Great for everyone, stunning fishined products
This is a fantastic book for the craftsman of miniature furniture and room settings. Suitable for the beginner or experienced modeler, the instructions here lead to stunning finished products.

Specialized tools and techniques for working in miniature are covered. The sections on building, modifying and enhancing furniture kits maximizes their usefulness.

More elaborate projects scratch built from patterns follow. These include tables, a large breakfront, and an upholstered chair and settee group.

Room construction and detailing ideas include floors, walls, ceilings, windows and wiring for dazzling lighting effects. The book concludes with a useful list of sources.

Great Instruction!
I am a beginner in miniatures and this book has made all the things that I wanted to do seem possible. I can hardly wait to get started on some of the kits I had purchased and put up until my dollhouse was completed. I would recommend it to any person interested in modifying kits or constructing from scratch.

Wonderful book for any level, filled with nice projects

Blessing your child!!!
This is a wonderful little book for children and adults alike, and it focuses on giving the blessing to children, much as Trent has written in other books, but this one is focused on the children, and what impact that can have on them.

The story follows Norbert and the fact that no one wanted to sit with him on the way to school. And his way to school is exciting - they all go on a rollercoaster. Now that's what I call creativity. Judy Love has done some marvelous illustrations, and you just want to jump on this rollercoaster with all the others.

A great tool in the hands of parents and caregivers to give the blessing to children.

Wonderful!!!!!
I volunteered to read at an elementary school at a Read in and the class consisted of 2nd,3rd, and 4th graders- The teacher loved the story and the kids absolutely enjoyed it. I'm ordering 2 copies-1 for my 7 yr. old and the other copy I'm going to donate to the class.

It is our child¿s favorite book.
"I'd Choose You" is a great book to help a child gain self-expectance. It has colorful illustration of animals that are used to help a child understand the five elements of the blessing: spoken words, meaningful touch, attaching high value to someone, picturing a wonderful future and genuine commitment

Fantastic Introduction to Western Philosophy and Ideas
This is an excellent introduction to the history and great minds of western philosophy. Even if you are not new to philosophical writing you will enjoy this book since it avoids "wordiness" so many other books in this area are guilty of.

My only complaint about the book was the awful artwork that lends little or nothing to the information being presented. Between the amateurish drawings and the pictures of the moronic looking punk girl I found it really distracting to the overall flow of this outstanding book.

The book is still a great deal, and worth every penny to someone interested in thinking deeper.

Gives a good feel of the thinkers and issues
This book gives a good feel for the major Western philosophers ranging from the ancient Greeks to Descartes, Hume, Hegel and Kant to Nietzsche, Marx, Feuerbach, Dewey and Sartre and how they have investigated epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics and political forms. If you don't grasp everything completely don't worry; some of these fellows, particularly the post-modernists, need to be operated on by Ockham's razor.

everyone should own this book
even if you're wel-versed in philosophy, this is such a neat compilation of succinct right on capsules of the greatest thinkers, that it can jog the minds of those of us who know it all, but can't recall it like we used to.

Excellent summary for those lacking time to delve further
There are people who think of such a book as a glorified comic book. You know, little graphics on every page to make a point. Actually, I felt that way when I first saw this text. But, then, I found philosophy too boring a subject to take seriously when I was in college. In fact, I'm still somewhat amazed that "philosophers" have as much influence as they do.

But romanticism has interested me. It's, what, unenlightened? So I got this little gem.

There's a surprising wealth of information in this book, enough that it has induced me to buy a few other philosophy books (something I said twenty years ago that I'd never do!) Lots of names, how the romanticists of various nationalities were motivated (I found the Germans particularly interesting, maybe because I've been someone interested in Schopenhauer and Kant over the years).

Don't be put off by the graphics. They are effective at adding more substance than a paragraph or two can cover. And they're simple but well done.

The bulk of the text covered European romanticism, so I wondered where's the American breed of that animal. The final portion of the book didn't let me down. It covered the likes of Thoreau, Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and others, all of them characteristic American romanticists.

Most of us are "lay persons" with respect to philosophy as a discipline. This book will at least introduce us to the roots of romanticism, even to its critics. And, among the things I learned from it is that there is not a black and white break between romanticism and its compatriots. Some European romanticists, for example, were closer to postmodernist, according to the authors, and others claimed to be "Neoclassisist," apparently pre-evolved romanticists. So where one ends and the other begins isn't as clear as, frankly, I wish it were (so I could define them all more clearly!

It's such a good read that I bought the book on Postmodernism from the same series! Expect to see names you've never seen before, but read it!

Excellent!!
Very possibly one of the best intros to the subject of Romanticism ever written. Full of info, and insight, the book covers the high and lows of the movement that influenced Napoleon, Beethoven, Kant, etc. Sweeping thru several countries, and numerous art forms, including music, literature, and theatre. One is introduced to the high wire tension of the Romantic, forever trapped between the Unreal (primal nature) and the Real (Civilization).

Interesting and really good for a layman/laywoman?
I have no idea how authority will speak of this book, but me, as a curious reader with interests in all the topics about art and literature find it a really fascinating book!

