not wait for the next book to come out! The characters were all fun and lovable. It made me wish my small town was a wee bit smaller, Southern and full of Mossy Creekites!

Cover Up
Oh, the price of scandal and to cover it up. For Vaughn Hamilton the price was very high. It cost Vaughn to miss out on her precious child's childhood and all the memories a mother cherishes. It also almost cost Vaughn the love of a man, who would cherish her forever -- Justin Montgomery.

Vaughn's and Justin's love and life saw some rocky times, due mostly to Vaughn's father, who thought he was doing the right thing -- trying to protect Vaughn, her reputation, and her political career. But was this what Vaughn wanted? Were the choices her father made to affect her life, choices that Vaughn would have made on her own? Vaughn's life changed dramatically when she realized that her life was her own and not that of her meddlesome father. Vaughn realized she had to make choices for herself and own up to any past mistakes she had made. The choices Vaughn made would not only affect Vaughn, but also the lives of Justin, her true love, her parents, and that of her unknown child.

Scandalous is a wonderful book from the beginning to the end. After starting to read, the pages magically keep turning as the plot unfolds. Ms. Hill has definitely written another good book and its sequel, A Scandalous Affair, is just as awesome.

Keep up the good work and keep the books coming, Ms. Hill. Love ya!!

GOOD TO THE LAST DROP
Out of all the books I've read by Donna, so far, this one was my favorite. There was something happening in every page and every chapter. Not a boring moment. I couldn't put the book down.

I highly recommend this for those in lovers.

Yes, Scandalous
This is the first book that I have read by Donna Hill and after reading it I will definitely read more by her. This story was one of intrigue and while some areas were predictable others were not and were down right Scandalous.

Vaughn and Justin's love affair was one of true love with trust and distrust knocking at the same time. I could feel Vaughn's pain, anguish and confusion, but I could also feel her need for love from Justin. Justin was her knight in shining armor and he truly loved Vaughn. He helped release her pain of the past and taught her how to love again. Reading about Elliot, Vaughn's father, helped this reader understand Vaughn. Vaughn lived her father's dream at the expense of her own. Poppa Elliot was as ruthless as they come and I was totally surprised by his actions. Her mother Sheila, was a typical politician's wife who assisted in keeping secrets at the expense of her daughter's love and devotion.

Donna Hill writes very descriptively and you can see and feel the emotions with every turn of the page. The storyline was great with enough drama to keep your interest until the end. Now I'm ready to begin A Scandalous Affair. I loved this book and it will go down as one of my favorite reads.

Hot Blooded Hero, warm hearted heroine
Donna Sterling has done it again...won my heart to her characters. I adored Cole--who wouldn't--but I thought Tess a warm, yet honorable woman who knew her own heart and did not let anyone mess with her head. Brava, Ms. Sterling!

Emotional Explosion
TOO many times, a female writer, writing from a feminine perspective, gets caught up in her lady characters though a slight foray into the man's emotional make-up is expected. I was absolutely blown away by Cole, the perceived "playboy," and the gut-wrenching emotions he dug out of himself and even me. His passion is incredible, his outpowering of love, devotion, and fidelity balances a trembling fear that after learning to love for the first time, he might not be able to keep the woman he never knew he wanted. Wonderful book! It completely wrung me ragged.

Delightful
Donna Sterling's books keep getting better and better. She writes with charm and grace, creating characters the reader can't help but enjoy. Above all that, Ms. Sterling has a strong and real understanding of how to create a wonderful romance. Delightful!

Helped me diffuse my angry feelings
Let me begin by saying there isn't a book by Susan Forward that isn't very helpful in making you understand what the problem really is and how to make it better. Her book on verbal abuse was so excellent. I think I have read ALL of her books. What makes this book great is that she gives numerous examples of different couples and their in-law problems so there is a very good probability you will find your specific problem in the book. The strategies given are ones you may not have even considered in your frustration of dealing with your obnoxious self centered in law(s). I was very angry before I read this, now I'm just mildly amused. I won't be controlled with my own resentments/emotions any more. Susan will help you understand their ... little world of either not being able to "share" the love, or whatever unresolved mess is in their minds, so you wont/dont take it personally.

This book is incredibly good, highly recommended
Susan Forward has written a fantastic book. She really understands and has great insights and solutions. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

I can't understand why this brilliant book didn't make it to the best seller list.

If you have in-law problems, this one is for you.
From the first chapater of this book, I knew I had grabbed the right one. This book has helped explain the different changes that have happened in my life and how to get them back on track. Taking you step by step on those changes the book will tell you the flat truth. Examples with stories and example things to say, help out a lot in the beganning! Goodluck with your in-law problems and get this book!

Excellent
This is a comprehensive encyclopedia of needlepoint, embroidery, and cross-stitch stitches. Each stitch is shown from both the front and the back of the fabric. Color illustrations shown how to make the stitch, step-by-step, with brief directions included just beneath the illustration. This book also includes projects for each area, as well as a brief history of needlecraft and a listing of supplies and tools. Although the book is slightly oversized and a little difficult to handle, it is an excellent reference source and worth the extra effort.

Great Book!
This book is well stocked with information! Many sample projects included as well as a separate guide in the back of the book for all kinds of stitches. Very easy to follow. Invaluable.

AN EXCELLENT REFERENCE GUIDE!!
I teach a needlwork program at an arts & crafts store that is a part of a national chain. This book covers everything under the sun and then some. My students love it and the patterns that are included are great.
I highly recommmend this book to anyone who is interested in any type of needlework; it will teach you things you've never even seen before!

