Vibrant energy, humor and wordplay
Best known for his traveled-the-world-over performance art, Edwin Torres's presence in print is unparalleled in its vibrancy. FRACTURED HUMOROUS is a book in five parts with interstices and dazzling graphics acting as the thread that holds the book together - as well as the tangents that fracture it. FRACTURED HUMOROUS is contagious in its energy and humor, stunning in its turns, convincing in its call to spend less time banking and more time being.

A great book
This book is almost perfect. It is a story of Eiji Yoshikawa's life as a child and as an adult. It will rouse all readers and completely absorb them into the story, just like all other stories by Eiji Yoshikawa.

Full Duty: Vermonters in the Civil War

An Outstanding Brigade History
FIVE STAR...By far, one of the best Civil War books I have ever read...Mr. Coffin's extensive research of newpapers and personal letters brings to life an often forgotten group of Civil War veterans. Previously, I was unfamiliar with the 2nd Vermont's spectacular role in the battle of Gettysburg. Mr. Coffin's easy to read, step-by-step approach to telling the 2nd Vermont's story from its inception thru its disbanding provides a wonderfully clear picture of what its brief tenure in the Army of the Potomac was like. I hope Mr. Coffin will take the time to write additional books on Vermont's role in the Civil War or other brigade histories. Great Book!!!!

The Gardens of China: History, Art and Meaning

How to Understand Chinese Gardens!
Edwin Morris, a botanist and scholar of Chinese culture, has written this methodical book to explain the Chinese gardens in their varieties, outlay, floral content and localities. It is an easy to read book, interspered with historical stories and a personal touch, which relate this ancient horticultural art to the modern times. There are many pictures for the readers to understand Morris' explanations. Art, poetry and culture are discussed in this excellent book that delights not only the gardener seeking the aesthetic, but the scholar, seeking solace and harmony with nature. Morris has extensively visited the gardens in China, and was a consultant in the installation of the Chinese Garden, Suzhou style, in the Metropolitan Museum of New York.

Absolutely essential time management and organization primer
This book was an inspiration that started me on a successful top management career. I've used this book in several leadership roles, over a 20-year period, as an motivational primer to set subordinates on a path to self-management and achievement. It's a quick and easy guide on how to get things done and to simplify your life too. Beats all of the other how-to books on time management that I've read, combined. Some of the basic management skills never change, no matter what the latest popular trend or fad.

Golden Flood

Author: Edwin Lefevre
Amazon base price: $14.95
Used price: $13.15

Average review score:

Page-turner. I could not put it down.
A classic! Mysterious and intriging. It is a short read and fast page turner. Like many of Lefevre's books it is set at the turn of the 20th century and with a finance background. It complements the more popular Reminiscences book, but shows Lefevre in a different light - that of the mystery writer. It is almost sinister in its plot.
