Just what I was looking for
I've been looking for a good pruning book for three years and have been disappointed with all of them. This is the first book that actually explains ALL aspects of the why and how to prune with just the right amount of technical detail. The encyclopedia section lists each tree/shrub with a picture and does something that no other book I've found does, it tells you when to prune EACH tree instead of just providing some broad generic statements like so many other books. If you need to prune anything in your yard, get this book.

The easy way to being an expert pruner!
This book explains pruning in easy to understand illustrations and pictures. It shows how to prune nearly anything and does it in a way that is easy to understand and easy to remember. Anyone can correctly prune their shrubs, vines, and trees by following this book. A good index makes it easy to find a specific plant that needs pruning.

All about prunning
I have been searching for a book for prunning vines. After looking at a dozen titles in the library, I bought the book "Ortho's All about prunning". It's the only book that I found that explains everything in point form and has very good pictorial descriptions.

For a One-Volume . . .
If you don't want to buy the literally encyclopedic multi-volume Oxford English Dictionary, this is the one to get. You'll still get more words than most of us use on a regular basis! If you're looking to increase your vocabulary with a word of the day, this is a great place to start.
And most new words inserted into the 'Macro' Oxford each year make their way into the newer editions of this classic.
It may not be as cheap as some of the others, but it's the best bang for the buck.

I learn something everytime that I open it.
I only bought this dictionary because David Foster Wallace constantly raves about the "OED", which is a full (and expensive) twenty volume set. So this (...) book was more in my price range. Despite it's shorter length, I have definitely got more than my money's worth in this book. Sometimes I take a break from my day and pick it up and browse through the pages. Besides being able to find over 99% of the words for which I've searched, it's got an uncountable number of historical, geographical, etc. facts and backgrounders. If you're a learning nerd, this is a good book to have.

Tne best reference dictionary !
Believe me, when you are going to find a reference dictionary, This book is always the first chioce. That's why I bought it.

Rainbow the Stormy Life of Judy Garland

The Best of Garland Biographies
It is a shame that this book is currently out of print, for it is to my mind the only completely satisfying biography of entertainer Judy Garland available. Finch not only writes about Garland's life in well researched, eloquent prose, his work also provides a broad overview of the world and times in which Garland both worked and lived, with considerable reference to those who shaped her personality and her art, and who contributed to both public and private successes and failings. Truly a masterpiece of the biography genre, drenched with seldom-seen photographs as well.

ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC!
This is doubtless one of the greatest books ever written on the legendary Judy Garland! When you read this book you KNOW how much work has been put into it. So many wonderful insights from Mr. Finch. It's not one of those Judy-does-no-wrong books where the author simply trusts her word. Here, Mr.Finch question what she said and analyses it. Like what she says about her mother being an evil stage mom watching her from the wings. He has done lots of research to prove what he has written. Many articles from local papers following the activities of the Gumm Sisters. Judy sister Virginia says alot in this book aswell. And lots of great pictures too! I couldn't put it down, it's wonderful. Greatly entertaining. I hear this book is pretty hard to find, so good luck. It's definetly worth the search.

A lovely look at an incredible talent
Truly, this book is a labor of love. I would like to take the time to thank Mr. Finch for his hard work in researching and putting together this wonderful book. A collector's item, to be sure. I cherish my copy, as they are almost impossible to find, these days. Thank you again, Mr. Finch.

Best Scary Story Book for Kids and Teens!
This is, without a doubt, the scariest book for young adults. The stories are told with a creepy voice, and the pictures add to the mood. I highly recommend it!

Casey Luv's Scary Stories
The Scary Storie Reader was great. Almost all of my classmates checked it out of the library. I was lucky because the library only has 1 copy and I managed to get a hold on it. After I started to read a few stories, I could see why everyone wanted it. It had terrifying stories! I gave this book 5 stars because it really deserves it for its thrilling horror stories and its well written chapters. I recommend you buy this book or at least check it out of the library if you haven't already. It was truly a good book.

Silent Cradle - Help and Understanding in Time of Preg Loss
I have suffered three miscarriages/stillbirths. I have been given lots of things to read, etc. But this book helped me like no other (besides the Bible) to work through my grief and recover. I am so surprised and saddened that this book is out of print. I give this book to anyone I come across who has experienced miscarriage or stillbirth.

Silent Cradle: Help and Understanding in Time of Pregnancy L
I work with grieving parents who lose children via miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy, or early infant loss. I am constantly on the lookout for information that is practical, easy to understand, and compassionate. Silent Cradle is the best of the best, and I frequently recommend it as a "must have." The journaling exercises are invaluable to those navigating their way through the turbulent waters of grief.

A must-read for anyone who has lost a baby.
I lost my precious little boy exactly a month ago today. Silent Cradle was sent to me by a friend, and it has been such a great help. It is written by someone who's been there, and it was such a relief to know that everything that I have felt, and am still feeling, is normal and has been felt by others. This book has given me such comfort, just to know that I am not alone in my grief, and that there is hope even in the face of such devastating heartbreak.

