I've just started reading it and I'm abt 80 pages into it but lemme tell ya , Its just as good if not better than the rest of them in the "Stories 4 the Teens heart" series! I don't think the stories are just for teens either , anyone can read them and they are sure to enjoy them. The stories talk about real life situations and how others have coped with them. This book can really cheer a person up and help them out. I hope anyone who veiws this would read it and enjoy it! Best wishes to all ya'll out there!

Inspiring People
This book was an inspiration to me. I am going through a lot of hard times right now and this book has helped me see that my problems aren't as bad as I thought they were. One of my favorite stories would have to be "Miracle at the Mall" on page 314. There's always a different way God lets people know he cares and loves us. I look forward to future books by Alice Gray. Also, I would like to thank the people who allowed their stories to be published.

A must-read for any horse lover
I just finished this book, I cheated and read the last chapter before my daughter and I finish it together tomorrow because I had to read the ending. It was a gift to us from a friend who knew we loved horses, and what a wonderful read it has been. Not an easy read at times, but a true story and wonderfully done. I must find her other two sequels!

Warm, Tender, Exciting!
For horselovers of all ages, everywhere! A wonderfully written book with lovely illustrations. Jean Ivey skillfully draws you in and makes you a part of the story. To those who know Arabians, you are further reminded of the uniqueness of this animal and its love for, and devotion to humans.

For every child who has ever dreamed of owning and loving a horse, this book will further enhance that dream! To love and bond with these wonderful creatures is one of life's great experiences.

Jean Ivey creates wonderful dreams! I'm looking forward to her next adventure!

A Gem of a book
I loved this book. The writing was flawless and the characters were wonderful. The illustrations were lovely too. You can almost feel the hot desert winds as you read it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves horses, stories about the mid-east, or just a great book. I'm looking forward to the sequels.

A book that gives hope
I had come to the brink of divorcing my husband but something kept telling me that divorce wasn't the answer. However, I was miserable in the relationship and continuing on the way things were was not going to work. I was very bitter and resentful towards my husband, who I felt at the time had abandoned me emotionally. I really felt like if I divorced him, I would never marry again because he had ruined the romantic notion of marriage I had once had. My faith in love and kindness was non-existent. God must have led me to this book during one of my endless online searches for guidance and advice about my situation. The title of the book seemed perfect for me because on the surface, I really didn't care any more to repair my marriage. I was emotionally exhausted but I thought deep-down that I really didn't want to divorce my husband. I wanted HIM to do all the work to repair our marriage because I was TIRED. Reading this book, I cried with RELIEF. Judy Bodmer must have been quoting my thoughts when she wrote this book. Nearly everything she went through, I had experienced as well. It is very comforting to know that there is hope for you when you see how well things turned out for her after things had once appeared so hopeless. I find her advice particularly refreshing, especially the section on forgiveness. She doesn't tell you to be a martyr and in fact advises you NOT to be one. If you aren't ready to forgive your spouse, just say, "I'm not ready yet." But if you ARE ready, that's it. You let it all go and don't bring up the past wrong-doing again. Judy Bodmer also acknowledges that the urge to bring up past wrong-doings is going to happen again and again because we are human but she uses references from the Bible to help you through these moments. Although the book has some strong Christian-based beliefs throughout it, that should not deter a person from buying the book and benefitting from it if he or she is not Christian. There is no "bible-thumping" going on and her themes of forgiveness and personal accountability in relationships is universal. This book restored my faith in love and has helped me on the road to healing and honestly LOVING my husband as I realized I didn't before. For these reasons, I consider this book a priceless resource. I'd give it six stars if I could.

A Mans Perspective About This Book
My marriage is crumbling. Much of it is my fault. But despite my errors, I had made an effort to rekindle my relationship. Those actions fell on deaf ears. My wifes love had died. Literally.

I went to a Christian bookstore and saw this book. I picked it up and instantly knew it was a key to restoring my relationship. I gave to a counselor who my wife was seeing as I knew that if it came directly from me, it would be seen as poison. It never got in her hands after he read it and agreed it was a good book for her.

I bought another through [Amazon.com]. I gave it to my wife's sister who presented it to her. After several weeks, I understand my wife is reading it. Will it be a key to restoring my marriage. Only God knows. But I believe it will be a tool that will soften her heart and allow her to drop her walls just enough to know that I now understand what marriage is really about. This book described much of what my wife is experiencing about our marriage and how torn she is about it.

As a man, I never knew how women perceived our actions. As a man, I saw presented in this book things that were really a footprint of my life, yet my wife never knew about me.

I wept while reading this book, knowing it was a key and one of many that could bring us back together. Will it bring us back together. Again it's in God's hands.

Even if our situation fails, this book can and will open the hearts and souls of many women and allow them to avoid the heartbreak of divorce.

-- for women who think that they are married to jerks.
Clearly there are husbands who are jerks.