To begin with, I'm a foreigner, so the elegant English is in itself a beauty and value for me. And then, with the contents covering so much in western history, culture, literature & art, there's still an running clue getting all parts together. The authers performed so graciously such a daunting task and reveal such a profound, beautiful and enlightening world to me.

In a word, it's an enjoyment to read the book ( as a whole, though some part of it seems to me too redundent with academic-like details)

Life on a Horse Farm
A truly wonderful gift for any child interested in animals and how they live! I gave it to my grandchildren and only wish I would have had something similar for my children!

This is a great book!
LIFE ON A HORSE FARM is one of the most illustrative and interesting books on the market for young children. It features a family who takes care of and trains horses for the race track. Some interesting highlights of this book are
1. An illustrative look at the parts of the horse
2. A step by step look at the birth of a foal
3. Communication between horses
4. Health concerns when dealing with horses
5. Chores to be done in the barn
6. Special training for racehorses headed to the track

7. Fun facts about horses
8. Websites that will allow readers to learn more about horses
9. A glossary with unfamiliar horse terms defined
AND MUCH MORE!

I definetly reccomend this book. It is the best, most informative horse farm book on the market. Also be sure to check out other "Life on the Farm" books by Judy Wolfman.

Great for horse lovers
Kids who have never been near a horse will find this book of great interest. The photos and story go well together, as Sarah Mills (the girl who lives on the horse farm) tells about her life on the horse farm. These horses are bred for racing - lots of new material here. Any child will love it. (Adults too!)

Love the pictures!
I used this book to get an idea of what kind of window treatments I want to make. This book is simple to read and understand and I can't wait to put it into practice.

the worst book on the subject I've ever seen
the instructions are so badly phrased and illustrated, it's next to useless. I am an experienced sewer, have made lots of draperies, just needed a refresher, and instructions on interlining. There are no instructions on interlining, and the language of instruction is so inexact I simply can't figure out what she's talking about. Same for the illustrations, and I'm a artist (painter) who reads engineering drawings as easily as written language. The least of the faults of this book is that it gives no basic overview of what's possible, and the esthetic exercised is ... well, irrelevant to mine. By the way, I have constructed clothing for fashion shows for pattern companies here in New York.

Excellent source for seemingly complicated swags
This book is a great source for step by step instruction on swags. Several styles to choose from, breaks down the seemingly complicated swags and jabots and walks you through the instruction.

Excellent Primer and MUST have book
Here the author stretches to show you repeatedly how to break down what appears to be a difficult project into a very approachable project. This book is both a technique book as well as a project book. You CAN complete this project from all that is provided in this book.

Take the time to study the examples and question why those choices were made. This book has volumes to teach you as well as aid your growth as an accomplished quilter. There is such joy in mastering points and excelling in this art of quilting and this book is a marvelous practical gift to yourself.

A great addition to any quilter's library.
I have taken a Mariner's Compass class from Judy, and I have both her MC books. They are great! I highly recommend them.

An easily understood book with inspiring examples
This books covers the lotwith regard to designing a Mariner's Compass quilt. The author uses examples of her own work as well as others. There are excellent instructions on how to create your own quilt using a variety of piecing techniques. The examples given cover a range of colour themes. One of my favourite books.

Amazing, unique book
My mom gave me this book recently to celebrate my pregnancy with her first grandchild. I love reading about my baby's development each week, and it's wonderful to have a weekly page to write my thoughts, feelings, or prayers. The pictures are breathtaking, and the scripture quotes and prayers are perfect. This book is even more special to us because Dr. Wells is the obstetrician who delivered me 25 years ago! :)

Love this book
This book was given to me as a gift when I was pregnant with my first child. It is a beautifully written book that will inspire any mother-to-be. The prayers and quotes in the book are wonderful meditations for expectant moms. The photos are amazing. They let you see in utero what the baby looks like during it's development at many different stages. The journal pages allow you to record your thoughts and feelings about your pregnancy each week. This is a must have book for any expectant mom. It makes a great gift!

A loving, thoughtprovoking way to wait for your baby's birth
I throughly am appreciating this book as I wait for my child to be born. The photos are beautiful and help me visualize my child growing daily. Each week's fetal development is wonderfully described through combining the actual anatomical facts with an acknowledgment of God's hand in this amazing process. The prayer each week touches my heart. This book helps me slow down for just a moment to hear God's Spirit working to ready my life for my child. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is at all amazed by this miracle of life: growing a baby within her womb.

Misty Embrace is a wonderful book. Judy Kaylene Richey draws you to the situations and struggles her characters go through. I was awed at her ability to write a story so emotionally charged. This book is a definitely "Buy" if you enjoy good reading. Best of Luck to a entertaining and good new writer.

Misty Embrace
I absolutely love time travel! This book held me in thrall. I had a hard time putting it down to get on with every day life. Judy Kaylona Richey held me in suspense throughout the book wondering where Shalyn would end up & if Patrick would find out & believe her. Don't pass up this book.

Misty Embrace
Very well written, entertaining and enlightning. It is a very nicely written love story that tears at the heart. I hope Judy keeps writing for a long long time.
