The Wolf who cryed boy
This book was very good and has nice pictures. It teaches one of the greatest lessons of all time, it teaches one not to lie. Its starts when a small wolf doesn't like his dinner and wishes he could eat delicious boy. The rest of the story is basically the same as the boy who cried wolf only reversed. This book is one that I think everyone would like. Children would like it for the cute name and pretty pictures, and adults would like it for the lessons it's teaching the children. This is one of the best books I've read in a while. It's important to me for the book to have some lesson or meaning involved. Overall this book is great.

Excellent, Great Book for All Ages
My daughter is 9 months old. We were lucky to find this book at our local library. We read it and we were just laughing. My husband also listen to the story. We thought it was a really cute book. It teaches a good lesson about not crying boy when it isn't true. I plan to buy this book in the future. We let my sister-in-law read this book to her boys and they loved it too. My sister in law is a school teacher and she is going to buy this book. We really enjoyed reading this book as a family! I think every home needs this book because it teaches our children a great lesson

You'll wolf it down!
My daughter and I were lucky enough to discover this on the "new books" shelf at a local library, and it quickly became a favorite... a great twist on the original fable, combined with a hilarious fussy-eater subplot. We had to buy our own copy. The wordplay is delightful ("chipmunks and dip," "muskratatouille"), and the cheerfully sick sense of humor ("there was nothing better than a steaming plate of Boy Chops, a big Baked Boy-tato, and some Boys-n-Berry Pie") is exactly what kids love. The illustrations have a quaint, old-fashioned cartoon aspect which perfectly suits the story. I did think the ending was a bit quick and pat for such a rollicking and imaginative tale, but it seems ungracious to note even a minor flaw in a book that's so much fun.

champion choose your adventure
probably the best choose your own destiny series around. Each episode keeps you inthralled and on the seat of your pants. A real page-turner

Good RPG
This book is a good RPG, such as the Dungeons and Dragons board game. This entails you to use your common sense, and to think of your surroundings.

A heart-stopping adventure that ranks among Joe Dever's best
Wolf's Bane, the evil champion of Naar, has created an entirely new dilemna for the reader, remniscient of Beyond the Nightmare Gate. The impostor is your mirror image, and he has led the entire nation of Sommerlund to believe you are the cause of heinous crimes. You must hunt him down, traipse across star systems and dimensions, and finally duel with him to the death...at the exact moment the Dark God Naar decides to summon his acolyte. Can you defeat both Naar and Wolf's Bane, or are you doomed to fail before a startling revelation that could save or doom the entire universe of Aon? Wolf's Bane is certainly a book to buy-it is an absolute must

Wolfy The Wolf eel
A fabulously original and interesting book. I strongly recommend you buy it. Great for both children and adults.

Wolfie the Wolf-eel
A very unique, well written and educational book for both children and adults. Not many authors explore the different creatures under the sea. Most people have not even heard of Wolf-eels and so this book opens the doors to a new world of undersea creatures. There is so much we do not know about the ocean. The fantastic thing about this book is it brings these facinating creatures to life for everyone.

Not only is this book very well written, but it also inlcudes beautiful, colorful illustrations done by Jacqueline Stanley herself!

This is a fabulous book. Buy a copy, you will not be disappointed!

"Wolfie" is a wonderfully beautiful book
I recently had the opportunity to read this book, and was very impressed with its originality and interesting content, both with regards to the written text and the beautifully vivid illustrations (all of which were done by the very talented Ms. Stanley). Not only is it a fun read for any child (or adult, for that matter), but also offers educational information on a sea creature not widely known or understood, with pictorials detailing the life cycle of the wolf eel, etc. In my opinion, any child would love to receive this book, and I intend to purchase a copy for all of the children I know. I look forward to seeing the further adventures of "Wolfie" detailed in the future, or perhaps the tale of another sea creature - whatever the subject, I am confident the author will again create an exciting adventure below the seas to delight the imagination of both young and old. You've done a wonderful job, Ms. Stanley!

A Night fighter in WWII writes from experience!
I trained with Jack Kelly at Quonset Point so followed his story with extreme interest. Good description of cockpit actions. I would like to make contact with him if anybody knows where the author can be found. "Bruns"

One of the best historical novels I have ever read.
Like Deighton's "Goodbye Micky Mouse", "The Wooden Wolf" transports the reader to another time. A time when a hero was real and war was fought for a just cause. Kelly writes with expertise and makes us care for the calloused pilot Croft. The shocking ending leaves the reader breathless and the intimate detail of the planes and tactics used just add to the realism. If there ever was a book that deserved to be made into a movie, this is it. "The Wooden Wolf" is a classic.