Eyes of Sophia : A Dream Come True

Learn How to Live a Dream-Come-True
This book is a deliciously suspenseful true love story that describes how Donna May met the man of her dreams, Alan Chien. While we know from the start where this love story will end, we don't know how two people from such different walks of life who don't know one another can recognize each other after their first chance meeting.

Told alternately from Donna's and Alan's point of view, this story demonstrates the way synchronicity operates in real life. Donna enters the story as an experienced healer, energy worker, and dream interpreter who is learning to better understand how to communicate with spirit. Alan just begins to discover these things as he witnesses first-hand the way Donna's waking dreams have real-life significance, and begins to find meaning in coincidental happenings in his life as well. Both Donna and Alan discover a deeper sense of love and connection between each other and all that is, as they learn to trust their hearts and spirits to guide their lives.

When I meet couples for the first time, I almost always ask them, "How did you two get together?", because I love to glimpse the way the spirit behind physical things pulls us closer to those we need at just the right time in our life. "Eyes of Sophia" shares these gifts of spirit with us as it opens and reveals a world of interpreting dream symbols, physical pain in our bodies, coincidences and synchronicities. This book shows how even the occasional disappointments and set-backs along the way have meaning, and are part of the grand design of life. I love the way this book effectively demonstrates how the more closely we observe the details (names, articles, dates, songs), the more meaningful our own life story can become. Donna May and Alan Chien's autobiographical tale is exactly the kind of sign-post people need to find the spiritual meaning behind coincidences in their lives, and learn how to live a dream-come-true.

Follow Your Heart
Spirituality is something of which I have always been skeptical. Because I don't know much about it, apart from organized religion as it pertains to Christianity, I approached this book with a certain amount of dubiousness. I was determined to view it in an entirely objective manner. I am still unsure about the subject matter to an extent, but one thing is certain. It is not possible to read "Eyes of Sophia" without being pulled right in to the heart of the story.

This is the true, non-fiction tale of Alan, a retired art teacher, and Donna, a massage therapist and healer. Unknown to each other, and unbeknownst to each other, they both asked for direction and opened themselves up to spiritual guidance at critical times in their lives.

Donna's utilitarian question and subsequent dream led her on a quest. During this search she met Alan - a chance meeting which would turn out to be not coincidental at all. For it was revealed to Donna that Alan was the crux of her search - he was, metaphorically, the Tin Man, and it was Donna's altruistic purpose to help him find his heart. This in turn resulted in photographs of Donna in which confirming images were manifest. Among them, the eyes of Sophia. Donna's dream had come to fruition.

The ideology in this book comes from many different areas of spiritualism and religion. For me, this was a colossal learning experience.

What struck me most throughout the story were the synchronicities; not mere coincidences, but parallels between Donna's discoveries and Alan's life. There were so many of these on myriad levels, simultaneously chaotic and structured. It was incredible to learn that different events and occurrences are actually connected, and consolidate to form a big picture. Just when you think the various threads are too many and too unrelated, they are all pulled together and make perfect sense. The closed mind could never see these, but when pointed out they are obvious. It has inspired me to become more alert for synchronicity in my own life: there is much I may already have missed by not being aware. If Donna had not been so vigilant and acted directly on her true feelings, she may never have found Alan, and then he may never have found his heart. Two people would then have missed a chance at becoming their "authentic selves".

"Eyes of Sophia" is stimulating, intriguing, and at times pleasantly puzzling. Although a spiritual book, it offers benefit for all. This journey of two people is shared philanthropically to encourage, to inspire, and to affirm that it is indeed possible to find your heart.

Eyes of Sophia: A Dream Come True
In this book, Donna May and Alan Chien have shared the very interesting, unusual means by which they found each other, and what they learned from signposts along the way. In the process, the reader is presented with evidence of universal principles at work beyond our own intellect, that give form to the nature of unfolding events that we experience throughout our lives.

Relationships are among the most important alchemical caldrons of the soul, where we come to understand universal truths about ourselves, and realize the integration between the intellectual aspect of self and the spiritual nature of self. These truths, preserved also throughout centuries of mythological stories, go beyond personal opinion and religious or cultural dogma; they reveal to us directly and individually the true spirituality behind all life. Among many universal principles involved, philosophers have also provided written explanations. Jacob Boehme wrote long ago of his concept of counterpoise between good and evil, and Benedict Spinoza of his view of the organic interdependence in the necessity for all life. The choices that we make are choices that ideally are considered the "best for all concerned." However, "right" in one's judgment may be considered "wrong" to another, but as life unfolds, we see that what manifests is not necessarily what we would call "good or bad", and may be simply "necessary" for all concerned, all known and unknown matters considered.

Eyes of Sophia is about the Light of knowledge expressing through material conditions, providing important signposts uniquely meaningful to us, that help us to use wisdom in making appropriate choices affecting not only ourselves, but others, too. In following the way of the heart - Donna sees her significant dreaming experiences transcended as they are mirrored as synchronicities in reality. Also, "Tin Man" sings, "cause never was the reason;" of this, Alan realizes, "We seem to want to manipulate the lines of intention building our lives, but we can only follow their lead and choose within whatever is presented." In our dance of counterpoise with life's experiences, two intertwining threads make and remake our destiny: life's "Hermetic" reason for what we experience on Earth, and the choices we make while personally applying our own "reason" into the mix.

This would be an excellent "primer" for those who want to read metaphysics in action that goes beyond philosophical and theoretical treatises, into manifested reality. Eyes of Sophia is an easy to read documentation of Donna's and Alan's real life blueprint from a dream, to Love's union.