This book is for women who think that they married one. It chronicles the process of making a standard marriage into a great one.

In our world that values selfishness it's refreshing.

Eureka! I found it!
I am writing this review as a so-called "practical man", a three time Mayor of a relatively large City, a community activist for twenty-five years, a husband, a father, and a grandfather.
What Damion Kirk and Judy Lynn Griffler are pointing out is that there is something else happening here, something more real than the day-to-day events of our lives, the people, places, thoughts, moods and feelings of our everyday lives. And that is who we really are - that peaceful awareness that is the real Self behind the small self. Further Damion and Judy Lynn are pointing out that all of us are That and that therefore we are all One. So in recognizing the peaceful awareness in ourselves and extending it to others, we are involved in a Great Conspiracy to love and allow that peace in ourselves and in our neighbors.
Jesus' statement, "I leave you peace, my peace I give to you", becomes much more real.
I find that the mere act of reading this book continually brings me back to the peaceful awareness - to the Here and Now. The book is a great exercise in doing the Inner Work and in assisting us to not only know about peaceful awareness but actually to experience it - Here and Now.
ANOTHER WAY: ALLOWING INNER PEACE is in the great tradition of books such as "The Wisdom od Insecurity" and "This is It" by Alan Watts who tried to describe in Western terms the Peace sought by Eastern seekers such as Zen masters.
The book is also in the more modern movement of great seekers and teachers such as Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Deepok Chopra, and Dr. Andrew Weil who are continuously pointing out practical techniques such as meditation, nutrition, and exercise from both the Eastern and Western Traditions which will bring us closer to our Real Selves.
What Damion and Judy Lynn have done, I believe, is to resist any temptation to somehow make their message seem important or correct or profound by overcomplicating it or dazzling us with verbal footwork and displays of knowledge or esoteric credentials. Instead they have stripped the message to the bare bones simplicity that it really is: there is a self that is our true Self. It is always near, never far, and it is the Awareness that you are reading this paper with right Now.
Thank you Damion Kirk and Judy Lynn Griffler for reaching out your hands in love to help your brothers and sisters.

This guy knows stuff!
Had this book recommended to me when I inherited someone else's problem cat who refused to go in the box.

This book explained how the kitty brain works! I was able to watch and observe my kitty, get inside her head, and give her a box she would go in!

You must supply your own patience of course!

Every page is full of amazingly useful information.
I am totally amazed by this book.
every page is so full of useful information.
I didn't expect the book to be this much useful.
It's so easy to read, fun, and enjoyable.
If only possible, I would give 5 million stars to this book.

Mine eyes have been opened...
Wow! What a great book. With a background in experimental social psychology and more than a passing interest in animal behavior, this book did a great job of applying psychological principles I've learned to cat behavior problems. Most times I don't find this in books on animal behavior.

I found this book to be really interesting. In fact, now I'm wondering if his is a career path I would like to follow. I think Dr. Wright's career is fascinating and intriguing. I really loved the way he first completely presented the cat problem to us and then gave us the solution he used. I found myself trying to figure out what the solution was before I read it. Alas, most of the time I was stumped, but after reading the solution, it made complete sense.

If you love trying to understand your cat, or if you have behavior problems, then this book is for you! It's a must if you are serious about your cat!

Judy

Garland Under The Microscope
Gerold Frank's biography is probably the single most comprehensive book written concerning Judy Garland: meticulously researched, debunking many myths, and richly detailed, it is certainly a standard for any one seriously interested in Garland. Even so, I have several issues with the book.

My single greatest complaint about the book is that Frank often seems to include detail for the sake of detail, and at times these details don't seem to make any cohesive statement. That aside, while Frank places Garland under a microscope, he never really quite delivers any sense of the world in which she moved; consequently, we never really have any background against which we may judge her. There is no context.

These are serious flaws, and while the book is certainly readable and enjoyable, I do not think it is one to which the average reader would return, nor would I particularly recommend it to any but the toughest of hard-core Garland fans.

BEST JUDY GARLAND BIOGRAPHY WRITTEN!!!!
Gerold Frank has taken a subject of innumerable facets, a larger-than-life personality, and an almost indescribable talent and has put the history of her life to words as no writer before or since has been able to accomplish. Judy Garland, one of the silver screen's most beloved stars, is accurately and honestly conveyed in this biography. Frank's style is unique: when he tells of the tradgedies or failures of the star, he is not incriminating against the subject. Frank's book is one as written by an observer, sometimes voyueristically so. His thorough research bring Garland through in all her glory: as the vaudeville headliner, the little girl on the rise to stardom, the MGM superstar, loving wife and mother, and the sometimes self-destructive woman, taken from this earth too soon by the disease brought on by a lifetime of pills, but most of all, the woman trying to find her place in the world and the love she always craved and needed. Judy Garland is a human being, not a media figure, in this book. Gerold Frank is to be well commended for his excellent portrayal of Judy Garland, and readers will also be delighted or surprised by the informative tidbits along this Yellow Brick Road into the life of the great Judy Garland.