An excellent WW II aviation novel by a combat aviator
Jack Kelly was a carrier-based night fighter
pilot during WW II. He has used
his experience to portray a protagonist much
like himself--a naval aviator on exchange
duty with the Royal Air Force, flying DeHavilland
Mosquitos over Occupied Europe.

Kelly's intimate knowledge of night flying
is shown through his hero, Lt. John Croft, who
is assigned to a mission of vital importance
--assassinating Adolf Hitler
from the air. Croft's romance with SubLt
Rosemary Ince, a radar controller, adds
dimension to the story.

The climax, involving Croft's duel with
an equally skilled opponent in a Heinkel 219,
will surprise many readers and leave them in
admiration of a novel that comes close to
equaling Len Deighton's excellent "Bomber."

Wonderful, Uplifting Story
My children and I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful book. It has everything we love in stories: mystery, drama, comedy. We can't wait to read more about Molly!

Hope, Love and Passion, a Beautiful Gift of Life,
As a collage student I have been asked to read many books, both for class and leasure. I have always found that most authors can not capture my attention past the first chapter, sad but true. Untill I picked up the Snow Wolf by Mrs. Judy Day. It is not often a writer can bring a story to life as done so in this book. I hung on every word as the writer brought me into a magical world. With chills and over come emotion I read through each chapter. Mrs. Day has brought the story of a young women to life the hearts of all that read her book.
I truly believe that Mrs. Day has been given a gift for her writing. She has brought passion, love and morals back into what we read and has done so in a magical way!!
I truely look forward to any up and coming books that Mrs. Day has coming out.
I wish her the best of luck!

A great read!
Taut, well-written, believable...with wonderful twists and turns. I found it to be one of the best of its genre. A great read.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes court room dramas and good writing.

Wileta Burch

I couldn't put it down
If you like "The Practice" television show, and other such lawyering programs, you're going to love Alpha Wolf Conspiracy. Author Richard Hicks weaves a wonderful tale about the legal profession that keeps you glued to every page. As a former lawyer himself, he obviously knows his material, and he communicates it in a way that totally involves the reader. Interesting characters. Solid story line. Witty dialogue. I highly recommend this book.

American Duchess

Definitely a keeper...
I have to agree with the reviewer below who did such a great job in outling the story. Although this is an old story, there is still so much in it to like upon a re-read. It is a story of a couple brought together by duty and love - on his part, the duty to his estates and tenants, to his family, and to his Name and Title, and on hers, to her father. In agreeing to marry, they discover firstly that they get along surprisingly well, and secondly that they love each other - but not without several hiccups. One of Tracy's problems is her post-natal depression (the baby blues) which combine with a general feeling of insecurity both as a very young wife and mother and as a foreigner and outside. Her attempts to do what she thinks her husband wants from her - to be a political hostess - only serve to create a rift between the two. This is made worse when a former suitor arrives in London and completely misread's Tracy's feelings about her marriage and about himself. But everything ends happily (this is a romance!), and the young duke and duchess realize that they are in love, and that Tracy does not in fact have to play the part of political hostess.

Add to all this some delightful vignettes into the way in which American heiresses were received in British high society (well before the 1880s and 1890s when many more American heiresses arrived to win titles), and the ways in which a young Republican heroine adjusts to life at the top of the aristocratic ladder. Tracy's political beliefs are not taken seriously by the statesmen who listen to her, but then fortunately she is no firebrand, either.

At least one of the love scenes were curiously reminiscent of a similar scene in THE GAMBLE (one of my favorite Joan Wolf books). This scene and other scenes are slightly more explicit than the norm for this period (early 1980s), but most of the sensuality is conveyed by such scenes as the couple fishing together, riding together, the duke lifting a heavy branch off the road, and so forth.

If you like Joan Wolf, this book is a must-read. It is also a favorite choice for most Regency readers. There is no explicit adventure, but the story of a couple learning about each other and the sacrifices they have made for others.

A keeper
I read this one ages ago and still read it again occasionally. William Bodmin is dying and like many self made Americans he wished to sell his fortune for a title. Eyeing the crop of eligibles he finds the poor but impressive Duke of Hastings. Tracey Bodmin, realizing that her marrying an aristocrat is her father's dying wish, is willing to do the inevitable.

