Important Timing
In this time of globablization and trade liberatization and ever changing economic landscapes it is more important that ever to understand the secrets of positive networking to build global relationships.

This book is written in a very straight forward and practical manner, it is timely for corporations who want their employees to build community and it important for single operation entreprenerus to build a global network. The mantra of asking, " what you can do for others first" would be an important mantra for all aspects of buisiness as well as networking. How about a book on the secrets of positive negotiation next Mr. Rezac? Thank you. Cathline James

Practical and Positive
I find The Frog and Prince: Secrets of Positive Networking to Change Your Life very useful. Since networking consists of your relationships with people, by definition, networks are always on, as the authors say: You're always networking in some form or other - in hibernation, poorly, or well. This book provides practical, positive actions that anyone can adopt, from business card etiquette to joining a conversation amid a room full of strangers. At the same time, the authors present thought-provoking principles which pique rather than insult your intelligence. "Discovering what you can do for someone else" is a principle which can be applied to networking opportunities anywhere. Having worked in Asia, Europe and the US, I believe these principles and practices can generate positive effects in any culture. This book can help you improve your enjoyment and effectiveness in networking whether you are an outgoing jet-setting corporate chief or the opposite. The authors use an abundance of real-life anecdotes and real-people examples, quotes, nuggets, and summaries to bring across the message across in a lively, positive, concrete, useful and efficient way.

jam-packed with practical and useful information
I had no intention of reading the entire book over the weekend, but that is exactly what happened! It was extremely enjoyable, and jam-packed with practical and useful information. Darcy Rezac has managed to accomplish something very rare: He has conveyed important and valuable information in a clear, concise, and entertaining manner. He is the first person I've seen who has taken such a methodical, systematic approach to networking. I think most people make the mistake of really "winging it" when it comes to networking, but this book demonstrates how and why people should be much more organized and focused. I think anyone who applies even just a few of the principles outlined in this book will reap some significant rewards. I am already looking forward to my next opportunity to put some of these principles into practice! I also liked the design and layout of the book -- very user friendly. It's set up in a way that makes it easy to refer back to certain sections.

my book review
Recently, I read The Glass Cage by Judy Levering-Duff. It is a wonderful book for the young reader. The main character, Princess Isabella, a ten year old girl has many adventures and they transform her in a positive way. The book held my interest till the end and Isabella stole my heart.

A Teen-age Reviewers Perspective
I recieved this book as a b-day present from a friend. Fabulous book! I could not put it down and ended up finishing it in one night! I loved the main character, Princess Isabella and her trials and tribulations throughout the book. I am anxiously awaiting Mrs. Duff's next book of Princess Isabella's adventures!

A Teen-age Reader in Pennsylvania
I recieved the GLASS CAGE as a present from a friend. I finished the book in one night because I couldn't put it down (IT'S A GREAT READ!!!)! Where to begin, where to begin...hmm how about the main character, Princess Isabella of Grom? She was the perfect heroine for the book...she had beauty, brains, and 'brawn' to boot! I loved everything about her character, especially how even though she was a princess she didn't act like one, and could survive without being pampered. I also enjoyed the setting of the book, way back when...with all those mythological creatures and everything! All-in-all it was a fabulous book, and I await Mrs. Duff's next book on Princess Isabella's adventures!

Life-changing for adult beginners AND veteran musicians
I've had this book for 10 years, and am just now reviewing it, partly because I feel that nothing I write will do it true justice. I do, however, want to add to the great comments here and to promote what Stephanie Judy has done. This book deserves about 5 million stars, if you ask me.

