Loved It!
I loved the case of the Game Show Mystery! It is really good, it is one of my favorite books in the series! Here is a summary of the book. Mary Kate and Ashley have just won a chance to play on their favorite game show Double Trouble. They are really excited, but when they get there they have yet another case to crack. Someone seems detirmened to make sure Mary Kate and Ashley lose. Mary Kate and Ashley have to figure out who is causing all the trouble before it is too late! I hope you decide to read this book! It is great!

My favorite "New Adventures" book!
This book wasn't like other "New Adventures" book. The Case of the Game Show Mystery actually had an interesting story line.Plus, what made it a good read was that it was both fictitious but realistic in a way. This book is about when Mary-Kate & Ashley are picked to be contestants in their favorite TV show, "Double Trouble". But there is someone who wants them to lose...BAD. Well, that's all I can say;cuz if I say more, I'll give you too many clues that when you'll be reading it, you'll have the mystery solved before the famous Trenchcoat Twins have! :-)

The Center Ring
This is a wonderful, innovative approach to the art of clowning. A must have for all clowns, beginners and experienced. The stories and photography add a delightfully creative piece to this charming book.

The Marvelous!
This is one of the great surrealist masterpieces of l'art brut! One can hardly imagine such thoughts passing through the minds of Breton et al. If anything, I was put in the mind of Gacy when reading this tome. Please, please read this book and wonder why words are sufficient to not describe the horror and the joy of clowns. A remarkable masterpiece. read it and know de Sade.

Cicle of Magic: City by the Sea
I loved this book! I took it out of my teachers library but didn't read it for a while. Once i did though, I couldn't stop.
I loved it so much that i stole it from my teacher. The carecters are very deatailed for such a short book.I especialy love the fact that its all about magic. It is a must read.

Excellent reading.
My sister bought me this book and it sat on my shelf for about 5 months. Once I finally began to read it I couldn't put it down. After I learned that it was part of a series of books I went out and bought them all. The reading and length of the book is very easy. A little to easy, at a junior high level, but sometimes I even go back and read the book again because the plot and characters were so finely constructed.

Clay Homes
I have always enjoyed reading this book to my two-year-old. We both enjoy the illustrations and the simple story that says so much! I know that it will be a favorite for years to come!

Great Book Reinforcing Mission Study to younger children
I teach a missions class for young girls in my church. I found this book, 'Clay Homes', written by Judy Langley and illustrated by Wendy Kikugawa to be simple enough for the children to understand. The large print was easy for my younger students to read, yet the older ones enjoyed reading the story, also. The illustrations by Wendy Kikugawa were colorful and appropriate for the story.

Clear Speech from the Start Audio CDs : Basic Pronunciation and Listening Comprehension in North American English
Published in Unknown Binding by Cambridge University Press (2001)
Author: Judy B. Gilbert
Amazon base price: $56.00
Average review score:

It's good book
If you have some problem of English pronounciation,
You should use it.
Because it is really useful for them, and
it is really helpful.
So, you should use it if you have some problems.

Now ESL beginners can build clear pronunciation!
Conventional wisdom in the ESL/EFL world holds that pronunciation should not be taught at the beginning level. It's just too technical, requiring complicated descriptions and explanations for which beginning students don't have the vocabulary.

But if there were a way to make the material accessible? Even beginners need to communicate clearly -- intelligible speech fosters successful academic, work, and social interactions, and that's got to be encouraging for the student! Judy Gilbert's well-planned approach makes clear pronunciation truly accessible to beginners. The book -- rightly so -- limits the pronunciation points to those that are most urgently needed for intelligibility. The principle areas covered are: (1) the alphabet: using letters to spell out loud for clarification, (2) decoding spelling/reading words: using simple spelling rules to predict the pronunciation of a word, (3) syllable number: developing awareness of the number of syllables in words and phrases, being sure not to add unnecessary syllables or to omit necessary ones, (4) syllable stress: lengthening stressed vowels and reducing unstressed ones, (5) word connections: linking words together (this improves both listening comprehension and the smoothness of the student's speech), (6) the music of English: the pitch contours and rhythm of the language, and (7) articulation: t/d, s/z, l/r/n, and th.

There are some very cool things in this book for pronunciation teachers and learners. For example, there are tongue shape drawings looking from the back of the tongue to the front and out the mouth. Can't picture it? You'll have to see it to believe it! Along with the traditional front and side views, this new perspective really helps you visualize what's going on inside your mouth to produce a specific sound. I only wish there were drawings for all the American English vowels and consonants!! (But then it wouldn't be a beginning textbook, would it?)

