Lovely gift for a mom-to-be
This book would make a lovely gift for a mom-to-be, a book to be savored during the nine months of pregnancy and beyond. It's kind of like a crash course in motherhood for new moms, overflowing with thought-provoking readings on what it means to be a mother, but putting it that way makes it sound boring, which it is not at all. It's an amazingly poetic and beautifully designed book.

Five stars from pregnancy book author Ann Douglas
This book is the ideal gift for any mother-to-be. It features thought-provoking mini-essays about how pregnancy transforms you, and the text is liberally sprinkled with quotations from literature, interesting cultural facts, and eye-catching photos and illustrations. It's kind of a cross between The Pregnant Woman's Comfort Book by Jennifer Louden and The Pregnancy Journal by A. Christine Harris -- two other books that I love. Celebrating Motherhood is a very special book indeed. I intend to include in the list of recommended readings for future editions of my books The Mother of All Pregnancy Books and The Mother of All Baby Books. Highly recommended.

Like a comfy chair...
If you don't need information on the medical aspects of pregnancy or if you're like me and have a full shelf of expert opinions on motherhood and pregnancy, this might just be the book for you. It's short reading selections from a variety of sources and traditions, meant to keep you sane and centered during pregnancy and motherhood. I purchased it at about 7 months and feel like I will keep reading it after baby arrives. It's also a good gift idea for a pregnant friend who already has enough bouncy seats, pacifiers, diapers, baby doo-dads, and other "necessities."

Read this book and recharge your Mommy batteries.

A MUST READ
When I finished this book, I had a new respect for Judy Nelson. With everything that has been said and printed about her she still finds it in herself to let us in and get to know her a little better. Since the only things that we really knew before her books, was that she left her husband and kids for another woman, she took alot of heat for that from both sides, gay and straight. She took even more heat when the two women parted company and her first book. It takes real strength and character to come through all of this and still refuse to tear Martina apart like she has done to Judy. I for one really thank Ms. Nelson for her honesty.

Absolutely "Riveting"
This book was magnificent. If you have ever been in love and lost that love, this is the book you need to read. I have read her first book"Love Match" and it was wonderful, but this book is "double" wonderful. She seems at peace finally and once again happy with her life. And if anyone deserves it, it is Ms. Nelson. She helped me in my time of crisis. I lost someone very special to me, and I read her book. The courage she exemplifies, made me feel like I had a friend to talk to. She is a wonderful person, makes you feel like she is your best friend. I truly hope she writes another wonderful book.

What a book!!!
This book, is a definate for anyone who needs the courage to make difficult choices in their lives. Judy Nelson has become a heroine of mine just for her convictions and her honesty. I really related to her. I read Love Match but found her changed and "still" in this one. I wish she would write more!!!

EXQUISITE
This book shines with an exquisite simplicity and straightforwardness. The authors' knowledge in using colors will enhance and bring passion to any relationship. Gloria Van Dam, R.N., BSCN.

A rethink on my underwear!
This book made me take a critical look at my underwear! I became aware that the colour of your undies has an effect on the mood you exude! Gone were the white comfy cotton knickers and sensible sports bra if I wanted to send out a beckoning message to the opposite sex! Not only that, what you wear is what you feel. If you want to feel sexy, this book is a must read before you do anything else!

THIS BOOK WILL OPEN YOUR EYES!
This book really opened my eyes and my awareness for betterromantic strategies. I loved the "MASTER STROKES" chapterwhich gives the reader great new ideas for color, sex and clothing toset the scene for a successful romance.

Excellent resource for couples of all ages
I'm almost sad that they called this an "Idiot's Book" because it makes it seem like the information in here is very low-level. It's actually incredibly helpful for all levels of couples - from those who have never dated anyone else before to those who have dated quite a bit but now want to learn more about their relationship.

There are chapters on everything in here - cheating on the internet, the way you deal with your partner's parents, dealing with losses, your arguing styles, how you criticize each other, working through sexual incompatabilities, you name it. I can't imagine any couple that couldn't learn a few things by reading through this. Even if one partner reads it and then talks to the other about the key topics, it'll help a relationship shake out the kinks.

Highly recommended.

A must have relationship guide!
My boyfriend and I read this together (out loud) and discussed it as we read it. We started our relationship with this book. I feel that because we discussed everything from the start our relationship grew and was healthy from the start. (we are now married) I recomend this book to all my friends from the ones just starting out to the ones having problems. It helps you learn more about yourself as well as your partner. No this book doesn't tell you... this has to be this way etc. etc. (it doesn't catagorize you, or put you into separtate groups) It's more like a get you thinking kind of book, which in turn opens you up to your feeling, emotions, and your partner. If you take the time to read it you won't regret buying this book!

Great book for rebuilding your marriage
Easy to read and discuss with your partner. This book has a lot of excellent information and good ideas for getting a sliding relationship back on track. I recommend each parntner reading a chapter, then taking 30 to 60 minutes to discuss it together. I especially enjoyed the quizzes.

Corking

Great book for all ages
This is a great introduction to fiber crafts. First, you make a spool knitter from either a toilet paper roll or empty can. Then once you are knitting, it gives some very creative ideas for using the results. I'd put it up there with "Kids Knitting" by Melanie Falick as a great fiber book for kids.

We spent hours doing knitting spools (corking) as kids
Now there is a book to list projects to do with these long knitted snakes. We never did know what to do with them (other than sew a boring dog mat.) We spent hours knitting with Red Heart varigated yarn in bright crayon colors, admiring the changing hues. This is a fun activity book for kids, and corking is great for long car rides.