Before I talk about my own musical experience, I want to say something to those who had bad early experiences with music (usually at the hands of bad music TEACHERS). Many of us who were not natural athletes can remember the humiliation of being picked last for the team and then being assigned to the outfield because we weren't good enough for the real action on the diamond. What I didn't realize until reading this book is that there are many folks that experienced similar humiliation when it came to music--maybe being told to sing softer or worse yet, being told to just lip-sync. Now I know what to say to people who tell me, "I'd love to learn to sing or play and wish I'd taken lessons as a child." I ask them to share their experience with me, and then encourage them to get their hands on "Making Music for the Joy of It." If you are one of those folks who always wanted to "do something" with music--and one of your regrets in life is that you let an early experience such as that discourage you from ever trying again until now, don't live with that regret a minute longer. Hit the "purchase" button right now. (Gee, doesn't this sound like an infomercial??) Read the first few chapters and see if you're not encouraged to go for it again. I second the reviewer who said this is a must for teachers of adult students. In fact, they should buy copies for those students as a gift and a reference.

My own musical life has been a relatively easy one. I was a pretty good singer as a child and have played the piano for nearly 35 years. While I do have to practice and work at it to stay really good, it still feels very natural to me. I don't think of a house as being a home without a musical instrument in it. But in 1992, I was in a period of my life where I had spent several years doing music for "other people" more than myself--productions at church, playing for weddings, and most of the time it was stuff that other people picked out, not me--enjoying it less, and, not coincidentally, suffering from some aches and pains in the process. I was at a crossroads--not wanting to continue with music unless I could get some satisfaction out of it again. Call it God or serendipity, but at the low point of that time, I ran across this book, bought it, and my whole attitude about music became what it was when I was a child--pure fun and joy again. The suggestions on practicing, technique, improvisation, and especially the section on ensemble playing and dealing with the inevitable ego and morale issues therein really hit me. That whole concept of "release" and separating making music from "performance" was almost revolutionary--one I still use now when I'm playing songs of my own choosing, and as much as possible with music my director assigns me. I recently revisited them when I found myself drifting into feeling like I was just a pair of hands for a couple of groups I was accompanying. This summer, I've spoken up about what I need in order to continue working with them, keeping in mind what I'd read in the book, and things are much better. While I hope to take a partial break from music "for others" this fall, the music that I do contribute to my church will be much better and I think much more appreciated.

Adding to the excellent work she's done with the narrative is an extensive bibliography and thorough crediting of her sources when she mentions a technique, idea, or concept that was not hers originally. She makes some of the more scholarly work on musicology accessible and user-friendly. And the quotes are real gems--nothing but encouragement and hope, with a little humor thrown in now and then.

In short, this is one of the ten books I'd take to a desert island. Even if I were taking a break from music for a season, I would still want this book close by to ponder on for the time I returned to civilization and my piano.

Buy it now. You won't be sorry. . .

A comprehensive book for musicians of all levels.
Having begun to study the classical piano in my 40s, I am now, 10 years later, playing for audiences and suffering stagefright. After reading many books on performance anxiety, I came upon Stephanie Judy's very practical "encyclopedia"; this book even has an index! Sparing the reader a great deal of "new age" mysticism, Ms. Judy, in a warm and clear tone, tackles every aspect of making music, from the point of view of both student and teacher. Although no amount of reading can make anxiety disappear without actual practice, this book discusses the problem at length as a normal aspect of studying and playing that can be resolved in a variety of innovative ways. Particularly valuable is the chapter on learning that treats the often delicate relationship between student and teacher. And then there is the whole subject of practicing -- when you want to; when you don't; and when your best efforts miss the end-result point. Stay with each page and don't miss the margin quotes, pearls of wisdom offered by musicians and teachers who are both famous and unknown, but who are all devoted to this most creative and satisfying endeavor.

Absolutely brilliant!
I first picked up Ms. Judy's book two years ago and it has been a revelation. It inspired me to resume the piano studies I abandonded in frustration twenty-five years ago, as well as to begin to learn the acoustic guitar. Ms. Judy's book is filled with helpful, practical advice, and she gives the clearest outline of what specific aspects of music to study that I have ever seen (e.g., ear training, sight reading, music theory, etc.). It is also obvious that this book is a labor of love for Ms. Judy. Her warmth and humor shine through on every page. I recommend this book to anyone who always wanted to play an instrument but did not have the confidence to follow through.