I also like the vowel pronunciation rules. Example: the letters 'ai' are pronounced like the first letter [a] in the combination. Think: straight, complaint. Then, in the appendix, a percentage is given for how often the rule works, in this case, 95% of the time. This will give the student the confidence to guess how a new word is pronounced, take 'restraint', for example, but not stress out when the rule doesn't work, as in 'plaid'.

There are many helpful graphics in the book. Two of my favorites are the extra-wide bolded letters for stressed vowels (I think you can visualize that) and the diminishing letters for continuant sounds (Thatsssokay. The storezzznearrrMain [the second and third s's, z's, and r's have decreasing font sizes]).

I've been looking for a book like this for a long time. Mostly, I do corporate accent and pronunciation training and executive speech coaching with foreign-born clients who have a high intermediate to advanced command of English. But occasionally, I am asked to train employees who have a lower level of English. This is definitely the book I'll choose for them! Trainees can apply the basic concepts they learn to company-specific vocabulary and technical terms.

I only wish all learners of North American English could start out with this book...

A Great Key to Unlock the Treasures of the Mountains in N.C.
As a former North Carolina resident, our secret's out. "Coasting the

finest arts and crafts, antiques and an abundance of natural beauty and
outdoor activities. And it is! This guidebook covers a 200 mile

A Jaunty Read Even for the Armchair Traveler
Editorial Review

Call dibs on the shotgun seat as four enthusiastic travelers take you on a lively ride through western North Carolina in "Coasting the Mountains". The authors are friends...whose love of discovery shines through.

Their personal insights validate our enthusiasm for places we've visited and whet our appetites for those we haven't. Scattered throughout the book are recipes gathered during their rambles as well as boxes with notes of interest, little-known facts and insider tips. Plus they steer travelers to the best shopping and antiquing.

"Coasting the Moutains" is thorough and a lot more fun than most guidebooks.

THE DOCTOR DELIVERS-Nick and Liza-SPOILERS
Favorite scene with Liza-at the nursery school

Favorite scene with Nick-telling his ex he wants a paternity test

Together-finally telling each other they love each other

Highly Satisfying !
Liza Colton was a singer and she lost her voice because of stress, her mother's pushiness and from the disappearance of her beloved cousin, Emily. She finds herself in Dr. Nick Hathaway's hands when she went to a doctor to cure her throat. Next thing she knows, she's living with Nick because someone threatened her with a big, sharp knife (The partner of the person who kidnapped Emily) because they think Liza knows where Emily is. (Emily went into hiding) They have this mutual attraction but Nick refuses to believe in it because he was emotionally damaged by his marriage to his first wife. He also thinks that Liza is like his first wife, when in actuality they're as different as pickles and cabbages.

THE DOCTOR DELIVERS is the other part to I MARRIED A SHEIK. And like the previous book, THE DOCTOR DELIVERS shows a bit of Emily's story and it's really smart how the author would keep you hooked to the book.

THE DOCTOR DELIVERS is a very good read and I recommend this to readers who like stories that are in series.

The Comical Tragedy of Punch and Judy
Published in Paperback by Slave Labor Publications (23 January, 2002)
Authors: Christopher P. Reilly and Darron Laessig
Amazon base price: $6.95
Average review score:

Why did it take hundreds of years?
Forget the statical drone of Neil Gaimen's torturous Mr. Punch. This is the best insight into the Punch and Judy mythos ever!
Why did it take hundreds of years for someone to figure out that there was an audience for this story?
If you have ever wanted to read the story of Mr. Punch in its entirety, this is probably as close as you can get.

the Old is new, again!
For those of you on the Western side of the Atlantic, where Punch and Judy
shows were not a major mind-warp of your childhood, this book's going to give
you a good insight into why the British grow up the way they do. This
It is a fairly straight adaptation of the story of Mr Punch, if indeed
it's possible to define the story from its many sources and variations. It's
written and researched by Christopher P Reilly, so what's been produced is a
decent, authoritative version with occasional (and forgivable) flights into
scripting whimsy. If it had footnotes or a reading list it would be even better.
Darron Laessig's art is perfect - it looks, as
it should do, like a particularly warped cartoon. This comic looks lovely,
and it's educational. You'll thank yourself for picking it up.