Superb Resource
This is the best book about congenital malformations available for general pediatricians. It is highly accessible and fairly easy to use. It really helps one put together a differential diagnosis for children with dysmorphic features. The price makes it a bargain that should be in every general pediatric clinic.

I do have one suggested improvement: This book is perfect for conversion into a searchable CD-ROM so that one could simply key in the list of features and get back a list of possible syndromes ranked by likelihood.

Outstanding, easily assimilated clinical reference
This is a really outstanding clinical reference. It is of particular relevance to genetic counselors, pediatric specialists, dermatologists, and other clinicians who frequently encounter patients with congenital anomalies and uncommon syndromes. Although the clinical photos are in black and white (no color), they are well chosen to illustrate the features of the (many) syndromes discussed. I have seen several texts that cover roughly the same subject matter as Smith's Recognizable Patterns of Human Malformation; however, none are as comprehensive or nearly as easy to use. I expect this text will replace MEDLINE as my initial go-to reference when I need to get info regarding patients with uncommon congenital syndromes. This text would be a bargain at twice the price! I recommend it most highly

Totally cool!
That's my mom!!!I'm so glad she got to write this book, and got to enjoy the world travels that she has done, and the others that she will be doing. She is a great mentor to me. She raised me and my sister the best she could, we got to travel alot, going to motorcycle races, etc. I hope everyone reads this book, it is really great, and proves that dreams can become reality.

Excellent book for those who can only dream...
This book was very inspiring, a single woman, who raised 2 daughters on her own, and still had time to fulfil her dreams (without a man, no doubt). To race motorcycles, you go girl!!! I am really looking forward to your next book, keep on writing, and keep your dreams alive.

Definitely an inspiring book for dreamers!
This book is great. How a young single woman with 2 daughters, who did everything she always wanted in her life,(without a man, no doubt) I truly admire her in her accomplishments, and to race motorcycles, you go girl! Keep on writing, looking forward to your next book.......

Unusual meals with a southwest spice to them
Southwestern Soups, Stews & Skillet Suppers provides a dual focus on quick dishes and unusual meals with a southwest spice to them, from a spicy chili-enhanced chorizo chowder to a spicy eggplant stew for two or a barbecued beans and sausage skillet. While color photos are peppered throughout, the focus is on adaptations of traditional dishes and new Southwest dishes which require little preparation.

Mouthwatering recipes that you will use over and over!
This is the kind of cookbook I like to get my hands on. Indeed, the team of Judy Walker and Kim MacEachern have created another gem. Vivid photography will make your mouth water and you will not want to wait for cooler weather to prepare these tempting culinary delights. Desert Fish Soup, Cast Iron Pot Brown Stew, Winter Squash Stew, Skillet Enchiladas, Easy Chicken Pot Pie (which is a delectable "no-brainer"), Jalapeno Blue-Corn Muffins and my personal favorite, Lentil Lime Soup, are among the tasty choices this very "hands on" cookbook offers. I suggest you purchase two,(like I did) so you have a "pretty copy for your kitchen" as you will have the other book's spine split and the pages stained from constant use.

Southwest Cooking Made Easy
Once again Judy Walker has authored a cookbook that has plain, easy directions and the receipes don't use too many ingredients. Each receipe is labeled as Don't Miss, Second Time Around, Quick and Easy, Slow Cooker Family Favorite, Entertaining, etc. Alternative methods of cooking are sometimes included. Those not living in the SW will appreciate receipes for sauces and seasonings!

spa food
This book is as current as it gets low carbs high energy
it worked for me and over 200 people in our company. Real food that sticks to your ribs fabuleous desserts.

It's an opus of fine dining
I have thoroughly enjoyed the pleasures of the table with Spa Food. In one creative, instructive and inspiring volume, I was able to make impeccable, meals with ease. My friends thought I'enrolled in culinary school! Every kitchen needs this book.

Beautiful photos, delicious recipes, and inspiring text.
I pity those of you who cannot get this beautiful out-of-stock book, which contains delicious and interesting recipes that will wow the most discriminating palate but will not add inches to the waistline. The book begins with recipes for two "cleansing days," (to start you off on a good start in any diet) and adds complete meals of varying calorie counts. The emphasis in every menu is good taste and fresh ingredients. It even has menus for cocktail buffets and holiday feasts (turkey, dressing, and all the fixings for less than 850 calories per person--as compared with the usual 2500 calorie meal). In case you need a little inspiration to tackle some of the recipes (which, while full of ingredients--lots of herbs and flavorful fresh vegetables--are relatively easy to follow), the dramatic color photographs fill the bill. What's more, if you follow the recipe, your product will actually look just like the photograph.