At last, a Real Person!
Judy Muller's unique combination of sharp wit, keen perception, brutal honesty, and personal courage gives us a glimpse into radio and TV journalism we can't get from just listening or watching. The book is a triumph, fleshing out the real people behind the talking heads. Her frank description of personal alcoholism is heart-wrenching, and her tale of the prices paid, and the gains made, in her profession should be required reading for anyone seriously considering a career in journalism. A fine read on several levels. Thanks for sharing, Judy!

One of the Best!
This is easily one of the best written, most thoroughly delightful books I've read in many years. If you are a parent you will love it! If you're interested in radio you'll love it! If you're interested in TV you'll love it! One of the few books I've read in recent years where I truly hated to see the last few pages coming up.

"Now, This" Hard to Put Down
Judy Muller's wonderful book is a treat for anyone interested in an inside look at the whacky world of television news. Ms. Muller has a terrific sense of humor which keeps the reader doubled over throughout. I read the book cover-to-cover in one sitting, then gave it to a friend who also found it impossible to put down. We both had a good laugh together afterward comparing notes on our favorite stories from the book.

Ms. Muller also infuses her book with fascinating tales from her vantage point on history and poignant moments about dealing with life's problems. Her story is told honestly and from the heart. This is easily the best book by a television newswoman since Linda Ellerbee's "And So it Goes."

I CAN RELATE!
Wordsmith Judy Blume uses more verbal magic in this illustrated children's book about a little brother and a big sister. Another book that, at age 12, seemed "too kiddie" and beneath me.
I don't care if you're 60, 16, or 6 years-old! Even if you did not have the experience of growing up with siblings, or, in my case, I was the youngest, but had a smaller niece that acted as a baby sister.
Read so you know the title. Read so you know better than any Child Psychology book on the structure of Sibling Dynamics!

A Must Have Book for Every Family
My son (8 yrs old) read this to his sister (6 yrs old) while I was combing her hair. We all laughed so much, he had to read parts over. This is a school library book and I am ordering it now to keep on our library shelf. It will be the book I give to ever child I know.

My children are exactly at the age of the characters with reverse gender. They could readily identify with the situations and could laugh at very 'real' conversations. I am sure they recalled how many times they have each said, "You love him/her better than me." I know I could. I want them to read this book once a month so they can remember the joy in having each other.

words from THE Great One
I am actually purchasing this book as a gag gift for my baby brother. I believe we were nine and five when we first read this book and now, eons later, it has evolved into a family/cult classic around our homes. The book is fantastic and it most definitely captures some of the siller moments that go along with sibling rivalry.

Excellent.
Original, intelligent and utterly captivating from beginning to end. I'm a voracious reader, not a writer so if you want details you'll have to look elsewhere.

Wonderfully human romance!
I've been looking for this book for years and finally found it. Ms. Cuevas, who is also Judith Ivory, wrote one of her best books when she penned Bliss. These are two intelligent, adult people, flawed, but real, wonderfully human, with deep emotions. I loved reading it, and read it in two sittings, something I hardly ever do anymore in romance or any genre. This is truly a love story. I absolutely adored the self-destructive, ether-loving hero!!!!!!! WOW! His passion for the heroine, Hannah, brought back his passion for life. Nardi is flawed but heroic and real. He's so human, so wonderful in his thoughts and in his honesty. I love his dialogue. As I was reading, I actually wished I knew him. This is not a typical romance. No, it's one of the best romances ever to come out of the genre. It's fresh, set in France, it has great conflicts, emotional honesty, some of the best love scenes I have ever read, and two characters who fall in love in spite of their own personal passions. I could almost see this as a movie. I'd love to write the screenplay myself! It would be great, a fantastic love story, and oh, the hero as artist has never been better, and the heroine as needy but strong, has never been better. I could go on and on. Ms. Ivory. More please.........

blissfully lovely book
Okay, I admit it..... Sometimes I'm a little slow. I had NO IDEA that Judy Cuevas is also Judith Ivory. Ms. Ivory is one of my all time favorite authors. I have read all her books and treasured each and every one. Now I understand my fascination with the Cuevas novels.

