Ida's review
Forgotten was one of the best romance books I've read. It kept me interested so much that I could not lay the book down. The suspense kept me riveted to it, always getting the unexpected. I enjoyed the way the book was romantic yet very clean and appropriate without over sexualizing so that a very varied audience can enjoy the book. The lean toward a christian family relationship was unmistakable and this book has become an important part of my collection.

WONDERFUL Story!
Forgotten was one of the most heart warming stories that I've ever read. It brought me to tears many, many, times.

My interest was peaked from the first page, and I couldn't put the book down.

The author brings the characters to life, and makes them seem as real as the people in your life. When the secret of her amnesia is revealed, and the other conflicts with her family your heart breaks.

It is riveting, inpspiring, and touching beyond words. There's even some diamond smuggling, and believe me, it keeps you on the edge of your seat!

If you want to be uplifted to new levels you must purchase Forgotten. You won't regret it. I even donated my copy to a girls home in the area. I was so inspired by the story that I felt the need to pass it on!

I look forward to reading more of Donna Congers work!

A story to make you. . . feel.
A wonderful story of inspiration and caring that you won't be able to put down, until the final moment when it all comes together. Don't miss this book!

Especially for Tundra-Tami
A very special friend gave this book to me. As her friendship is truly a blessing from God, the words of this book seem to come straight from my own heart. I have been blessed by her generosity and love, she is uniquely wonderful and truly my special "friend of the heart."

This is a book for anyone who has or would like to cultivate a special Friend of the Heart. I'll treasure this book as I treasure her special friendship. "My Friend, I thank my God in all of my remembrance of you, and praise Him for the way He shows His love to me through friends like you."

heart warming
I found this book to be really heart warming and practical. If only all friendships could be like this, but this book gives lots of practical and helpful advice to help us to get towards these kinds of friendships. Well done to Emilie and Donna- two of my favourite authors together. A must read for women today.

A treasured gift
My best friend gave this to me on my birthday- it has become one of my favorite books, not only because it is about "Best Friends" but also because the message within the book carried so much meaning. I recommend this beautifully written book for anyone who shares a special friendship, a soul mate, kindred spirits.. as you read the book- you can't resist picking up the phone to share the information with your best friend, and agree whole heartidly that it hit home!

naked and unashamed family history
This family history is told in a voice devoid of self-pity. Her dry humour makes light of her difficult childhood, yet at the time adds more tragedy. This is a brave first novel. She draws the complex life of her father with grace, constantly battling between feelings of contempt and sympathy towards her father as well as her mother. I've heard she has a new novel in progress and I can't wait to get a hold of it.

A captivating Novel
The novel, Hindsight, is captivating and deserving of 5 stars for its intensity and ability to grab the reader from the opening pages. I empathized with the novel's "narrator" and the tale of her childhood and coming of age. The sketches of the characters and events were written with such passion, yet such clarity that at times I felt as if I were being told a story rather than reading a novel for myself. Mrs. Balfe's ability to convey with feeling and intelligence the mood of a person, as well as the mood of a particular time and place is a joy to experience. The only detraction for me was the few (very few) places in which strong language was used, but because it accurately reflected the moment it was not inappropriate. Treat yourself to this wonderful novel!

COMING TO TERMS
HINDSIGHT by Donna Balfe is written with her heart's blood. It is more than a memoir. It is an exercise in exorcism. An attempt to free herself of the anger she carried for a lifetime toward her blind, alcoholic father. It is as compelling and page turning as mystery novel.
The most remarkable thing about the book, is that she spent so much of her life in misery and anger because of this man who was her father, but the book is a love story. A story of how much he loved her and her sister and her mother in spite of his demons. And how much, under all the pain, she loved him. That is what makes it so heart-breaking and compassionate.
She uses restraint in describing the details of the nights of drunken rage and destruction, but the damage it did to her as a child and daughter is tangible. It is no surprise that she follows her father into the blurred world of alcoholism. But she draws her father up from all that and shows the reader his charm, his brilliant engineering skills, his musical talent, his gift with people. She shows us too, her mother's unquenchable love for this difficult man, despite her own failures and weaknesses.
It is said, "if you can go into the pain you can go through it." It's evident that the courage to write this book helped free the author. I feel it may well help others who have suffered like wounds to find the path of forgiveness and release, as well.

