The book is a monster in size and in the amount of information it presents. It documented and footnoted to a degree that one would expect from a work of this nature.
I highly suggest it to anyone who wants to find out about the history of modern Israel and how the wolrd powers did what they do best, exploit. I truly learned much!
While the content is great, the presentation is well thought out too: the calendar works. It stands on its own, it's compact, pages turn easily, and the graphics are simple and tasteful. It works in home or office and the price is right.
I ordered several calendars thinking I would give them away for the holidays. When they arrived, I liked it so much I decided I had to give one to my husband so we'd have one at home. Although my husband and I just put it out on January 1, I know we're going to enjoy it...perpetually! I heartily recommend this as a gift for friends and colleagues, but get one for yourself too!

This is a charming story about a mouse who discovers he can sing, in the process saving his sibling mice from the cat in the house and becoming the companion of elderly Mrs. Honeybee who teaches Wolf new songs on her piano.
It's a simple and appealing story line, but I applaud Dick King-Smith for tackling two subjects not usually found in children's literature. On the one hand he skillfully interweaves musical terms and concepts, and on the other hand he paints a sympathetic portrait of the life of an elderly widow living alone.
This delightful tale should be welcome in the home of musical families or where children need a glimpse into the life of a lonely senior citizen. The adult readers of this story will have many private chuckles over the tunes Mrs. Honeybee chooses to teach her singing mouse: everything from the Beatles' "Help!" to showtunes such as "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'."
A Mouse Called Wolf is a great story! Wolf's real name is Wolfgang Amadeus. Wolf lives with his mother and twelve other children in a mouse hole in the house of Mrs. Honeybee. In the book he learns how to sing, the songs are really cute. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes animal stories and funny stories. In the book Wolf composes a song. The book is easy to read. I really liked reading this book! By: Laura

The story itself is epic and very memorable, the characters are deep, and the landscapes and customs are very well described. Right from the start, I became very attached to the main characters, and even to less important ones.
I've already read the first in the series ("Daughter of The Red Deer"), which was excellent, but I loved this one even better. Now I can't wait to read the third book! ("The Reindeer Hunters".) I wish Joan Wolf had written more than just 3 prehistory novels -- she's very good at it!
Anyway, I highly recommend anyone into prehistory novels to get this one from Amazon's Marketplace, or any used book store. Well worth it!

Fairhaven's long stretch between deadly crimes ends when someone murders Sally Jastrow while she participated in a government sponsored medical experiment. The case is virtually a closed door mystery that means either an insider, or a computer whiz who could overcome the lock codes, had to do the crime. Sheriff Alan Schneider and Captain Toni Ashcroft of Air Force security investigate the murder. As they make their inquiries, a strong attraction develops between them. However, first they must solve an ugly killing that has threads reaching back to the child's murder over a quarter of a century ago.
David Wolf has written an entertaining contemporary closed door who-done-it. The numerous viable suspects leave readers struggling to select the culprit. The police procedural also includes a strong romance that Mr. Wolf fully integrates with the main story line. Reminiscent of the powerful works of Sandra Brown, KING OF INFINITE SPACE has cross-genre appeal that romance and mystery readers will find quite enjoyable.

What an ending! In my heart I always figured it would turn out the way it did, but the final act actually moved me to tears. In the climactic end, the authors have not only brought their series full circle, they have made a comment on the state of bushido in history at that time. Its hard to write a review of this without giving it away - all I can say is this series must be collected and read from the very beginning to fully appreciate its scope and power. But it IS worth it.
As always, the art is staggering and the minimalist dialogue perfectly suited. There has never been anything like Lone Wolf and Cub.
This final installment revolves around the showdown between Ogami & Daigoro and their nemesis, Retsudo Yagyu. Yagyu brings the final remnants of his "Grass" (Deep-cover Ninja who spend generations infiltrating villages in Japan) to the battlefield, and employs a truly insidious deception against Itto (Which I won't spoil!); I studiously avoided any situation that may have resulted in my discovering the end of the series before I got a chance to read it, and although I had a general idea of how the final battle would play out, I was still moved to tears at the final twenty pages.....
If you haven't experienced any of the Lone Wolf and Cub series, I can't recommend them highly enough. I've been reading comics since I was two years old, and I have NEVER read such a finely wrought story; It ranks among my favorite works of fiction, right alongside Lonesome Dove and The Stand, and that's pretty damned impressive.......
Marsha skillfully weaves the incredible story of bringing Matt to trial (as seen on Court TV and Dateline NBC) and the anguish of her grief in losing her only child. As a bereaved parent, I related so strongly with Marsha (Ann.) Her words gave voice to my own grief journey. If you are a parent, bereaved or not, this book is a must-read.
