A must-read for all parents
Marsha Willis is a gifted writer. Her skill with the written word makes "The Ethan Chronicles" truly a work of literary nonfiction. It is written in third person voice (Marsha calls herself Ann) and one feels he or she is reading fiction. Ann's son Ethan is killed in an accident when he is hit broadside by a young man, "Matt," who has a "mile long" rap sheet of run-ins with law enforcement officials. Somehow, over the years, Matt has managed to escape conviction on many of the charges such as: "Charge of underage alcohol possession is dismissed because the original ticket has disappeared." In essence, he is consequently allowed to continue his reckless driving habits, which eventually result in Ethan's death. As loophole after loophole delays the trial, the reader wonders if Matt will ever be held accountable for his actions, especially in the death of Ethan.

Marsha skillfully weaves the incredible story of bringing Matt to trial (as seen on Court TV and Dateline NBC) and the anguish of her grief in losing her only child. As a bereaved parent, I related so strongly with Marsha (Ann.) Her words gave voice to my own grief journey. If you are a parent, bereaved or not, this book is a must-read.

No Greater Inspiration!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2001. Last year was a year consumed by surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments -- BUT it was another year of the gift of life. Thank you, Marsha, for touching my life and my heart with the reinforcement that every day is precious and to be enjoyed -- never to be taken for granted. Your courage, honest emotion and "recovery" are an inspiration to me! Ethan smiles down on us all!

Extremely Thought Provoking
Marsha did an amazing thing in this book. She took the most unbearable event possible and walked me through it with her, allowing me to believe that one CAN make it to the other side of this kind of tragedy. I was impressed that the journey was an enlightenment, and in no way morbid or prurient. I loved the way the story brought up one viewpoint after another, of an incredibly complex situation. This was one of the most thought-provoking books I have recently read.

A review from the frontlines, Kuwait
The Gatekeepers was awesome! It is a well written book-a good job of illustrating Christian buisiness leadership principles. I enjoyed reading it. It was also a good conversation stater with other soldiers. Excellent job Nate Wolf!

Mindset for the successes you desire
Nate Wolf's book "The Gatekeepers" will inspire any reader to think outside the box for successes and challenges we all face in today's demanding culture. We are hit from all directions to just fit into the mold that society dictates. We are taught that it's okay to work hard to get where we want in life. What of you were to have the mindset that "Givers are Getters"?
You won't be disappointed with this read, and if applied you will reap rewards that for many are unimaginable without a shift in thinking.

A must read!!!
This teaching has been lacking in the church for far too long. Nate explains the ministry of helps and the anointing that is on some business people to fund the spreading of the gospel. There are many businessmen and women who need to hear this teaching. If you always felt a conflict between your desire to succeed in business and your role in the church, get this book! Understanding the relationship between those called to be in the marketplace and those called to ministry will dramatically help the church move forward in this season.

new approach
At long last someone has come up with a new slant to WWII history. It is refreshing to find that after 55 years or so has passed an author can yet teach us something new about history, which can captivate, can sometimes even excite, and definitely can entertain.

stupendous
I had no expectations when I started this novel. I had wanted to try an unknown author. WAS I SURPRISED! At every turn of the plot my attention was captured, the read was fast paced, and the descriptions made me feel as if I were there.

Fantabulous
I was stunned by the creativity and descriptiveness of the writer. His remarkable grammar and way of writing leaves you interested the whole time. He is the next J.K. Rowling by the level of interest that he provides in his book. Congratualations, you are a wiz of an author.
Sicerely,
An extremely happy reader

>~~~Read it - i dare you~~~<
Perfect for wolf-lovers and non wolf-lovers alike. It really makes you see wolves from a different perspective. You CANT end up hating wolves after reading this, its impossible. I mean, it also makes you more aware of the problems wolves are facing now. Do you know that wolves are endangered? Most people think of giant pandas when they think about a poor, endangered species. I think that is why people can just be so terrible to wolves - they dont know enough aobut them. I have two simple word to say about this book: read it.

Local History
I currently live along the Little Missouri River just a few miles from the actual location for the setting of this book. I have successfully used this book in my elementary classroom in a whole language unit on wolves. There is much "local lore" about this story that echos the life of the wolf named "Three Toes". It is excellent reading for not only adults, but also our young adults. It tells the story from the wolf's point of view.