Will keep your attention as you feel like you are there!
This was an easy book to read, associate with each of the characters and relate to the changing scenes - almost to the point where you begin to feel a part of the story yourself. This may be the case as I was born and continue to live in RI and can relate to all of the places mentioned.
The story was detailed to the point that it drew me in and held my attention - making me read more and more.
Even now that I have completed the book, its enthralling my mind causing me to have flash thoughts of events that occurred in the book and feeling like the story is continuing to unfold, like the characters are people I know.
I hope to see MORE from this author - she has my attention!

a great read
The House on Benefit Street is my favorite book this year. I loved the characters and the setting. As someone who does not live in Providence, this book has made me want to visit. The author definitely captured my imagination.

Great book for many reasons
I loved this book. It was an easy read and the main characters were people that are easy to relate to. The story was deep yet easy to follow and the author's descriptions were very vivid without being overdone. In my opinion a good book is one that I can't put down and this certainly qualifies. If you like suspense, drama, mystery, and a bit of humor, then get this book!

The best How-To Book on Reading Charts
I've been reading charts since the 1960s and still found much to savor in this book. Cunningham is a master of sorting out the important from the background noise.

The more we learn and the more astrological factors we know about, the more complex it can become to read a chart. Cunningham takes us back to the basics in a way that brings new richness to every chart you will read.

Thanks Donna!

best on astrology
Very glad i have this book! Helped me very much to learn more about astrology! Thanks Donna!

A brilliant book when you're ready to integrate
I was reluctant to buy Donna's book. My bookshelves are already overflowing with astrology books - many of them unread. But I was captured by her premise. "If you have been practicing for a year and don't feel comfortable reading an actual horoscope, then this is the book you need!" I still get the stunned deer look when confronting a chart for the first time. I start trying to dig through remembrances of past cookbooks I have read. Donna's anti-cookbook approach teaches you how to reason astrologically so you can deduce the delineations yourself. It is not a primer. You need to have the basics firmly in hand that you learned in the cookbooks. What she does is show you how to cut through the clutter, find and read the essential themes in the chart. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who has studied astrology for a while and is ready to consolidate their book learning into more easy, flowing interpretations.

I loved this book, it was exactly what I was looking for!
This is the best career resource I have ever read. It was packed with detailed information and resources about medical transcription, setting up a business, taxes, education - you name it. I found it all in this book. The authors tell it like it is and are clearly are keeping abreast of the industry trends and they live and breathe their topic. I highly recommend this book to potential MTs, MT students, and seasoned MTs. There is something to learn for everyone here! Thank you for this outstanding resource! KM, South Lake Tahoe.

verygood
nice ,nice, very nic

Dynamic reference packed full of a wealth of information.
This has to be the most comprehensive resource written about a career field in which very little information was available. These authors just get better and better, and this, the third edition has to be the best yet. They know their topic inside out and provide up-to-date resources about the medical transcription field. I can't think of anything they have left out! I refer this reference to everyone I talk to about Medical Transcription...there is no other resource that compares to this one. Thank you authors for this outstanding career guide that has helped so many people launch their careers in medical transcription.

Sailing the Sea of Dreams
In this little charmer the beautiful illustrations and the spritely lyrics that form the text share in the making of magic in equal proportion. Go along with Jennifer as she and her rabbit, a turtle, a kangaroo and seventeen monkeys from the city zoo take a wonderful journey o'er land and sea along the mysterious coasts of dreamland. The jaunty rhythm of the lyrics builds an atmosphere of adventure and fun while the pure poetry of the dreamy words sweeps us along with the action. The pictures are filled with waves, sea spray, pearly foam, glittering stars, castles and sailing ships with red sails. Tucked under cozy covers with this lovely story dancing in their hearts, little sleepy-heads will be off to dreamland themselves in no time! I love this book!