A MUST HAVE for true Judy fans...
This is a very well written book. There is a lot of interesting and detailed information that I have not heard about before. This book sets the facts straight through primary sources. Gerold Frank spoke to Judy's children, husbands, friends, fellow cast members, and even to her doctors. He is the only author that Judy's family and friends completely cooperated with. This was very informative; and it is a real page-turner, unlike so many biographies that merely present fact after fact, or promote fictitious legends. This book sorts through all of this. It is, I believe, one of the best biographies yet written about Judy Garland. A definite must have:)

The Railroad: What it is, what it does
A great refernce book, I have the 3rd edition, I will have to get the fourth edition in time.

A must have
If you want to know everything about railroading, this is THE book to get. I'm in model railroading since 20 years. This book is so comprehensive and full of informations, after the third chapter, I was feeling as if I was a perfect ignorant before!!
It's an hard-to-find book, so if you can get a copy, do it!

Want to know about the RR.. This book is for you.
I purchaced the book used and found it to be an asset to my RR Library. It covers all aspects of the RR especially freight service. My only complaint was the maps in my book are hand drawn and needed to blow them up on copy machine to get a good understanding of what they were talking about. They reference the maps quite a bit and turning back and forth got to be a little tough, so made the copys. Great book... buy it NOW !

Great resource for quilters
Until search engines get a heck of a lot more intelligent than they are now, the best source for web site recommendations is from human beings. Particularly humans passionate about their subject matter. Judy and Gloria won't waste your time with a bazillion irrelevant links. They know their subject matter, and they know a good site when they see one. They're also a stitch. Or perhaps two stitches. Buy this book!

This book is terrific, a must have.
Every quilter should own this book. Thanks Judy and Gloria for putting together such a wonderful book. Keep up the good work!!

A handy book for quilters at all levels of computer knowled
This book is a valuable resource for quilters at all levels of computer knowledge. It explains away a lot of the "mysteries" of why your computer acts the way it does and points you in various directions to research out your own particular interests. Written in an easy conversational tone, it imparts a lot of information without talking down or over your head.

Sylvester Or, the Wicked Uncle
Published in Audio Cassette by Isis Audio (1994)
Authors: Georgette Heyer and Judy Franklin
Amazon base price: $69.95
Average review score:

One of Heyer's best
This is a truly brilliant Heyer with an adorable and very real heroine and a hero who is very human! Sparks fly, humour abounds and the lesser charcters are masterfully portrayed. Improves on second and third reading too. A wonderful book.

Well met!
The Duke of Salford wasn't arrogant, he was just brought up that way. It takes a hoydenish schoolmiss with few prospects to take him out of his cold blooded existence. Of course theresa the unfortunate sister-in-law you can't help but dislike, and her foppish suitor who is a ready laughing stock. And theres the adorable and adoring nephew. Theres a graceful Dowager, a kidnapping, an assumed elopement, a gothic novel and enough humour to actually make your eyes water.

Proud Duke meets his Nemesis!
Sylvester, the Duke of Salford, needs a wife, and is convinced that he only has to ask to be accepted. He compiles a list of suitable candidates, some of whom he has not even met, and is persuaded to meet Phoebe Marlow, his godmother's granddaughter, who is a late addition to the list.

But Phoebe is not at all impressed at being considered for the honour of becoming Salford's wife, and runs away! Part of her problem is that she's just written a gothic novel which is in fact a _roman a clef_ in which Sylvester himself is cast as the villain, though she also found him overly arrogant when she'd met him before.

Then Sylvester finds her after her carriage had overturned, and they're forced to spend several days in each other's company....

As usual, Heyer throws in plenty of witty dialogue, an assortment of hilarious and/or likeable supporting characters, and fast pacing as events begin to spiral out of the control of even the supremely confident Duke.

A wonderful novel, worth reading over and over: as with the best Heyers, there's plenty of subtleties you'll miss the first time and will spot on re-reading.

My thoughts
A great title and great unofficial advertising on Emeril Live. But it could have been much more diverse. I relize that was not the point of the book. But there had to be some recipes that people comonly made but were not creole. I guess I would have liked one or two exotic recipes.

The real deal
My mamma's a Crochet, I am Catholic and my husband and I can each make a roux. I, also, am Cajun, know Marcelle and can attest to the authenticity of the recipes and accompanying stories. Many try to capitalize on the Cajun food craze, but few are the real deal. The only thing better than the recipes in Marcelle's book is enjoying them with she and her husband over dinner from their kitchen.

Why Haven't You Bought This Book?
Although I wasn't raised in Lousiana, I love the food, and I love this book. The home recipes and the family memoirs are too good to put down, in the kitchen or the easy chair. If you only buy one cajun cookbook, buy this one.