If you are a wolf lover, this is an excellent book for you!
The Last Wolf is an excellent book. It is well written and has an gripping plot. This book is a great book for teenagers. However, if you are an animal or wolf lover, this book is for you. The author, Gary Enright, has a wonderful gift for writing. He describes everything in great detail and therefore the book is very colorful. The Last Wolf takes place in the early 1900s. It is about an extraordinary wolf's struggle against man and their efforts to annihilate his species. The wolf's name is Waken. This wolf does everything in his power during his lifetime to protect his species from humans who wish to destroy all wolves. Waken takes a vengeful course of action to get back at the humans, brutal as it may appear. However, because of all the things that humans have done to Waken and his wolf pack, like catching members of the pack in traps, poisoning their food, and hunting down the pack and then shooting those who did not get away, his action was appropriate. He fights these humans for survival for his family, those he loves and himself. This book is the story of Waken's entire extraordinary life. The author of this book has a wonderful gift of writing. He has the ability to get inside a wolf's head without making the animal human. Because he has this wonderful gift, there is dialog in the book, even though the wolves are only communicating through body language. It is up to the reader to imagine the wolves doing this and not talking. This book is wonderfully well written, and is sure to grab anyone into it right away.

Lone Wolf: A Biography of Vladimir (Ze'Ev) Jabotinsky
Published in Hardcover by Barricade Books (01 March, 1996)
Authors: Shmuel Katz and Samuel Katz
Amazon base price: $100.00
Average review score:

An Amazing book
Reading this book is a great intelectual adventure. There are a lot of information and the author has a very clear and envolving writing, always creating expectative over what's coming next. The author also mixes narrative with a lot of opinions and analysis about the facts. There are, as well, many quottings from other works about Jobotinsky, along with several transcriptions of classified official documents that shed light into controversial facts. The author is not afraid of polemics and gives new perspectives over matters treated as tabu, like Ben Gurion, Weizman, The Zionist Organization and the Histadrut. Much enfasis is given to Jabotinsky's unstopabble fight for the jewish rights in palestine and abroad, as well as his unfearing steadfastness against anyone who denied the goal of creating a jewish state. The book will give a complete understanding of the Revisionist movement, the British Rule in Israel, the internal Zionist Organization politics and its blunders, the arab behavior, among others. By reading this book you will also be able to better understand contemporary israeli politics and the relationship with the arab countries. The book, although very pleasant, takes quite a bit to be read, but it is a must for anyone who wants to know one of the greatest zionist and jewish leaders ever and get into the politics of the pre-state period.

History as it was being made
This book is a real eye opener. It completly changed my perspective on the history of the Middle East and how the British, who so often have come accross as the "white knight" was in fact the dirty thief.

The book is a monster in size and in the amount of information it presents. It documented and footnoted to a degree that one would expect from a work of this nature.

I highly suggest it to anyone who wants to find out about the history of modern Israel and how the wolrd powers did what they do best, exploit. I truly learned much!

A great book about a great man
Zeev (meaning wolf, in hebrew) Jabotinsky was one of the greatest leaders ever, and the greatest liberal Zionist leader. His works can not be denied. Because of his many deeds, he was admired by many - and hated by the rest. And he is the subject of this book, like many other books and articles. But this one is special - the auther spent 7 years of his life reserching and writing it, and those seven years have beared fruit. The writing is of a very high quality, and the contence is extensive. Itws like no other book about Jabotinsky I know. After reading, you will enrich not only your mind - but also your spirit, by knowing this great man. Highly recomended, for all people - Zionists, students, and anyone seeking pure knolage and feeding.

Make It a Winning Life Perpetual Calendar

A calendar for your next 10 years.
At first I thought "why am I getting this in February, I've already missed a whole month's of advice!" And then I opened it! It is a never-ending calendar, applicable in year 2000 and in year 2010. What a useful tool for personal development, with new and fresh quotations, as well as "food for thought" from the masters. Action steps on each page prompt the thoughts and deeds necessary for success and fulfillment. The only way to start the day!

Every day help for your lasting success
This is a GREAT calendar! Every day it's something different--humor, wisdom, poetry, advice, inspiration. The variety keeps me engaged and looking forward to the message each day. The action step with each page provides a missing link and reminds me to get moving on changes in my life.