If you like "corking" or spool knitting, try frame knitting. This is a technique where you loop yarn around two rows of nails on parallel bars of wood. The loops are lifted over the nails just as in spool knitting. The resulting fabric can be used as a scarf or shawl, depending on how wide the frame is made. (You can buy these, but they are a nice wood project for father-mother/son-daughter.) The art teacher in our elementary school had kids make these frames, then knit long swatches of knitting. The resulting wildly colored fabrics were displayed at an open house and were a huge hit. They looked like Mexican serapes and were just stunning. You can use yarn from clearance sales and really have your kids experience the joy of creating handcrafts.

Lots More Than Just Potholders
This is the best book on corking (spool knitting) that I've ever found. It includes directions for making several sizes of corkers from materials you probably already have around the house and a lot of different projects not just the potholders that everyone remembers learning how to make when they were kids. This book shows you how to make bendable animals, baby mittens, finger puppets, socks and much more. The directions are clear and easy to follow. I started a six and a ten year old corking and have had several requests to make corkers for their friends.

A fresh new voice in Romance
Judy Duarte writes a skillfully rendered story. Cowboy Courage is a delightful summer read.

Cowboy Courage
"Cowboy Courage" was a delight to read. I had a hard time putting the book down. The characters seemed so real. I felt like they all could of been part of my own family. Poor Lauren could be my sister finding out about a dishonst relationship. Cole is the man of many women's dreams.
Take a chance amd read this book you will not be sorry!!

If you love cowboys, you'll love this one.
This book is full of tangled family situations, small town hospitality and a handsome cowboy. Cole and Lauren are from opposite worlds -- she's from upscale California and he's from a small Texas town. It's hard to put the book down. I loved it from the start.

Creative Correspondence by Michael Jacobs, Judy Jacobs
Fantastically inspiring book. Made me drop it and make a unique piece of correspondence!

A must have for those who work with paper projects.
A must have for anyone who works with paper. More than just a project book, the Jacobs have put together a complete explanation of so many aspects of working with paper that no other book covers. The photographs and directions are easily understood explaining tools, paper types, basic measuring, cutting, folding and decorating paper. All the projects are very very creative and offer variations on the ideas. From the postcards to the notecards and envelopes this book is a great source of ideas and inspiration.

It's Creative and Sometimes It's Art!
These folks have actually taught workshops to real people. You can tell. The directions and photos are accurate and easy to follow. The projects are the simple, open-ended kind that should get the creative juices flowing. No one should ever again send plain-Jane boring mail. Reuse, recycle, collage! Thank you, Creative Zone!

Excellent addition to the long history of Crewel
Judy has added her own style and creativity to the ongoing tradition of crewelwork. She has used the various stitches in ways that are new and really guides the embroiderer to create beautiful crewel pieces. She hasn't just reworked the traditional stitches, but shows how to combine them in unique ways with modern colors and materials. She has "raised the bar" in the art of crewelwork. An excellent book for beginner and advanced crewelworker alike.

Absolutely Wonderful!
I have been watching my mother experiment with different embroidery techniques, fabrics, and stiches as long as I can remember. It is wonderful seeing the years of her work summed up in this great book. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Crewel Embroidery!

Excellent book for anyone who wants to know about Crewel.
I am the author's daughter and growing up, my most vivid memories of my mother is of she and her embroidering friends, sitting in our living room, chatting away about fabrics, stitches and the art of crewel embroidery. I, myself, have only begun the journey of discovery and self-expression throught the art of stitching. My mother's book is an excellent introduction to any newcomers or veteran stitchers.

You can't go wrong with any book by Judy Herr
All of her books are terrific. And while they may seem like they're exclusively for early childhood educators, they're not. Parents can get a lot out of them, too. I know I do.

Every toddler teachers must have book
This book is great for infant and toddlers. This book breaks down activites into developmental stages. That way you are not planning an activity that is not developmentally inappropriate for children.

Great for Infants and Toddlers!
This book has been a wonderful tool for our infant and toddler program. It gives the break-down for the different developmental areas for these children. It provides wonderful goals and activities to help enhance the skills of the kids. Our caregivers found it irreplaceable to reach milestones for appropriate age groups. Regardless of where my teaching career takes me I will maintain a copy of this book in every center/program I work.

The Demon Headmaster

The Demon Headmaster
The Demon Headmaster is a very gripping book. The T.V series has also brought a little bit of life into theseries of books by Gillian Cross. Overall, the epic tales of the Demon Headmaster and his plots and trickery to get hold of Dinah Hunter dipict a whole world of imaginative text in a sort of realistic realism. The book is a great oppurtunity for children of all ages to establish a truly great reading experience. I would recommend this book to all ages, especially the older teenage readers who like to get into a bit of sci-fi/adventure genre. By Ravindran Uthayakumar

The demond headmaster book review
I really like the book from Gillian Cross. It sound scary when the demond hemaster is speaking. I like the part when he kept taking Deaina's blood with a neadle. And I also like the bit when Deaina got to school late and when the demond headmaster hyipnotize the children taking off his glasses. And when Havey likes Diana & Lloyd. And Havey lies and said he's going to the toilets but he looks in the hall and Ian saw him. I like the older children take diana to the headmasters office and she kept asking qustions.

The deamond headmaster
The book is good and you should buy it people. The deamond head master is bad when he hipnotisses the children, but I like it alot so buy it people out there and I like the bit when the deamond head master digs the pin into her finger. And I like the bit when the boys take their combs and brush their hair at the same time. And it is sad when the girl go's to soshoul services. And it is sad when her mum died.
