Competition obedience : a balancing act
Published in Unknown Binding by Jabby Productions ()

Excellent!
This is such a comprehensive book! As someone new to competition obedience, I have been devouring any material on the subject I can find. This is one book I'll be referring to for years to come. It covers every detail of obedience training (from new puppies to advanced work) in very clear, easy-to-understand language with appropriate photos and illustrations. Because various methods of training certain exercises are shown, trainers can choose what works best with their particular dogs. This book will help anyone starting out in competition obedience to get off on the right foot, avoid training errors and have fun with their dog.

Competition Obedience:A Balancing Act
I have trained dogs and participated in obedience trials for 37 years. I am a seminar, video tape, obedience book "junkie" and have probably bought 90% of all the materials published on the subject of dog obedience. I have found this book the most complete on the market. It is not only very readable, but very tolerant of various methods of approaching a training exercise. At the same time both authors are quite honest and realistic about warning novice trainers of common errors in hasty and careless training. This is a very worthwhile book and would make
a perfect Christmas, birthday, anniversary or any occasion gift for both the novice and experienced dog trainer interested in obedience competition.

A great book for certification review
This was the book that helped me the most during my review for the neonatal nursing certification exam.

The "Bible" of Neonatal Assessment
This text is complete, extending to family issues as well as the neonate. An invaluable resource in the NICU, or on the shelf of a neonatal provider. Ms Kenner and her associates have produced a life's work of priceless reference!

A treasure trove of great ideas
This book is terrific. It's packed with fun and inspiring ideas that work just as well at home as in a preschool setting. I find that I turn to this helpful book time and time again when researching my own parenting articles and books. Highly recommended.

A Great Resource and Guide for Planning
I have had this book for only one week and love it. It helps me plan by month and breaking the month down to week by week. I teach 3 year olds and they have enjoyed the items I have selected. These children are very challenging and to keep them occupied in "learning fun' is a challenge.

A Gem of a Resource for Understanding Bipolar Disorder
Our society is finally getting to the point of understanding
and appreciating mental illness, and bipolar disporder (manic-
depression) in particular. Just as those with physical
disabilities, it's time to mainstream rather than isolate those
who struggle with biploar disorder. 'Delusional' gives us keen
insight into what REAL people have to contrend with in battling
this illness. Judy Feder is to be admired for her 26-year
struggle and victory with bipolar disorder. For anyone not
going through the same struggle, the story of her life allows
the reader to 'walk a mile in her shoes'. This is a good book
to read, reflect on, and add to your collection. It will
hopefully change the way you view mental illness for the better.

Truly Remarkable, Honest, Personable Self-Portrayal of a MD
Judy Feder's 212 page autobiographical accounting of her personal battle with manic depression is truly more riveting than fiction. It covers over 26 years of bi-polar warfare. It is brilliantly written. In a very easy to understand language, that is down-to-earth, it will make a great movie.

taking the first painless step toward designing a quilt
I had a wonderful beige/yellow print of various lions. I wanted to cut up the lions--the lions came in different shapes, making them difficult to fit into a traditional pattern, like a sawtooth star. With Judy's book, I was able to design a quilt using the lions in different shapes, plus a variety of hand-dyed prints, creating a soft look, almost camouflaging the lions. I choose a pattern that best fit the lions, then worked with her concepts (although I didn't exactly follow her plan) to design the quilt. For anyone who wants to start designing your own quilt, but still need a little direction, this book is perfect!

Menu-Based method makes it easy to make great quilts.
My mother wrote this book and tested its premise on me and my friend many years ago. Neither of us had ever made a quilt. We followed the instructions for selecting fabrics and combining them and made two very different quilts that we were each immensely pleased with. Mom gave us our basic piecing instruction in person, but she does a very nice job of explaining the basics clearly in the book. This book has been updated with a lot of wonderful quilts made by mom and the many quilting friends she has made in her classes and travels. There are many different types of quilts pictured, from the traditional to the very contemporary, all using mom's menu-based method. Even people who don't consider themselves "creative" can make great quilts with this method.

Doggie Doings : A Complete Reference for Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Teton Valley, Idaho

Excellent Book for our trip to Jackson Hole w/our dogs
Imagine piling into the car with 4 kids, luggage and 3 dogs for your next vacation and not having any idea as to what you can do with the dogs once you get there. That was us last summer, heading off to Jackson Hole, and had it not been for this book which was refered to us by another friend, we would have never taken our dogs with us. It explains where good areas our to take your dogs, what to expect if you run into wildlife...bears etc. We never did, but we were prepared thanks to this book. The author did a wonderful job of reasearching all the valuable information in this book. Becuase of the information in this book, the whole family, from the kids tro the pets had a great time. If you are planning a trip to the Jackson Hole area with your pet, this is a MUST read before, and during your trip!!!

World Class Info for a World Class Spot
Does your dog dislike being left alone? More importantly, do you have a hard time leaving your dog, even for world-class travel destinations? Whether you are a would-be traveler to Jackson Hole Wyoming, or a local with a dog, this book will help and inspire you. "Doggy Doings" is, as the title says, a complete reference of information you will find nowhere else. There are chapters that will give you specific and immediately useful information such as where you can go hiking with your dog. For some reason, I particularly enjoyed the chapters with more "surprising" information: chapters that offered the kind of tidbits you like to think you never will need -- such as what to do if you and your dog encounter large wild animals -- bears or moose. The chapter on dealing with any type of emergency made for suspenseful reading. In all likelihood, most of us never will encounter those situations: the majority of the book deals with all the pleasures that you and your dog hope to find and can expect to find in one of the most beautiful spots on earth. This book, like the area it describes and helps you to access, is truly one of a kind. I highly recommend it and wish there were one like it for every area of the country. I liked how the book took into acount and reached for a true community of people, environment and animals. You will both enjoy and use this book.

Dogs and Puppies at Your Fingertips
This book is a great encyclopedic/generalized reference bookfor the K-3 child, depending upon reading and comprehension level. My girlfriends highly advanced 3 1/2 year old will love to have it read to her! It helps to fermilarize children with some popular breeds of dog. This would be a good gift idea if you're shopping, with your child, for a first puppy (but, please also talk with a vet and breeder for more specific breed info, and to find a breed that would best fit your families life style!). Loved the tabs of doggie heads peeking out from the pages! END
