Excellent manual for novice and experienced salespeople
Joe Sowerby has culled from years of experience in at least two professions and numerous other expert's in the sales field to provide a valuable resource for the novice and the experienced professional. I am in the real estate finance field and agree with everything Joe presents in "It's Your Deal." His breezy style is easy and fast to read and I found it an excellent refresher course in what it takes to be a sucessful salesperson in any line of sales.
Street smart saleman speaks from Heart about success.
Very successful sales people know it can be simple things which trigger riches. This book can be all you need. I especially enjoyed discussions regarding consistent persistence, follow-up and wholeheartedly agree with need to just "ask for the order". This book offers little foo-foo and lots of practical advice.

Although you have to wonder just how much of this story was inflated by Joe Dogs, it still made for a great read. Joe makes no attempts to cover up the fact that he isn't a very good person but just tells his story like it is (with a few possible embellishments) in a way that can only pass for Joe Dogs' style. I have his "Mafia Cookbook" which includes some stories from his life as well.
companion for donnie brasco
this book is one of the funniest i've read since donnie brasco, not for the fan of shoot em up chop em up mob book.but funny the way joe dogs talks about "empty suits" when refering to FBI agents. The same incompetence donnie brasco found in his undercover work in the bonanno famiglia.good reading, couldn't put it down.

I can't say enough about these books!
The entire series is excellent!!! I have all four and I highly reccomend them. They teach science, literature, native american culture, and give children a respect for the natural world at the same time. (there is even the occasional bit of math thrown in). My son loves doing the activities with me! Excellent for unit studies!
Great for Homeschooling Ecology Unit
We use this book as a homeschool social studies/ecology resource. Each section begins with a Native American story related to the topic of the chapter, then moves on to a discussion of the subject matter. Each section also has activities/experiments, questions for review and discussion, and recommendations for materials for further study. My kids really look forward to each lesson in this book, because the information is presented in a fun manner, and the activities are appropriate for a wide-range of ages!

Important book
An important book on life insurance by the most knowledgeable author on the subject. THE book to read.
The definitive guide to life insurance.
Joseph Belth provides the analytical consumer with a rational, systematic approach to understanding personal insurable risk and how to transfer that risk to an insurance company. Readers can browse the chapters to get answers to questions specific to their individual situation, or read it cover-to-cover for a comprehensive overview. Of particular value are the strategies for assessing how good your policy is and whether it's a "good deal". Although a bit dated, it is still the best book on the subject. Those interested in a more current discussion of the industry, company ratings, and consumer issues are referred to Professor Belth's newsletter THE INSURANCE FORUM, PO Box 245, Ellettsville, Indiana, 47429.

Wonderful Book
This is not normally the genre of book I would read. I only did so because it was highly recommended by 2 friends. The pages seemed to turn themselves and I finished vowing to re-read it soon. It left me with a fresh outlook and enthusiasm to put my ideas into play! I highly recommend it to single and married people.

A tale of innocence and beauty!
The Little Jesus of Sicily can be read at many different levels. On the surface it is a captivating tale. At a deeper level, it is a voyage in time, an account of life in a rural Sicilian community, a reality that has almost vanished. Pasqualino ponders the loss of customs and traditions of his native village while reflecting on the impact of industrialization and modernization on society. It is possible to discern a still deeper level--a spiritual one where Pasqualino shares his Christian beliefs without ever resorting to pious platitudes. Imagination, poetry, and faith are at the core of Pasqualino's spiritual quest as he asks simple but fundamental questions about the meaning of existence. A profound meditation on the human condition, this novel depicts in great detail the hardships and the ordinary pleasures of day-to-day life while examining the beliefs and forces that sustain people through suffering and adversity. The novel renews a tradition of literature found in works of regional and southern Italian inspiration and belongs to that category of rare books which are suited to please children and adults alike: Grimm's legends and fairy tales, La Fontaine's fables, Saint-Exupery's Little Prince, or Cervantes' Don Quixote. I decided to translate The Little Jesus of Sicily for one simple reason: I feel in love with it. I started the novel and could not put it down. I saw myself in it, I saw my child, and I saw the child who resides in all of us and longs for wonder. It was beautiful, it was funny, and it made me happy; I wanted to share this precious feeling of joy with other readers. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed translating it.
A charming, heartfelt tale!
The Little Jesus of Sicily is a wonderful story that transcends both age and religion. The author recounts his experience as a young child chosen to be Jesus for a day for the Feast of Saint Joseph in a small village in pre-World War II Italy. As the story winds through the fanciful imaginations and commonplace activities of a youngster, the reader is reminded of his/her own experiences as a child and is introduced to an historical glimpse of a bygone era. The translation from the Italian is superb -- it was awarded the PEN American Center's 1996 Renato Poggioli Translation Award -- and the thoughtful illustrations, which burst off the page, are an asset to the work.

Simply Wonderful reading
My daughter is 6 years old and absolutely loved this book. Her grandparents live on a farm and she has heard stories of work horses and she somehow stumbled upon this book on her own at the library. When it was time to return this book, she searched for something similar and found Hurry! also by Jessie Haas and she was so excited. I also loved these books and immediately signed on to amazon.com to see if we could purchase them.
simply wonderful
This is a beautiful picture book, like all of the books in this series about Nora and her Grandparents farm. It shows how draft horses work on the farm and how caring a good farmer is to all the other aninals who live on the farm, be they residents or part of the natural enviroment. A wonderful story, simple and beautiful. The illustrations are true to life and make you feel like your at the farm with Nora.

great for historical value
I bought this for research. It has wonderful pictures that invite you into the life and business of New York 1900. It describes city life then in a way words can't.
Fascinating revalations
I am a great fan of Dover Books on NY. Coming from Italy where classic architecture is rife, what never ceases to amaze me is the evolution that is continously taking place in the big apple. The same spot seems to have been built upon "n" times. This book adds some beautiful photos of NY indoors as well, in restaurants, at clubs and parties. If feels as if I had just walked into a Henry James or Edith Wharton novel.

Good Read
I gave this book a good Flip-through and really enjoyed it. It gives a good prespective on the ecological problems our fresh waters encounter. I especially enjoyed the parts dealing with the Great Lakes, because I live near them. Why not check it out?
Good Book