While the content is great, the presentation is well thought out too: the calendar works. It stands on its own, it's compact, pages turn easily, and the graphics are simple and tasteful. It works in home or office and the price is right.

I ordered several calendars thinking I would give them away for the holidays. When they arrived, I liked it so much I decided I had to give one to my husband so we'd have one at home. Although my husband and I just put it out on January 1, I know we're going to enjoy it...perpetually! I heartily recommend this as a gift for friends and colleagues, but get one for yourself too!

Inspirations from Leaders and Legends
The Perpetual Calendar is a thought provoking collection of inspiration and instruction for practical, daily living. The Perpetual Calendar was given to employees as holiday gifts. One employee stated that he could not put it down...he read the whole year on the first day! Other Calendar recipients were family and party hostesses. Everyone agreed it was a great gift that lasts! The daily quote and complementary action step is read everyday at work. It is uplifting, positive, and a great way to start the day.

Warm hearts
Dick King-Smith writes another fabulous book. This wonderful story of friendship and heroes is an inspiration to people of all ages. It speaks about friendship, family and aspiring to do your best. As always the characters come to life and become the readers new best friend.

A charming children's story about music and aging
I read "A Mouse Called Wolf" after several students in the elementary school where I am the librarian urged me to read it. They told me I'd love it and they were right!

This is a charming story about a mouse who discovers he can sing, in the process saving his sibling mice from the cat in the house and becoming the companion of elderly Mrs. Honeybee who teaches Wolf new songs on her piano.

It's a simple and appealing story line, but I applaud Dick King-Smith for tackling two subjects not usually found in children's literature. On the one hand he skillfully interweaves musical terms and concepts, and on the other hand he paints a sympathetic portrait of the life of an elderly widow living alone.

This delightful tale should be welcome in the home of musical families or where children need a glimpse into the life of a lonely senior citizen. The adult readers of this story will have many private chuckles over the tunes Mrs. Honeybee chooses to teach her singing mouse: everything from the Beatles' "Help!" to showtunes such as "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'."

Lookng for A Mouse Called Wolf
A Mouse Called Wolf By: Dick King - Smith

A Mouse Called Wolf is a great story! Wolf's real name is Wolfgang Amadeus. Wolf lives with his mother and twelve other children in a mouse hole in the house of Mrs. Honeybee. In the book he learns how to sing, the songs are really cute. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes animal stories and funny stories. In the book Wolf composes a song. The book is easy to read. I really liked reading this book! By: Laura

One of the best books I have ever read
As a history major, i spend a lot of my time trying to find decent historical fiction that I can read and tell other people about. I love this book. When I first read The Clan of The Cave Bear when i was 10, i thought that no book could be better than that. Joan Wolf's books (all of the historical fiction ones) are almost as good. I first read Daughter of the Red Deer when iwas 13 and loved it and since then have been looking for anything theat she has written. The Horsemasters is by far my favourite. The characters are so vivid and how can you not love Nel and Ronan? I highly recommend it and any of Joan Wolf's other books to anyone that is interested in Pre-historical novels. there just aren't enough out there, but these are keepers.

One of the greatest prehistory novels!
As an avid reader of prehistory novels, I can tell that this one is one of the best I've ever read! It's a pity that is it out of print!

The story itself is epic and very memorable, the characters are deep, and the landscapes and customs are very well described. Right from the start, I became very attached to the main characters, and even to less important ones.

I've already read the first in the series ("Daughter of The Red Deer"), which was excellent, but I loved this one even better. Now I can't wait to read the third book! ("The Reindeer Hunters".) I wish Joan Wolf had written more than just 3 prehistory novels -- she's very good at it!

Anyway, I highly recommend anyone into prehistory novels to get this one from Amazon's Marketplace, or any used book store. Well worth it!

PS: What happened to Siguna?

WOW!!! This changes my life!
Oh my gash!!! This is the most amazing prehistoric novel ever. I learned so much about the goings on of Cro-Magnon Magdellenians by reading this book. In fact I wrote a ten page research essay based off of information i learned in this book.... It also has a thrilling plot and lusty scenes that made rainy afternoons a little more exciting for me....If you are looking for adventure and romance mixed with deer skin and skull cups then don't miss the Horsemasters...scourge of the world!!!!