Totally Enchanting!
Jennifer's rabbit runs away one night and she chases after it with the help of her other stuffed animals. They follow the rabbit through the woods and on to a moonlit beach where they all stop long enough to build a beautiful sand castle. Next it's off to sail on a red sailed ship with a crew of friendly pirates. This is a gentle story told in verse. The BEAUTIFUL watercolor paintings of the very talented Elizabeth Miles, alone, make this book worth the price you pay for it. It will delight every child and make grown- ups wish they were children again!

Wonderful Children's Book
This is one of my favorite books, i recived it when i was a little girl, and loved it ever since. It was the first book i learned to read and brightened my imagination. If this book is ever reprinted i would do anything to get it again!

Don't become complacent in your safety
This helpful, easy-to-read book is a great reminder that our and our family's personal safety is our own responsibility. There are many, many ideas for ways to improve your safety and that of your children; ideas and behaviors that can, with a little practice, become second nature.

This book will help you become a proactive participant in your safety and the safety of those you love.

Finally!
Keepsafe collects realistic, non-frightening safety tips in one, easy-to-read book. The format is perfect for our "time-crunched" lives; each chapter is only a few pages long.

Each idea and suggestion is understandable and logical for our everyday lives. The authors' experience and backgrounds in public safety are impressive, and while I'm certain that they have dealt with safety issues we can't begin to comprehend, this collection of safety practices is not overly complex or difficult. In fact, the tone is nicely conversational.

This book is an interesting, practical, understandable and all-encompassing guide to being safer and keeping our families safer. Thank you to the 2 dedicated safety professionals for putting it all in one place.

Everyone should read this book!
The unfortunate thing about "common sense is that it's so common it is often taken for granted. That is precisely what this book will prevent. I don't know how many times it happened but as I read this book I found myself repeatedly saying to myself, "What a great idea!" The suggestions in this book are current, realistic, and easy to apply. Things like having your child carry one of your business cards on his or her person, or getting to know by name the bus driver who takes your child to school each day. They are simple, plain, and the kinds of things that will prevent the sort of tragedy that results in one saying "If I'd only done this..." Beyond that, the suggestions are not the kinds of things that will keep you locked behind closed doors. There's nothing paranoid here. Just common sense. "Keep Safe" is well written and easy to read. It has clearly been well researched by two authors who have spent their careers in the field of public safety. Having been in the law enforcement field for eleven years myself, I recommend "Keep Safe" to anyone who wants to live more safely, and thus more fully, in a dangerous world.

Like Color to the Blind

A powerful tale of love and humanity
Before I read this book I didn't know anything about autism, and I didnt even realize what the auther's mental condition was until a fair way into the book. I happened to pick up this book at the library (catchy title, I guess), and loved it. This is not so much a story about autism, but rather a painfully personal account of the difficulties involved in sharing a life with another human being.

Finding and laboriously sticking to the true self.
"Like Color to the Blind" is the third book by Donna Williams, after "Nobody Nowhere" and "Somebody Somewhere" but it could easily stand by itself. Donna, who is autistic, puts forth an amazing effort to break through the socially acceptable masks that she had grown in order to relate to society. She is in a relationship with a man who has similar problems, and they help each other as much as they can. A very important part of this book is the account of Irlen filters, tinted lenses that reduce the many symptoms of visual overload. Anyone who has thought about obtaining these lenses should read this, as it is a very eloquent account of these problems and their disappearance. The author, though going through understandable rough periods, seems to put all of her free effort into retaining who she is. I could use any number of cliche's here (touching, great read, etc) but I will just say that I loved this book and I hope that other people will, too.

A must read for anyone new to the world of relationships.
Having a relationship of any kind can be a journey that takes you to places never before experienced. Add to that relationship another component, as in this case, autism, and you will see just how difficult and joyful the journey can be. Donna Williams in her previous books explains her struggles with autism, and this time she has mapped out for us what having a loving, trusting relationship is all about. For those of us who take our relationships with others seriously, this book will cause you to take a second look and see there is room for improvement on that journey to experiencing the fullest of what being a "couple" means