Adrian (the Duke) has a family to care for and an estate to finance so he looks to the current crop of heiresses. Quickly discarding most of the crop, his eye lands on Tracey Bodmin who in addition to having money is lovely and personable boot. So Tracey and Adrian do their duty. . .

Duty never felt so good.

Tracey, Adrian, and Tracey's father find themselves quite pleased with the results and prepare for a happily ever after. . .only reality intrudes.

Tracey's democratic tendencies leave her feeling ill suited for a ton marriage--especially with someone as truly aristocratic as Adrian. Add in a difficult pregnancy and a long lost suitor determined to free her from the strict rules of English society, and Tracey's marriage is poised to fall apart.

It's a tale of a totally unsuited couple that find that not only do opposites attract, they can even survive once the honeymoon is over.

Everything you need to know -- just add trees!
This is the do-it-yourself book that got me started on that sweet rite of spring -- making my own maple syrup. The author's emphasis is on how to do it efficiently and very cheaply, using easy-to-find materials you can scrounge yourself. If you have the trees to tap, by all means get this book! (Hint: they don't have to be the sugar maple species. Try other maples as well. I get great syrup from box elders, which I considered "trash trees" until I learned they are in the maple family. Now I treasure them like gold.)

My own sugaring set-up is total simplicity: just some old refrigerator grates set on top of cinder blocks, heated with odd scraps of wood that others have thrown away at construction sites, etc. The sap is boiled down in flat baking pans, then finished off on the stove inside. Except for the initial expense to buy some professional spiles for tapping (you can make those, too, but I'm a failure as a tinsmith), I have spent ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the 3-4 gallons of syrup we make each year. Not a bad return for a book that I cost me less than ten bucks!

Great intro to ultra cheap sugaring!
This book has an overarching philosophy - keep it simple and keep it cheap! The authors describe everything you need to know and stress not having to pay for anything you can get for free. This quest for free stuff that works well is one of the pleasures of hobby sugaring. Well written descriptions of all the processes. Lots of photos. Reading it makes you wish the sap would start flowing NOW! Highly recommended

The Best Book on Berlin
If you must have only one book on Berlin, this is it. Few cities have experienced the massive upheaval that Berlin has, and trying to compare and understand the pre-World War II city with that of today is often a frustrating labyrinth. Mark McGee's book offers clarity. While other books have a similar before/after format, McGee does it with greater clarity, superior images, and with a lively and informative text. I like that individual buildings are given a distinct section, as opposed to being scattered throughout. McGee's text offers plenty of pertinent information, as well as trenchant architectural criticism, and odd asides that are greatly enjoyable (commenting on the Potsdam rail station, McGee notes that the old graveyard in front of the station was paved over after the lease on the last grave expired). Yes, this book is a must for any reader interested in the architecture and urban planning of a unique city. All that is missing is a map highlighting the location of buildings detailed.

An original perspective on history
Mark R. McGee has assembled an impressive collection of photographs to demonstrate the changes that have occurred in twentieth-century Berlin. Any student of history will be interested to see the minute details captured in these images. The texts included with each sequence of photographs flesh out the history of this fascinating city.

Chick-lit at its'best
San Francisco columnist Tanzy Harrington classifies the world quite simply around the concept that two types of males populate it: wolves and sheep. Tanzy prefers the dangerous wolves as her bed mate over the flock of dependable husband material. The key to her unusual attitude is that she loves them and leaves them with her heart untouched.

Her Aunt Millicent feels that Tanzy is missing out on real life so she chooses a candidate for her niece. Tanzy immediately blows away Millicent's selection as a sheep or why else would her aunt select him. In actuality Millicent hired security expert Riley Parrish to protect Tanzy from an anonymous fan threatening her. As Riley escorts Tanzy throughout the Bay area they fall in love, but she begins to wonder if he might be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Fans of chick lit will enjoy this contemporary romance due to the uniqueness of Tanzy. The story line moves slowly forward, as the suspense elements remain de-emphasized though suspects surface. Instead, the tale focuses on Tanzy's Baa Humbug attitude towards sheep and her doubts about which classification Riley belongs to while she disregards the well known fact that wolves mate for life.

Harriet Klausner

Going on my keeper shelf
Ms. Kauffman just keeps getting better and better. This is a book for all of those who feel like they should be reading Bridget Jones type stuff, but want a good old romance. I found Tanzy to be a well-developed character, flaws and all, and Riley was just great as a wolf in sheep's clothing. The secondary characters spice up the tale without distracting from Tanzy and Riley. I'm really looking forward to more books by Donna Kauffman!