A 4+. A real find!
The quite town of Fairhaven, Ohio has little crime and that is mostly confined to an occasional DUI or bar fight. The biggest crime to rock the town occurred twenty-five years ago when Samantha Baxter disappeared at a Fourth of July celebration. Her body was found many years later in the John's Fairhaven Caverns, but the case remains open even today.

Fairhaven's long stretch between deadly crimes ends when someone murders Sally Jastrow while she participated in a government sponsored medical experiment. The case is virtually a closed door mystery that means either an insider, or a computer whiz who could overcome the lock codes, had to do the crime. Sheriff Alan Schneider and Captain Toni Ashcroft of Air Force security investigate the murder. As they make their inquiries, a strong attraction develops between them. However, first they must solve an ugly killing that has threads reaching back to the child's murder over a quarter of a century ago.

David Wolf has written an entertaining contemporary closed door who-done-it. The numerous viable suspects leave readers struggling to select the culprit. The police procedural also includes a strong romance that Mr. Wolf fully integrates with the main story line. Reminiscent of the powerful works of Sandra Brown, KING OF INFINITE SPACE has cross-genre appeal that romance and mystery readers will find quite enjoyable.

Harriet Klausner

This book can easily be read and enjoyed more than once.
Once I started reading King of Infinite Space, it was hard to stop. It is full of mystery, suspense, tender love relationships, as well as elements of science fiction (or futuristic stuff). This is a great story for a screenplay and movie. Furthermore, I hope there is a continuation of the love story with Toni Ashcroft, Sheriff Alan Schneider, and Amy.

This is a great read from a first time fiction writer
This book was simple and easy to read and kept your attention throughout. King of Infinite Space has a little of everything which makes it appealing to all types of readers. It has murder, mystery & suspense, humor, romance, a touch of science, and military action. A must read. Check it out. I highly recommend it!

`Grandson Of My Heart...'
At last, the penultimate chapter of the Lone Wolf And Cub series - I had every one of the First Comics issues (and had everyone I knew hooked on them) and when they stopped production in 1989 or so, I did my best to try and locate the original telephone book Japanese edition - just so I could KNOW what happened. After 14 years of waiting (and buying the entire series over again when Dark Horse started the reprints two years ago), I'm finally at the end of the story.

What an ending! In my heart I always figured it would turn out the way it did, but the final act actually moved me to tears. In the climactic end, the authors have not only brought their series full circle, they have made a comment on the state of bushido in history at that time. Its hard to write a review of this without giving it away - all I can say is this series must be collected and read from the very beginning to fully appreciate its scope and power. But it IS worth it.

As always, the art is staggering and the minimalist dialogue perfectly suited. There has never been anything like Lone Wolf and Cub.

The End of The Assassin's Road
After 28 HUGE volumes, Lone Wolf and Cub finally comes to an end. On the one hand, I couldn't WAIT for the series to end, so I could see what happened to Itto Ogami and his son, Daigoro. Would they have their revenge against the Yagyu clan at last...? On the other hand, I knew I'd miss the characters and the magnificent work of creators Kazuo Koike & Goseki Kojima....Well, I've finally finished the series, and I miss Daigoro already...

This final installment revolves around the showdown between Ogami & Daigoro and their nemesis, Retsudo Yagyu. Yagyu brings the final remnants of his "Grass" (Deep-cover Ninja who spend generations infiltrating villages in Japan) to the battlefield, and employs a truly insidious deception against Itto (Which I won't spoil!); I studiously avoided any situation that may have resulted in my discovering the end of the series before I got a chance to read it, and although I had a general idea of how the final battle would play out, I was still moved to tears at the final twenty pages.....

If you haven't experienced any of the Lone Wolf and Cub series, I can't recommend them highly enough. I've been reading comics since I was two years old, and I have NEVER read such a finely wrought story; It ranks among my favorite works of fiction, right alongside Lonesome Dove and The Stand, and that's pretty damned impressive.......

The End of the Road to Hell...
In this final volume of the now-legendary series, Lone Wolf and Cub face their final battle against their enemy, Lord Restudo in a showdown that is nothing less than poetic and stunning. Being a reader of the series since it started being published in the U.S. (going on two years now...), the final shocking act committed in this series definitely struck a chord with me. A long journey has ended, and with it, a truly great epic series (sure to be among the finest in comic history or popular literature) has as well. Highly Recommended.