Bliss is the first novel I read under her pseudonym. Wow!! what a great book. I wasn't sure if I would like the innocent heroine saving a "tortured soul" and falling helplessly in love at the same time. WRONG!!!

The story about a mistakenly tarnished American beauty who secures a job with an elderly lady who is in the auction and fine art appraisal business. They travel together to France to appraise and auction antique pieces from a family owned chateaux. The chateaux is in need of many repairs. The money gained will be used toward restoration. There the heroine, Hannah, meets a somber and tortured Frenchman, Nardi, who is "imprisoned in a detached cottage (by his family) while he detoxes from an Ether addiction. He is an intense, handsome young artist who became self destructive from professional rejection, self esteem problems, and family dysfunction. Hannah, impossibly naive befriends Nardi and ultimately helps him "heal".

Ms. Cuevas/Ivory writes poignentely. The characters, although flawed are complex, likeable, and compelling. Hannah's determination, loyalty, and indomitable spirit casts a ray of light upon the darkness of Nardi's soul- and ignites an all consuming passion between the two. Nardi's recovery and healing helps Hannah understand and come to terms with her own past issues. The story is uplifting and speaks to the power of love, renewel, and growth.

Don't miss this book!! Why,is it not in print??

a must for herbal health people
excellent book for those who want to go the herbal health way to manage multiple sclerosis, makes sence,& explains why the herbal health works, and how. I now amy tryng 2 of the examples recommended(Eve Primrose Oil) and another..they do work for me.My attitude is 75% better since reading this book.

Because Doctors Won't or Can't Tell You Everything
This highly readable, well-organized book covers the essential alternative approaches for those dealing with relapsing-remitting MS. It focuses on the best accepted research studies and wellness management (as opposed to symptom management). For example, there is a lot on diet, with great explanations of why it works, but nothing on bee venom therapy (which only temporarily can address symptoms). It's so well written, you can get the essence of the whole thing in a less than an hour, and then drill into the parts as appropriate.

Outstanding!
I have had MS for eight years. I found this book extremely informative. The author discusses information that I have not found anywhere else. Her approach to disease management through vitamin and mineral suppliments as well as the importance of identifying food allergies has given me renewed hope. I highly recommend this book!

A look at what is being censored- - good literature
I loved these short stories. In some of them, I had difficulty understanding why they would be censored. So, okay, my favorite, Paul Zindel's "Love and Centipedes," is a little insane. It was also utterly perverse and simultaneously sickening and hilarious. This one is a real treat and focuses on one girl's infatuation with a popular high school jock with a cheerleader girlfriend. I also enjoyed Walter Dean Myer's "The Beast is in the Labyrinth," a look at the damaging effects of drug abuse (why would anyone have a problem with this story??) Other goodies include Julian Lester's "Spear" and another story called "Ashes," but just about every single one of these stories has something to offer. This book doesn't insult the reader's intelligence by hiding away subjects that it deems you are too immature to handle that exist out there in the world. I highly recommend it.

Outstanding
I could not put this book down! This kept me up and reading threw the night. Within this book, authors tell their stories, of why there book was banned, what their thoughts were, and it makes you ask yourself, "Was it necessary for this book to have been banned"? Authors like Judy Blume, David Klass, and Norma Klein all join together to express their feelings in the fight against National Censorship. These authors are all apart of the National Coalition Against Censorship. In this book, it gives you a brief summary of their thoughts and experiences with censorship. Then there is a chapter or two, on one of their own books. It really opens your eyes to the world of censorship.

power of a child's mind
this book offers an author's point of view of book banning. if you ever contimplated the neccesity of censorship you should definately pick up this book. well written and strong arguments for the power children have within themselves.
